Wonderful large rooms, was really great to see a 90s style kept in such great order. Lots of beautiful timber work, ornate ceilings, stunning chandeliers everything was very stylish. I hope they keep this hotel it was a little bit outside of the centre. But it overlooked the river and mountains fantastic views. The staff were really great and the rooms were very clean on the whole we totally enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning on our next holiday. Thank you for a wonderful state.

The room (or suite) was nice except for one thing. The A/C was on and the temperature in the room was very cold when we arrived. We tried to turn it off but couldn’t find the thermostat. We cold the reception and they sent someone to our room to check it out. They found the thermostat hidden behind a curtain (great location!), and adjusted it. But to no avail. Apparently the rooms have no heaters, just A/C’s. By the end of our second day the room temperature had increased by itself to a somewhat comfortable level. Maybe there is an opportunity for improvement here. Another opportunity for improvement would be to have more parking spaces available. It gets crowded there very fast.

Everything was exceptional. We arrived late in the evening and our original hotel couldn’t be found and didn’t answer our calls (booked on Agoda- never again) so I hopped on hotels.com and booked two rooms at the Centara. Front desk was so helpful and understanding and got us in and set up in upgraded rooms. The rooms are large and have everything you need and a beautiful view of the river, city and mountains. The following morning the concierge helped us book a great private tour of the Chiang Rai temples and a longneck village. Our driver Bank was kind and friendly. Just nice to be at a property where they staff is obviously happy. Will make this my second home going forward when I visit. Kudos to the GM. You’re doing a fine job.

I should mention you can have free late checkout till 2pm and if u pay 1000thb u can late check out at 5pm which is perfect if your catching a later flight

The Centara Riverside provides good value for money, excellent service and very good facilities including a great outdoor pool. The hotel is a 10-15 minute Grab ride from the action at the centre of Chiang Mai. But our tours, one out of town and the other Mama Noi cooking class provided transportation from the Hotel.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at the Centara Riverside and our 3rd stay at a hotel in the Centara chain. So, yes, we recommend it highly.

The Convera Riverfront is a very good hotel located a 10 minute Grab ride from central Chiang Mai, Comvers staff and service are excellent, The Hotel pool is very nice, and not often busy. The gym is well equipped and also not busy. Breakfast has much variety and is of good quality. Rooms are large and pleasant, but not quite to the exceptional level of newer hotels in the Convera chain.

The public areas (eg, driveway, lobby, lifts) and rooms were always clean and tidy. The staff were beyond helpful, both at the front desk, the concierge, and housekeeping. The buffet breakfast was terrific. The decor in the rooms is a bit dated, but the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. I would definitely recommend staying here.

I have been staying in Centara Riverside every time I come to Chiang Mai for the past 5 years.
The room is spacious with view. The breakfast buffet is tremendous. However, the bathrooms in the room desperately needs upgrade/remodel. Another complaint is long wait for the 5 guest elevators during checkout time, up to 30’minutes wait for a vacant elevator

This is a fantastic hotel, excellent in every way. We have stayed there at least three times and are never disappointed. The staff are all first-class, from Alex the manager to housekeeping. The fees are very reasonable for the value. We visit Chiang Mai every year, and the Centara is our favorite hotel in all of Chiang Mai.

I've lived in Thailand for years, had a rental car on this trip and am familiar with Chiang Mai. I very much enjoyed our stay at Centara. Earlier reviews stated that this property was run down. It appears to me to have been renovated very well. Our rooms were spacious, clean and very comfortable. Reception and restaurant/coffee shop were very nice (though over priced). The surrounding area had some -- but few -- restaurants, shops, massage businesses, coffee shops and convenience stores. The hotel is relatively far from Chiang Mai's old city and travel by taxi or ride share (Grab, etc) is a must. But that is true of most reasonably-priced hotels outside of old town Chiang Mai.

The rooms are spacious; the staff is attentive and polite. Compared to many hotels in the U.S., this experience is exceptional! They offer daily room cleaning, which we no longer receive in the U.S., warm hospitality, and a beautiful breakfast buffet. Centara is not located in the Night Bazaar, but is not far away, so those looking for that experience would need to take a short tuktuk or songtaew ride. We enjoyed being away from the Night Bazaar noise and busyness. I would recommend Centara to all.

The property upstairs where the rooms are is just simply not clean. There were potato chips outside of the elevator for the entire four days we stayed there. When we first got there, our telephone didn’t work and the do not disturb button for our room never did work so we were never able to have a do not disturb sign. Not the type of hotel that I’m used to staying at.

This is a large / mega hotel. Opposite to some of the smaller boutiques. Looks like it was built in the 80s with heavy wood furniture, carpeted rooms very large bath. It is generous for space but bed runs on the small side. Mattresses had a slope from wear. Very unfriendly electrical system with rigid switches (very late 1970s design). Outlets for modern phones tablets and computers were difficult to find and access. Flat screen TV was an after thought. Water pressure was great, breakfast more than sufficient although the station attendants - especially noodle stand was hit and miss. Solid 7.5 to 8.1 overall. The Starbucks inspired cafe was nice, but a real business center area with printer would be a nice addition.

I rated negative due to the fact that the Chiang Mai government said it would be safe to breathe the sir it was not safe it was dangerous for any living creature to breathe the highly toxic air, therefore I am asking for a full refund for round trip air fare and full refund from your hotel. I will also contact Prime minister Srettha Thavisin regarding the lack of concern for public safety. I have been visiting Thailand for 10 years and have never experienced such a lack of concern for a tourist and for putting monetary gain over safety. The pollution was so bad that after the fact the safety protocols such as breathing rooms
were put in place by Mr. Nirat. I will submit my information so that a reimbursement will find me and allow me rebook at a later date. Professionally, J.A Tomingo III.

This is a relatively new facility, and was designed as a modern, high-end hotel. However, it has fallen into severe disrepair.

My stay here was awful due to the poorly maintained and/or non-functioning facilities. The only parts of the hotel that are really nice are the lobby and the breakfast bar area. All of the common area upstairs carpeting is damp, and there is a damp/mildewy odor throughout the hotel. In addition, the carpeting in my guest room had a strong damp and mildewy odor, which proceeded to give me a respiratory infection. I was staying here in order to perform concerts for 3 nights, and I had to cancel all of my performances because I was sick from the mildew in the carpet in my room.

In addition, one of the main reasons I stayed in this hotel was for the gym and the sauna. The sauna was completely broken and off-line, and was not working at all. In addition, the gym was a joke. Although it was very large, there were hardly any free weights, and no barbell. In addition, the few weight machines they had were super low-quality and flimsy, to the point of being dangerous.

This hotel really ruined my annual trip to Chiang Mai, and months later, I am still extremely upset about it. They should really refund my entire payment in full, before I leave this same review on every single travel website on the entire internet.

Note: All of the staff here are REALLY nice and helpful. All of the above is solely due to the owners not maintaining their hotel.

Had an unfortunate stay at the Centara Riverside Chiang Mai which we were quite saddened by as the Centara in Udon Thani and the Centra by Centara in Mae Sot were fantastic hotels.
To start with the check in was a little bit awkward but we just thought the staff were having a difficult day as it was almost New years eve. Anyway, we continued to our room, a junior suite, and settled in.
Had a good night sleep, got up and went to breakfast, unfortunately the breakfast here is terrible and everyday it just got worse, food is very cold and pastry quite stale, coffee machines broken and a very average selection for a luxury hotel. The only saving grace was the staff member who was cooking the omelettes, he's a bloody legend as it was the only food that was not ice cold. In my opinion you should make him the restaurant manager, hes the only one actually making the place better.
As the days went on it was apparent that the a/c in our room was completely broken and just blowing hot air non stop, call guest services and they said they would send a technician straight up, waited 15 min and left without seeing him, thankfully it was sorted by the last night of our stay.
The other staff worth mentioning were the housekeeping on our floor (7th) and also the car park staff and bell boys, they were all great!
Wont be coming back to Centara Riverside Chiang Mai in a hurry as im sure there are other good hotels to choose from in CM. Please try to improve

The good: The staff at front desk, luggage stand and cleaning staff were very friendly.
The bad: The hotel is very outdated. The toilet did not work in our room when we arrived and then again stopped working the next day after fixed. When neighboring rooms shower the walls make a horrific high pitch noise. The room itself was clean but smelled of mold. The main lobby smelled so bad of a scent that was so overpowering it triggered my asthma. The pool was nice and clean but no towels or cushions for half the chairs.
