The hotel itself was ok, the main problem I had is that the air conditioning was not working and I was lied that is going to be fixed and nothing was done so we had to leave and ask for a refund because of this. The breakfast is nothing special very small limited options with old pastries served. Did not like that. The rooms are OK. Free parking that was a good thing and nearby shops apart from that nothing much positive about it.

Expensive hotel out of the center

Small room at a high price. Location is great if you come to Rome with your own car as it's right off the highway, but it's way out of the centre with a very erratic Tram service which is still a 15 min walk away. Way better options in the centre of Rome and even cheaper.

Even though it was away from the city center, we could walk to P. Toglliati station to take the suburban train. The lot across has a full service grocery store to get take away foods. The inhouse restaurant was very good. And the breakfast was excellent with many choices.

The hotel is old, rooms has no proper lights, its been very dark in the room even all the light were on. In the evening I was sitting as if its a single candle light only available, if I on the TV the room gets brighter than having lights on. I requested to change the room 3 times due to the light but all rooms had same very poor bulbs, as well that some rooms also had a bad smell of bathroom. Also this hotel doesnt provide iron, reception told me that previously their customers used to damage irons thats why they stopped providing it. This means we come for a holiday and walk around with wrinkled dresses and take pics like that. There is no kettle for having tea inside the room also. I dont think this hotel deserves to be 4 star, its only 3 stars maybe as its not fulfilling amenities that 4 star hotels should provide. Reception people were also not so friendly. I stayed in same IH hotel in Milan and it was much better hotel and the staff was nice and everything was provided, i expected the same when I booked it in Rome, unfortunately its been totally not same..

Poor service at front desk.
very poor selection of breakfast and horrible service.
They literally take everything away around 9.30 as you are trying to grab a piece of bread or something before their cut off time that they said was 10. and they make you so uncomfortable with them walking around you and making loud dish noises as they pretend to set up lunch tables at 9.30 in the morning. Never staying in this chain again!

Con's: Despite modern looking room online, room had lots of wear and tear and not very clean especially the bathroom. Walls were very thin. Breakfast was the same every day and very limited, food very stale and no hot food apart from scrambled eggs (after 2 days we bought breakfast from the large Spazio Conad store opposite as we could not eat the breakfast anymore).

Pro's: Staff were friendly and helpful. Bed was comfy. Getting the 10-15min train in to central Rome every day via Palmiro Togliatti station saved us a lot of money (5min walk away, most trains arrived on time, tickets booked via TrainLine app, be aware station very run down so did not go there at night!). Nice shopping mall opposite the hotel.

Disappointed that the hotel fell below the standard expected for a 4* hotel and I would not stay here again. Many thanks to the staff, they were great.

The area in terms of places that were open in the evening, was interesting, but transportation options to getting there were few and inconvenient (45 min by bus to train station). Expedia did not clearly state city centre accessibility was limited. Would have appreciated some clarity about location accessibility, as we did not have a car.
Also, we had booked for 2 people, and were expecting at least 1 double bed. It ended up being 2 single beds as no other room was available. No alternative options.

I had a significant mechanical problem with the room and they were unable to fix it. Morning staff made promises and evening staff claimed no one told them. They even said we told housekeeping not to get it fixed
Otherwise good clean rooms

the location was sketchy and staff was very rude. we notice a car window was broken in the parking lot. when we first arived sara checking us in when asked a question contined talking to her coworker and ignored us, wheb we finally got her attention she ascred as if we were disruptive to her day. wheb we got to our room it wasn't the double beds we had booked and our bathroom light didnt work. we told sara and she told us somone would be up in 10 minutes, 45 minutes later making us miss out dinner reservations, we were told there was nothing they could do to fix it. we had to put a lamp in that barley lit the bathroom. when requesting a new room they said it wasnt possible. check out day they couldn't wait to start cleaning. the lobby was being mopped at 930 and the guy was yelling at us to not walk on the floor, while we were trying to put our bags in the car. worst hotel experience ever.

I was catfished. Travelocity should be ashamed to even list this property. I didn’t feel safe here at all. The staff is indifferent. No atm or currency exchange. No welcome. I called to ask how I get from the airport to the hotel by public transit and the lady hang up on me. Twice she hung up on me. It took me two hours to get there. The dump is located in a very rough area of Rome. Actually a suburb of Rome. To do any type of tourist things you have to take two metro lines or even three. Or take the tram and risk being mugged and murdered

Free parking, but far from everything.

The good: secure parking with an anti-personnel gate which required a room key for in/out, and the spaces are large. Air conditioning was cold. Service was mostly very good and the front desk had a good recommendation for dinner, an how to use the tram. Lots of free parking outside. Very close to a supermarket. Excellent COVID protective measures. The bed was comfortable and huge. A beer from the bar was reasonably priced. Not expensive overall. The bad: The first day a man from the front desk knocked once, then very quickly opened the door to my room before I could see who was knocking - VERY IMPOLITE! The shower was dirty. The toilet ran constantly. The floors are covered in a textured plastic tile that irritated my bare feet. The room had a tiny refrigerator that was completely useless. The underground parking has two steep inclines which may scrape lowered or longer cars. The surrounding neighborhood is not very nice and has few restaurant choices. Limited breakfast choices.

Quick check-in, no surprises, excellent taxi service, great bar 'nibbles' with drinks in the early evening.
Room comfortable, but tired - chipped paint, stained carpet, leaking shower, ambient temperature refrigerator, previous occupant had left the safe locked and none of the staff had checked or reset it.

This is where you want to stay!

Now this hotel is awesome! Modern, clean and for the price we got it was a steal! The location is great because it is not that far from the main attractions Rome has to offer. It is right next to an Auchan supermarket. The breakfast was pretty great. Offered a nice arrangement of pastries, hot and cold breakfast options. And the staff upkeeping the breakfast are was very kind to our family. Would definitely come back.

-woman at front desk scolded me twice & said reservation was for one- I showed her confirmation it was for 2 - she then said a \"child\" is under nine - expedia asked age & \"teenager\" was a child choice I marked - unfriendly front desk staff-bad first impression. Asked for a wake up call for departure day & never got it.

Tv has 140 stations only 2 in English -both only broadcasting liberal news - shows a negative view of Americans

Firm beds but very clean hotel. Friendly maids who did a professional job of cleaning each day.

a great week in room

It's a little bit too far outside the city but that didn't spoil our stay it's only a 20 minute tram or bus ride into the centre. The staff were very helpful and the food and drink was excellent at a reasonable price. The hotel makes a good base if you're hiring a car and touring the region which we did because it ment you didn't have to drive in the city centre and the parking was free. The room was a little small for a weeks stay but very clean and comfortable.

Nice Hotel away from central area

The hotel is clean and comfortable. Although it is outside the central/tourist area, it is not that far from the main transit hub. It takes 10-15 minute walk to the tram stop and another 25-30 minute tram ride to Termini Station. It is good if you plan to spend your days to explore Rome and just need a nice place to rest at night.

Think before you book !!

So where does one start??? Ok so the room was cheap and clean which was a good thing. The breakfast is shocking i have never seen soooo much cake in all my life so hope you like boiled eggs and bread and salami and cheese ( no choice the same everyday) coffee SHOCKING if the machine is working!! the juice well omg disgusting. The hotel is out of town ok its a 10 min walk to the tram stop and if you dont hit rush hour and red lights should only take 30 mins but be aware they get very busy and you end up with someones armpit in your face. Once in Rome everything is easy if you have a map. Staff wise they were ok but not the best i have come upon. We was there for 4 nights and they have massive tour groups stay just for one night and this make life very hard in a morning at breakfast as there is over a 100 of them very load very noisy people.
Overall would i stay here again NO I would find somewhere closer to Rome next time. Just so you know Trevi is closed for renovation i was soooo upset and this i hear is for 2 years!!!! as is the spanish steps also closed very disapointing. There seems to works going on all over the place so be aware! !

Disappointing Hotel, Not 4 Stars

1) hotel staff were very rude, and unwilling to help, more of a shrug shoulder attitude.2) Only One iron in the whole vicinity of the hotel (I had to walk across to the Holiday Inn hotel to borrow one, and during a clean out the room service took the iron without our permission and I had to chase this up numerous times as I had to personally return it to the hotel across the road 3) The Wifi when it worked was terrible (about 0.05mbps to load a single page) when we informed the reception staff, they simply said they knew they had this problem, and that's it. 4) on arrival the safe was broken/ clearly tampered with, hence we could not use and had to carry our valuables with us each day. 5) the hotel is located very far from the city centre. the nearest tram stop is Prestine Valante which is 20 mins walk along a rough, smelly, heavily littered neighbourhood.6) Dirty stained carpets and walls inside the crammed room, 7) sheets were not changed throughout 4 nights stay. 8) Breakfast was the same each day, not much selection, just a lot of cakes , broken coffee machines, and hard boiled eggs. Expensive hotel for what it offers, will not stay at a iH hotel again, especially Roma Z3, and will not recommend this hotel to anyone. (forgot to mention broken leaky shower) (ALL things were notified to the reception, and nothing was done about it)

Beware of neighbourhoood

The hotel was fine. But the neighbourhood is terrible.
We stopped our vehicle at the supermarket just opposite the hotel and it got broken into.
The thief stole our passport and eur2k
They even took our jackets which we don't understand as it was only a normal jacket.

I stayed 9 days. The hotel is nice and really new. The food in the hotel is good and not that expensive. There is a supermarket right across the street and the bus to go to the station Ponte Mammolo is just behind the hotel. It takes about 30 minutes to get to the train station Termini and 45 minutes to the actual center. In comparison to other 5 starts hotels this one is really good. The only 4 things I didn't like were the followings: 1) They don't have irons to stretch your clothes so I had to wet my shirt and blow dry it. That worked. 2) they don't have ice machines on the floors. So you have to go to the bar to ask for Ice and after 12am. the bar is close and there is no ice available. 3) The internet connection was so bad that i could not watch a simple youtube video without interruptions. They internet connection is super super basic and slow. 4) They supposed to have satellite and the entire time I was there they kept saying it was going to get fixed next day and in reality it never got fixed. It is all relative with this hotel. The place is nice but a bit far from the center. I would have preferred stayed at a less nicer hotel and be closer to the center than in this nice hotel and have everything so far from me. If you want a nice hotel, come to this one. Just remember that it take 45 minutes to go to the center and the subway closes at 11:30 pm so to come back on bus it takes about 1:15 minutes.

We paid for a double room but got a twin. When we asked to be changed we were told that was all that was available and we had to put up with it. The staff weren't helpful and didn't inform us about anything except where the team was when we asked how to get to the centre. They didn't tell us you need to but a ticket before you board the tram which seems like something you really should tell someone who is visiting Rome for the first time. There is nothing close to the hotel at all! The tram is a 10 minute walk and then a 35-40 minute journey to termini, you then have at least a 20 minute walk to anything of interest. We moved hotel after the first night even though we had paid for 3 nights. The staff didn't seem to care we were checking out early as we had already paid.

Great choice for visiting Rome

This hotel is certainly a bit of hike from downtown but, if you are prepared to rent a car - it is ideal. The booking prices were much lower than expected and the amenities were superb. This is a modern hotel with very friendly staff. There is free parking and it is about 20 minutes from the city center. Continental breakfast is served starting from 6am. For international travelers, this hotel is a great choice as some of the staff speak English and are super accommodating to traveler's needs. There is also a larger Au Chan (Wal Mart type store) right across the street for convenient shopping.

Hotel services are not the best as, bar and restaurant are closed very early around 9pm, there is no mini bar provided on the rooms.
Hotel location could be a concern, during my stay I found kind of difficult to reach the hotel by public transportation.

We stayed here for 2 nights...location is very central all monuments are very close by... huge balcony, good view,
We came in it 1 am in night and hotel staff was waiting only for us to check in on Saturday night.

To far away from center, the Breakfast was all the time the same, not many variaty of food, the coffe maschine was only one for many people, to expensive due to holyday in compare to other hotels near the center, the room is not what you see on the photos from Internet and are too small, we needed to change the room once since it was used...

Not exactly central, but what a great hotel!

Ok, this place isn't exactly in the centre of rome but I was aware of that when booking, so knew what to expect. What I had hoped for, but didn't expect was fabulous rooms, extremely polite, friendly and helpful staff and great food.

I had read a few reviews that said how far out it is and how long it took to get to the attractions, but in reality it's not that bad. The hotels minibus has you at the the Rebibbia metro station in a matter of minutes and then it only takes about 15 minutes to get to Termini. The trains do get very packed but, as Rebibbia is the starting point for the line, we always got a seat. On the way back, it wasn't always the case but, there was normally seats by the time we reached Turbitina and it's not that long anyway.

The hotels restaurant was staffed by great staff that served fantastic food. Apart from breakfast we only ate there once for an evening meal (only because we was out all day and ate wherever we was), but it was great. We took advantage of the set meal, which was 3 courses, bread, wine and water for only €19 each.

The hotel was always spotelss throughout, all staff very welcoming and friendly. Our room was absolutely spotless and kept that way everyway by the very friendly housekeeping staff. Although there is nothing much in the immediate area it didn't affect us at all, and to be honest a lot of the rest of Rome is a bit dingy looking - apart from the sights of course.

This hotel is in the middle of the boonies!!

DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. It is extremely far from the city center. If you take the metro to last stop, then take a bus, you still need to take a cab to reach the hotel. The hotel offers a shuttle service to take you to the metro, but it's always ful, or doesn't show up. Additionally, it doesn't run between 1245 and 6pm, so you pretty much have to stay in the city all day. If you want to head back to the hotel to rest or shower before dinner, it's going to cost you $20 or so for the cab. While the rooms themselves are nice, and the price is attractive, the location is SO inconvenient, that you end up having to spend money and time to take cabs, making it completely worthless. PLEASE TAKE MY ADVICE!!

not a bad 'Idea'

The Idea Hotel is a wonderful place; decor is modern, clean and spacious and the staff are friendly and helpful. The only problem was the location, and even though the hotel offered a shuttle bus to the nearest tube station, it was still too far away from anything, although there was a supermarket over the road. Apart from this and a petrol station there was very little in the locale; nothing to do in the evening, no short walks, no local restaurants, making the hotel the main attraction. LIkewise, the shuttle bus didn't run between midday and 6pm, which meant that if returning during this time one had to get a taxi @ 30 Euros.
Nonetheless, the breakfast was great (the coffee was sublime) and the staff were brilliant (we loved the mini-bus driver, the barman and the reception staff) and the hotel was clean and rooms constantly cleaned. I would whleheartedly recommend the hotel on price, style, quality, but suggest that one considers the location. Even though metro tickets are very cheap, you may well need to get a cab more often than not, and this can be very pricey.

great hotel but bad location

This hotel is nice, clean and comfortable and the staff is friendly and helpful. The only drawback is the location- its totally away from the city center. The hotel provides a shuttle bus to the metro station but a)it only holds about 15 people so in the morning we had to wait a while to get on because there were too many people. b) the last one back to the hotel is at 10:45.
I would say its worth staying here if you are renting a car.

General level of service was very good. Shuttle bus to the metro was somewhat erratic with it's timetable and the drivers were very surly. We arrived late at the hotel on our first night and even though the kitchen was closed they provided us with a very good cold platter. Very friendly and pleasant people.

Good hotel, with very poor customer service form some of the reception staff. Breakfast was like a rugby scrum, things were not replaced when they ran out and they seemed really under staffed.

Room however was very clean and comfortable.

Nice clean and comfortable hotel, friendly staff, very good breakfast.
They also have shuttle service every 30 mins connecting nearest metro so you can reach central in about 45 mins max.
However in the event of metro strike, it was almost impossible to reach hotel. Only 15 kms from Termini but seems to be quite a distance in Roma, none of the taxi drivers agreed, finally we got a taxi after 3 hrs.
I would definitely recommend this.

NEVER STAY HERE

I have stayed in alot of hotels and this by far has been the worst. completely ruined my honeymoon to Rome. The hotel is far from everything, a shuttle takes you to a metro station and the trains are the worst Ive seen!! The staff is a almost a joke, there is a young guy that doesnt give a crap to help you and gives attitude for everything, a young lady has been nice to us and made the stay somewhat pleasant. It also has taken three days to get a iron to iron our clothes, the breakfast is nasty and bland. I will never come to Rome this hotel again!!!

Nice hotel but no internet in the rooms

Nice and new hotel, good room/new appliance, nice assistance at front desk (missing adapter plugs for power/no currancy exchange). Our experience with this hotel was about 3. We had problems with the restaurant, they had a new system and they didn't know how to use, i spent more than 2 hours to get food.
Internet is only available in the lobby and I had no addapter for my computer, after one hour I coulnd't use internet because they didn't have any spare adapter or computer for visitors.
The hotel is not really far from Roma downtown, but the traffic is so bad that I wouldn't recommend to stay more than 2 kw far if you are in vacation, too much time in the taxi or bus to get to the city.
Breakfast was wonderful, they really surprised me, not charges.

Beautiful hotel... but

This hotel was not only a forever distance from the main attractions but in a questionable neighborhood - what we Americans would call the hood or slums. However, it appeared that the majority of Rome looked exactly the same with the exception of the Vatican and Colosseum areas... so maybe a bye on that note. The front desk staff were not as friendly as one would expect from service personnel ... with the exception on one male that wore glasses and spoke fluent English ... sorry can not recall his name. He was the main positive at the property!! The hotel itself is quite modern -- actually it looked and felt brand new -- but a few items could use some attention. I read other reviews prior to selecting this property and the majority of the comments centered on the shower not being enclosed so water got all over the place... well I am happy to report that it has been corrected -- at least in select rooms. However, the water temp is still an issue as it was not hot enough and the pressure was inconsistent. This property is located directly across the street from one of Rome's major grocery stores which was a huge bonus because their restaurant menu left quite a bit to be desired. So in summary... nice looking hotel... a long way from the attractions and I would recommend looking in the Vatican area or around the Colosseum for other lodging options.

The hotel was VERY NEW, VERY CLEAN VERY MODERN... THE CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GREAT AND PARKING WAS FREE.... THE FOOD IN THE RESTAURANT WAS MARGINAL AT BEST... THE LOCATION FOR THE HOTEL WAS NOT VERY GOOD AS IN ORDER TO GET TO THE TOURIST LOCATIONS WE HAD TO TAKE A BUS TO ONE OF THE SUBWAY STATIONS TO TAKE THE SUBWAY (BLUE) TO JUMP ON ANOTHER SUBWAY (RED) TO GET TO THE VATICAN, ETC... IF YOU HAVE A TOUR AND THEY WILL PROVIDE TRANSPORT ETC THEN IT IS WELL WORTH IT...

Hotel in zona ben servita, parcheggio disponibile in loco nella zona antistante l'albergo, di fronte c'è un centro commerciale raggiungibile a piedi. All'interno la struttura offre bar e ristorazione. Siamo stati in una junior suite molto spaziosa, ben arredata e con tutti i servizi funzionanti. La colazione è stata variegata e piacevole. Il personale disponibile, e il direttore molto gentile ci ha offerto caffè e dolcini prima della nostra partenza. Il soggiorno è stato gradevole e sicuramente ritorneremo. Grazie per l'accoglienza, a presto.

Ho chiesto del ghiaccio per un dolore al ginocchio, dopo dieci minuti di attesa mi hanno risposto che il bar era chiuso (nemmeno avessero dovuto preparare un cocktail!!!). Nel bagno non ci si poteva entrare in due. Non si poteva aprire l'acqua calda perché sollevando il miscelatore urtava ad un piano di appoggio sopra il lavabo. Se poi dovevi fare il bidet dovevi stare attento che se entrava qualcuno ti poteva dare la porta addosso. Proprio un 4 stelle!!!
