The pictures online when I did the booking did not match the room in reality. I know we were in Japan, so I was not expecting a huge space, however this room was extremely tiny, dirty, the covers on the bed had stains on them, the walls all over the room had brown stains on them and the bathroom had mould growing on the ceiling. It was by far the worst place I have stayed at. I was scared to breath or touch anything, I have travelled extensively and have stayed at airbnbs, luxury hotels and bed and breakfasts and hostels. None had been as terrible as this one. And the front desk lady when we checked in was quite rude.

Quite far way from Kyoto Station if you are not using the correct exit.
its near to Koji Station, it is great if u use this train station instead.

Nice and clean room but quite small for 3 adults. No storage . No place to properly hang towels. Beds comfortable. Complimentary breakfast was decent. Convenient location, about 10 minutes walk to Kyoto Station. Would stay again if come back to Kyoto.

Staff were kind however they have a weird policy that you have to leave your key at reception when you go out of the hotel. I did this and when I returned - they just gave me the key without asking for any ID - I wasn’t very impressed by this.

Great hotel in convenient location

Kyoto Plaza Hotel was a great hotel for exploring Kyoto. It's a short walk from Kyoto station (or 2 bus stops if you have luggage) and is close to Aeon Mall (a big shopping mall). Breakfast and traditional Japanese public bath are included with the stay. The breakfast was a simple buffet of mainly Japanese dishes and a few western ones, and was tasty and filling. The rooms are a bit small but very clean. Overall, it's very good value for money. I would recommend this hotel if you're looking for somewhere convenient to stay while exploring Kyoto/the surrounding areas and don't plan to spend much time in the room.

The hotel is about 10-15 minutes walk from Kyoto station. There’s a shopping mall across the street from it. The reception staff were very nice and incredibly helpful when we needed their help in making some Japanese phone calls. The bed is comfortable. There’s a nice Onsen free of charge. They share the reception with Plaza hotel which is a little old. Plaza Annex is very nice though.

Clean and convenient

The Plaza hotel is a typical Japanese hotel in this price range. Small,clean rooms with polite staff. It is easy walking distance to the railway station and even closer to a large shopping mall.
The breakfast is totally Japanese with no concessions. We were happy with our stay here.

Great hotel!

Love this hotel. Few minutes walk to Kyoto Station, large shopping mall & restaurants. Staff are really nice and being very helpful. Hotel has free observation floor, washing machines with clothes dryers for guests to use with coins.

Ideal place to stay in Kyoto.

My 2nd visit to Kyoto. Stay at Kyoto Plaza was a great place to stay.
Only a 10 minutes walk from Kyoto Shinkansen exit. Plus point it only 2-3 minutes
away from Aeon Mall. Hence giving you a great area to be in. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was a good selection.
Only set-back, breakfast area unable to coop when hotel is running high occupancy.
Will stay again if visit Kyoto.

Great location - staff a bit lackluster when I asked for wrench for my bike they could not find one/ or assist me? They kept putting towels & bed sheets on door which we did not need - even after asking them not to? Room too small for place to put them - great view though! Brekkie great with good selection & good clean/ hot tub!!!

The room was way too small that we can barely open our luggages. And it is pretty far from Kyoto station. Will not recommend this hotel. Although breakfast was simple but it was a nice gesture.

No frills place convenient to train station

Pretty basic older place was kind of pricey probably because it was high season. Really convenient to the train station which is what we wanted. Similar to other Japanese hotels with tiny rooms and bathrooms but works just fine. Breakfast was good.

Nice big hotel, but rooms are small and shower cabins inside rooms are tiny. Breakfast offered was of good choice, mostly japanese style. fast check in and check out are worth to mention.

An Average Hotel in a Good Location

I would rate this hotel 3.5 stars. This hotel has two buildings, main and annex. DO NOT stay in the main building. Fortunately, we stayed in the annex. It is newer, cleaner and the air is better. We went to the main building to do laundry one evening because the two washer and dryer machines in the annex building were occupied. The laundry facilities in the main building is on the 8th floor. I had to hold my breadth the whole time in the elevator. The carpet reeked with a combination of cigarette smoke and dirty carpet smells.
The room is on the small side, even by Japanese standards, for this price point. The breakfast buffet was passable. The staff was courteous. We are able to communicate sufficiently well in English.

Rent og godt med god beliggenhed

Centralt beliggende i gåafstand fra Kyoto station. Velassorteret morgenmad. Sød og meget venlig betjening. Hjælpsomhed overalt.
Værelset mangler skabsplads, og er meget lille. Badeværelset fungere fint, selvom det er utroligt lille. Kunne savne bedre engelskkundskaber.

次京都を訪れたら違うホテルを探します。

チェックイン時の説明と部屋に入ってから鍵を差し込む(電源を入れる)所の写真が違っていて、分からなかったのでフロントに内線したら年配の男性スタッフに嫌な感じで返されて初っぱなからマイナスイメージが強くなった。
お風呂とトイレが別なのは良かったけれど、お風呂とベッドの上に短い毛髪が1本ずつ落ちていて清潔感はイマイチだと感じた。
イオンがすぐ斜め前にあり、お土産も売っていて買い物は便利だった。

大浴場最高！温泉に行った気分

お部屋もベットも広くてゆっくり過ごせました。バス・トイレの明かりはもう少し明るい方が良い。シャワーと蛇口の切り替えが、シャワーの絵の方にコックをひねると蛇口から水が出て、蛇口の絵の方にするとシャワーから水が出て戸惑った。大浴場はとても快適で、汗をかいた後のお風呂は本当に気持ちが良かったですよ。

Feine Sache! Kyoto ist nicht gerade ein \"billiger Platz\" aber das Kyoto Plaza war günstig zu haben. Toller Service, nettes Personal. Man kommt mit Englisch gut klar. Die Lage ist akzeptabel, nicht zu weit von allem \"wichtigen\". Zimmer sind einfach, aber perfekt sauber und zweckmässig, wie meist in Japan. Alles in allem zu empfehlen, nicht unbedingt für einen längeren Aufenthalt, aber für ein paar Nächste ist es absolut OK (!!!) Sehr gutes Preis/Leistungs Verhältnis!

京都訪問時には、いつも同ホテルに宿泊します。京都駅からのロケーションとイオンモールへのアクセスは最高。綺麗な共同浴場もあり、朝食もおいしい。休日前日の宿泊費が少し高いので、それがイマイチ。また新館の一部の部屋は増築したようなので、浴室と部屋の段差が年寄りには危ない。

観光シーズンの日曜日でしたので京都駅周辺は大混雑で、ホテルの満室状態でしたが、部屋自体は静かに過ごせましたし、部屋から東寺も見えてよかったです。ただ朝食は大混雑で相席もしましたが座りきれないほどでした、カレーも間に合わず少し残念。

Très beau séjour à Kyoto

L'hôtel est facilement accessible à pied de la gare de Kyoto. L'hôtel est propre. La chambre est petite, mais très confortable. Le déjeuner offre une bonne variété de mets, japonais et américains.
L'hôtel offre la possibilité de louer des vélos pour la journée au montant de 1100 ¥. Nous avons adoré et avons trouvé que c'était une belle façon de voir la ville. La deuxième journée, nous avons voulu faire de même, mais les vélos étaient déjà loués. L'employé à la réception de l'hôtel nous a donc donné un nom de magasin au centre commercial Aeon au coin de la rue pour en louer. C'était même moitié moins cher (540 ¥), mais il y a un dépôt de 3000¥ que nous recouvrons au retour des vélos. Il y a une belle promenade le long de la rivière kamogawa.
Il y a un petit coffee shop au coin de la rue, derrière l'hôtel. Le barrista utilise une cafetière classique japonaise Kono. C'est impressionnant de voir ça.

청소 상태만 개선된다면 만족.

교토역에서 가깝고 근처 대형쇼핑몰이 있으며, 2층에 목욕탕이 있어서 좋았습니다. 숙소도 안락하니 좋았으나 청소상태는 아주 나빴습니다.
청소가 전혀 안되어 있었으며 아주 오래전부터 안한것처럼 바닥 전반적인부분과 침구에 먼지와 머리카락이 매우 많았습니다. 침대 헤드부분에 말라붙은 서클렌즈가 두어개 있었으며 테이블도 오래전에 닦았는지 지저분했습니다.
청소 상태만 개선된다면 다시 이용할 생각이 있습니다.

こじんまりして良いホテル

駅から少し離れていましたが歩いて行ける範囲でした。
近くにＥＯＮがあり食事もそこで間に合いました。
新館で３人部屋ベットを３つ入れた下さっていました、大きなお風呂もあったようですが部屋のお風呂がお手洗いと別になって家庭のお風呂のようなのがありましたのでそこで入りました。
新館と云うこともありお部屋も清潔できれいでした。
朝食のバイキングもほどよい種類でおいしかったです。
