I loved everything about this property! I only gave three stars for breakfast because it is a grab-and-go situation. Breakfast is as good as it could be, and the free coffee is top notch! There are also plenty of coffee shops and restaurants within walking distance.

I was repeatedly woken up by ringing phones, guests checking out, and loud conversations right outside my door. When I checked out, I expressed my frustration that I hadn't been informed the room shared a wall with the front desk and was located next to the hospitality area (with coffee, tea, TV, etc.). The response I received was that the hotel is \"boutique\" and I had booked the last available room. However, it was clear that no other guests were exposed to the same level of noise and disruption.
Despite the inconvenience, I was told no refund or compensation could be offered because I had booked through a third party (Hotels.com). I believe, at the very least, a voucher for a future stay should have been offered as a gesture of goodwill.
To top it off, the front desk advised that “in the future,” I should call after booking to request not to be placed in a room next to the front desk—something that should not be the guest’s responsibility in the first place.

This is a budget friendly option in Downtown Ithaca. It's a convenient location, but does have some drawbacks like tight parking and small rooms. That said, it was clean and a good value compared to other hotels in the area.

Floor was dirty, had to call someone for help as they don’t man the front counter unless called. Bathroom dirt would not stay shut. Shower is small and placement of shower head you can’t escape spray to see anything. Shower also leaked onto bathroom floor. Cramped and no place to sit and few surfaces to place anything on. Bed remind me of stuffed mattress, very uncomfortable. You cannot control the temperature of your room, it’s all preset. Tv does not do CC. Cleaning performed outside of main floor rooms at bedtime. Very few instructions on how to utilize amenities in main room. Just overall more of a hassle and little privacy.

Excellent service with genuine warmth, the opposite of \"corporate vibes\". If something's not ideal, talking to the staff is all it takes to make it right. The beds are superb, which is my #1 consideration in a hotel. The rooms are on the small side, but since I wasn't spending a lot of time in the room, this wasn't a problem for me. The location is great for visiting Cornell and downtown isn't too far either.

I got lucky and got the junior suite, it’s in its own building in the back. Used to be a garage, the owner converted into a cute little place, with a small kitchenette. The only thing I would suggest is having a peep hole since I was by myself in the back, and or a screen door. I used the laundry room, which you can get quarters from the front desk. The price is reasonable and very close to the campus.

Stayed here as part of a visit to Cornell. Located at the very bottom of the campus - it is a short climb up to campus. Dorm hotel is unique (in my opinion) and exactly as described. Rooms are very small, small bathroom. Just enough room for a bed and a desk. It was tight with two people but quite doable. Very clean. Perfect for a summer visit. I enjoyed and would definitely stay here again.

The dorm hotel needs to secure their exterior garbage. Rodents and squirrels have eaten thru the plastic trash can lid. If a guest is entering the property thru the compact car space, squirrels exit the garbage can and feel threaten and cornered. This is not unique to the Dorm Hotel, but a systemic problem across Ithaca with plastic lids for cans and dumpsters. If rats cannot feed, rats cannot breed.

This is at least my fifth stay at this hotel. Location is great and to have offstreet parking is unusual and great. People are always lovely. The rooms are often not super clean (mine had a half a pot of cold coffee this time and dirty counter and table surfaces). This time - it also smelled super chemically - as thought they use unstoppables or like product. Really awful for an asthmatic. The also have a bad back and the mattress is good - but I. Top of a wooden support is not OK for four nights. I really loved it when it was super affordable. Not sure it’s worth similar prices to the Statler Hotel. Lastly - asked for trash removal daily because cooking food. Came once in four days. If there’s a kitchenette - remove the trash daily.
