The mman at reception was rude an fighting with me for asking questions i have reported it to the manager then they gave us a room that was not cleaned an then we had to go bk down stairs to sort another room were the other member of staff had to deal with as the one was shouting an clearly swearing in his language i have video

Enjoyed my stay which was for 12 nights.
Great location, without being to noisey. Value for money. Buffet breakfast included a wide range to select from.
The only downside was that the bed was too hard.

The GU is part of the Gig hotel. The Gig is where the pool and breakfast is. The room in the GU was standard good size with a hard bed. Was cleaned and refilled daily. Do not bother getting breakfast there. The eggs are cooked and stacked up so cold all the time unless you get an omlette. Even the Asian buffet is cold. The fruit is good though. I’ve been to buffet in other Asian countries and they are better. Can’t fault the service of the staff though. Room was always clean and staff polite.

Hotel is in very central area. I would stay here again. They only downside is the shower has very weak water pressure and the window in the room has very little sunlight because it opens onto an alley way.

The only thing I like is the location of he property.
Unfortunately all other services such as hotel reception, pool, gym, restaurant etc. are located across the road at the other hotel; i.e. The GIG Hotel. This should be properly communicated!

Great location and average room with problems.

Hotel is in great location. Easy walking distance to Bangla Road and the beach. Plenty of restaurants in the area.
Can hear any noise in the hallway and there was a lot. Shower had some mold/mildew in between some wall tiles. Air con control was not adjustable. Full blast cold or had to turn off when room was freezing. Ate at Gig Hotel buffet breakfast (across the street and part of same hotel complex where the front desk is located). Got sick and felt bad all day.

The hotel has two name GIG and GU Hotel, which is confusing. Essential things like toothbrush not provided.

Very good thing was that the hotel near bangla road and patong beach. The hotel below have massage and surrounded by restaurant

Great hotel, it’s owned and operated by GIG hotel, just opposite the GIG hotel. Great Staff , attend to your needs promptly. Sauna, Swimming pool and decent gym. 2 mins walk to Bangla, but quite inside. Overall will stay here again. I even used their swimming pool and sauna services after checking out. Also checked me in early with no extra cost in the peak season.

Best hotel that ive ever stayed in thailand

Excellent hotel I was really surprised when I got to the hotel staff where so nice and friendly on check in got my key and my dream vacation started at the gu hotel.the gig is there main hotel and gu is just a short few steps across from each other. The highlights of my vacation was the gym and the pool on the roof which has such amazing views across patong beach and the nightlife area.in my opinion if your thinking of the staying in patong/bangla area try the gig/gu hotel you wont be disappointed what a fabulous hotel and a very well trained hotel staff always smileing and happy.

No no no!!

The one and only good thing about this hotel staff was the tour/ticket lsfy who is amazing! The phone, tv, shower all didnt work properly ir at all. The sheets were in fact dirty. The desk staff is not only incompetent but just lazy and rude. I stay at hotels in Phuket and atound tmThailand at least teo months every yesr and this is the secibd worst stay ever.

Very bad hotel not worth the money

My wife and I checked in and noticed right away that they had not cleaned the room. The pillows smelled like sweat and the room was very small. My wife complained to the staff and they changed our room. For over $100 a night it is not worth the money. The free WiFi is terrible. We went to Starbucks every day to use our laptops because we could not get online inside the hotel. Three years ago we stayed at this hotel and it was great but not now. Also there are a lot of people yelling on each floor until about 5:30 am from drinking and the hotel says nothing. Do yourself a favor and check around before you book at this hotel.

Great hotel

The best 3 star hotel I have ever staye in, position was perfect , walking distance to shopping centre, to Bangla rd, many restaurants and bars, but not too loud with music during the night, as everything doesn't close until the early mornings. Amazing pool and sauna. Super helpfull and friendly staff, don't be fooled buy the cheap price highly recommend to anyone

They are stealing!

The room had a window with a wiew to another window - 1 meter away. The pool is NOT in the same building! The worst: The maid is stealing!! When I checked out, I forgot 1 liter of White Bacardi Rum, and 2 x 1,5 litre bottles of Cocacola zero. The manager looked in to it after my second return to the hotel(forst return was the same day I was missing my bottles). The room was still free and the bottles was gone after the maid had cleaned the room(in so many ways). When I returned the 3. time, the reseption had 2 bottles of coconut oil(?????) for me! What?? This is the worst hotel. NEVER book this!! And another thing: They charge 1000Bath for guests that haven`t been registred at check in. What other hotel in Patong would do that?

Decent hotel, excellent location.

The WE hotel is a budget extension of the much nicer GIG hotel.

You even check into the WE at the front desk of the GIG hotel.

This means, all the amenities of the GIG come with your WE stay.. however, the rooms are vastly different.

Personally, it was fine for me.. however, I was expecting a nice mattress to sleep on, and the mattress I had could be confused with an oak table. Hard, unyielding, and gives sleeping pleasure to no one with a pulse.

Other than that - the food was good, the electrical outlets compatible with euro & US power adapters, the location was central and the gigs amenities (other than the bed) were very nice for a 3 star hotel half a block from Bangla Rd.

Great spot , not far from everything, room was cleaned spotless everyday,the use of the pool and facilities of the Gig Hotel was fantastic. We the staff were exceptional and accomodating , will go back again as this was my 3rd time at the We Hotel and will recomend to my freinds!

Stayed 02-Jun-2015 3-nights in Deluxe room 703.
(Good experience from previous stay in May-2014 when checking out, coincidently from the same room, a massive powercut hit the whole sub-district. The porter carried our 3-bags down 7 flights of stairs for us).

Large, well furnished room with electronic key-card entry. Good shower & bath.
Swam in the rooftop pool.

Stayed here to do Thai boxing at the nearby Nitah gym (as last year), however it had since closed down. Good night market 5-minutes walk one way, nightlife 5-minutes the other way.

Good selection for breakfast, with chef for eggs, however one day they did begin to clear away breakfast but re-instated everything when I arrived at 10:10am.

Only a tiny balcony for drying wet clothes, no room for sitting.

Late checkout, even 1-hour has to be paid for.

As a hotel manager, I could not believe that this hotel had no Irons or Iron boards on offer to guest. and when calling the front desk for extra hangers, the answer was straight \"No extra hangers allowed\" .... seriously! Overall the staff was friendly and helpful but do not expect anyone to speak English. I asked front desk three days in a row to speak to the hotel general manager, he was in hiding......

Hotel is located very close to walking street and patong beach. Staff is trained to charge exhorbitantly high from tourist and making calculation errors. Be careful to get your deposit back from the staff. They denied us to return our deposit with reasons that we are checking out 1 hour late and so our 500 baht deposit is forefieited.

Excellent hotel,everything i was expecting,very clean,extremely friendly staff and excellent location for me,in the middle of where I wanted to be,a short walk to Bangla road or a short walk to the quieter and more relaxing bars on Nanai road,jungceylon just a short hop away as was banzaan market,ideally located and no need to rent a Motorcycle..highly recommend it

Great location . The hotel is divided in two blocks one for standard room, the other for superior. The difference exists. Still the standard rooms are ok..some renovations right now. Should be really good in a couple of months. For the price good ratio.

Good location, down road from Bangla. Not a family hotel by any means, not really for couples, more of a lone male tourist motel. Pay the little extra for a room with a balcony. Looking out your fake window to the shaft is depressing. Some rooms were damp. We changed to balcony room and felt much better.

It was ok. Staff were nice enough.
Room was quite ok except for wood rot in the bathroom.
Breakfast was not so good but could not complain at the price.
Lift floor was always flooded from people coming from the pool but I'm being picky now.
It was ok for the price I guess.

We only stayed one night, the rooms had a mouldy smell & were infested with mosquitoes.
The air-conditioning unit outside the room sounded like there was construction going on.
To add we had noise from other rooms , doors banging in the middle of the night. Defiantly not a place I would be returning to anytime soon.

For what we paid this was well over priced

the bed is hard as tiles, no windows, air conditioner noisy, no any view, the customer service no understand english and they are not helpful. i told them as i got delivery and when delivery person come give them this 1000 Baht because i don't know what time he will come to wait for him and they told me as they are not keeping the money there, and then i told them ok pay to him 1000 i will pay you back when i come back still they refused and told me i should have to wait. and i waited 4 hours sitting on receptionist . bad customer service , each time guest come in they need 500 Baht which is totally different from other hotels in Patong. there is more great hotel less than this price neighbours like Bangkok hotel and Lantern with amazing customer service and great bed. i don't recommend this hotel to any unless who want to try what i said by your self.

1) Thieving staff. I left my room for 5 minutes and was in reception. I realised that I had left my mobile phone on my bedside table. Went back to room and it was gone. The sheets had been changed so the only person that had been in the locked room was the maid. Reported it to reception who were very unhelpful. Plus the fact no member of staff in the hotel can speak English to help. Reception staff just shrugged off the incident. Very unhappy and reported to Police. 2) Staff can't add up. Check final balance before leaving. 3) Reception staff speak no English and are very rude. 4) Very noisy hotel. Bedroom doors are so thin you can hear every noise in hallway. 5) Bizarre wifi system that needs you to enter a code every time you need to log on. These codes supposedly last 24 hours but rarely did, which meant you had to go back to reception for a new code. Only one code per person and you can't use the code across multiple devices. Very annoying. 6) If you need a taxi anywhere don't book it direct from the hotel they over charge.

Perfect Hotel & Location

I have been phuket 3 times and my 3rd time round stay was at WE hotel. I have previously stayed at resorts so I expected the worst from this Hotel. By far it was the best one. Everything about it was PERFECT. Staff were super friendly at all times. Rooms were good and location was just SPOT ON!! Will be staying there again next time round and ignore all bad reviews they are just to fussy! Price for the hotel was super cheap. Food was great and roof top pool was also great!

Would NOT recommend because:

2) Staff can't add up. On check out we had unfortunately broken a glass and a coffee cup in our room so would be charged for them, fair enough, but would help if reception staff could add up the items correctly. They have me a break down of charges . The reception staff tried to make me pay over double but couldn't give me an explanation why. After much arguing they let me pay the correct amount.

3) Reception staff speak no English and are very rude.

4) Very noisy hotel. Bedroom doors are so thin you can hear every noise in hallway. I.e. Other hotel guests closing their doors, talking etc

5) Bizarre wifi system that needs you to enter a code every time you need to log on. These codes supposedly last 24 hours but rarely did, which meant you had to go back to reception for a new code. Only one code per person and you can't use the code across multiple devices. Very annoying.

Very close to bangla, not bad for the price but...

hotel is in brilliant a location, very close to bangla and jygon shopping center. Rooms were large enough but beds were hard, showers did flood (which did not bother me) at times you could smell the sewage (which did) and the air con unit outside my room was very noisy when running but i got used to that. The breakfast was ok but very similar each morning, stopped going after a few mornings. Roof top pool was great, a smaller and bigger one. Overall ok hotel, get what you pay for so in that that respect its pretty good, so many hotels in Phuket now id probably stay else where next time but if you need a cheap hotel close to bangla (no joiner fees at this hotel) this ones alright

Close to Bangla Road and shopping centre.

This is my 3rd time I have stayed in this hotel this year. I am very happy with this hotel as it is very close to the Shopping Centre and very close to Bangla Road where all the bars and clubs are. The beach is only a 5 to 10 minute walk away. The Hotel is very nice rooms are very clean and spacious but the beds are very hard. The hotel staff are very kind and helpful. Did not have breakfast included as there are so many resturants and coffee shops close by the hotel. The swimming pool area is on the roof top and has 2 pools and overlooks Patong. I will be staying here at this hotel again at Christmas and will be booking with Hotel.com again. I recommend the Superior and Delux rooms only. (Don't book the standard rooms) as you don't get a balcony or windows.) Enjoy??

Be careful of the rooms.

The first night, my fiance' and I were put in a room which was in very bad shape. No wifi, old paint, like an old basement. The staff initially refused to move us but relented when we argued that they gave us a different room than advertised on hotels.com. The second night through the rest of our trip we were placed in a very nice room and with very fast wifi. The hotel was clean and the staff was friendly. Aside from the first night, we had no complaints.

Good value for a very stilish and comfy room!

A very good valued hotell! The brekafest is average and a little boring. The roof top poolarea is small and kind of shabby although the shower area is reallh nice. The rooms are TOP NOTCH although small and with bad shower drainage.

The reception staff was polite and helpfull!

Catastrophique Hôtel, aucun comportement trop de bruit même pas propre. Je recommande à personne cet hôtel il vous accompagne même pas votre chambre il voulait chercher pendant des heures tout seul bref j’ai passé un mauvais séjour j’ai même pas dormi là-bas j’ai dû laisser mes affaires là-bas c’est tout. J’ai pris une chambre pour prendre ma douche et laisser mes affaires avant en sécurité MDR
