I started feeling cold around midnight, so I went down to the front desk and asked if I could get the remote control to adjust the room temperature. The receptionist told me she didn’t have it and that the staff member who handles it had already left. Then she actually said, “If you knew there was an issue, why didn’t you tell us in the afternoon?” I couldn’t believe it. It was 15°C in the afternoon, and it had dropped to 3°C by the time I asked.

The property could have better communication. We arrived at the address provided by Expedia but the apartment had a different address which made it difficult with our luggage. The staff was nice and helpful but they take a while to respond. The area didn’t seem like it was the best in Granada. We had guys asking for money or food at the door of the apartment so it didn’t feel very safe but Granada may be like that overall. It was in a convenient area close to Albacin and the downtown. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The AC is tricky but overall no complaints besides the arrival and limitation in parking

Value for money and well located

Once we arrived and finally found the apartment, it was exactly as pictured and lovely inside. The apartment itself is accessed from a small back street and was not clearly signed- we checked in at the reception of a hostel and were then sent to find the apartment on our own. Not the most straight forward, especially when arriving late at night. We hired a car and chose this accommodation as it had parking but this was separate and full on our first day. 5 days parking was then over 90 euros and not self service. Worth noting that Granada is not an easy city to drive in- lots of bus and taxi lanes and tiny side streets ful of pedestrians with a death wish. The apartment was well located for exploring the old city and convenient for shopping too. Lots of items on the inventory were missing and staff were unable to provide them- I was sent across the street to a nearby restaurant when I wanted to open a bottle of wine. For what we paid though I can’t complain, it was clean and comfortable and very handy.

Close to sightseeing (alhambra,etc.). Barebones room ( beds, bathroom, insulated windows), but clean. AC didn't work, which was terrible with 105 degree weather. Got lucky finding parking 10 minutes away. Driving there isn't simple with various road restrictions.

This hotel is all you need to visit Granada. The rooms are clean ( yet with a limited space). But you’re not staying there all day anyways. It’s conveniently located at a walking distance to everything from shopping to cathedral to madina. For this affordable price, I will book it again in the future.

The location of this hotel was ideal, being near plaza nueva and alhambra. However, the quadruple room booked was not like the photographs. My room was located on the 4th floor of an adjacent building-access was via an open staircase connecting the main building to the annex. The room was the only one located at the annex, on that floor. The only window overlooked a wall and the room was smaller than the photographs suggested. I had to move the desk and chair in front of the window, in order to get to the bathroom, or else climb over the bed. Also, the heat generated from the air conditioning combo unit was minimal. In late November/early December, the room was constantly cold. The only warm spot in the room was directly under the unit, which required standing beneath the unit to feel warm. Overall, my experience in the annexed building was not the pleasant experience i expected based on the photographic depictions of the rooms. However, walking through the warm main building in order to get to the annex, the main building seemed as though a room within it would be better than those located in the annex. I would stay at hostal atenas again if i can be assigned a room in the main building, a room which looks like the photographs.

We have stayed at Hostel Atenas a few times before, and have been impressed by the modern, quiet, comfotable rooms. Were looking forward to another 2 day break in Granada, but this time we were given a room facing the main road (Gran Via Colon). This room has not been modernised like most of the other rooms, and was very disappointing. The size was small, the bathroom fittings were very old and worn out, and the worst thing was the noise. Being at the front of the hotel, the traffic noise from the main road was very loud, and it was difficult to sleep. Very disappointing, as we know that there are some lovely quiet rooms at the back of the hotel.

Very nice place in an excellent location. Walking distance from cathedral and plaza nueva. We stayed at a quadruple room and it was very roomy and comfortable. More like a hotel than a hostel. Would definetely return.
Suggestion: PLEASE make hair dryer more available to guests.

Clean, modern single room with balcony and view to Alhambra on the main street. A bit noisy but room faced side street. Close to airport bus stop. Really it's a short walk to most attractions and room had all you could need.

Just What We Needed

Hostal Atenas was just what we needed for our Granada adventure. Centrally located and easy walking distance from the Catedral and public transit to the Alhambra and Albicin. The staff was friendly and very helpful with suggestions and directions to local dining, shopping, historical experiences and bus routes. They were even able to pre purchase our tickets for the Alhambra long after they were sold out online. Know before you go...
The rooms are clean and ours was quiet. The beds were two twins. There is very little extra space. This was not a problem for us but if you are a big person or have active children you might consider the room a little snug. We only were there to sleep and shower and the Hostal Atenas was a great value and very convenient for our trip to the magical city of Granada.

It has a great location. However, there's no heating in the room. We arrived at 3pm, and the room was not ready even though check in time is supposed to be 1 pm. The room also smells of cigarette even though it is supposed to be a non-smoking room. It was value for money, but would not be coming back.

Very convienient and clean and cheap.

This hostal is right in the Albaicin and on most bus routes. Parking difficult don't rely on hostal garage parking. Many bars and restaurants all nearby, walk around or get the hop on / off train. Apart from the obvious go to the San Jeronimo Monastery. Amazing.

Dirty room

The room wasn't even ready when I got there after the check in time. The cleaner was still cleaning and the floor was dusty and dirty even after the cleaning, since she only swept it once carelessly. The toilet had a toilet paper inside, as the toilet didnt flush well, and the shower smelt like someone's sweat when I turned the water on to use it. Also the towel they gave me had hair on it. I understand that it is a cheap hotel, but cleanliness is a basic thing. I don't have a complaint about the size of the room, because that's what I paid for. The good things are that the location is good and the neighborhood is safe from the hotel being on the main road. The bed was comfortable as well, but I would pay more and go to a cleaner hotel if I am back in Granada.

Great neighborhood. Hostal was fine for the price but they more than doubled it when I tried to book a second night. We went down the street and found another LOVELY place for the same price as our first night. Very loud with partiers as they have 80 rooms.

Great location, clean room

We stayed in a quadruple room for one night, and were very happy about the place. The hotel is centrally located, close to all main attractions. Our room was basic, but very clean. Wifi signal was good. We slept quite well at night. Check-out was fast and easy. Overrall, Atenas offers excellent value, and we would stay there again.

Prettier inside than out

This was my first stay at a hostal, but it felt like a hotel. My roommate said it was more of a pensión ). For 60€ we had a room with WIFI (which worked on my iPhone but not my tablet), 2 twins, our own bathroom (which was spacious and modern), TV, towels (2 bath, 2 hand, 1 floor mat), closet, balcony, and daily maid service. I washed clothes in the sink and had places to hang them. I recommend buying a travel clothesline. From room 610 (top floor), we had a fantastic view. No A/C, but opening the sliding glass door allowed cool air in. Temps were a high of 81 (when we weren't there), and a low of 52. We closed the door before going to sleep. With it open, there was some street noise, but our floor was quiet. There were 7 rooms on it. After checking out, we put 2 backpacks & a carryon into a locker for 2€.

I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities. Like other review, the customer service orientation by front desk staff is questionable. But the location is great and easily accessible by public transit. The single room was very small. I laughed at the thought that they offered a remote control or the TV with a deposti because you can reach it from your bed! The room was clean but too noisy if you try to have the window open because of street traffic. The AC was not very good which is why I tried to open the window. Still, good value for your money!

The receptionist is especially helpful. One of my friend lost his digital cam in bus. We don't speak Spanish very well, but the receptionist was very willing to help us and talked with the bus company. This helped us a lot.

The bathroom is good. It is clean, especially the water is hot enough. That's good XD. However the bathroom is not ventilated at all as I couldn't see any ventilation system connected in our bathroom.

There is wifi provided, but I think it is a bit too slow, comparing with that in HK.

The location is convenient. As it is along the Gran Via and it can be easily recognised with its red appearance. It can't be overlooked even you are in Granada for the first time.

Poi la camera è stata una pessima sorpresa.
Sembrava in un edificio adiacente, perché vanno superate due porte Antincendio, una scala di sicurezza e si entra in una stanza/deposito con una finestra su androne.
Clima vecchio e rumoroso, letti poco puliti Come il bagno. Pro in quest'ultimo, il bidet e la doccia grande, peccato che poi il doccino era piccolo e pieno di calcare. Pessima rappresentazione dell'ospitalità andalusa

It was disgusting! There was hair and stains on the bed! We changed the room we got because of dirty sheets, and the other room we got was as dirty as the first room. The parking was a joke. I really don’t recommend this place. The location was perfect but everything else was disappointing.

You need to pay to leave baggage after checkout

The room is ok, but it was a bit dark, and our room was for 3 people and it was in front of a stairs, and it was a bit noisy. And the thing that I didn't like it was that to leave the bags in the hotel you have to pay (like in a hostel) that for a hotel is not expected. And as I slept on the extra bed, because there is just one light on the room I bumped my head on the shelves because I was in the toilet when the couple turn off the light and I couldn't see the furniture. It was ok the hotel, but as a hotel I was expecting at least a luggage room for free.

La camera che mi è stata assegnata in un primo momento non aveva ginestre sull'esterno , ma su una corte interna chiusa, per cui soffrendo di claustrofobia, sono stato male appena entrato in camera, per cui ho chiesto di cambiarla. La receptionist molto gentilmente mi ha accontentato dandomi una camera con finestre luminose al quinto piano, dopo sono stato meglio. grazie.

L’emplacement central, tout se fait à pied.
Il y a un parking privé mais pas de réservation possible donc chacun pour soi.
Circulation très compliqué dans le centre-ville, bien se renseigner avant sur comment atteindre l’Hôtel.
Les réceptionnistes sont très sollicités et ne prennent pas le temps de conseiller ou aider.

Hotel centrico y habitaciones limpias hemos pernoctado 3 noches y como sugerencias dos cosas, las habitaciones que dan a la Gran Via son ruidosas por el trafico y el personal deberia interactuar un poco mas con el cliente cuando se dirije a recepcion a consultar algo,una sonrisa no cuesta nada y ayuda al cliente a sentirse mas comodo.

Good Hotel

バスターミナルからはSN1バスで１本。バス停から徒歩3分。メイン通りに面していて分かりやすいです。カテドラルも徒歩５分で立地は最高。お部屋も清潔でした。水圧、お湯も問題無し。欲を言えば窓を開けられると良かった。でもこの価格ならまた泊まりたいです。
