Great location close to Kyoto station. Coffee/tea area in reception great. Welcome drink each night was a nice touch, and enjoying it while listening to live music. The hotel layout is interesting being open air - was very cold when we were there so the heaters and fire pits were great. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. An extra pillow would have been appreciated. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Room was solid. Pillows were too small for my taste. TV was small and had no international channel. There is not a real chair in the room. Storage space for clothes is very limited. One part of the room is lower so I almost fell down several times. The lobby is not enclosed and it has been very cold. There are a few seats by the fire but they are taken. Breakfast is really good, it costs around 20 US dollars, but if its full inside you have to wait outside the door in the freezing weather. The location is good, near the main train station, about two blocks away. At least one store is a block away from the hotel. The train station has an enormous number of stores and restaurants.

Wow! The staff wanted to charge me additional night at $125USD after staying two nights already at $44USD. I left the hotel early as all the reception was belligerent towards me. I made an error with my check out day. They refused to allow to pay online and said it was mandatory I pay through hotel only! Then tell me the hotel was out of rooms! TRUTH
Avoid this crummy hotel as the beds are horrible and pillows are dreadful. :-(

It was a nice hotel on a good location. This hotel is extremely strict. You can only do 3 nookings at a time, and because there was 8 of us, and the \"leader\" , I have to sign an agreement about their policies on big groups regarding noice policy and that because we are in a group and want to eat at their restaurant, it's not guaranteed that we weill be seated together. Understandable, since their breakfast area has limited seatings. The worst part...I have to pay 3000yen because I stained the towel,pillow case and shower curtain because I just had my hair colored prior to coming here. :( . I did not oppose, I just paid without questions. I told them about it because I don't want them charging my card by surprise and they scan passports on check- in.I miht get banned if I argue with them. Overall, our stay was ok.

CLEAN: 5/5. Room was clean and after a few days at a hotel in Tokyo, was also spacious. The balcony was a nice touch (we were on 2nd floor of the South bldg).
QUIET: 5/5. We faced a road & heard occasional street noise, but nothing that kept us awake. More importantly, we heard ZERO noise from our nextdoor or upstairs neighbors.
AMENITIES: 5/5. We didn't partake in breakfast, so I can't speak to that. A daily free drink (boozy or not) for guests was a nice touch. Checking in and out was super easy. Speaking of which, the front desk was in the North bldg, and guest rooms were in both the North and South bldgs. The South bldg was directly across the street from the North bldg, and you needed to use your room key card to gain entry. Separate onsen (in South bldg) for men and women; the one for women also required a security code that the front desk provided). Multiple drink lounges (water, coffee, tea...one in the North bldg where restaurant was & where breakfast was served and another in the South bldg). I can't recall if laundry service existed or was offered, but we didn't do any at this stage of our Japan trip.
ACCESS: within a 5-10 minute walk of Kyoto Station so everything was super accessible. Also a 7 Eleven half a block away from North bldg.
AFFORDABILITY: Was here at a non-peak time so I suppose that's why it seemed affordable, but for the price and location, it was a good value to us. Would definitely stay here again.

Loved the sense of community staying at Sakura lounge hotel. We enjoyed the free flavored water and welcome drink every night. Located just few minutes from Kyoto station, yet once you walked in the hotel, it was totally different world; quiet, peaceful, relaxing. We enjoyed sitting on the couch by the fire sipping drinks listening live music played by local musicians. The hotel has communal hot tub, I loved it.

I LOVED Sakura Terrace and I’d absolutely book again. Close to Kyoto Station for easy sightseeing, relatively spacious room, and a cozy facilities section with a bath and massage chairs that were necessary after hiking the fushimi inari temple trail.

Really loved that they had rental haoris for when you sit out in the patio area. Just felt like a cool communal space

The exercise room doesn’t exist anymore. They filled the exercise room with massage chairs and moved the treadmills to a very awkward location (in the lobby by the elevators). So when running everyone sees you as they pass. If exercise is a part of your routine then stay elsewhere. Otherwise very nice, but due to the fact that I run daily I will be staying elsewhere moving forward.

Great location, great staff, decent sized room. Easy check-in/out process. We were welcomed with a welcome drink. We loved the live music from the local musicians. They really did a great job creating a resort-relax-vibe in a busy city. They provided laundry machines for guests to use with a purchase of ¥100 laundry pod.

The only thing I see into oemnt on is the smoking area infront of the entrance to the amenities. The smoke smell gets draw into the lobby and the massage chair area, making it very unpleasant to stay.

Lovely hotel in a wonderful location 2 minutes from Kyoto station. Our room was spacious and clean. We really liked the pajamas provided by the hotel. The highlight was the free use of the laundry machines and massage chairs while we waited :)

Atrium/lobby area is open air so quite hot in the summer. I would assume it is cold in the Winter also. The free welcome drinks daily, the make your own hand dripped coffee and larger than normal size room make up for it though…

Very convenient for travelling within Kyoto and taking the Shinkansen given the proximity to Kyoto Station. Welcome drinks were a nice bonus. The laundry units are good but dryers are often occupied. I would recommend drying or doing laundry at local laundromats to avoid waiting

The room was nice and clean, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. However, when we checked in, the staff did not like that we had 5 friends staying the same days in separate rooms, and they told us to never do that again.

The public bath was great, loved the cold plunge feature. My wife was disappointed There is no cold plunge in the womens public bath. The breakfast was fantastic with so many options, highly recommend at least once. Dinner options were few. The pillows are tiny and rock hard. We should have requested additional pillowsl. Location was perfect and there is alot to do. Kyoto was definitely the best out of Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto trip. I would have spent more days there had i known better.

Great location and convenient to get around Kyoto.

The hotel is located not too far behind the Kyoto station but enough distance to get away from the noise and busy traffic. It’s convenient to get around Kyoto and nearby sights. The amenities are not fancy but comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay at this hotel again.

This place has a hostel vibe with it’s decor and facilities. North and south buildings are open air and rooms doors swing out. Rooms are small, plain and very basic, with no safe and very few charging ports. Beds are terrible with cheap mattresses. Did not enjoy my stay for the price or comfort. Photos are real but deceptive. One nice thing about this place is the breakfast, and free coffee in lobby.

The location is great , hotel amenities like the bath house /sauna and breakfast buffet along with free cocktail drinks in the evening with daily entertainment are awesome . I did not expect all of these with the rate that I paid. Will come back to this hotel in the future when go to Kyoto again.

Great Hotel!!

The stay here at Sakura Terrace was amazing! Staff is very polite and very helpful. Room has a decent size, bigger than my last two hotels in Japan. Dinner and mixed drinks are great with the live music they have everyday. The location is really good, it’s about a 2 minute walk from the Kyoto station. Thank you so much! We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Japan.

Some of the staff were not helpful at all when it came to me figuring out how to send my luggage to my next hotel. The night before I checked out, I asked and was told to scan a QR code and to figure it out. I told them the size of my luggage to get an estimate price and they just told me come back later.

Close to transportation. Fee coffee and tea drink available at gym wonderful. Washing machine and dry provided but dryer too poor in drying so we had to struggle drying wet clothing. Overall good experience staying here.

Staff were very lovely, area was safe and quiet especially for a first time traveller, convenience store and train station literally down the road! A wonderful place to stay in the heart of Kyoto. I would recommend staying here and when I am able to come back to Japan I would definitely stay again as it made exploring very easy and simple!

Great service. We love the self check-in/out. The rooms are artistically decorated. We were comfortable. The beds are on the firmer side—so if you're a side sleeper, it might feel a bit uncomfortable. Overall, we will stay here again and we'd recommend this place to our family and friends.

We stayed at Sakura Terrace 5 nights and were so happy with our hotel selection in so many ways. Location was ideal as we made Kyoto our home base from which we did many days trips around the region. Proximity to Kyoto Station and bus lines was extremely convenient. Our room was lovely, spacious, bright and comfortable. The morning breakfast was delicious and had so much to choose from (by far the best of all hotel breakfasts during our Japan trip). In the evenings, we would enjoy the complimentary cocktail and live music in the lobby. The south building had many amenities including a large spa, laundry, lounge area and massage chairs. Would definitely stay there again.

The priperty and amenities are absolutly beautiful. They had live music every night while we were staying there and it was just the most lovely atmosphere.

It was also so close to Kyoto station and a local shopping centre which was so convenient! Will definitly be comkng back here again!
