If you are visiting for your first time to Costa Rica this is not the place. When we checked in at midnight we walked to our room, that was farthest from front desk, and the keys did not work. Had to walk back to get keys that worked then the door latch on the inside caught so we had to Jimmy it open. The rooms were not well maintained and the doors did not seal so bugs would crawl in the room and we would have to kill at least 5 bugs a day. The shower only had hot water so could not adjust the water temperature. The staff was not helpful at all and no one seemed to really know what was going on. No instructions were given to us that we had to make a reservation to use the restaurants for dinner. We went to have dinner the first night and only 1/3 of the tables were full. They would not seat us simply bc we did not have a reservation. There were only 2 of us. We paid for the premium to be able to eat at the restaurants. We tried to make reservations the next day and got declined on the app. Went to the front desk and had to wait then found out to make reservations we had to talk to someone else the front desk could not help. They had plenty of open times so there was no reason for it to have been denied when we tried on the app we were told to use. It seems more like a local vacation spot not for visitors from other countries. You get what you pay for here. Worth spending the extra money for a better experience. The views were great.

The room was “premium” it had an exclusive pool. the shower didn’t worked properly. No AC control. There were bedbugs. The balcony was nice

The food in general was bad, in some cases disgusting… when I asked for some ingredients for allergy they didn’t know and didn’t bother to follow back.

This hotel was a great find - but keep in mind that we stayed in the upgraded area, building 3. We did hear people complaining about building 1.

Everything was well looked after, the food was good, the grounds are lovely and the pools are terrific. I would definitely return.

Our needs were very well met. The pool activities were great fun. i enjoyed the Salsa and Merengue dance class with Ashley and Gustavo and the pool water aerobics classes were great fun. Lulu and others were great instructors.

I am on some medicine that needs refrigeration, and the staff brought me a medical refrigerator so I could get my medicine during the stay. They went above and beyond to take care of us.

The nightly dance shows are stupendous! We couldn't catch all the comedy dialogue in Spanish, but it was fun anyway, and the dancers and splendid costumes were amazing.

Ocean was visible from room...staff was friendly...no coffee available on property til 7 or 7:30. Not sure if we were habitually too late but tried to make reservations multiple times, sometimes days in advance, for the on site restaurants only to get rejected every time but one. Did not use many of the amenities as we were always out adventuring in the country and had no need for any of the amenities.

The location was great, the beach was beautiful. The room had extensive water damage and smelt like mold. The pool was dirty - milky water, stunk, and lots of tree debris. Lots of parking which was great and we could use the amenities while waiting for our room after an early arrival. The restaurant food was great - only with a reservation - but the buffet was not. We will not return.

Sinceramente pagamos el premium y no sentimos ninguna diferencia con el regular. Nunca conseguimos campo para cenar en alguno de los restaurantes a pesar que reservabamos temprano. Nos dieron habitaciones normales porque no habían premium, que todo bien pero no compensó con el resto del trato.

I recently stayed at this resort and was unfortunately disappointed by the experience. While there were a few highlights, the systemic issues with service and maintenance made for a stressful vacation.
Service & Communication:
The resort appears to cater almost exclusively to local guests. As an international traveler, I found the staff to be unresponsive and hesitant to assist. The biggest frustration was the à la carte restaurant booking system. It is completely unintuitive; when I reached out via WhatsApp, I was told to see Guest Services, who then simply told me to use the (non-functional) web link. This \"loop\" made dining much more difficult than it should be.
Room Condition:
The rooms are in desperate need of an update. Our shower head did not work properly, the balcony door was non-functional, and despite being a \"resort,\" our mini-fridge was never once restocked during our stay.
Dining & Coffee:
The food variety is very limited, with only slight variations day-to-day. Most surprisingly, there was no fruit served at lunch or dinner. For early risers, be aware that there is no dedicated coffee station; you have to wait for the buffet to open at 8:00 AM, and even then, there is no espresso-style coffee available.
Entertainment & Activities:
All evening shows are conducted only in Spanish with no English translation. Additionally, there were no water equipment rentals or organized activities available on-site, which was a letdown for a beach destination.

The hotel was very clean, food was good and the staff amazing. My reservation was for a king bed room but I received the 2 double bed room. They did try to change my room but found the king room dated and in disrepair. The hotel wifi was terrible. They have rules like can’t leave your towel unattended on a chair by the pool before 8:00 AM. If you do they may bag it and take it away. We found our belongings at the tool hut. Sun comes up a 6:00 AM. They are very punctual. If a bar opens at 4:00 PM. Don’t try to get a drink at 3:58. Stuff like that. I don’t think we would go back to this hotel.

Resort was very clean, it was obvious that the worked hard to keep it that was constantly. Staff was always super nice and welcoming. Security was always present but subtle about it. Everyone we talked to was always helpful in every way they could be. The food was all good with nice dinner reservations available at all 3 different restaurants on site. They all served very nice, very flavorful different styles of food, and the buffets the had were good too. We loved the place and will be back!

Everything you want to do you must wait in line. The food is abundant but certainly not top shelf. The help is very courteous and helpful. The problem is in the management. They seem to have a lack of staff at the places like check-in, bars, and certain spots in the restaurants where it is obvious that they want the inconvenience to be great so people do not wait for the good food items like meat.
The pools are full of kids. If you have children, this is a great place. If you are looking for a quiet more refined place, this isn't it.

The room assigned to us was in poor condition. The toilet did not flush properly, and the bathroom door remained ajar with no option to close or lock it—an issue that significantly affected our privacy.

When we first arrived the woman at rhe front desk was not very friendly and helpful...my room toilet was cery dirty and shower wasn't working properly...my son's room the shower wasn't working...my daughter's room, her toilet wasn't working...i called the front desk and it took 20 minutes before someone answered...The cleaning lady for our rooms came late everyday...The restaurant staff were amazing and very friendly...the front desk kept canceling our dinner reservation...the same woman from the first day at check in canceled our reservation and told us to eat at rhe buffet...then she didn't give us a ticket for the next day reservation...too many issues 😉

Been to many all inclusive and this one was the worst I’ve been too. I’m easy to please and am not a picky eater but the food here was so bad. Only place open was the buffet, the definition of quantity over quality. Mostly cold and tasteless food, we ended up leaving the resort early to go find food because the buffet and beach bbq snack bar was so terrible. Good stay....check in was good...no major language barrier....nothing against this hotel..but I would seriously suggest travelers stay in a regular/non resort hotel...you will save tons of $$...just my $0.02. Again, our stay here was good...but way too pricey...this is the only resort West of San Jose...in the Puntarenas area..I would also recommend staying on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica...East of San Jose...the beaches are white and the water is a vibrant blue...on the western side...(which is where this hotel is located)...the beaches are black and the water is dark...can't say I didn't like it...just not something I'm used too...this is caused by active volcanoes in the area....again...nice hotel...but I would look at other options....preferable on the Caribbean side of the county...incredible staff....

Staff is super friendly. Note - if you are from the US- you will be one of the only US citizens- this resort caters to locals so the language barrier is there. The rooms are very outdated and in need of a renovation so it appears dirty. The drawer fronts fell off, the closet door wouldn’t go on the track, fire alarm half missing- if fire occurred - we wouldn’t know- areas are rusty- due to the elements. If you just want to float in the pool all day- this place is for you. We wished that activities started earlier than 10 pm- but then again we wouldn’t understand the entertainment. We did participate in water aerobics- in Spanish but we could follow along.

Everything in Costa Rica takes some driving time. Don’t let the 1:20min drive from the airport discourage you.
Buffet food is okay.
Restaurants are good. Try the tuna tartare.
Area around the resort is busy and industrial.
Don’t waste your time driving around for souvenirs. There are no shops. The gift shop has average to low prices. Ask for coupons at check in. 10% off helps when you buy everything at once.
Airport has nice souvenirs if you don’t want to hassle during your trip, but it will probably be 20% higher. Buy your souvenirs during your excursions.
Don’t forget your Yetis’s or Stanley’s, Bars fill them with drinks.
Rooms are okay, but cleaned daily.
Rent a car and explore. We traveled to Monteverde, Waterfalls, Jaco…at our own pace.
Want to see monkeys, go to playa Manta.
The entertainment at the resort is hilarious. They’re interactive and remember your name.
I would go back. It’s mostly a locals place, but if you want to swim, drink, eat, and laugh you’ll have a good time. They do offer things to do and eat till 130-2am.
I would go back, and see the Volcano. During our stay the roads were not passable.
8 out of 10 for me.
The value $ was amazing.

Its worth it if you stay at the property the majority of the time and take advantage of what the resort is about but if your traveling to go explore Costa Rica, its not worth it. Food at the buffet was terrible, they had theme nights and the food each time was not worth it, terrible. The rooms etc are a little run down and could use some upgrades. Hotel itself had acceptable cleanliness and rooms were comfortable. The layout of the hotel was fine but minimal activities other than the pool. There were no amenities at the ocean. Would not recommend this place. Staff was mostly helpful, but the whole thing had the feel of a run-down cruise ship on land. Lots of \"this area reserved for people paying even more money\".

The very first thing we dealt with was being told that, because they were missing the ages for our kids (somehow), it would cost an extra $100 per night. Luckily we were only staying one night. Otherwise that would have been quite the disaster. This felt like false advertising.

Our room had no wifi signal at all. We asked the staff about this and they mostly just shrugged.

Towels cost $20 (USD) each if you don't return them. We therefore had to guard our $80 worth of pool towels with our lives.

The pools were pretty cool though.

Costa Rica has been a blast with tons of great hotels, friendly people, and fun times, but this place was definitely the low point.

The property was decent. The rooms need an overhaul. They are old, and the water went out at one point. I will say where this resort thrived was its food. The buffet was fantastic & changed every night so you didn’t get tired of the menu (we stayed 9 days). The restaurants they had within the resort were also solid. We had a car which is certainly preferable as a tourist in Costa Rica. It’s very safe and I wasn’t met with one aggravated local. All love, and willingness to share their culture. The staff was also great. Very accommodating and friendly. The bar closes early and the adult bar also only allows you to order if you have seat, and all of the nights we stayed it was full… so if you don’t get there early you’ll likely be waiting. Overall great experience, I would definitely go back to Costa Rica, the resort was good value.

This was fun as we went with a large group of our family. The check in was very chaotic though. The food variety was good and the entertainment was fun. Not too many refreshments stations for the amount of people staying at the hotel so the lines were long. For a 4 night stay we were legible for only one a la carte restaurant which I was disappointed with. No air conditioning at any of the restaurants, some fans but could use more ventilation for sure. We had a rude waiter that disrespected our meal by interrupting to tells us that we were at someone else’s table after it had been assigned to us. Despite complaining to customer service nothing was done and our meal and time in family will never come back. The infrastructure of the hotel appears old and could use more maintenance for sure. The kids club was fun for my daughter. The ladies that work there are the best! They are fun, responsible and truly care about the kids it’s clear that they love what they do. I hope they get the recognition they deserve! Will stay here again and will also recommend for an all inclusive close to SJ!

My coffee machine didn’t work I’m a coffee person so that really messed up my morning routine. I couldn’t call the reception because the phone didn’t work.they only gave me 2 white towels for 4 people that didn’t work.Other than that everything else was great

This failed expectations and was not as advertised. There was no opportunity for a night life as it had no true social bar. It had one bar that refuses to serve you unless you have a table to sit it and if there were no tables avaliable you wouldnt get served a drink. All alcoholic beverages tasted like water or fruit juice, badly made. The buffet restaurant served the same exact breakfast options everyday got boring. The food overall was not good and lacked any type of flavor. The hotel checkin process was in a hot theater that was very disorganized and they were doing it all by paper. Took a long time to get checked in. Outside of resort was dangerous, attempted to walk around at night and hotel guard told us to come back because we could get assaulted. The beach on the resort was disgusting and the water was not safe to go into. Had to drive an hour to another beach to be able to enjoy the ocean. They did do a good job at cleaning the property. Would not recommend staying here unless you rent a car.
