Difficult to get a lounger by the pool, the pool is shared between Lone and Eden so very crowded.

In August the beach was also very crowded.

I love Lone, this is our 2nd time there and we love everything about the people and location of the hotel. Sadly this year my room was not cleaned nearly quarter as good as last year. Will give it another try next year … I just got unlucky with the cleaning people on my floor

Hotel is huge (260 rooms?). Lots of rooms, corridors, lobby area, 3 restaurants. Desk clerk not esp. friendly at checkin. Bellboy (Phillip) was good and helpful.
Used valet parking. Room is quite large and seems comfortable. Lighting doesn't reach desk area. Had our free buffet dinner. Good spread, lots of good deserts. Valet parking. 5* hotel of the modern mega-scale variety. Room large. Bathroom large. Breakfast buffet good but very busy- lots of guests, and lots of young children. Would definitely stay here again - price very reasonable for what you get.

Fantastic hotel, really unusual in style, very retro. Staff were all so very helpful throughout our stay. It was our silver wedding anniversary and they put champagne and truffles in the room. Amazing gardens and woods surrounding the whole area. Very picturesque

Overall it was a great stay. From the time we arrived, the service was great. Check in was easy and efficient. Our room was ready before we arrived, so no waiting time. Full valet service with free parking, which is not the norm in other hotels. The room was nice and spacious. Had everything we required, and was topped up throughout the day. Food was great at all the restaurants and value for money. Enjoyed the beach, indoor pool and spa facilities. The only request i would make, is that they remove the carpets from the elevators.

Everything about our stay was exceptional. The rooms are super spacious, the staff are wonderful, helpful, accommodating, great at their work. The amenities are great with a number of restaurants available, a day spa with great options, a sauna and steam room facility, indoor outdoor pool options with a beach a few metres away and short walking distance to the old town and a number of other facilities. However, the hotel has everything, you dont even need to leave the residence.
The hotel has a modern look but its all around vibe is super relaxed and quiet which is exactly what we wanted and it was exactly the 'retreat' type stay advertised.
Would highly recommend.

Hotel Lone is a lovely hotel set in a beautiful garden by the sea - about 20 minutes flat walk from the centre of Rovinj. It’s not cheap but this hotel makes you feel special. The rooms are really well appointed and the balconies are private. The staff are friendly and attentive. Maistra - the company that owns Hotel Lone - also owns the Monte Mulini hotel next door and the Grand Park nearer to Rovinj. All great hotels if you can afford them

This is place is absolutely stunning. Art/Architecture museum of a hotel with an amazing breakfast from 7A-12PM, english speaking staff, and a simple safe walk to the beach or town. You felt the beauty of a forested reserve while staying in a posh hotel. It was even better then I imagined.

Amazing stay at the Lone, it’s a nice 10 min walk into Rovinj. We didn’t use the pool but used the beach part where you can stay on comfy lounge beds. Breakfast has a huge variety. The hotel is a little bit stale and lacking in atmosphere, it feels a bit museum esq however we would return again. We dined at Agli Amici at the partnering grand Park hotel and that was another level!!

The staff are incredibly hospitable and the property landscape was incredible! The breakfast was delicious and the variety was top notch. We love the outdoor restaurant by the pool! Our one and only (truly only) complaint with the property was their pillows — my entire family left with quite a bit of neck and back pain. The pillows are low quality and it's shocking given the general amenities and other elements of the hotel that were so well executed.

We booked 3 rooms for 5 nights and overall we rated the hotel 4 out of 5. Firstly the staff were exceptional and the hotel and rooms were very clean.
Our main gripe is that the hotel is not totally child friendly. The pool area is extensive but is surrounded by steps which have no ramps for buggies or wheelchairs. So in our case we had continually lift our grandson’s buggy up and down the stairs. Moreover, the pool restaurant has no baby changing facilities so we were forced to change nappies on the toilet floor.
Otherwise, it’s a great hotel and would happily return.

Shame pool was shared with sister hotel so was kid soup and noisy. Zone c on the front had v nice beds and sea access.

Room - spacious, clean, but no kettle for coffee or tea. Park view was so relaxing.

Breakfast - Good selection and tasteful. One morning I waited for 10 minutes in line since only one person did sunny upside down, scrambled eggs and omelette.

Staff - Front desk girls were amazing! Some others obviously seemed to be annyoned when I would visit the front desk. We were not even allowed to have 1 hour extra for the check-out.

Wellness - Vey nice place where I spent most of my time.

This was our third stay at Lone Hotel and we must say it was disappointing. We could not help but feel that the hotel downgraded from luxurious experience to an average one. Starting from our premium room (with a view of a parking) which lacked amenities such as coffeemaker and well stocked minibar that offered something other that mere basics. Pool and beach lounge chairs were almost impossible to find even at 10am in the morning. This must be due to the fact that hotel beach and facilities are shared with a nearby hotel. There is a bar at the pool with long lines and no waiter service (something that was offered on our previous stay). Getting service during breakfast (mainly someone to order coffee from) took a very long time. Long wait times for lunch at the restaurant on the pool as well. Overall we don't consider staying at Lone in a near future.

Great hotel and facilities

Spent three days with my family. Rooms were modern, spacious, immaculately clean. Breakfast buffet had good choice but service was a bit slow, probably because of too many guests for the seating available. Same for pool and beach, great facilities and location but getting lounge chairs was tough. That said, dinner (and food) at Mediterraneo Restaurant at hotel next door was top notch. We loved Istria as a location, lots of pretty small towns and sites to see.

Winter break at Hotel Lone

Hotel Lone is beautiful and almost all the staff are really helpful except one!
We had a problem in the restaurant when the waiter had opened our wine and poured a glass for another guest at a different table, which we saw happening.
He then brought the wine to us and asked us to taste before pouring . We told him what we had seen him do with the wine. He did not like it. For the rest of the evening he displayed a bad attitude, this was embarrassing as we had invited friends to join us for supper.
Thankfully all other members of staff were really helpful and the leisure facilities are great!

We discovered blood stains on the duvet just right before we were getting into bed. Called the reception hoping someone would come and change it. The answer was there was only one option - change room. If otherwise, nothing they could do before there is no maids after certain time. I was quite furious that they were so not helpful. But it was past midnight and we already unpacked and had shower, it would be a very long night for us if we were to change room. We decided to stay where we were and not to use the duvet. No apologies nothing when checking out of course. The experience was quite unacceptable

Dead luxurious hotel if you park in the hotel car park and leave key with receptoon they fetch your car to and from the entrance. Good size gym pool and very hot sauna. Very modern perhaps lacks in intimate atmosphere. Has the best hotel beach in Rovinj.

Beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean room, wonderful breakfast, top notch staff, proficient in guest and service needs, with some room for improvement. Need more smiles, more gratitude, maybe addressing guests by their last names. Just a suggestion. Other than that one thing that was uncomfortable, I requested a single bed room for my husband and myself and we were given two queen size beds. Front desk said, they could fill the empty space somehow making it all into one extra large bed. Great, but it was the most uncomfortable thing ever.
Overall, the grounds are gorgeous, clean, just beautiful setting. I highly recommend it. I will come back, despite the bed issue.

A great hotel with a lovely seafront walk into Rovinj. Pool was great and beach sun beds were good although getting down early to get a good spot is essential as it was very busy in high season when we traveled. Room was spacious. Not much of a hotel bar and we did not try the hotel restaurants at night as Rovinj has too much to offer. Staff very friendly. Would definitely return.

nestled in Lone Bay yet on the edge of the vast woodland park if you turned left and if you turned right its a simply stunning walk into old Rovinj. Hotel Lone is classy without being stuffy

The esplanade into Rovinj was a pretty good walk, but nice due to the amazing views, shopping and restaurants along the way. Would not hesitate to return to Rovinj or the Hotel Lone.

Not really a 5-star hotel feel

The Spa area is too small and not giving that relax feel because it is to light and not cozy. Also people show of their nudity or bring in the strollers by the pool area and all of this is tolerated by the staff.

Breakfast coffee is a lottery, sometimes great, sometimes watery. Food options for dinner was at the 3-star level hotel, not 5. There was only one option for desert - cakes. No veggies as side dish (like potato or broccoli).

Staff was mostly polite and easy going and kind, only the lady at the restaurant entrance which take your room number was a bit up tight and not making welcoming atmosphere.

Oh yes, they have only two kinds of pillow, normal but very big ones and a memory foam ones, also quite big, so if you sleep on a lower pillow you will have a problem. I had to sleep on a children's pillow in a 5-star hotel because they couldn't' provide adult size pillow but lower feeling.

Our suit was on a second floor and it was advertised as a sea view when in fact it's only a partial sea view since there is another hotel in front of it.
One day they forgot to refill the water so we had to ask for that too. So, basically, it is a non-luxury feeling and you've to watch for them to do and give you what you supposed to be paying for. That is not something I like to to on my holiday.

Lone is a very nice hotel, visually appealing and has a modern feel and the Lone bay is gorgeous.

This is situated ~20 minutes walking, south of Old Town, in a hotel complex of sorts. Spacious grounds and access to pool & beach make it feel like a resort. Some construction is going on, which blocks the nice seafront promenade to town. Inside, the hotel is very modern, with a vast, open lobby and an atrium spanning 4 floors with a giant skylight. Rooms are functional, large and with balcony. Modern, but lacks some character. Dinner was classy (and pricey), with a well-informed server. Breakfast was very crowded, though with lots of variety. All in all, this felt like a touristy, crowded hotel, designed more for large groups than for couples like us who might prefer a smaller, boutique hotel.

Lunch in the hotel restaurant, one entree, two main dishes, waited for over an hour for the average food (the dish did not even contain the ingredients stated in the menu), terribly overpriced-skip eating here, take a 10min walk down the riviera and have perfect meals in any tavern in Rovinj city. Sorry but for this pricing level, you expect perfection.

Lovely Hotel

Excellent hotel made more so by the staff. Everyone here could not have been more helpful or courteous. They are a credit to their company and a great advert for this beautiful region of Croatia.
