Lagos del Calafate os good value for the price, but it’s an older property that had a recent refresh in an effort to modernize. Beds are comfortable and clean, bit walls are thin - we could hear snoring in the toom next door, and voices in the hallway. Walk to town is about 15 minutes. Breakfast is included and so-so, nothing to remember. Overall, a fine place to stay but nothing out of the ordinary.

This is a really excellent hotel. It has a beautiful, old style and there has been a lot of attention to detail. The food is absolutely outstanding, the staff is excellent, and the views of the mountains over the lake are unforgettable. Price was very very reasonable. The only negative is that the Wi-Fi is pretty poor, but I suspect that has more to do with where it's located. than anything the hotel has control over. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

A good base for El Calafate, we had a decent stay here. Nothing special, but very pleasant. Highlights were the pool and spa area that was great, room and bed comfy enough.

Biggest issue was that this hotel has a lot of large groups and they are forever talking in the corridors outside rooms, sometimes as early as 5am or 6am, often waking us up. There really needs to be a door or a reminder to people not to have conversations outside the rooms. There's not a huge amount the hotel can do, but it is an issue.

We booked this hotel as a last resort since eveything else was booked. The hotel is away from main street, although is of walking distance, say 15 mins. Its entrance road is of dirt, so our stroller could not be used. This is a winter place so there is no ac in summer, meaning that you have to open the windows. Our room was next to the swimming pool, so we had no privacy!
Again, this hotel is just for spending the night and then you go...

Everything went well. The staff was especially nice and helpful. I was on the ground floor near the lobby and sometimes I could hear the noise, so I suggest a room further from there if you are sensitive to that. The walls are thin. I hear me people having sex one night. I did not care for that. But that was not the hotel’s fault. Bring your earplugs if you are sensitive to movie.

Since areas around Calafate are known for trekking and other activities, most tours operates very early! Although breakfast is included for our stay,the hotel does not offer packed BF to go before the buffet bar opens. It’s such a shame for such a resort hotel!

I had a reservation on Oct 30th but unfortunately there was strike on transportation in the country on that day and our flight to El Calafate was cancelled. Out of our control. All the tour companies and flights understood the situation and refunded customers including me.

However when I contacted Lagos del Calafate for the refund or at least a credit to use another time since we were strainded in a different city where hotels were cooperative of our situation and accomodated all of us stuck trying to make our way to El Calafate. But Lagos Del Calafate completely ignored my request as well as ignoring Hotels.com trying to reach out for me.
This is very sad and mean behavior from this hotel.

the walls are as thin as paper. you can hear everyone at all times of the night. we tried to switch rooms but still heard just as loud noises from the new room to which we returned back to our original room to try to get some sleep. you can hear snoring and talking from each room next to you. if i known this ahead of time i would've never booked here! this has ruined our vacation and will make sure to not recommend this property to anyone coming to El Calafate. the snoring and talking you can hear through earplugs. the kitchen and dining hall are too close and dinner hours are a nightmare as you hear everyone and even the silverware being used. they need to address this ASAP.

This is a very nice hotel in El Calafate. It is just off the main road, but the short route to the hotel is a gravel road. The hotel is also about a mile from downtown, so it is inconvenient if you want to walk to downtown and back. The breakfast was very good with hot and cold options. The dinner is okay, and I would recommend many of the restaurants downtown for dinner.

Great staff that try their best to keep this aged property going. The walls are very thin, so you can everything on the adjoining rooms. Food is reasonable. Pool is very nice, but now hot tub. The “fitness center” is a joke. Two pieces equipment from the 70’s. Over priced for the stay, but it is over the holidays. Again, really nice and helpful staff.

The bad thing of this hotel are some people of the staff. Very arrogant attitude and if you are an Latinamerican or even more, if you are an Argentinian, they are despicable. May be another kind of tourist can say that the treat was different because in fact it was!!! Very disappointed for the time that I spent in this hotel.

The hotel looks nice outside, but the inside looks cheap. The hotel rooms are separated by very slim wall. You basically can hear the neighbor's talking/noise. There is no shuttle bus service like some other hotels in the town will provide. The location is far but close to the airport. You need to taxi in and out almost all time, but peso is cheap anyway.

It is one of the larger properties in El Calafate. The front desk staff were all extremely helpful and friendly. The hotel is right by the first major roundabout that comes when heading towards the town from the airport. The city center is a bit further, but is a manageable walk from the hotel of about 15 minutes.

Great hotel, very clean, nice spacious rooms, lovely pool and spa, spa treatments are reasonably priced too. Staff are very welcoming and helpful.
Only one point to make it is not exactly in the centre of the shops and restaurants and a small walk (15 mins) to get to the heart of it. This is uphill on the way back so those unable to walk far would consider this (although can use taxis)

This hotel is quite overpriced for the price. I'd rank this hotel along the lines of Motel 6 in the US. Given how low the Argentine currency is, this hotel should be quite a bit cheaper. The location is not convenient for a small town. You can walk to downtown in 20 to 25 minutes, but this is not my idea of convenience. The breakfast is not good.

I loved this motel. It was the nicest of the 8 we stayed in during our stay in South America. The hotel had a great restaurant, massage centre and pool. Staff were all helpful and informative. Location was close enough to town but far enough away to have an unobscured view of the snow capped mountains we came to see. If I could spend two weeks there I would have been happy for that entire time.

Looks very luxurious from outside and not so good in our room. During our stay, the bathroom ceiling was leaking water from upstairs. The hotel management simply told the upstairs customers not to use the bathroom and did not offer us to change the room. Breakfast is complementary and fairly good. Walking to downtown takes 15mins.

Only 2 issues the rooms smelled musty and outside our bathroom it smelled like pee. They tried to fix it but it only helped temporarily. The other compllaint is that their pool is only open from 2pm on and the spa from 5pm on. So if you want to relax and use the facilities the day after seeing the glacier you can’t!!

This hotel is well maintained even if it is not contemporary. The front desk staff know basic English and helpful. Room is super clean. Wish it provides a coffee maker or tea kettle.
However, the sound insulation is poor. The next door couple quarreling about 3 hours in the evening was so loud! In the morning the hallway was full of smoking coming out from the room people smoked in the room and the staff did not do anything to correct.
The Spanish Seafood pasta dish is delicious, but the 2nd time we were charged almost extra 50% higher of the manuel price for the same kind of dish. The restaurant staff are not that friendly as the front desk and they do not speak English at all. Well, compare with the Main Street restaurant, the price at hotel restaurant is reasonable and tastes good.
Overall, this is nice place to stay and to eat the meals. If you give them tips, they smile.

Great quiet hotel with style and charm.

The Unique Luxury Patagonia is a charming two storey hotel that is close enough to walk to most of the El Calafate attraction and far enough away to maintain some seclusion. The staff were always polite and helpful and the restaurant was surprisingly good with very reasonable prices.
We ate at the restaurant for dinner on our third day and wished we had done so sooner. The food was great and competitive with the prices in town.
Breakfast was from 6 - 10 and although the selection did not change, it was varied enough that we ate differently on each of our four days.

Hotel entry and lobby gives you a feel it to be a classy and elegant hotel but the feeling goes away when you enter your room. Not spacious and looks old. Also basic amenities like hot water and tea, coffee not available in the room. Had to go and collect hot water every time it was required but the staff was courteous and welcoming.

We stayed three nights in this hotel and our overall experience was excellent. While the furniture and decor might be called tired, it was comfortable and everything was clean. The hotel was a convenient walk (15 mins) to the main street in El Calafate where all the shops and restaurants are located. The best part of the hotel though, was its staff who were very courteous and helpful throughout the stay. This included when one of my family got sick and the staff went out of their way to help us get appropriate drink and food, call a doctor, locate a pharmacy and get a driver who could pick up medication. We could not have asked for better service. The heated pool was also great for the kids.

It feels more like a motel-not a four stars hotel!

This is not a four stars hotel, but rather no more than three(3). Is in the outskirts of town-about a 15 min unconfortable walk partially in a dirt road. The hotel looks nice but is oddly situated in the middle of a low/middle income neighborhood.
The front desk-as such-is a caos, they were not expecting anyone and all guests were waiting for their rooms to get ready. We were asked to email our reservation as they had no records...a total improvisation! The rooms are moderate, the noise coming from outside (dogs barking, chickens, vehicles, etc) and the hallway was unbereable, no A/C and the front desk personnel is rude. The breakfast buffet was ok. Well, this hotel was such a disappointment that we cancelled 2 nights and flew out from Calafate after seeing the glaciers!

Totally worth it!

I stayed at Unique Luxury Hotel for three nights. Hotel is superb! has a fantastic pool which is open till 9pm. There's also a sauna and a spa. I booked massages for my family as they had a 2x1 promo and they loved it.
Restaurant is great, food was very good and they serve until 11pm. The village is a 15 minutes walk from the hotel.
Cons: The TV was quite old, there's no pay per view. Rooms have no Air Con which would have been an inconvenient would weather be over 28c.

We arrived for check in to be received by management to tell us it was impossible to stay and they has relocated us. Their excuse, broken piping, the truth they over booked rooms and decided they can compensate with free dinner. We paid for 4 star and we place at 2 start with NO REFUND. Think twice if you book this hotel you may get relocated with out notice until you arrived.

Hotel is a little out dated, but from all the other hotels we were able to observe, this is definitely one of the best ones. The hotel staff was extremely accommodating, and helped with all of our excursions.

The hotel is renovated in a great way. Most of the hotel staff can barely speak English which is probably not very helpful for foreigners who do not speak Spanish.

Impressive fascade

The hotel has an impressive appearance but on closer inspection shows many signs of wear. The hotel is situated on a hill outside of El calafate and is a long 15 minute walk on not the greatest paths to the centre. The hotel offers great facilities with pool and spa. The room was ok although it had many flies when we checked in and no air conditioning as advertised. The room was very hot as it faced the sun. Bathroom was nice with a good shower. Staff were very helpful when asked upon. However we left a piece of clothing in the room and on returning to collect it we were told we had binned it. The clothing did not fit in the tiny bin and having admitted to finding it was clearly taken. Advise use of safe provided.
