Ok hotel but could be better

In Italy and flew into Rome on a late flight and this was the closest hotel for my final destination.
To be honest, I wouldn’t come back here again 😔 WiFi in the bedrooms doesn’t work.
You also have to pay a tax to stay in this hotel which wasn’t included in the bill.

Lovely stay on the outskirts of Rome

The hotel is elegant, the food superb, and the staff lovely and helpful. My only concern was that our room was in a dead zone and e needed a bit of wifi as we are from out of country. Other than that it was 5 stars all around

The hotel is very dated and tired. It urgently needs an update. The rooms are tiny and very dark. The bathroom is also very dark and they have a tiny shower, very uncomfortable.
There is a restaurant in the hotel but they only do a few dishes on the menu and it is very expensive.

Always a pleasure here, will always be my favorite hotel for my Rome stays. Rooms are comfortable and always spotless. Service always with smiles and impeccable. Great breakfast and dinners. Love the two pools. A vacation place within itself. Train nearby makes day trip to Rome center a breeze.

Good hotel but breakfast can be more fresh..

I had a good stay at Grand Hotel Duca D'Este although the variety of breakfast and ambience can be improved. The hallways are painted dark red which is kind of creepy.

Italy vacation to visit Rome

We stayed at this hotel because some friends of ours said we should stay in Tivoli for our visit to Rome. The hotel was not in Tivoli proper, but 8 km west and 20km east of Rome. Tivoli was definitely a beautiful town. We could catch the bus stop at the hotel to go either direction. To get to Rome we took the bus to the metro. It was about an hour trip to get to Rome. The traffic closer to Rome was very busy city traffic with construction on the roads closer to the metro.

Disappointing, unfriendly and smelly experience

very poor sewage system, the whole hotel and area smells worse than a public toilet. Even had to turn off the AC to stop the smell coming in the room
unfriendly and racist manager, who separated the group of black guests from the white guest at breakfast and took them to another part of the hotel
ripped towels by the pool side! Not 4* experience! It doesn't even deserve 2 stars. Lift was out of service! The list goes on

Excellent comfortable stay

Excellent hotel, clean and comfortable rooms, great breakfast buffet, a good value, friendly knowledgable staff. Definite recommend. I plan on staying here each time I come to Rome. Wifi is a little spotty but strong when it's working, surrounding area is not tje bedt but transportation is readily available to the center.

The hotel presented well but they did not have our reservation at first and tried to convince us to pay for another room. After I pulled the confirmation up on my phone they went to their computer and found our reservation. The room they gave us was nice to look at until my husband pulled back the blankets and the sheets were torn. The restaurant gave us packaged oil and pepper upon our request which was very strange being in Italy and the tables around us had bottled oil and fresh ground pepper. I am not sure if it was because we were American or not.

Good hotel for overnight stop

Stayed here overnight on a car journey from Naples to Florence, so the availability of free parking was a major factor in our choice of hotel. We also wanted to visit Villa Adriana, some 10 km away. The hotel has good grounds and a large pool, but the weather wasn't good enough for us to use them. The hotel is large, with plenty of common areas, and is furnished in way that seems intended to convey a sense of opulence - a bit outdated, but otherwise fine. Staff were helpful, especially the Head Waiter in the dining room, where food was good and portions were large. Our room was also large, and we were \"upgraded\" to one at the back, which had a view over the gardens and pool.

We were very satisfied with this hotel, and would use it again for an overnight stop. However, we would probably not choose it for a long stay.

Not-To-Recommend Hotel

Dear,

I expacted much more for a 4stars hotel. First of all the service at the reception was not friendly, it was like they're always irritaded if we asked information, they never give a smile and never helped us to the fullest. The 1st time we enter the hotelroom it's was not refreshed. I thing if you know that client will stay in a room, you should refresh it before they arrive. Beside that the shower was tiny and the bad were very hard. The WiFi was worst! On the website they said that the hotel was 13km from Rome city, which was not the case. The hotel was 40min from the city by train.
The reason why we did this trip to Rome was special for my bday (10/10), I exxpected at least a Happy birthday from the hotel but unfortunately it was not the case. Only annoyed people on the reception (Martinna).
So for me the hotel has a rates from 1/5 because there was 1 smal old man that helped us the last day on the reception for our cab, he gived us the information needed with a smile. The other thing that was fine as well was the breackfast, not top but ok.

The best of 6 hotels we stayed at throughout Italy

This hotel is very clean and we were very comfortable in the room as well as lounging in the lobby area. They have a large lap pool out back and a fitness center downstairs in the spa area. The staff is Wonderful and they speak English pretty good. They were all friendly and helpful with a smile. They made us feel welcome.
This hotel has a fabulous restaurant just downstairs. Their food is 5 star, reasonably priced and the menu changes daily so we never got bored eating there.. The breakfast was very good as well.
The neighborhood is not very attracting, however, I gave it a high rating as there is a bus stop right across the street and a suoermarket right next door with a small strip mall and a pharmacy a short walk away. We felt the nightly price was very reasonable.
I highly recommend anyone staying here.

Not bad could be better

The shower was extremely small, the pool closed at 6pm which was way too early during summer. it was a great pool but ubderutilised.
The hotel has potential but didn't quite hit the spot. 5km from Villa Adriana and Villa D'Este easy drive and apparently bus stops in front of hotel-timetable incomprehensible. Not many Cafes nearby but Cafe Risto in shopping centre excellent value. Would recommend with warning to expect too much. GPS location not accurate.

Classic Italian spa hotel close to Hadrian's Villa

The hotel was almost empty, but still they put us in a room on the street side. I don't get it. We would have had a completely different experience with a view of the splendid gardens. Instead we looked out through dirty windows onto the parking lot. I could have asked for another room, but sometimes you're so pooped from a day of traveling that you don't want to bother for just one night. Generous with towels. Bedding adequate. Breakfast excellent with formal waiters.

Nice Hotel NOT NEAR Villa D'Este

There is much to lead one to think that staying here is a short walk to the Villa. It is many KM away. Nevertheless, the staff was terrific and the restaurant served us a very nice dinner -- once we found it. I would suggest more information on where it is and how to get there.

Best location and value! A gem to find!

This hotel is a gem. Location is superb, It is 5 to 15 minute walk to most attractions. Hotel staff speaks fluent english and has been super helpful with suggestions and information from dinner to attractions to see and how to get there, making it an easy stay. The hotel is located in a 500 year old building on the same square as the Pantheon with an amazing view onto the square below. Breakfast is served in the courtyard on the first floor, and is of the highest quality!

Good Hotel for Overnight

My cousin and I stayed here overnight before a day trip to Tivoli and Hadrian's Villa. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived late, so we did not have dinner at the hotel. Breakfast was great with lots of options for fruit, breads, meat & cheese, and pastries. The surrounding area isn't all that exciting, but we had a car so there was no need to walk anywhere local. Parking was easy in their lot. I can certainly see this as more of a 'business hotel' than a memorable place to stay.

Excellent accommodation around 10kms from Tivoli

Hotel was very large and caters mainly for large conferences as well as others. Reception staff rather off-hand but waiter in restaurant for dinner excellent. The location of the hotel though is quite a distance from the main tourist attractions of Tivoli and you would need a car to get there. Nothing much around the hotel of tourist value and generally shabby and uncared for.

Rooms were lovely though and it was very good value for an overnight stay.

What a delight. Convenient to Villa Adriana and fairly near to Tivoli, the hotel was easy to find and had good parking. This was a genuine 4-star experience.

In Rome, we had just come from Hotel Giada which
claimed 3-stars but weren't even remotely close to
the Hotel Duca d'Este. Breakfast was good and
service was impeccable. Unfortunately NOT convenient for those exploring Rome.

Our hotel smelled of intense odor of the sulfur from the baths for several hour. My husband had problems sleeping because of this odor,
The hotel location made it the only place to eat and although the food was not bad it had no real taste.

Grand hotel Duca E'Este - Worst hotel EVER.

This hotel has got to be the worst hotel I've ever been to. The carpets were disintegrating and in the corners there were MASSIVE dust bunnies. The bed sheets were stained, and the wall paper was black in areas and hanging off the walls. The bathroom was so filthy and looked like it had never been cleaned as there were dried soap suds over the shower. It was so bad we had to walk out even though we had already paid. The pictures they use to advertise are either very old or very well photo shopped. Trust me when I say do not stay at this hotel, even just for hygiene reasons.

One of the best in Tivoli

A comfortable, attractive hotel with a huge lobby, restaurant, and breakfast room. Our room was well appointed & clean. The staff was friendly. Parking is abundant. Several cafes & a supermarket are within walking distance. The problem is with the town itself. Bumper to bumper traffic nearly all day long with the rudest drivers we've ever seen but this is not the hotel's fault. It's an easy drive (traffic not withstanding) to the Villa d'Este & Villa Adriana, both of which require considerable walking/climbing steps. Not sure how the public transportation is but we were told the bus stop is near the hotel. And on the plus side one can stay here, visit the Tivoli sites, & rest before dealing with the challenges of returning to Rome by car.

This is not a hotel I would recommend for anyone. It is situated between Rome and Tivoli in a run-down neighborhood. Many of the front desk staff were very rude and useless when asked questions about getting around or for information about Rome. The barstaff were very nice, helpful, and almost made up for the front desk staff. I would recommend checking out other hotels before booking this one.

Good hotel, poor location!

Our party of four wanted a base to explore Tivoli and its surroundings. We had decided to rent a car, which is necessary as the hotel is several kms out of Tivoli itself, in a busy industrial area. Bagni di Tivoli station however is nearby and trains to Rome are quick and cheap, albeit only hourly. The hotel was very comfortable, the staff pleasant and the buffet breakfast better than we have found in other parts of Italy. It's a shame that its ubiquitous mirror glass is being rapidly corroded by the local sulphorous atmosphere: a poor design decision that now clouds the view from every room!

Old hotel with bad services, far from everything, Not even 1 star

We spent two nights here in late August and would not reccomend this hotel. We booked this hotel from Italy and when we called the quoted rate was almost double the on-line rate. Upon arrival the water came out of the taps orange. The air conditioning did not work and even though we made several complaints nothing was ever done. The place was empty and they told us they were booked and couldn't move us. Several of the staff told us to open the window. It was in the high 30's while we were there and the air outside smells like sulfur. We were told that there was a restaurant within a 10 minute walk, which turned out to be a 15 minute drive. Everything we asked for they had just run out of, maps, brochure's for the gardens, etc. The main garden is over 10 kilometers away. Horrible service.

Nice modern hotel offering spa facilities, but only at extra cost. The outside pool was in poor condition (dirty water with floating tree debris). The reception staff were very friendly, and helped with finding addresses on their internet.

3 star hotel at best.

Breakfast was inedible. Even though it was included in the room, we couldn’t use it.
Location is bad. Nothing close by. Was told pool opened at 10, but at 10.30 they were still cleaning it and we were told we couldn’t use it. Receptionists told us just to get in - poolcleaner told us no. We gave up. Room was at first glance nice - but when you actually looked it was old, moldy and not clean.

Ho trascorso un soggiorno eccellente come al solito. Il personale è gentile e disponibile come sempre. Uso questo hotel ogni visita a Roma ed è il mio preferito. Il Check in è semplice e veloce, le camere sempre pulite e ben tenute, il servizio è ottimo.

L’albergo a 5 km dall uscita del autostrada , non è un hotel economico (156 due adulti è una bambina) ma questo non sarebbe un problema se ne valesse la pena .
- le camere solo apparentemente vecchie Con moquette ( non lo consiglio per gli allergici alla polvere )
- i letti sono presumo vecchi perché molto scomodi , io ho dormito su un letto singolo ma ad una certa ora ho dovuto cambiare letto.
Onestamente non lo consiglio.
Come pro posso dire che la struttura è importante e molto grande , è molto pulita in generale ( la moquette ha assorbito la polvere nei decenni quindi impossibile da pulire )
Se provassero ad investire qualcosa sarebbe una scelta vincente , via la moquette , via una parte di arredo troppo vecchia e via i letti.

Goed hotel, hier en daar wat gedateerd maar dat vonden wij niet storend. Ontbijt uitgebreid en goed. Personeel correct en hulpvaardig. Receptiepersoneel echter niet altijd even vriendelijk en verkregen informatie over a.o. kopen van bustickets, bestellen van een taxi bleek meermaals onjuist hetgeen ons onnodig extra geld zou hebben gekost.

L'hotel e' bello e molto grande, pero' dovrebbe essere ristrutturato un pochino. La moquette e la carta da parati, danno la sensazione di vecchio . Buon ristorante e discreta colazione. Ampio parcheggio ,comodo.Wi Fi malfunzionante
