We traveled for our daughter's graduation from Cornell. The winter ceremony was literally across the street. The room was comfortable and well maintained. The view of the tower and campus from our window was beautiful. However, the brunch buffet at Taverna Banfi was just okay, and the service could have been better.

I didn’t have any problems with it the whole time I was working. The location is also great as you are right on campus. I would definitely stay again!

We have stayed at the Statler several times and appreciated their service standards. Unfortunately, our recent visit fell significantly short.
Our airport pickup was delayed. Check-in was lengthy and disorganized despite rooms being ready. When I requested twin beds instead of a queen, staff asked “For the same money?” as if this standard room swap was an upgrade.
Multiple billing issues occurred. My card was charged twice for incidentals despite confirming the first transaction was approved. Shortly after, my card was compromised and I needed a replacement. At checkout, the terminal amount didn’t match my bill with no explanation provided.
A promised rollaway bed never arrived after four hours. When I logged concerns through their app as suggested, an associate requested my email but never followed up. The app chat then became inaccessible.
At checkout, no staff had knowledge of my communication or my complaints. They were unfamiliar with the app system and unable to help. When I requested a manager, I received only a supervisor’s phone number.
The room was well-appointed, but the experience revealed significant gaps in training, internal communication, and service standards compared to previous stays.

Obviously the most convenient option if you have business at Cornell, but you pay up for that. It's a nice hotel; I would say 4-star quality. Note that the \"queen\" beds are NYC-style; i.e. they are barely full sized, let alone queen. It's surprising to find that in a place that doesn't have the space restrictions that NYC hotels have. Even though our room (#507) was two doors down from the elevator, it was so quiet and I was never bothered by any comings and goings; I usually am. Even-numbered rooms look out towards Sage Hall and the front of the building, and probably have nicer views. The one small annoyance is there is no covered/garage parking. Not an issue in nice weather but in the winter it would suck. There is a small lot up the road that you can either self-park or valet, for $25.

Honestly, it's one of my best hotel experiences so far. My wife and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend to hit up Watkins Glen State Park, among few other Finger Lake and Falls. We didn't realize the hotel was smack in the middle of Cornell University until we arrived. We ended up doing some walks on the campus and came to realize how beautiful and neat the campus was. We really appreciated the camous location and a great view of Ithaca and the forest from an elevation. Seems like the hotel had many of the hotel management students from the university, which was interesting. The folks from the front, valet, and restaurant were all extremely courteous and professional. They were the most friendly bunch!
The room was clean and spacious, and the bathroom water pressure was good. (Although our kleenex got super damp and wet for some reason). Thought the AC was a bit musky and too loud but got used to it, no problem. 2nd floor restaurant is decent and elevators pretty fast.
Overall my wife and I had a very pleasant stay here and would recommend it to anyone visiting Ithaca area!

My experience here was nothing short of exceptional! There are dining options all around and convenient to all my reunion events. Everything about the facility was immaculate and still looked like it was brand new! I love the fresh brewed complimentary coffee in the lobby in the mornings as well as the mini muffins.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and always ensured your needs are met.

My only minor complaint is that there was no shuttle to take guests to the downtown area. Not a big deal but maybe they could hire students to run a shuttle to the downtown area during reunions as there are more dining options there.

I stayed here as my last night in Ithaca after my son’s graduation from the hotel school. The morning we were to leave (and drive 16 hours across the country) the hotel did not have hot water. I understand they were having a maintenance issue but the service recovery was nonexistent. I was told, “sorry for the inconvenience.” I was not offered any sort of compensation. A hotel needs to provide 2 services - a bed and a functioning bathroom. I could not sit around and wait for the hot water to be fixed so I took a FREEZING shower. At checkout neither desk staff mentioned the water or asked about my stay. As I left I told them I was very unhappy about their response to the water and one of the 2 male staff members literally smirked at me. This was at 8:30 am on May 27th if Statler management wanted to identify the smirker, unfortunately I didn’t get his name. Pretty poor service from the school of hospitality - my son was embarrassed when I told him about my experience. He has worked at the Statler as well.
