If you're out and about during the day and come back in the evenings, most likely you won't be able to use it. Also, the sauna hardly worked, it wasn’t hot. However, the message from the hotel asking if you want to add spa package failed to mention the hours of operation. I'd not have bought it if I knew my itinerary wouldn't allow me to use it.
Also be aware if you come to visit colleges, unless you have a car, the hotel is not on the main road to buses, so uber can be costly.

My credit card was stolen by the hotel at check in. We stayed one night and were paid in full via Hotels.Com. But I was charged $250 the night when we checked in and another $240 the next day. We did not use any of the hotel service and stayed barely 12 hours at the hotel.
The furnace in our room was extremely loud. It woke us up several times at night. And the sheets were dirty. I would highly recommend to avoid this hotel!

I was here to visit my daughter at Ithaca College. Overall the hotel was nice. I think it could use a little updating, but it was cozy and the room was spacious.
My one disappointment was that because of my daughter's schedule, I knew I would be doing some meals alone. When I booked here, they had a full restaurant on site and a lounge with a bar menu. But when I was there, the restaurant was permanently closed and the lounge was not serving food. I was not made aware of this until I went down to grab dinner before my daughter's concert, so I had to scramble to find a quick meal somewhere else.
I did enjoy a spa treatment there. The August Moon Spa was very nice and I recommend Garth as a masseuse. I also took a lovely hike by using a path at the back of the property that connects to the upper part of Buttermilk Falls. Overall, it is a lovely hotel that is more peaceful than the downtown hotels and close to Ithaca College.

This is a well located hotel for exploring Ithaca and its surroundings. The room we had was large and clean. The sheets seemed a little worn out- not as comfortable as in other hotels. Overall, though, a fine place to stay.

We had a room on the ground floor with a terrace that led out to the grounds which was wonderful. Very friendly and helpful staff. Bedding was comfortable. Only two complaints: water pressure less than ideal and the soundproofing was poor. Likely because it’s an old property but when other guests talk outside or close their doors in the morning it woke me up every time.

We just really enjoyed the stay--the grounds (sitting in a gazebo for morning coffee), the concerts and food trucks in the \"back yard\", and the quiet. It was very relaxing. We are just sorry we did not get to utilize the on site spa.

Everything about my stay was wonderful except I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it more. Some parts of the property look a little tired, but it is the end of summer and it may just be the dryness. The walking trails were just gorgeous and so peaceful.

My opinion is influenced by recollections of what this property used to be under the former owner. It started out as a very upscale property (it used to be in the Relais & Chateaux group), and it was an \"experience\". I hadn't stayed here in about 15 years and now it's a clean, modern, friendly but completely non-descript, standard, property. It was a good value for the rate, and I would stay again.

Nice hotel just out of town near Ithaca/Cornell
We stayed here recently for a 3 day trip, our first trip to Ithaca and Finger Lakes area to visit wineries and hike the waterfall and gorge hikes. This is close to many great hikes and vineyards and Cornell University and Ithaca College. The hotel is older but has been nicely updated. It is situated outside of town on a quiet, large property. Our room was comfortable and nicely appointed. In the summer they have live music on Tuesday and Thursday nights. They have a spa which we did not use.

The refrigerator in the room we booked was not working. When we asked about it we were moved to a lesser room. Smaller bed and smaller room. We were told by the front desk that we should get a 50% refund. FYI, I’m a diabetic and needed to store my insulin in the fridge.

The AC in our room didn't cool properly and the room was so humid our paperbacks curled. The shower was constantly running so our bathroom was hot and steamy. The staff was made aware of this problem. It wasn't so bad we would ask for a different room but it was less than perfect. Otherwise it's a great place. The old charm is comfortable. We would return in a heartbeat.

I loved everything about La Tourelle! The location, the natural surroundings, the incredibly kind and thoughtful staff, the beautiful decor, the water stations so I didn't have to use plastic water bottles, the super comfortable mattress and bedding, the incredible array of interesting books in the room, the jetted tub, the balcony from which I could see a lovely pond and the gorgeous trees on the outskirts of the property...all of it was absolutely perfect! This was a wonderful property and location for my solo getaway. I enjoyed the grounds with the gazebos and easy trail access. The staff was friendly, although some seemed to be new and a bit inexperienced. Overall I had a wonderful time and would recommend to future travelers!

We stayed at La Tourelle while visiting Cornell University. We had a busy schedule, so we did not use many of the hotel amenities, but overall we were very pleased with our stay. Staff were friendly and helpful; we arrived very late to the property (after 3am) and there was still staff there to greet us and get us checked in. Our room was very clean and spacious and had a nice view of the grounds. Would definitely stay again if we are back in the area.

The room was extremely loud, near an ice machine that sounded like an avalanche everyday at 6AM. Couldn't get much rest. Paper thin walls unfortunately. The \"bistro\" is closed, has been for a year, which I wish I knew prior to booking. There is just an onsite small bar with a limited menu of snack-like appetizers. The spa was impossible to reach, they finally got back to me after my trip was over and I was back home. There is no pool nor jacuzzi. The picture of people sitting around a pond in adarondak chairs on their website is very misleading, this was a murky pond overgrown with brush and no adaronacks. The campfires and smores are actually part of a nearby hotel, not La Tourelle, so when we went they had to decline us because they didn't have enough supplies to feed both us and their guests. The wifi is horrendous with no option to upgrade. The towel rack to hang your towels in my rooms was directly over the toilet, yuck. Lastly a pipe burst while we were there, closing the spa completely and filling the entire floor with the smell of feces. We eventually left a night early due to all of this discomfort and when doing so the manager was very defensive and not once expressed any empathy. The sign and all branding says, \"Hotel - Bistro - Spa\" which during my stay was true, lie, and then closed without communication or accomodation. She said it was my fault for not booking with the spa weeks prior to my vacation. I don't think that's acceptable.

I have been a frequent visitor of Ithaca lately as I adopted a dog with a multitude of medical issues and he goes to Cornell for treatment.
I wish I had stayed here every visit. However, given that I stayed in 5 other hotels in the area I can pretty confidently say that LaTourelle is one of the best. From the staff to the people that stay there it was a fantastic experience. They more than accommodated Gandalf and I - they welcomed us and fussed over him.
The spa is also a wonderful luxury, a not to be missed experience. There are also hotel activities. I can’t say enough.

Outside is 5 stars and staff is amazing. But dead bugs in our room, furniture scuffed, weird hole in ceiling where fire sprinkler looks like it was installed by a bear. And the breakfast buffet was pretty gross AND ran out of coffee. No coffee pots in the rooms?! Crazy. Food at bar was stellar though, as was front desk service. Lots of weird cobteasts there. Grounds were gorgeous.

This is a great place to stay in Ithaca. It’s about 10 minutes from the town center but it feels like you are in the country. Lots of open space, beautiful grounds, nice sunset views, and friendly staff make it a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay.

We loved staying at La Tourelle! We found the entire resort to be very charming. The staff was very friendly and welcoming too. We also used the spa facilities for treatments and relaxation. It was so nice to have this available. There were also nice touches like coffee all day in the beautiful lobby, and a lounge. There were also many places that were walkable to visit or sit with a glass of wine. We also felt that the value for the cost was excellent. We highly recommend staying at La Tourelle and hope to return soon.
