We visited with my elderly parents who have mobility issues and the staff was accommodating and assigned us rooms close to the pools. However, there are a lot of uphills to push wheelchairs and to get from the lobby to our rooms we had to take 4 different elevators.
The hotel is lovely and the grounds are lush. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious. We loved the 3 outdoor heated pools. The hotel was so quiet at this time of year. The restaurants rotated in which were open daily and they were expensive but the food was good. We were able to take a taxi to Benidorm for dinner one night and the concierge was very helpful with suggestions on where to eat and making us a reservation. There didn’t seem to be entertainment at the hotel at night.
We made the decision to leave a day early because of flood warnings (the DANA) and management was very accommodating in giving us a refund for that one night since it was a declared emergency.
I highly recommend the hotel and hopefully will be back.

Fantastic getaway

Unfortunately on arriving it became apparent straight away that somehow our booking had been missed.
The hotel was not busy so they soon found us a room.
Other than a couple of minor issues, phone in room not working, no milk for tea/coffee and having to request an iron, we had a wonderful stay.
The staff are fantastic, so friendly and always on hand.
Food and service was very good although disappointing that some restaurants were not open.

In general it is a great hotel. The amenities are great. Unfortunately, considering that it is a Leading Hotel of the world it does not hold the quality standard. There where areas that where poorly maintained that can be taken care easily such as placemats in the restaurant during breakfast where broken and some tables where damaged. What needs a little more effort is the quality of food. The food lacked taste and was not to the level of other Leading Hotels of the World.
Other than this issues I still recommend the hotel and we had a lovely stay with ample rooms, great pools and kids activities.

A fabulous hotel. We stay there and we never leave the hotel, it is so lovely. Wide range of dining. Best thing is the fantastic atmospheric gardens. Some furniture in our room was just starting to look a little bit worn, but hardly noticable.

Total paradise!

This is an amazing resort set in lush tropical gardens with a very relaxing vibe. We were offered an upgrade to a sea view room however it didn’t feel like an upgrade because apart from being able to see the sea in the distance the only other thing you can see are trees.
We had breakfast included which offered a wide choice and was well organised considering the current Covid situation. We also had lunch by the pool which was delicious but pricey. This hotel is five-star and this is reflected in the prices of food and drinks.
All in our we really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely property with great decor and very helpful staff (Miguel, in particular) with nothing too much trouble. Food in the buffet was excellent, as were the other restaurants in the hotel.
Drawbacks were that not all restaurants were open every day, and the main issue was the lack of sun lounger space round the pools as well as guests 'reserving' sun loungers for the whole day.

Not family friendly for those with toddlers/babies

Beautiful grounds and rooms. Service in main restaurant and on arrival was very good and welcoming. However we were disappointed with service provided for family with young children. We were charged (price of an expensive coffee) for cows milk for baby (in other five star hotels we have stayed this was complimentary) also we ran out of nappy wipes, none were provided/available in hotel (not even in kids club) and nowhere in hotel to buy them, so had to leave hotel to buy them (in other five stars stayed at were complimentary). Dinner only available from 7.30pm in all the restaurants, there is only a bar serving burgers/salad before then in the evening. This may be a Spanish thing dining late, but very inconvenient for parents of young children that sleep early.
Summary: Beautiful grounds, nice breakfast but despite saying is family friendly hotel does not provide good service to those staying with young children (toddler age/babies).

We thought the hotel was nice, however it says it’s a family oriented hotel. From what we experienced this wasn’t the case.

We were all packed around one small pool, while the adults only areas were completely empty. I suppose because most people chose the hotel as it’s alleged to be family friendly.

The kids club seemed to be closed most days and due to the terrible weather (obviously that’s outside the hotels control) we weren’t allowed to use the hotels only indoor pool which is adults only.

If you like feeding fish at 11am everyday, that seems to be the only activity the kids club readily did.

There were major leaks throughout the hotel, again largely due to the weather but after three days still weren’t dealt with.

Given the cost if you’re a family I would look elsewhere or in a group (two families or more) think about a nice lavish villa for the price you pay here.

Such a shame as we were really looking forward to it.

Fabulous Asia Gardens

Asia Gardens is a wonderful hotel!!
I have stayed there many times it is built in the style of a Thai pavilion! There is a Thai restaurant a gourmet restaurant and a buffet.
The rooms are super clean And the beds are large and very comfortable !
There are lots of pools scattered around the ground which are beautifully landscaped!
The Thai spa is simply one of the best !
I highly recommend this hotel.

Huge Asian style resort in Spain

Huge resort with a very Asian feel. Lots of pools and restaurants. But area is totally isolated and there is nothing to do anywhere near the hotel - 40 min taxi tide to get anywhere else. Food was just okay. Not a big fan of buffets. Some areas were less kid-friendly than others - if you want to avoid loud groups of children playing. My biggest issues were that they are short staffed and due to size it is hard to get help when you want it. Many restaurants are not always open. Spa was lovely but limited selection of treatments and hours open. Nice to have a terrace in the room. Grounds are very tropical with beautiful trees and flowers, and well kept.

Quiet secluded hotel.

A lovely hotel in a beautiful setting. An expanse of trees, shrubs and ponds to obscure the buildings giving a real feeling of being away from everything and everyone.
To a one, every member of staff was extremely courteous and helpful, whatever you wanted.
Everywhere was clean and tidy, the pools were well maintained. The food was very good and there was a wide selection for all meals.
A real treat and one to recommend.

We go there every year

My partner and I went there for the Easter weekend, we went there every year now, it's a place to relax, time to treat yourself and spend time with your love one.

We are strongly recommended this hotel, specially the Thai massage (one of the things you must try), staffs were warm and friendly.

The only one thing that disappointed us was the hot tub in our suite. It was a little bit cold, we won't be able to use it. But the manager were resolve the issue promptly, I hope it won't happen again next time when we stay in the Asian Gardens.

Over all, it was very pleasant stay, thank you so much for all the staffs in Asia Gardends during our stay.

Me and my fiancé planned a short trip to Asia gardens hotel,to celebrate our anniversary, but due to work I had to cancel last minute, that wasn’t such a good news. While my husband was on his way I contacted the hotel with te request if they had pre/arrival arrangements for special occasions, and yes they had a wonderful plan how to give my fiancé the perfect anniversary they even wrote a hand written letter of a note I left for my fiancé with the bottle of Moët Chandon.

My fiancé fell completely in love with the resort, the location, the beautiful gardens and the swimming pools, the big and clean rooms, the friendly and helpful staff and we are definitely visiting again but next time together.

Fantastic stay.
Our second time & hope to return again, our only criticism was the air conditioning was turned off for winter & our room wouldn't go below 21, so had to sleep with the balcony door open.
Otherwise it was a perfect stay.
Highly recommend half board & to pay a supplement to eat in In black, such a lovely restaurant, but the buffet restaurant was also very good.

Asian retreat near Benidorm - Spain!

We booked this hotel for our 10 year anniversary and brought along our two children as well for a 3 day stay. The grounds and hotel itself are amazing and beautiful and it was just what we had wanted. Our superior room was amazing - although the balcony was very small. The reason why I have not give 5/5 for any of the categories is that, although a 5 star hotel and a LHW it fell short on numerous things that I would expect of a 5 star hotel. For example - no complimentary cold drink on arrival (even 3-4 star hotels offer this!). Toiletries in the room were very nice and luxurious - but were only supplied with ONE tiny bottle of each between the 4 of us to use - had to keep asking for more everyday. The service was good, but again a bit slow and not as attentive as I would expect from a 5 star hotel. Food wise - restaurant for buffet breakfast and dinner - setting was amazing. However, breakfast was of an OK standard - definitely not 5 star. Only had 1 chef frying any hot food so kept waiting for eggs/omelettes etc. Dinner in evening was really nice but NO asian food on offer at all which was disappointing as you would expect there to be at least something from that continent! But the drinks were included in the price of the buffet which made the meal such good value - even at 50Eu per head. Definitely would recommend a short stay here if you want a relaxing stay in a beautiful hotel

Overcrowded, security concerns and rude pool staff

This is a reasonable attempt at creating a Thai hotel in the med but doesn't come close to an Anantara type experience. It feels like a Spanish hotel just made to look Thai. It's tired and some of the staff were extremely rude. One morning I laid four towels by the pool like everybody else. Came back half an hour later with my family to find our stuff cleared away and someone else on our sun loungers. Spoke to a very rude, unapologetic pool security lady and was told this was hotel policy for two reasons. Firstly there aren't enough sun loungers to go around so you can only have them while you're using them. As soon as you leave your stuff is cleared for someone else to use them. Secondly hotel guests have had personal belongings stolen. Worrying for a hotel trying to be top end. There were other issues that tarnished our stay like having to wait 15 mins for a badly cooked egg at the breakfast buffet. Overall it definitely wasn't worth the €2,800 they charged us for a 3 night stay (full board). We won't be going back.

Very good hotel, just missing a few bits

Just returned from our holiday in Alicante. The hotel is very well maintained. Lovely gardens and excellent staff. The heated swimming pool was a bonus for us. However, I was very disappointed that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Also, we asked for an ironing board and we were told to use the hotel laundry services. We just assumed that all hotels of a certain standard offered these amenities free of charge to all guests.
The buffet breakfast in Udaipur Restaurant is quite good with a lot of variety. The buffet dinner on the other hand doesn't cater very well for people who are not meat lovers! We had a hire car at our disposable so we just drove down to the shopping centre nearby (5 minutes drive) where there are 4-5 good restaurants for dinner.

Relax and recharge in eden gardens and pools

we spent lovely time in the hotel. If you want a place to recharge and relax this is the best hotel for it. My children 12,8 had fun time there as well. Loved the yoga session out door by the pool and the spa team are so lovely and top quality. Food and cleanliness is 10 out of 10. My children loved the Kids club and activity team but it would be better if they have mini tennis and football field.

A luxurious hotel with all the amenities you'd expect: restaurants, spa. The gardens surrounding the hotel and swimming pools are top notch-- world class! Unfortunately the fitness center was a major disappointment as it had only 1 treadmill, eliptical trainer, bike. For a luxury hotel you'd expect a full circuit of fitness machines. This was a major let down.

From the exceptional facilities, great massages, and exemplary service, to the wonderful restaurants and pools, this place was every bit a 5* resort and then some. It easily compares to staying at a Four Seasons, no question.

We loved this hotel: staff, rooms, food, grounds and pools. The hotel felt quiet despite the time of year and I had been concerned about whether the hotel would be child friendly for our 6 year old, but I needn't have worried at all. Children were made welcome but at no point did I feel it was a hotel designed just for children - the balance was perfect with some adult only areas for those wanting even more peace. We experienced no problem with service at all, a little slower around the pool but you could go to the bar yourself. Breakfast great, lunch good and the only meal I didn't enjoy was dinner at the buffet restaurant as not sure it was value for money for us personally. I would return here in a heartbeat.

The included buffet style breakfast was amazing! The Koh Samu Thia restaurant was disapointing, that was the only disappointment for the entire stay. Great time of year to go, as it wasn't too hot.

Nice hotel, but not very close to anything!

Nicely done-up hotel, good heated swimming pool (Zen). Gardens and pools all done well. The cocktails were very nice!

However, the food choices are very poor - do not stay here if you are vegetarian or have Gluten/Lactose allergies/intolerances.

Bacon in the mornings wasn't proper bacon like you get in most hotels - seemed like some weird processed substitute.

You generally have the same food choices every day, with leftovers being mixed together in the salad for the next day.

It was a nice hotel, but I wouldn't stay here again.

A beautiful hotel. Without doubt, one of the best I have been to and I have been to some amazing hotels.

The hotel is superb. It is one of the most beautiful and relaxing hotels I have ever stayed in. It's as of Thailand has been placed in Spain.

A few small gripes
-there were some ants in the room.
-foliage is overgrown and needs to be trimmed a little in some areas as it impedes access to the path.
-algae should be clean from the ponds.
-The food was not great in some of the restaurants. I don't mind paying over the odds for good food but this was not really on offer, just paying a lot for OK food. On the plus side the breakfast was great.

Overall. This hotel is excellent. If it fixed the areas I mentioned I could safely say it could be the best hotel in the world.

Excellent luxury paradise - in Benidorm!

Absolutely top class experience. Entrance to the hotel is via a 24hr manned security gatehouse which results in the complex feeling entirely safe and secure. The main building serves as reception and is a beautiful airy replica-Thai palace. The entire complex is set within stunning tropical gardens. Staff are all immaculate, friendly and helpful. The 'basic' room level is deluxe; and deluxe it is, beautifully decorated and very spacious. The pools are stylish and spotlessly clean. Despite being peak period and running at capacity the hotel never felt overcrowded. The quality of the food (half board) at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Overall a genuine 5* experience.

Spectacular Spa, a perfect honeymoon hotel.

My daughter and I wanted a relaxing, spa five day break. We certainly got that and a whole lot more. This hotel may be expensive, but it is star quality all the way and we felt it was worth every penny.
The surroundings are like a piece of Thailand has been transported to Spain! We made use of the outdoor pools, despite them being rather cold. There were plenty of loungers in secluded areas and we enjoyed the thoughtful service from the bar staff.
Breakfast was amazing, with an outstanding choice, as was the evening buffet. Being half board, we were delighted to be able to eat at one of the other restaurants one night, paying only for the main dish.
All the staff were delightful, smiling and polite, in both the hotel and the spa. We experienced five different treatments in the spa, each time making use of the fabulous pool. We had the place to ourselves on most occasions.
We left the Barceló Asia Garden Hotel in a much better frame of mind than we had on our arrival and would have no hesitation in returning or recommending it to all and sundry!
If you want pampering, hang the expense!

fabulous hotel

I stayed with my daughter for 4 nights at the end of May. We booked a standard deluxe room but were given a lovely room on the top floor with a large balcony and a side sea view. Very comfortable bed, beautiful bathroom with great separate shower and loo cubicles. The grounds of the hotel including the pool areas are absolutely amazing - the tropical planting is very lush and there are lovely views in every direction. It was relaxing just to walk around the grounds each day. The way the pools and planting are combined gives a feeling of peace, space and privacy. The hotel was quiet, always a huge choice of sunloungers. The staff were discreet but attentive and couldn't have been more helpful or friendly. Buffet at both breakfast and dinner were wonderful, lovely choice of high quality food, including local spanish food as well as Asian food on some nights. WE were so impressed with the buffet we didn't get round to trying the speciality restaurants. The inclusion of wine with half board was very welcome!

The hotel is almost perfect, the pools are to die for, the service is first class and the general feel is one of tranquillity and peace - considering its location - this is no small achievement. My only complaint is the system of vouchers to exchange for pool towels, it is just tacky and really tarnished an otherwise 5 star experience.

Looking forward to my stay as the Asia Gardens, I expected the Asian restaurant on site would be fantastic, not the case, expensive and poor quality starters frozen and bought in, a bit of a con, I was very disappointed. Otherwise a good hotel.

A lovely place to go, if you go at the right time

We went out of season, so it was a big plus that the pools were lovely and free to swim in. However, it also meant that some of the restaurants closed for the day at either 4 or 5pm, leaving a reduced choice in the evenings. However, the gardens are beautiful and tranquil and it is a super place for adults or grown up children.

Pure tranquillity

Asia gardens is an oasis of tranquility. Just 30 minutes from Alicante airport, the hotel is hidden behind a gate which unlocks palm trees, 4 swimming pools and a hub of restaurants and other great amenities. The staff are smartly presented and polite and there is no doubt that the treatment is nothing less than 5 star! If you want a pleasurable experience book Asia gardens as it will meet all your needs!

Don't be put off by the 'Benidorm' address. Absolutely lovely hotel in an out of the way location far from the crowds of Benidorm. Very peaceful, lovely grounds, fab swimming pools. There is nothing ordinary about the standard deluxe rooms - spacious with lovely bathroom and balcony. Staff attentive, friendly and great service. Food very good with plenty of choice. Would definately return.

LUXURY HIDEAWAY NEAR BUSY BENIDORM

I took my husband for a birthday surprise to the Asia Gardens Hotel in 2010. We loved it so much we spent another two weeks there in May 2012. This is a real find in a much maligned Benidorm area. The pools and gardens in the hotel are idyllic (you could be in luxury hotel in Asia without realising it!), the rooms are clean and extremely comfortable, the food is good and the staff efficient and friendly (especially the Concierge, Rebecca and the lady egg chef whose name I forget). Spend a relaxing day at the hotel and then take a ten minute taxi ride into Benidorm in the evenings to sample the Benidorm nightlife, have a meal in one of the hundreds of restaurants and then take a stroll along the Promenade. Perfect!

Stayed 1/5 June, 2009. Must have been the off period with just 30% occupancy and boringly only ONE restaurant of FIVE open for dinner. Very quiet, no entertainment. Room had NO clock, tea/coffee making facility, door safety chain, nor spy hole. TV had NO English language programmes other than 24 hour news. Spa wanted Euro 20 just to look around. No shop. Isolated.

Poor service level

A truely spot on example of a poor managed staff lacking the skills to execute the level of service needed at 5 star hotel being a member of leading hotels of the world. Every service staff we made contact with during our two night stay were very disengaged and seemed like they didn’t understand the purpose of their job is to make guests feel welcomed and they lacked awareness, respect and kindness. Its been quite a while since I’ve experienced such poor level of service and commitment on all levels.
