Lovely resort with amazing views from every unit, fantastic restaurant on site and very courteous staff. The only drawback is that you are a bit further away from the main areas/night markets but then with the Grab App you can get anywhere in 1/2 hour.

This property was beautiful. Staff and service excellent in all areas. It is a bit far from shops so if you want to get out and about it’s not the easiest. Have a plan for that or start up a grab account (an app like uber). If you want to pool hang and relax, this is the spot for you.

We stayed two weeks and I wish we could have stayed longer. Super clean, gorgeous location, 24/7 front desk service, and the staff were absolutely amazing. Everyone greeted us with smiles for the entire stay and were so kind and thoughtful. Aster was fantastic and such a joy to chat with. We really appreciated all her tips and suggestions. The food at the hotel restaurant was delicious too. This was the highlight of my year and I will really this place and the team. Thank you so much!

Under going Remodeling/painting, not mentioned on booking site or no email informing us the section of building we booked was being remodeled. Agreed to refund us for 2 nights and we relocated to another hotel.
Restaurant closed at 8pm??? No room service after 8pm
1st for me at a 5 star hotel
Buffett breakfast, the worst I've every expired in a 5 star, staff was just plain lazy untrained. Would not pick up used dishes. When we were leaving the hotel I was told its off season! Ohh, I see so maybe you should be a 2 star off season. Let me tell Centra their doing it wrong, they should followyour example.

We stayed for nine nights at this property. I would like to give an honest and objective review of this property as it is a tale of two halves. Firstly on the positive side the property itself is excellent. The apartments are spacious, nicely furnished and well equipped (although with some evidence of some ageing, wear and tear). They have amazing views out to the ocean and are kept spotlessly clean. The pool areas are also very nice (although there is a serious shortage of sunloungers - 12 for the entire resort, luckily it was very quiet!). All staff are very helpful. On the negatives the resort is on a steep hill so not suitable for the elderly or anyone with mobility issues. It does not have a beach as the images suggest. The sea frontage is rocky and dirty and not suitable for swimming. More importantly the resort is literally in the middle of nowhere!! You have to get a taxi anywhere at a minimum cost of $12 - $15 each way which adds a significant cost to your evening out! There is one restaurant in the property which closes at 19:30, far too early and the place is dead by 19:00. The restaurant is OK and reasonably priced, but obviously only one venue is very restrictive and repetitive. The same restaurant serves a very limited breakfast which at best was OK. If you want to go to Ko Samui, stay in good quality accommodation and do absolutely nothing then this place is worth considering. However, not great for anyone looking for more to do, nice beach access etc.

A Great Value

Firstly, this is not a 5 star property but I knew that based on the price. That being said, the value was great. The property is nice and secluded. Great views of the water but don’t expect much of a beach.
The pools looked amazing but were closed due to Covid.
Breakfast was a la carte and was above average but not excellent.

We stayed at shasa the first week of November. The respite was pretty quiet with not too many guests and we very much enjoyed the relaxation.
As many reviews mention, the resort is not close to any ‘city life’ but we found a regular taxi driver via a friend and he took us home from Lamai , chaweng and bophut several days. A regular taxi back from Lamai was 15usd-ish. We didn’t mind that.
For breakfast we had our own choice from the menu which we liked and then we’d take the hotel shuttle to Lamai or chaweng for the evening.
Staff were lovely, sometimes a challenge with English.
We would visit ShaSa again, it is a great place to catch some relaxation.

Spacious modern open concept design. Nice swimming pools. Friendly staffs. Not impressed with the Beach, it’s rocky and muddy. But they provide shuttle to Lamai & Chaweng beach which are nice.
Toiletries bottles are made of glass, not child friendly.
My child accidentally broke the shampoo and I was charged. Not too happy about that.

Absolutely a hidden 5-star gem in Koh Samui. The rooms were HUGE, I would qualify my 3-bedroom suite as a full-fledged house really! Everything is well-equipped and the bath tub was the size of a king-sized bed! The staff were also very pleasant and made our stay very comfortable.

The beach is nothing to shout about, but they do have a sister resort in Chaweng Beach that allows us access to the beach there with lounge facilities which we greatly appreciated.

The hotel is at a really isolated location without any actual beach accessible at all. The thin rocky coast is covered by trash. The only one restaurant near by is in the hotel. Only two shuttles out and taxi to anywhere is quite expensive. Cold receptionists. Insanely restricted policy because they know people will regret. Sincerely recommend to think twice before booking.

Great location for a relaxing get away. We had a one bed apartment that was huge. A sprawling hot tub (enough for 4) with ocean views was a treat in the bathroom. Spotless and well designed. You'd want to move in! Loved the food and enjoyed the three pools with beach and ocean views.

Overall the property is fantastic. The rooms are fabulous and equipped with everything you need for a family stay, especially given we were staying for 9 nights. The only downside is the breakfast which is very limited. The view from the room is amazing. Unfortunately there is really nothing to do in the local area. That said, if you are looking for complete relaxation and not looking to leave the resort you couldn’t ask for a better property.

Beautiful beach view, pools and quiet location

We had a lovely relaxing stay at Shasa Resort and Residences. The staff were fantastically helpful, the room was super clean. The restaurant was good values. The pools were delightful and the atmosphere relaxed and quiet. The only thing to note was the distance from the Resort to Chewang, around 800 baht. I strongly suggest making use of the free shuttle service provided by the Resort. I found the Taxi drivers difficult to work with, the quoted much more than the meter reading eventually stated and were not keen to use meters at all. Obviously, this was not anything to do with the wonderful Resort. Will definitely visit again.

We had our honeymoon at Shasa, we stayed for 10 days and absolutely loved it. The resort is located a distance from the main tourist hubs so a rental car or scooter is necessary, the benefit of this is when you escape the hustle and bustle you arrive at the resort which is totally tranquil and peaceful. The resort and staff are fantastic, the only disappointing thing is that the beach at the resort is full of rubbish. We would highly recommend the resort and are likely to return.

Beautiful resort but boring

When they say Shasa is away from the hustle and bustle... it’s AWAY from everything. The resort is beautiful, amazing views, great pools, and a great restaurant made for a great stay.
The biggest downside was how far away you are from anything else on Koh Samui, even a 7-11 which are everywhere in Thailand. the shuttles only run to the town at 9am or 4pm which aren’t very convenient, and you’re on your own to get back which will run between 800 and 1000 baht depending on the timing. We were one of the only people at the resort from Jan 4-Jan 7 and the staff repeatedly told us the entire resort was full.... which was even weirder.
Something that would help is to offer an easier way to get into the city from the hotel or offer more amenities at the hotel if it’s that secluded from the rest of Koh Samui.

Five star luxury next to a private beach

This was a wonderful hotel, with its own private (small) beach, 3 pools, and a wonderful restaurant with great Thai and western food.

The staff were wonderful and helpful. The rooms were extremely large! And clean with there own washing machines and driers which was very welcome after travelling around Thailand for two weeks.

There is a free shuttle bus to the local public beaches and towns which you should take advantage of.

I would definatley recommend this place in koh Samui. It is beatuiful and makes you feel like you have been treated to abbot of luxury.

Note this hotel is in the middle of nowhere with nothing around it, if you wanted something a bit more centrally placed near restaurants etc

This was ok for us as we wanted something relaxing and quiet.

Brilliant resort, staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Beautiful pools and the food was excellent. We chose this resort as it was located away from the main tourist area and the hotel provides a free shuttle service twice daily to Chaweng and Lamai beaches. It would have been good to have a morning service available, but we were able to book the hotel car to take us anywhere we need to go at reasonable rates. In hindsight, being closer to shops, restaurants and massages would have been good, but we could not fault the resort in any way and will definitely be back. It is so quiet and peaceful and just right for the restful break my family and I wanted and needed. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay exceptional!

We absolutely loved our stay at the ShaSa Resort. From the beautiful grounds, to the beachfront location, to the spectacular room, this was just a fantastic place to stay. The multiple infinity pools were favorites. The staff and on site restaurant were great also. If I had one suggestion, it would be to expand the exercise room. This hotel is a great place to relax! We stayed at this hotel for spring break. We are a family of four and we were looking for a quiet and family friendly hotel with a kids club free of charge. The resort is in a quiet area and off the main road, which we really liked. The kids enjoyed the kids club and the pools. The spa was amazing. The food at the restaurant was really good. The breakfast was also really good. On some days it was a la carte breakfast and on other days buffet breakfast, or both. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. We booked a half-day safari through the hotel and we had a great time. The hotel also offers a free shuttle to Chaweng Beach and Lamai Beach. Free wi-fi is available throughout the hotel. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to families with kids and to couples who want a quiet, relaxing vacation.

Nice facilities, pool, etc. Service is slow and well below Thai standards. Location is pretty bad. The prices are completely out of scale. Since its far from everything, if you happen to be stuck for dinner you'll pay Michelin star prices for good food, but noting close to worth the prices. Some beer was past expiration date, so little choices there, wine was at Singapore prices and I wouldn't trust it's storage.
In summary, nice rooms, bring your own food, rent a car and you are fine, otherwise go to Hawaii.

Hotel's beach is a small rocky shore with lots of garbage strewn around. Pools are ok but staff are few and far between. Have to chase one down for towels or drinks.

Too far from real beach (40 minutes), shuttle only twice a day, so not very convenient.

Only one restaurant, food is OK and overpriced.

wanted a location away from the crowds and we got

As we were on the island for a 10 day stay (middle April) and a wedding to attend included, we looked for a very nice but secluded hotel away from the busy centres, we had a car hired for the stay so travelling was not an issue.
Shasa ticked all the boxes for us, and from the minute we arrived we were not disappointed, the staff were very friendly from start to finish, and the room was a suite (323) with spectacular views from your window, very clean and spacious. as it was end of season it was even quieter than expected which meant the 3 pools were virtually our own private pools. driving was not an issue as long as you keep your line and let the scooters weave in and out of you from all directions but as there is only 1 main road around the island which takes 90 mins to drive round plus a road through the middle of the jungle. As the Shasa was quiet we did not have more than one evening meal there which was ok but a little expensive. the breakfast was spot on with loads of choice of good quality food.
as 2x 50yr olds the Shasa was all it was advertised and we would recommend if you have a car.

A Thai hideaway

Ok this place could in all honesty do with a renovation of some sorts but this is Thailand and in reality most places could do with a refresh. This was clearly once a grand hotel however is by no means fallen by the way and the prices reflect excellent value for money. In summary: breakfast average, mini bar standard prices, we didn't eat in restaurant as we had two young kids under 3 so had room service every night same menu and was okish with semi raw prawns one night..... But other than that reasonably good we were well looked after around the pool however no complimentary water around the pool which is surprising for any hotel these days.

Would We stay again yes as lots of space for the money 2bed kitchen and living room for reasonable money and excellent views.

Nice & Quiet - great for kids :)

We loved our stay!!! We have a 3yr old & 5yr old and they had a great time. All the staff were kind and friendly and excellent with the kids. We were a bit hesitant using it the babysitting service before coming but soon felt very at ease once arriving and our kids loved our in house babysitter :)

Rooms are huge! Our kids slept in every day and had plenty of room to play. The resort was very quiet which suited us.

There are a few negative things but it didn't spoil our stay. The food is over priced, it is tasty but still pricey for what it is. The whole resort needs a paint job, peeling paint on buildings & furniture. The free shuttle is excellent but they should maybe look at doing some more times. It really is a lovely place to stay and our room was always clean and staff were wonderful :)

Very nice check-in with an almost \"boutique\", personalized feel.
Suites are very spacious and well laid out. Very large balconies with gorgeous views.
From our room, we were lucky to be able to see both Sunrise and Sunsets.
On-site restaurant offers great local food and a decent wine list.
Highly recommended !

Very attractive grounds, swimming pool etc. However the resort is let down by the rubbish that collects in the sea either side of the decking - why not clear it each day? We were upgraded to a beautiful suite with a full kitchen that is unnecessary really as the cost to use the microwave, cooker etc prohibits it. It would have been better if the pool bar was open - I guess it wasn't as there were so few guests staying. Night entertainment would help as location of the hotel is a little far out

Great, but the lobby needed a bar or tea/coffee facilities. The kitchenette in the room you had to pay extra for which I thought was a bit steep as it should have been included in the room price- especially when you have young children you need to use the microwave to heat things up, and unless you paid an extra 1200 baht you couldn't do this. Otherwise was a great experience.

In general our family had great stay of 4 nights. We booked deluxe 3 bedroom. The room is very spacious with great sea view. Master bedroom, living and dining are especially huge. Hotel has 3 swimming pool and you seldom see others in the pool because there were only total 22 rooms in the resort. Staffs are friendly and English skill is good enough. We tried their restaurant for twice. It was very good though not cheap. Breakfast was just ok. The choice was pretty limited but they try the best as this is a small resort. The shortcoming of this hotel is the location. 30 minutes from Chawang and airport. Isn't closer to any place. We knew it so chose to rent a car. It was absolutely right decision. Anyway, we enjoyed ShaSa!

Great Hotel... wonderful stay

The hotel is 40 mins from the airport and not close to anything in particular, which was a bit of a shock when I arrived, but I got over that quickly. My room was enormous and comfortable, the hotel had 3 pools and a beach, there really was no need to go anywhere. But if you wanted to go explore the island there were daily shuttles to take to to 2 different towns. The spa was heavenly, the gym was tiny (but I had no intention using it so did not care). They only had one restaurant which worried me at first, but the menu was so large and diverse that I had nothing to worry about. The outside of the buildings and the outdoor furniture looked like it needed a little love - but I believe that is the curse of being that close to the ocean and was not that bad that it bothered me. I would definitely recommend this, it is a perfect island sanctuary.

Top Quality Hotel

Stayed in an excellent two bedroom suite. Huge bedrooms with en-suite, master room has bath along with shower, 2nd bedroom shower only. Living area also included kitchen. All rooms had rooms facing the sea with a large balcony off the living area. Hotel is adjacent to the sea with it's own private stretch of shore. Staff extremely friendly and competent. A couple of good size pools. Only downside is the lack of a decent beach. An attempt is being made to import and retain sand, but continues to wash away. Beaches are available nearby and a free bus is provided daily to two main resorts on Samui; Lamai and Chaweng.

Result was an extremely relaxing stay. Would go again.

Far away and not providing 5 star rating service!

Overall, I had a wonderful trip and enjoyed my stay. The restaurant food, kids room, and hotel room were clean and exceeded my expectations in many ways. On the flip side, the beach was all rocks, the hotel is far from everything, very limited escort/taxi service to nice beaches or city, only the one restaurant with limited hours and service. A 5 star rating does mean they provide lots of services for guests and they do try hard but staff were slow and lazy. Maybe this is the Thai or island life but I have experienced much better service at Conrad and other hotels. I will not return to this one.

The room was so big and view was so great too. All staff were very helpful and nice. The shuttle bus service was so great. The resturant Beyond the sea serve with good meal. The only fail part was just the lighting inside our room. Even though it got lots of light, it was not bright enough. Overall, I still rate it an excellent.

1) It is a nice hotel with superior staff service. The location however is remote and demands the presence of a rental car.

2) One thing of concern being a visitor with small kids, was the lack of safety measures towards the beach. No fence from beach chairs to prevent kids from accidentally falling off.

This was one of the wrong hotel bookings I made during my stay at samui... The hotel is too far off from any kind of scenic area... The beach here is abysmal... It smells really horrible on it... Covered in fungi and mould... I would recommend no one to go near there.... The only way to do anything here is to sit in the free shuttle and go to chaweng beach or lamai beach... Breakfast food is not good... very standard without change in menu... The only great thing about this hotel is the size of the rooms... I was in a 1 BHK and it was huge... Great place for a friend-cation.

Awesome villa - very relaxing. Great pools. Loved the giant bathtub that could fit all 4 of us (for funny photo booth type pis). Best part was lying on the lounge chair on the balcony looking over the sea- a great breeze. Wish the beach part were larger to walk along.

Restaurant had pretty good food though a bit pricey. Cocktails were just so-so. The Hawaiian Mojito was good.

The resort was at the bottom of the island and if you don't use the free hotel shuttle (twice a day) then be prepared to spend lots of money getting around town. Definitely probably best to rent scooters or a car for extended stays. The airport shuttle was 1000 baht and the hotel's shuttle is even more.

The spa offered sweet services but prices were so high no way we could try them.
The free activities offered throughout the day were great. Wish we were there a whole week to try more.

All in all, a super relaxing trip where you feel pampered.

We are regular guests coming from very beginning.We use to visit Samui twice a year.For last two years we tryed to stay also at other places but we found out that no other one in this category is better than Shasa.If you like comfort,space,good food and nice staff out of noisy tourist places do not look further.I can assure you that you will not be dissapointed.This time we stayed 10 days and after short break in Kuala Lumpur we are coming again back.Simply we can not resist and we will come again and again in the future.Thanks a lot to Shasa staff ,we feel with you like at home.

Very relaxing vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Shasa resort in Koh Samui.
The rooms were beautifully decorated, well kept and very spacious for our family of 5.
The resort has 3 pools all overlooking the ocean. The ocean that the resort is on is not exactly a swimming area. The resort does provide a very convenient shuttle to the swimming beaches, which we enjoyed about 3 times during noir vacation.
The resort's Beyond the Sea dining was very good. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet and dined for dinner 2 evenings.
We would definitely recommend this resort of you are looking for a more secluded area of Koh Samui. We would certainly recommend this facility to our family and friends.

Great hotel away from the crowds

We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys and spent 3 weeks at ShaSa resort. It is a beautiful resort at the southern tip of the island. The accommodation is great with ample room and great facilities. It has an excellent restaurant and brilliant staff that are always happy to help. We hired a car at the airport and this made life much easier to get around as the location is somewhat secluded. I would highly recommend ShaSa.

fantastic hotel

we stayed at the Shasa hotel for 2 full weeks with two kids and had a fantastic time. the suites are huge, the staff are very friendly and the resort is quiet and tucked away at the south of the island. even though its such a long trip from Europe we'd go back again as it was a great break. The staff were very helpful, lovely and polite and always there to help.

Affordable Relaxing Resort

Room is huge for 2 person, especially with the giant bath tub. Everything was pleasant, from breakfast buffet, swimming pool, and all staff are friendly. To wake up in the morning to see the seaview was great! we didnt realize it's like 30mins drive to chaweng, and coming back with cab cost 600Baht which is like lunch for 2 people. You need to stay in (and dine in) if you dont have any transportations. if we ever come back, I would prefer to stay closer to the town to save some Baht for shopping! haha..

beyond my wildest imagination !

giving this property 5 stars is under-rated. the ocean views are magnificent. rooms are the biggest ever. the smallest room in this hotel is 120sqm. bath tub is out of this world, measuring a large square 1.6m bv 1.6m, which is just slightly smaller than a king size bed. best of all, the price is very reasonable.

Excellent value for money

Excellent place - rooms are very big. We had a 2-bedroom suite, with more than enough space for 3 adults 1 kid and one toddler. The service is excellent and the onsite restaurant serves up-scale thai, local and western food at reasonable prices. There is also a nice kids club that we used a lot. This and the price makes it an obvious alternative to renting a villa. The only drawback is that its a bit far from everything, including the beaches (there is no real beach at the hotel, though pictures might suggest it). Closest one is about 5 km away. Tip: rent a car, either through the reception or through the agencies at the airport (recommended). Its inexpensive, convenient and easy to drive on Samui. I suggest to avoid National Car rental though, as we had a couple of bad experiences with them.

Great hotel on the beach

Whilst away from the main action of Chaweng and the glow stick wavers, this modern and hip hotel is perfect for a quite getaway. Food was great, with a modern menu and fitout, and the tradtional Thai dishes. The rooms; OMG! The biggest bath tub we have ever seen. Huge rooms; master bedroom, master ensuite, living areas, full kitchen, massive balcony with wide sweeping views south down the gulf of Thailand. Impressive! The staff were just a delight to deal with. Sam at reception could not do enough for us. What a great experience!

Beautiful apartments. Lovely view sea view. Service was great. Only problem is make sure you book room before arriving. We had trouble due to the fact we booked online at the hotel when we arrived because it was cheaper. But they ended giving us an upgrade due to the trouble it caused us. No restaurants or shop close by but we rented a car to travel around. Overall we would recommend this hotel

Room is great, NO Beach

we are family of 5 , 2 Adults and 3 teenagers spent 4 nights in Shasa Resorts.the Room is Huge and beautiful, with big balcony facing 3 pools and the Ocean.there is one Thai Restaurant which we tried 3 times over the time we stayed in Shasa. the food was OK. the most disappointing point for us was the fact that there is no Beach and no one mentioned it on the reviews or on the Hotel web site.the piece of \"so called\" beach there is between the last pool to the ocean is very dirty and I would expect the Hotel at least to take care of the rubbish.
if you are not interested in a beach Holiday, the Resort is great,it's a bit far and wild compering the other areas of Ko Samui which we liked. we rented a car and travel around the Island.

Superb place for peaceful rest and relaxation!

Right on the Gulf of Thailand so Gorgeous Location. I booked the smallest \"room\" which had a full kitchen, vast living room, large bedroom with queen bed, several closets and huge bathroom with beautiful separate bath and shower and 2 vanity sinks. Living room had sliding glass doors and large balcony will a queen sized chaise and a table that sat 4-6 people overlooking the pools and the Gulf. Breathtaking views and extremely clean rooms and lovely decor. The location of the resort is secluded. Since it is not near anything else, this is both a good and bad thing if you want any night life. There is only one restaurant for all of your meals. While the food is excellent, sometimes you just want a change and it would have been nice if they had brought in some live music at night. Even if it were just one guy strumming on a native instrument. The only music heard throughout the resort was \"musack\" -- Burt Bacharach was played in the Spa! Spa services were terrific. Get the Thai massage -- Awesome and only like $40 for 90 minutes. There are no nail or hair services at this resort. Also, no shopping. The resort's little shop has a few items for sale but limited to sunhats, sandals and swimsuits but no signature items and you'd better bring your own sunscreen. I was looking for a quiet, peaceful place for pure R&R where no one would bother me. It's exactly what I got here. I was the only American and yet everyone spoke English as their 2nd language.

Perfect relaxing stay :]

I have no complaints. It was perfect for a relaxing holiday. A wonderful spa offering amazing massages, very reasonable. A lovely restaurant offering a wide variety of food at excellent prices. Everything so cheap to purchase. Even with the rain definitely worth every penny spent. 31* on average daily. Booked an Elephant safari through the hotel superb experience. They have a shuttle bus which is free to Lamai and Cheweng beach twice daily. Local convenience store 15 minutes walk away and so safe. I had a deluxe suite overlooking the sea, building 2 room 233, superb deal via Expedia. I travelled alone however there was families, groups of lads, single women, couples etc. So suitable for everyone.

Private and spacious luxury

We rented a 2 bedroom deluxe apartment for one week and loved every moment of our stay. Private, spacious and luxurious, fantastic staff, great food and great pools. Clean. Lovely gardens, nice gym, nice spa. Free shuttle to Lamai Beach and Chaweng. Close to Tiger Park and Aquarium, and several beautiful Wats, including that of the Mummified Monk. One of the best small luxury resorts we have stayed in.

nice hotel for a rest

pretty and nice hotel, very clean and nice decorated suit, well trained staffs, always smelling
the view from the balcony is fabulous, I successfully took a pic of a yacht sailing in the beautiful blue sea
however the hotel is very far away from any local restaurants, even the nearest supermarket is 30mins away on driving distance. i think it's a trade-off for a fabulous view
on the other hand, the kitchen in the suit provides a full set of kitchen stuff, from dinning sets, microwave, oven to coffee maker. It's a great kitchen for those who likes to cook
another drawback is the lack of a sandy beach. there is a rocky beach full of dead hard coral. staying in the pool , in gym or the kidˊs room are my main activities. to be honest it's a bit boring, anyway it's nice to have a good rest after getting a sun burnt on Chaweng beach which i loved most. the hotel do offer activities such as snorkeling and island visit, but the price is quite expensive.
after all Shasa is a nice and pretty hotel, to enjoy a fabulous sea view and family time together

Spacious room and good facility

The room is spacious and very comfortable. Big balcony facing the pools and the sea, you can enjoy the breeze and reading books or searching internet using the tablet. Wifi covers every single corner of the hotel. Nice kids club - my kid can enjoy playing there. Nice swimming pools with jauzzi - very relaxing....
