Pros.....
Loved our stay at the Eden hotel. Great location for Rovinj Old Town if you're hay and able to walk.
The rooms were lovely, well furnished and modern.
Breakfast provided an excellent choice. Good facilities and activities.
Staff friendly and helpful.

Cons....
My only complaint, as suggested whilst staying at the hotel, is that care needs to be taken to ensure guests maintain the standards expected of a 4 star hotel....far too many towels and laundry hanging from balconies which lowers the tone. Also people using Mulini beach bar as sun loungers meaning people wanting drinks can't get tables/seats.

highly recomended

room was good, the only downside was it was setup as a triple, when we were a couple, could have used the extra space. Food was excelent, we picked half board and were thinking ot would be hit or miss, but very much a hit, three well defined ourses and plenty of choice, based on our experience get there in the first 10 minutes to have good seating options. The only draw back is parking is 350 M from the hotel, you need to check in and leave your car for 15 minutes to then use your key to acccess the car park.

I extended my stay because I loved it here so much.
Gorgeous property in park-like surroundings and near the water. Spectacular buffet for both breakfast and dinner. Amazing spa with hot pool and sauna on ground floor. I had a lovely massage and soak. Walking distance to town and bicycle rental is also available. Lovely, friendly staff. 10/10. Perfect for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Wish I could have stayed a week.

I returned in this hotel after 10 years or so.
The rooms very redecorated in our room was very clean. Beside friendly staff and free parking unfortunately that is all that is good in this hotel.

We waited almost an hour for the check-in. The line was long as I would wait for the last plane to evacuate planet earth.
Same story for the breakfast and dinner. If you don't pick odd hours for dinning you my find yourself looking for a free table for 10 minutes. I can't imagine what looks like on high season in July or august there. Tables in the dinning room are big as there are only families with 5 children or so. You have no privacy at all.
The food is tasteless. The staff there is a disaster. They were not able to clean our big table (for 8 people) the whole time we were dinning our meal. So the two of us sat there among the piles of food and dirty plates that have been left from people that ate before we came.
The room was cold. Although the air-conditioner could heat, that wasn't enough.
They won't see us again there.

Wonderful stay at Eden

This hotel has everything. The location and the activities are awesome. The room was comfortable,nice ,big and clean. The only complaint I have is the coffee it was just ok.I enjoyed the pools and the beach access with all the complimentary launges. It was a short pleasant walk to the old town with all the shops and restaurants. The staff at this hotel were all friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel. It's nice for families with children as well.

Eden is beautifully refurbished. Our room, a family suite was perfect for our family of four. The location is stunning, surrounded by trees and the gardens are well maintained. The pool area is lovely and even though it is shared with Lone, we never had any issues getting sunbeds when we usually arrived in the afternoon. The beach area was lovely but quite small so got very busy. The walk into Rovinj is lovely along the promenade. We hired bikes and kayaks from the hotel. Although kayaks are way overpriced at €20 an hour when around the bay in the forest you can hire them for €6. Buffet breakfast had a good selection and quality was ok. We had to eat there one evening due to bad weather and the quality of the food wasn’t good, especially for the price. Plenty more amazing restaurants in town.

you should know that the hotel is huge and from end to end is a very long walk.
f the room you get is at the far end everything you do is a long walk. Additionally the parking is really not on the hotel property. Approximately 2 weeks away. It is an inconvenience.

We came during the busy season, so it was hard to find a spot by the pool, but there are plenty of pleasant places to lay in the sun and walk into the pool or Adriatic. The staff are friendly and professional. They always greeted us and the facilities were well managed.

The environmental aspects of the property could be improved. Stop using one use plastic tubes for the bathroom gels etc. - use refillable instead. Encourage guests to keep towels rather than change daily - flag up/encourage option at least. More environmental awareness raising etc would be good.

I loved everything about this hotel: from the amazing pool to the stunning beach, great spa for rainy days and very clean rooms! No queues for breakfast and I was glad to see that there were plenty of sun beds available around the pool and on the beach, even after 10am.

Great location right by the beach and Punte Corrente forest (with bike hire) and a nice 15mins stroll along the promenade into Rovinj old town. Excellent animation team who run a range of activities for all ages and interests, from yoga to trampolining to sea kayaking and daily aqua-aerobics. A friendly and accessible hotel and the animation team make it stand-out among the Maistra Group. The hotel and staff worked hard to manage Covid-19 precautions and succeeded in providing a high standard of service which worked well for guests.

Modern hotel in a perfect location. Very comfortable bright refurbished rooms with ample storage space, access to a nice hotel beach at a calm bay with all necessary beach services. Proximity to the Zlatni Rt park (just next to the hotel, perfect for morning walks and runs) and Rovinj Old Town (ca. 20-30 mins. walk via a beautiful promenade with great sunset views). Rich breakfast buffet (no self-service due to COVID-19 measures), however, dinner buffet very poor and not to a 4* standard (limited choice staff started to clean-out the food already 30 mins before the restaurant closing time) - definitely recommend to eat out in Rovinj for better value for money and quality/atmosphere. Choice of food at the beach restaurant rather limited (salads, pizza, burger) and staff unattentive, lacking hospitality. All in all - hotel highly recommended for its location and facilities, some services should be improved though to correspond to the expected hotel standard.

Great location - can walk along the promenade 10/15 mins into Rovinj centre but hotel is also on the beach and next to the forest. Friendly and helpful staff and brilliant hard-working animation team who run a good variety of activities during the week. These are discreet but a good way of trying new things and learning new skills, while meeting others from around Europe. Always inclusive (especially the aqua aerobics) and fun, and inspire you to keep it up after the holiday. My daughter had a go at Zumba and enjoyed it so much that she did it afterwards for silver Duke of Edinburgh award!

Nice setting. Good outside area with very good sunbathing lawn. Restaurant was a problem for me personally, since cooked meals were inevitably reheated, and this causes me gastric problems. The lady manager did her best to alleviate this, but to no avail. The hotel is a long walk from the town, and no shuttle bus was provided, so it's either a taxi ride (expensive) or a long walk (tiring for us oldies). Staff were friendly and helpful, especially the porters

At the reception, one of the staff members was not helpful at all, in fact was unhelpful and almost made my birthday celebration not happening ! When I asked to make a reservation at particular restaurant , he said I don’t have to do that failing to say because it is closed during winter! When, I complained after going back to hotel, no apologies from his side or trying to make up somehow for it....other things went well except this one ... disappointing indeed.

I stay at this hotel quite often. It has great location and very good spa and wellness. I didn't like the location of the room that I got. It's close to the hotels \"logistic\" center so it gets very noisy around midnight (glass shattering, trash being thrown, people talking). I will come back but will be very careful about the room I choose.

This hotel was excellent value for money. We had a triple room which was spotless with plenty of space. We had a couple of minor issues and they were each fixed within 2 hours. Breakfast was excellent and evening meal generally good. Pools great - always found loungers but sometimes had to move them to get 3 together in afternoon. Oleander restaurant a nice change from main hotel restaurant on a couple of nights with associated entertainment. Good exercise classes and well equipped gym. We will return.

This hotel group in Rovinj includes 4 and 5 star properties and they share the same outdoor pool and the ability to eat at the other hotels and charge your room. The decor is sleek European in the rooms with ample storage, terraces, beautiful bathrooms. It is a great resort directly on the water and a 10-15 min walk along the water to the old town of Rovinj. Perfect for us!

Great hotel - lovely location!

Another great holiday at the Hotel Eden! We travelled across Europe to spend a few days here before heading back to the UK, and weren't disappointed. Refurbished rooms are very nice, buffet meals work well for our family with something for everyone, cultural visits to Rovinj (with easy local bus rides to Pula and Porec available) and plenty of sporting activities - sea kayak and cycle hire from the beach and the range of daily activities from the hotel entertainment team. We kayaked out to St Andrews island one day, cycled around and beyond the forest another day, re-visited St Euphemia's cathedral and other sites in Rovinj and enjoyed a music festival one evening.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. Lots of places to relax - around the pool, under shaded trees or by the sea; clean beach towels every day.

Beach restaurant was ok and typical of hotel fare. There was an attempt at creating evening atmosphere in the outside area with a number of musicians and singers but on the whole atmosphere was missing. In the main hotel there was no background music or any incentive for hotel guests to meet one another over a pre dinner drink - quite soul-less. However, we still had a great time in Rovinj.

Lovely hotel by beach and close to town

This was our third stay at the Hotel Eden - and we never usually go back anywhere twice. Rooms tastefullly refurbished this year, 2 large pools with towel hire and plenty of sunbeds around the pool and grounds. Next to the beach - warm clean sea, snorkelling and kayak hire - and the forest with bike hire. Enthusiastic and friendly animation team offering a range of different cultural/sporting activities for all ages and a variety of evening entertainment held in the grounds - so no noise in the hotel building. Helpful staff and we really appreciated Samanta's friendly smile when she cooked our omelettes at breakfast. Short 15mins stroll along the promenade to Rovinj with cathedral (don't miss St Euphemia), museums, art galleries, restaurants and shops. Still plenty to do for another visit one day!

At first sight, stunning but...only for dieters

The hotel is set in a large park, forested with lovely walkways, bikes to hire, and nearby 2 five star hotels on the same site with a third under construction. There is another in Rovinj town. All are owned by the same company, Maistra. The staff are charming, every ready to help, but are badly let down by astonishingly poor food and a communist-era bar/communal lounge. The four restaurants are actually a self-service cafeteria (breakfast being the least bad meal), a smart pool bar, a large, smart café and, along the pebble beach a smart, bar with sofas. The staff are interchangeable between these.

We had lunch in the adjoining 5*Lone, same staff, bizarre black décor, same terrible food. We went into town, hoping for good restaurants and failed to find one, although the Maistra-owned Adriatic was better than its cousins in the Park (Ana was wonderful).

Clearly all the food is produced off-site somewhere in Maistra's factory, frozen and heated up (slightly) when required. Bread was the give-away - pre-baked and then heated up. The salt water infinity swimming pools were beautifully laid out, endless towels, but, like the rest of the hotel, there are endless sets of steps - barely negotiable for able-bodied people. A proper pool with water deep enough to swim in would be a help.

Our stay was marred by incessant rain for 5 days but we were with friends so it should have been good. But when raining, there were few seats. In sun, most things would be overlooked but..

A lovely friendly hotel with very helpful staff and enthusiastic animation team providing a range of daily activities and evening entertainment - but in a discreet way, so it's not at all intrusive if you don't want to participate. Large grounds, marvellous 2 pools and warm sea at the adjoining beach. Good selection of food at breakfast and evening buffets - especially the freshly cooked omelettes each morning. Rovinj town a 15 mins stroll along the waterfront. Nothing not to like!

2nd visit to the hotel , has been effectively refurbished since last time and found all staff including reception staff friendly and helpful.

Great hotel, lovely modern rooms. lovely pools, lots of sun loungers. lots of shade if you need it on the lawn area. Not many English holidaymakers, most staff speak ok English. short walk to the stunning beach, very busy but didn't spoil things, food good but I have had better in a 4 star hotel, I would definitely go back. Indoor pool area is great, very warm hot tub, my daughter and I were the only ones using it, lovely sauna area too. Short walk to Rovinji along the seafront, takes about 8 minutes stunning sea views along the way, the town is so pretty with lots of good cafes, bars and restaurants and ice cream parlours. would love to go back NOW.

Yes to Rovinj, No to Eden!

Having been to Dubrovnik last year, we eagerly anticipated going to Croatia again. However, whilst Rovinj and Istria are gorgeous, the hotel was a huge let down. The relentless miserable attitude and inflexibility of the majority of the staff made being in the hotel disappointing.
Some lowlights:
Tried dinner buffet on first night because there was a storm--terrible quality and choice! Had to stop my daughter eating some sort of turkey burger--4* hotel!!
No table service in bar--had to wait at the bar to be served by unhappy bar staff!
Not fresh juice at breakfast--from concentrate
Hotel allows reserving sun beds for unlimited time--saw beds unoccupied but reserved for 6 hours one day--pool staff not allowed to do anything!
Limited lunch options--very small pool bar (no pool waiter service) offering sandwiches, fruit, ice cream and Oleander which can't cope with demand
\"Private\" beach is not private--jam packed
10 hangers for 3 people for 2 weeks
Bath towels small and thin
Numerous maintenance issues in the room
Sold a trip which didn't meet the description on what was delivered
Pool bar staff refused to sell me Orange and Pineapple-told me Pineapple was only available in cocktails whilst holding the carton in front of me!
Restaurant manager refused to let us into the restaurant for breakfast 2 mins before opening time declaring that he had his job and I have my place! Apology letter from Hotel Manager was addressed to Mr and Mrs--I am divorced!
Overall, lacking service

Bery good place to stay in Rovinj

The Eden Hotel in Rovinj is large, modern, very clean with good amenities. Dinner and breakfast at the hotel was very good. Had live music in the large lobby with comforting seating and bar access. The hotel has exercise facilities and a nice spa. Had an excellent massage. Did require a short taxi ride to go into Old City of Rovinj,but wasnt expensive. Rooms are very clean.

Lovely hotel rooms have been refurbished

This is the third year we have been here. The location of the hotel is fantastic and the facilities are excellent plus the rooms have been refurbished this Year and are light and comfortable.

Excellent location for park beach toen

Hotel staff make you feel so welcome and we particularly enjoyed the tour guide around rovinj which was provided by the hotel, don't be put off by 3 hours as it's in the shade and at a leasurely pace. Fantastic week

Very good location and practical

This hotel is huge! plenty of people everywhere but well organized. Could use some renovations but I understood it will happen this winter (2016). Parking is overbooked and overflowing.
Very good breakfast buffet.

great location

The place was nice and clean. They gave us an upgrade to a suit which was very nice.
the swimming pools are amazing. The place nearby the park and about 15 mins walk to the old city.
The breakfast was good.

Wake Up Call, It's 2016

The Hotel Maestra Eden is a reminder that location isn't everything.
It's location is fantastic, right at the entrance to the Golden Cape and along the promenade. That should be an advantage to parlay. The issue is that the hotel and its staff feel like a throwback to communist era Croatia. The grounds and pool are beautiful (image always counted then). The infrastructure and staff are tired and indifferent at best. The staff can be cold and even condescending. It's as if guests should be grateful to be at such a place. In 2016 there is lots of other competition. We stayed at other hotels in Croatia aware that customer service and quality of experience matter. Maestra Eden needs to wake up to this reality. Disappointing for the price and rating at best.

Crowded beach. We were not able to find a spot to put town a towel on the beach!
Room AC could not keep the room cool enough to spend any time in the room during the day

When I arrive o inquire about a room clerk gave me a higher rate than I had seen on Expedia . She told me to book on Expedia and when they receive approval they would let me know. I had to go up three times and finally she went back and checked.. The lady at from desk said seaview or park view. I of course said seaview but when we went to room (thr farthest from elevator there was just tall pine trees in front of our balcony . I went down to desk and was told they have no rooms that see the sea. We were very disappointed and knew we already had paid and had no chose. The desk gave us up higher so we looked at the top of a small forest.

Pretty town, shame about hotel

We stayed here because it was one of the hotels available for a conference at the sister hotel next door but was slightly cheaper. I have rarely been more disappointed. At first, the check in staff gave us the wrong room type but fairly quickly changed it. The room was hot and despite there being a thermostat, no amount of changing it did anything for the room temperature. Carpets were stained, toilet leaked and bathroom smelled of sewage, towels ancient and smelly, lamp shade hanging on by a thread, telephone didn't work. Stopped complaining after day 1 because, clearly, nothing was going to be done and the huge hotel was completely full. One positive was the selection available at breakfast buffet although we learned to be there as soon as it opened since there were no tables available if we left to too late. The pool area was great, clean and organized, beautiful. We rented bikes from the hotel. We consider ourselves experienced and flexible travelers and much about the Eden would have been easier to put up with if the staff had been friendly, accommodating or even vaguely interested in helping us - but this was generally not the case (exception was pool staff, and some of the cleaning crew). We had a long time between checkout and leaving and we were instructed to leave out bags in a closet which was in full view of everyone in the lobby and remained unlocked all day.
