They did have security in the hotel. We wanted to get some food and there is nothing near by. Staff told us it was not safe to walk around. Hotel was extremely modern and lots of new technology. Great staff and service.

Hotel Domidea was great, room was spotless, comfortable, the building and room look like brand new, staff was very helpful and always willing to help. Breakfast was great and the dining area was good too. It is located outside of the touristic area like 20 min to Trastevere but they provide shuttle to the Substation and Plaza di La República which is very convenient. Highly recommended.

Overall that was our quickest option for a change because our previous hotel the air conditioning broke down and we had to look for another place. The overall hotel is great pretty new friendly staff, clean, good breakfast but the area and where is located not good. Right next to the buss station where is a lot of noise coming but for one night we could make it. Also the long walks around the city exhausted us so did not make much of a difference for us, but is something to keep in mind.

We had a great stay. Both the room and bathroom are very clean and spacious. The breakfast spread is great, eggs, cereal, yogurt, pastries, fruit, etc. We had a rental car and they have a parking lot and garage on location for free. Staff is friendly, they gave our daughter an ice cream while we settled the room bill. Would highly reccomend.

Not too much around the area to see or shop, other than a medium sized park, but the hotel would transfer you for free to the Metro Station, and pick you up (Schedule a time, or call 1/2 hour before the pickup)

Lovely hotel ! It’s not in the center of Rome but is close enough to a TrenItalia stop so it is easy to navigate . The only issue I had was that they don’t have self service laundry and the closest restaurants in the area are a bit of walk . Still , I had a very nice stay and the breakfast room was pretty good .

It is a great hotel with a good breakfast option. The only downside is that it’s quite far from the airport and the city centre. Taxi prices adds up due to the distance. Other than that, the room is nice and cosy.

This hotel was below average.
Staff were inattentive, they sit behind a wall and not at the front desk, we waited many times at the front counter until one of the staff members peered around the door to see if anyone was there after multiple minutes of waiting.
The hotel advertises they do in house laundry however when asked this is not the case.
The hotel feels as if it is an old retirement home or an old hospital and its eerie.
The front of the property is gated off by two big silver sliding doors and one footpath gate where the staff control the opening and closing, on two occassions we had to press the intercom and wait for many minute's until someone finally picked up and let us in, it made us feel very unsafe as the location of this hotel is far from the inner city and in a run down area.
The time we were there bar was closed which was disappointing, not that we had high hopes.
We will not be returning.

This was one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at. They advertised a free shuttle to the subway which is a cst of 3 euros per person and not in fact free.

Our first night our a/c was broken and they had 3 people come confirm before agreeing to switch our room. The walls are so thin and you could hear everyone walking in and out. The staff were rude and not helpful, and the rooms were filthy. I highly recommend booking accomadation elsewhere.

Room was not cleaned because of some cloth tags lying on floor saying that it is disrespect to our cleaning staff.

Horrible experience with the staff at the hotel and travelocity. My son broke his foot and they suggested for us to switch hotels so it would be easier to get around. They had us pay for both hotels and marked us a no show. We paid for 2 hotel rooms.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. No coffee/tea making facilities in room. Location not good and although there is a bus to nearest metro (not far from hotel), this is a tricky journey if you are a nervous passenger!! Also quite a trek with nearest metro 10-15 minutes by bus then 12 stops to Termini (main station in Rome). No bars or shops in local area. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you’re planning a sightseeing trip to Rome. Best to stay outside of main city for cheaper accommodation but try to get near a metro, Rebbia is fine as near metro and could get cheaper hotel than in central Rome, also journeys into centre are really easy from here.

Let me start by saying the staff was really nice & helpful. However the rooms look nothing like the pictures online.
The walls are yellow and they have a bed in it with one photo on the wall. It should be ranked a 3 star at best, because there is nothing special or upscale about the hotel at all! Keep in mind I had the Deluxe upgraded suite!
The location 2 miles from the subway. Which was convenient

I don't care how many \"good\" reviews they have. Walls we're like paper (found a lovely booger on one when we checked in). First and third nights (out of 3) we could very clearly and loudly hear the people we shared a wall with. It's not even that they were extra loud... Could hear the dude peeing! Their talking kept us up for a while. Bathroom is a tight space. Bidet smack in the middle of the way. I'm only 5' 4\" - 115 lbs and I felt cramped. Front desk ladies were nice enough, nothing spectacular but not rude. The guy at the desk was not friendly nor rude... He was just kind of there. Not very welcoming. When I booked I thought I had gotten breakfast included, apparently not. It was way too much money. 10 euro per person per day for mediocre selection. 10 min bus ride, 10 min metro ride to Colosseum. Another 10 to Vatican. Beds we're comfortable but considering it's not centrally located along with everything else, it's definitely not worth the money. I'm very disappointed and feel like I wasted several hundred dollars.

Terrible location positively dangerous area!

I wouldn't want to be stuck at the tram station at night a dangerous refugee camp is where it is located! And there is no courtesy shuttle from their hotel it is 3 euros a person do not be fooled!

This is a good business hotel. The staff was very pleasant and responsive to all requests. The room was well maintained and the hotel, overall, very clean. The room was quiet (minimal outside noise and the heat/air unit blower also quiet) and wi-fi always worked. The breakfast buffet was extensive, evening bar Happy Hour buffet was good for the price but the ILF restaurant next to the hotel is great for dinner. The location has easy access to public transportation and getting taxi is easy. The only improvements I recommend are for the reception clerks to ensure the guests are aware that the room key card is also used to maintain power to the room. Also, there are outlets above the desk and bedside tables for ease of connecting electronics but none of the outlets include USB ports. This is becoming a standard in business hotels. (But if you forgot your power converter, the hotel will loan one to you for a 5 EUR deposit.)

We had a great time at Hotel Domidea, the breakfast was on point and my little son enjoyed himself.
Decent distance to Airport and very easy to get to cities and tourists attraction centres by Bus and trains
The staffs helped me to organise a surprise birthday for my wife and she was really surprised and happy.

A good quality hotel, staff were friendly and helpful. Good local transport links, 10 mins away from Metro line on bus then a 20 metro journey in to Rome centre. Room was clean and spacious. Only downside is that there was not tea/coffee making facilities.

nothing to complain about this hotel. when I booked it I saw that the location was an issue for some people. I actual thought it was good. Not being in the city where there are so many crowds worked for me. it is easy to get from hotel to all the tourist places it is literally a 1 min walk to bus stop and then grab metro and get out in the area you want to see. you have 90 min on your ticket and it cost 1.50. you can buy they ticket right in front of the bus stop at the store. dinner at food is love was delicious and not so expensive compared to the city of Rome. the most expensive part is the taxi from the hotel to airport. but for amount of.moeny you save on the hotel it really doesn't compare. hope this helps.

Spacious rooms 2 km bus ride from Rebibbia metro

We had a spacious business suite and everything worked well. A few more chairs would be useful. The air conditioning worked well. The hotel is a little out of the way, but is close to an expressway exit and a short walk from the station for suburban train 2. Buses 437 and 447 take you to the Rebibbia metro station. Our package included the hotel shuttle to the metro, but this is not available on Sundays. Breakfast was very good.

Needs upgrading badly...

Let me start by saying that the staff and cleanliness of this hotel are excellent. However, the hotel itself needs updating and badly. Initially we were placed in room 114, the A/C unit hummed/purred/splattered so loudly that after a conversation between the reception staff and maintenance, they decided to move us to 116. It was a little better but still too noisy to sleep. We told the staff again and they told us that all the A/C units on the first floor are connected even with us turning off our system, nothing can be done about the noise. If Expedia would allow the upload of an audio recording, I would attach it. The level of noise from that system is insane. If you like to sleep when you are on vacation, consider another hotel. For a four star, we expected a lot more, we are highly disappointed and would absolutely never stay again, even if it were free!! Additionally, they advertise laundry services on Expedia (one of the reasons we booked them since we were there for 10 days) and when I asked the staff about it they told me they were closed for the summer holidays.

Decent hotel in a not so great area

The hotel is far from Rome. If you do not have a car, you can take public transportation as I heard from the receptionist, but you have to walk for a bit to the station. It is in a industrial area, nothing is around. I was scared to walk in that neighborhood. Across the street from the hotel, there were two big garbage containers with lots of trash around on the ground, making the sights unattractive. They do not have a restaurant on site, so if you are hungry, you have to wait until after 7pm to go to a couple of restaurants nearby. We had two hungry kids who could not wait, so we took the car and drove to Rome, about 20-25 minutes away. Keep in mind, there are lots of stop lights and small streets, not like in the US. The hotel staff was wonderful, very polite and helpful. They have great breakfast in the morning at a cost. Boiled eggs, sausages, scrambled eggs, ham, milk and cereals, coffee and tea, juices, a variety of muffins, scones, donuts, hash browns, etc. European hotel breakfast is awesome compared to the US. I wish the hotel was in a different area, but you get what you pay for if you only stay inside :). Nothing to do or go, so you are better off paying a little more and stay in Rome. The money you spend on gas and time everyday for the commute to Rome, I would spend it on a hotel in a city. Lastly, the air conditioning system is very loud. It was so annoying that I could not sleep at night.

Domidea is a good hotel. Worth the money. But Hotels.com is a joke. I didn't get the nights counted because of the thievery way the app works. Shame on hotels com. Better get the rooms directly with Domidea. Get same rate. I rated the hotel very good. No stars for Hotels.com. Minus 5 stars.

Staff not willing to admit mistake

A group of friends and I stayed in two different rooms for the weekend. The manager at the front desk told my room that we had free breakfast included, and that our other room did not. After eating two breakfasts costing 8 euros per person, we find out that our room did not have breakfast included, while our other room did. We were frustrated that the manager refused to admit he had made a mistake. We also would not have eaten breakfast there for 8 euros if we had known. Also the wifi sucks.

We spent a lot for taxi everyday to go to center and not all taxis willing to return us to hotel, they said is out of center.
Only breakfast no restaurant for having lunch or dinner we had to order food from next door restaurant which was expensive .

The hotel is located a little far from the Vatican City and Rome city center. So taxi fare can add up. There isn't much going on around the hotel. The rooms are spacious and the staff is polite. Breakfast spread was decent. No room service.

The hotel is extremely clean, pleasant staff, excellent food, BUT the location is a little unsettling but manageable. The bus is 1.50 and takes you to the metro at Recibbia. They do have a hotel van that accommodates from the station certain times of the day. Other than that the stay is wonderful
The restaurant next to hotel is very good as well (salmon dish excellent).

A very easy nice commute into the centre of Rome for all of the major attractions.
The hotel staff were absolutely amazing, very friendly and helpful. One in particular stood out from the rest, Melania, she was so helpful with recommendations and directions.
I would definitely book this hotel again when I am next in Rome!

We ended up staying at this hotel since we weren't able to find something at a more central location in Rome at the last minute. The hotel was OK in general. The staff were generally friendly. The breakfast buffet was nice. The biggest issue we ran into was that none, absolutely none, of the power sockets in the hotel were working. We had to charge our phones at the hotel lobby. The staff had offered a different room though.

Overall, nice staff dealing with a not so great hotel.

Great hotel in Rome at a great price

I was pleasantly surprised by how clean, modern, and inexpensive the hotel was. The historic attractions were a 10 minute bus ride and 30 minute metro ride from the hotel, which is much easier than trying to drive and park in Rome. The restaurant next door, FIL (Food is Love), was also amazing. The inclusion of free, secured parking was just another great bonus. I will definitely stay there again if ever back in Rome.

Nice Hotel too far from the centre of Rome

The standard hotel room that we stayed in was clean and very basic. The room did not have an iron or ironing board and we had to collect a key from reception and travel to the second floor to use the iron which was irritating and time consuming. The room did not have a clock and the English channels on the TV did not work. We were also unfortunate to be given a room facing the inner court yard of the building, there was no natural sunlight and the room was very dark and depressing. The staff did however allocate another room which was slighty better. The hotel also seems to be a local boarding house for police staff working at the police station across the road. The staff however were very helpful and customer service excellent. I would not recommend this hotel for a sightseeing trip to Rome. It required a 15 minute bus journey to the metro station and a 30 minute journey into Termini or longer for other stations such as Collosae. You would also need to purchase a daily BIT ticket €1.50 for a single trip (which you can buy in advance because the bus does not take cash) or buy a travel card, so travelling can become quite expensive. Other than that we had a fantastic trip to Rome....it's a must see city. Looking forward to going back but I would not stay here again.

Domeida is ok but not great

Hotel Domedia is a comfortable enough hotel but isnt in a very nice area. Taxi in and out was ok, and they do have a hotel shuttle bus, but I wouldnt want to wander around there. It is a long way out of Rome centre. Hotel interior is a bit like a leisure centre, and rooms dont have carpet but are tiles. Overall it was ok

A very budget looking hotel, not worth the cost of stay and city taxes (€12 per pax for two nights) paid but it is expensive because it is near Rome city centre. Didn't inform us about the complimentary breakfast until we probed. Two restaurants nearby. A buffet serving international food and an Italian restaurant with very friendly chef serving you directly.

I would do it again...

I really enjoyed my stay there.
Pros: The staff was extremely nice and helpful. They helped us with the bus and metro routes and how the maneuver ourselves around the city. The room was very clean and a good size for four of us.
Cons: It was a good distance from the airport (FCO) and cost us 80 euros (4 of us) to get there. It also wasn't that close to the major sites BUT the bus stop is a 5 minute walk away and it drops you right at the train station.
Overall: All things considered, given the price, cleanliness, staff and proximity to the bus line, I would definitely return.

We wanted to check out at 6AM and we asked them to give us breakfas pack but they didn't cooperate and refused to do that, when we wanted to check out the staff asked to pay for the bar, although we had not used. Finally we didnt pay but it wasn't expectable.

Very clean hotel, very friendly staff, free car parking outside, a bir far from rome centre and alao a bit far from metro station, but the hotel vas very clean and modern, stayed there for 3 nights in september 2015.

We spent three nights in the Domidea in Rome. The family room was perfect with two rooms linked with a double and two singles. The hotel is situated in a predominately industrial area but has a nearby train station to Central Rome with trains up until 10pm. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful throughout. A good base offering good value holiday. The Roma Pass is recommended for all public transport needs.
