Very good Hotel with all all confort.
Clean room, good beds, linen exchanged every 2nd day. Quick laundry Service within a day, Even without Express Service.
Excellent 28m 3 lanes pool, sauna and very good gym with outside view.
Only inconvénience was the not working A/C. With up to 27C degrés on the room ( outside 20C/ Autumn ). Apparently the a/c was off in the entire hotel, so that might be for Energy saving reasons.
Supermarkets, coffees, Restaurants in walking distance. Metro station around 700m away.

Room not ready at 3pm. Poor service

Definitely never returning. Arrived at the hotel after 3 pm after travelling since 6 am. I was told the room is not ready which is definitely not acceptable. We had to escalate this to get another room. Ended up in a room less than what I booked. It ruined my whole stay and I will never return as I've never experienced this at any hotel before

I have been to Beijing twice now. I stayed at Wanda Vista Beijing, formerly Sofitel. With the new brand, they have increased their service quality. Staff are accommodating, they always have English speaking staff available, and you can really tell that everyone has been trained to provide quality service to clients. Great gem.

The staff was outstanding especially Johanna at the desk. She was so helpful, courteous, and friendly! The concierge which I believe was named Norbert was extremely helpful in many ways. Staying at many nice hotels internationally, we would rate this hotel as one of the best!

Pretty hotel in downtown Beijing

Loved staying in the Wanda Vista hotel. Beautiful Art Deco styling is a glamours throwback to a bygone era. The hotel breakfast buffet has many options. The rooms were well appointed, modern and clean. Fitness center has modern equipment. Close by to the metro and many food and entertainment options.

Service at check in was appalling - the lady behind the counter was more interested in being on her mobile phone than checking me in. No room was available when I checked in even though it was after the official time. I was told it would be 20 minutes maximum and to take a seat and some one would come and get me when my room was ready. 45 minutes later - no one - so I reapproached the check in and my room was ready.
The hotel was not where it said it was on the hotels.com website - nor on the hotels website itself. It is 1.3km away on the opposite side of a the road behind an elevated highway. I choose the hotel for the alleged proximity to a subway station, restaurants, and my friends hotel - but was disappointed and would not have chosen this place if this website had of been correct. The customer service rep for Hotels.com didn't seem at all concerned that people would have been inconvenienced by their mistake.
On two occasions - there was no one at the gym reception to give you a locker key and sign you in - had to wait 15 minutes. The gym facilities are good however.
Room comfortable & clean, bed comfortable, wifi - average.

Our family holiday become memorable due to Mr Fang

We checked in on 1 October 2018 stayed 4 nights. When we checked in the guy gav3 us a smelly and mouldy room. The carpet was frayed, power point socked came off from the wall, table was chipped. It was shocking. We refused to accept the room and requested to speak to General Manger. As GM was on leave we met Assistant Manger Mr Fang who listened our concer very carefully and mad3 decision to give us a room in Executive floor which was an excellent room. Mr Fang speaks English very well and do understand how to resolve an issue. He has a very good attitude and he went extra mile to make us happy.

Friendly and helpful staff. Close to the subway line one. Close to a Walmart. I was upgraded to an Executive suite which was nice but only issue was the toilet didn't work very well. Other than that the staff made my stay enjoyable. I used the fitness centre and that was great. Lobby is luxurious and room comfortable. Get the chaise lounge drycleaned there are a few stains on it.

Not Sofitel level but pretty good

We visited this hotel several times when it was Sofitel managed, now the facilities are still very good but service level not quite Sofitel level. Staff friendliness varies, the reception lady was clearly very unmotivated for her job, but elsewhere staff was friendly and professional. Room was excellent apart from the TV remote controller, it worked intermittently, bad thing when watching the football wold cup. Still recommend the hotel.

This should be a red flag on hotel.com. Hotel in owner transition. Good bones but very tired. Staff means well; is scared and disoriented. Appalling disconnect between room rate and value ($500/night double twin, really???) Recommend to stay clear for next year at least.

Beautiful but needs work

The hotel is gorgeous. However, very few staff speak any English at all and the few who speak English are incapable of understanding even basic phrases. And noone seems in charge of bars, restaurants etc. or example, restaurant staff did not understand the word \"toilet.\" Bar staff did not understand the concept of \"happy hour\" even though they had a happy hour menu in English. We ordered the same drinks at the bar several nights in a row and every time the price was different and there was no manager to ask for an explanation. This was very disappointing since the hotel lobby is beautiful, there are several restaurants and the pool and gym are extensive.

It is really not 5 star. While there certain individuals who provide services that are up to the level of expectations, overall service feels like 4 stars. Location is not great and the restaurants are quite good and expensive. Hotel is a bit old and as from Oct next year it will not be a Sofitel anymore. Local management takes over.

Great location but services are just ok

This hotel is located in the great area and nice interior. All staffs are friendly and really helpful, especially the front desk and doorman.
However, the room services are just ok. We ordered meals couple times and the french fries and soup came COLD, even after I asked for to make sure they are hot.
And one of a person in our group need it temporary wheelchair for the period of time during the stay, called the BOH dept supposed to have the wheelchair, and the person picked up the phone said he wanted RMB 1000 CASH as the deposit, and wouldn't take credit card. Although later on the front desk actually told us there's no need for a deposit, but there's obviously something not right if one of staff is asking customer CASH as deport in such nice hotel.

Best luxury at very reasonable prices!!!

This is by far the best luxury I was offered by Sofitel. I have been a big fan of this brand and have lived in Sofitel hotels in Mumbai and other parts of the world. They have redefined luxury and it feels like a mini vacation inside the hotel. They have the best customer service and I never felt like anything did not work for me. At the end of your stay you will miss this hotel I guarantee that. The French know what they are doing and what best hotel service means. I will definitely go to any other Sofitel hotel with a blindfold without having to worry about what I will expect. They have always managed to surprise me despite being a chain!

Good value for the price; in need of work

This hotel was strange; amazing looking and impressive when you first enter. After staying an evening - the finish of everything reveals itself. I cannot complain about the beds or the soundproofness of the building -- both are great. The power outlets randomly didn't work; and the hotel cards both in the elevator and the rooms lose their 'charge' all the time, so I had to replace my card once a day. If you look closely at the finish around light fixtures and other things you notice shoddy work--as though the whole hotel was rushed together. I think this is typical of a hotel this age; especially in Beijing. All in all, I was pleased by the efforts of the staff to make things nice-- most don't speak much English--and I was given an upgrade at no charge. The hotel just doesn't quite live up to its appearance, and can be frustrating at times. The local area is pretty vanilla but clean; the hotel facilities are ok but again, have that problem of looking good but being weird. I think for what I paid I got a great deal but I'm not quite convinced I will be back.

Sometimes there was a methane like sewer smell coming from the toilet area. Something to do with the plumbing. Best to keep the door to the toilet and the door to the bathroom closed. Restaurants were good, but very pricy. Often there was only one or two guests eating in the entire restaurant. The breakfast buffet was good. Enjoyed the honeycomb. Staff was friendly. The room was always made very clean and tidy each morning.

Got a free upgrade to a suite, the room was absolutely gorgeous and spacious. We stayed for 6 days, hotel is closed to everything, Walmart, restaurants, shopping centers and theater all within walking distance. Hotel has a nicely equipped gym as well as a huge swimming pool. Overall we're really happy with our stay. Definitely will stay here again next time in Beijing.

Best business hotel I've experienced.

The beds were firm yet not hard, no sag, no squeak, just perfect support and I weigh 230 pounds.
The room was quiet and the bathroom facilities were excellent (although enclosed by a little too much transparent glass). My only disappointment was the selection of TV stations -- very little in English and even less of news outside of China. The propaganda was tacky, but the hotel was world class!

Good luxurious hotel

The hotel is well locate next to a couple of excellent bakeries and a Starbucks. The train station is 5 minutes walk. Quality of beds and amenities was superb. This is a professionally run no fuss hotel that aims to provide good service promptly. Rooms are modern and well furnishedwith electronic drapes and a glass wall between the bathroom and the bedroom. Separate shower stall and a sunken tub add to the luxury element.

Pretty good hotel for the price

Staff: pretty cold and serious, except the concierge (they were amazing) -- the cleaning people came into our room with their own key several times \"on accident\" while we were in the room which was pretty uncomfortable...they said sorry but it was still annoying and one of the times I was in the shower alone so it did freak me out!

Room: the views were amazing!! the bathroom is pretty awesome, very spacious!

Food: lots of places to eat in the hotel and also around the hotel!

Property: the hotel is pretty luxurious but it needs a renovation...carpets were old and it looked dated.

WIFI: awful wifi connection in the hotel and specially in the rooms...internet was slow and signal kept going in and out which was annoying.

Overall the hotel was good, it did its job...the room was spacious and clean but the staff was definitely not what you expect out a 4+ star hotel...cold, serious and gave us no sense of privacy since they would just go in and out the room with their own key!!

Superb Hotel in Beijing

After a long, very long flight from the US, I was welcomed at the Sofitel Wanda Beijing with smiles and deference. Staff members including check in desk clerks, managers and valets all met me at the door to the hotel and helped me get settled in quickly and without any trouble. The staff assigned me a beautiful room that was a small piece of heaving after spending the day slogging through Beijing on tours, walking, etc. Recommendations for restaurants, assistance with subway stations and much more made my stay much seamless and trouble free.

Fantastic Pool in Good Hotel

The swimming pool was the best that I have swam in at a hotel. 25 meters plus three lanes. Good depth and great water quality and temperature for working out. Gym was good and staff were very helpful and cheerful. Would stay again just for the pool but everything was very nice except the bed pillows were down and went flat quickly. Subway 8 min walk to either the 1 line or 10 line. Lots of food nearby and Walmart next door. Lobby was impressive and rooms nicely decorated with rain shower head and lots of good water pressure.

Not my first time at this Sofitel. I keep coming back, so they must be doing something right.

The esthetics are phenomenal. I've never stayed in two rooms that were decorated exactly the same, so it's always fresh, yet it's always beautiful.

Service is generally excellent. Everyone has a pleasant, helpful attitude that makes it fun to stay there.

On the flip side, the facilities are a bit dated, and a few things are showing their wear. Card-key readers aren't the best, so I've had to swipe multiple times to get the elevators to work or to open my room key. Their internet is okay, but not the fastest. It will do for most things, but if you need to download a large file for that important presentation, best to do it from home. Minor nuisances, all.

Wonderful time, especially on the Club Level!

Stayed in a Club Room and it was so worth it! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and the amenities offered, especially the Club Lounge that served a wonderful breakfast buffet and an evening cocktail hour with enough food and wine to count as dinner! All high quality, with great service. Great check in and check out process as well. The pool was gorgeous, though I wished there was a hot tub for a nice soak in the winter. Hotel itself is in a good location for business, and quite lovely overall. Thanks!

This is an high end hotel, so my expection is higher. First, i waited like 10 minutes before they let me check in. Second, the room temperature is always high. There is no AC in winter. So i was always in toasting mode. However, i think their security is pretty good and strict to stranger coming into the hotel.

Nice hotel but too warm in the room

The room temperature control is really bad. When I set temperature to be 22 degree with AC on it went up to 28 degree. I need to call front desk many times to send the technician over to help.
I got this problem on 8 of my 10 nights stay.

The location is good. Very close to subway station and shopping malls. Lots of restaurant choices in nearby 3 shopping centers. Movie theater is just next door.

Location was great, though it was not easy to get taxis just by the roadside and needed assistance from staff all the time. Concierge team members Tim and King assisted during stay, booking taxis/cars via Didi/Uber whenever I needed and even printed out the receipts for my company reimbursement, taking an extra mile. Check-in staff could have been more approachable and friendly even though it can be really busy.

The Sofitel Wanda , although looks Beautiful when you first walk in, is losing its Grandeur. I'm sure the hotel peaked when it first opened but now the rooms are bit run down, and have a strange smell to them. People smoked in their room and you could smell the smoke on the hallways, the sauna and the pool smelt like mildew. The staff is very friendly though. Sorry, not impressed Sofitel .

Not close to anything touristy. The wall between the bedroom and bathroom is glass. They have a\"privacy\" screen but u can see right through it. Customer service was terrible. Expedia listed deposit at half the level of what they require. If something goes wrong they dont care to help. They act like the customers who arnt chinese speaking are not welcome.

Kind and helpful staff

Had comfortable stay- room is clean and nicely equipped. From the window you see big construciton field and highway with big congestion. Staffs are polite and helpful. Check-in process taking too long, but overall good hotel.

Aesthetics - Too extravagant for my taste
Room - Got upgraded to a huge room with a separate living area. Nicely lit with big windows.
Bathroom - Poor ventilation. Might need a stronger fan. Luxurious Hermes toiletries were provided.
Location - Near shopping malls and subway station.

Please keep watching smokers. I saw a man who was smoking in the room with open door, and continuously smelt smoking.. I could not bear.

friendly atmosphere and the high quality of the service. Rooms are quite comfortable, The staff is professional and wants to make sure you are always satisfied. Guest Relations Manager, who is clearly customer-oriented helped out alot.

Watch your pocket in this hotel!

Check all your bills in this hotel. I had in every of my bills charges not belonging to me.

Watch out when you ask help to front men for taxis. They will try to charge you up to 5 times of real cost.
Besides they do not speak 1 word of English, they will try to charge you unreasonable and unjustificable extra costs.
Bunch of thieves!!!
