Enjoyed my stay at the Splendor by Wyndham El Calafate immensely. It was a very nice luxurious lodge, with spacious and comfortable rooms, lots of spaces for food and coffee, excellent cuisine, very friendly and professional staff, in a convenient location with Lake Argentina visible in the distance, with El Perito glacier accessible by guided or self tour. El Chalten and Mt. Fitz Roy are about 90 minutes from the hotel. I highly recommend the hotel.

Hotel is very nice, no issues at all except for breakfast which was disappointing. Eggs were luke warm, bacon was a small amount of greasy chips in a pan. I asked them to replenish and the lady looked and said there are plenty left. No Greek or low sugar yogurt was offered.

The Esplendor was a really great hotel and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to El Calafate! The staff was super friendly at the desk and in the restaurant, parking is easy, and it’s a quick walk from town but set back enough to be quiet. The rooms are large, comfortable, and well decorated. Really had an amazing stay!

Fantastic hotel. The location and the views are superb! The staff was fantastic and the laundry service was quick and affordable. Rooms were comfortable and very clean. My only but is that the breakfast service seemed a bit chaotic/slow: there were not that many guests having breakfast at the same time but food kept running out on the buffet. Having said that, i would come back to this hotel and would recommend anyone to stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a really beautiful location with great views all around. We loved the esthetic of the wood + fur decor with the large windows that allowed us to take in the beautiful landscape. It is walking distance to everything you need in town and when we needed to take a car the hotel was happy to help us out with arrangements. (I personally wish I had thought ahead to rent a car and planned better, just fyi for others. I think they had free parking if you choose this option.)

Finally, the staff at this hotel were really accommodating. They all spoke some level of English (the majority very good) and they were also happy to accommodate me wanting to practice my Spanish even though they clearly were inconvenienced by this since they could’ve quickly navigated the situation in English with me. I really appreciated this so much and felt it was above and beyond customer service. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend this hotel.

We really enjoyed the decor of this place and a very nice view over the lake. Parking was convenient. The hotel is somewhat removed from the centre of the town yet easily walkable.

We didn't much enjoy the food, it was very carb heavy and not to the **** standard.
Coffee in the morning was simply NOT coffee.

We enjoyed very much the nice welcome that included a refreshing cold mate and a cool damp towel to freshen up but once you enter the property's doors the view will take your breath away. Service was great in general, Hugo helped us at breakfast and explained to us the mate process. Hugo was just amazing! On the other hand, I have to say Marcelo, was our driver, and was supposed to take us on a day trip to the Brazilian side of the falls but the experience was not so great. Firstly he was not aware of the Brazilian board crossing rule and made us very nervous even saying we could be arrested so he took us all the way there and then decided to takes us back. He made us uneasy and nervous and then supposedly spoke to his supervisor saying then his supervisor said it was okay to cross. Needless to say we didn't want to do anything else with him. On top of that, he charged us 70 dollars to takes us back to the hotel although we stopped at Iguazú Town to buy some things. We thought that was a lot of money for the time. The next day we called an external taxi company that took us there and assured us that whole situation was not neccesary and for way less money. Lesson here, make sure you understand visa requirements and check all alternatives before you trust the hotel for excursions.

The hotel is beautiful, with very nice dining and spa/pool. Beautiful views of the town and mountains. The staff were very nice and helpful. They upgraded us to a corner suite. Breakfast options were very good, typical. The only negative was that the room was too hot, and turning off the radiators did not help. However, the windows could be opened. There were barking dogs nearby, but that was our experience at multiple hotels in Argentina. Would highly recommend.

The highs: Way above average food at the hotel restaurant! Chef is obviously talented, wish I remembered her name! and the service was fantastic! Shout-out to Gisela who was fantastic…Bar tender was friendly but disappeared every now and then (with 5 customers total in the bar area) which annoyingly broke the flow of the evening after a perfect dinner, so that sucked. Room was ok, bathroom sucked needs updating (skinny step-in tub shower!?) Location was a bit too far from the main drag but it’s a nice hotel overall with a small sauna and small heated pool (but no shampoo, conditioner etc in the shower). Some front desk staff great some boarder line rude (Bruno) wouldn't/couldn't help us earn Wyndham points, even after we explained, we could not access their site for the direct booking. And would not grant a noon check out ( 1 hour) even after spending almost $400 on food and beverages over 2 days, really!... could be managed better. Restaurant saved the stay, so we could ignore the deficiencies and loved our stay overall.

On the plus side staff were friendly, lobby area was nice and even though the room was fairly small and hot it was clean and in good condition. Easy to walk into downtown area.

Property is about a 15min walk from the main street in El Calafate up and down a hill. My initial room was terrible it smelled weird and all you coild hear was the sound of wind and the elevator. The front desk staff were super nice and accomadating and changed my room. The second room was much better. No funky smell and no sound of wind. Overall, the room was comfortable. Breakfast had a large selection of food. The staff were super friendly and helpful in setting up tours and calling taxis.

What a disappointment! This hotel was very expensive by any standard. Dated room with no A/C and no amenities. Mattress from the 1990's. Way to hot and impossible to sleep during the summer. Old furniture and tinny TV, huge bathroom with a lot of wasted space. Cold breakfast buffet with very limited options. The staff is very friendly, so at least you have that.

The property looked beautiful on the pictures but did not live up to the expectations. On the positive side - the hotel was very clean and the front desk staff were friendly and very helpful. Now the negatives: the pillows were lumpy, the room on the third floor was extremely hot with no air coming in even with windows open, the upgraded “Mountain View” room had mostly a view of the streets around the hotel (our second room with a “standard” view had a better view), the coffee at breakfast was horrible, and the $25 lunch boxes we ordered from the hotel were inedible. For the price we paid, we expected more from the hotel.

The hotel is perched on a small hill overlooking the beautiful lake, it’s a 6 min walk from the Main Street. The area is safe.
We arrived at the hotel with a booking of a Mountain View, I enquired about the cost for the lake view and we got a free upgrade without asking. The staff were wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was great, the scrambled eggs were not out of a pack. The fruits were fresh and the croissants delicious. The room was huge with the most gorgeous views. No ac but it’s not needed, you can open the windows.

I initially purchased a queen sized bed hotel room. The room was very small. Truly only space for a bed. This particular hotel room is tucked in a corner. Virtually looks like it was turned from a closet into a hotel room to increase revenue. This room should be sold at a highly discounted rate as cheaper hotels have nicer rooms than this one. I would like to note that the property did rectify this situation to improve my experience but it wasn’t until after I walked to another hotel to look at an alternative option.

Las instalaciones son muy buenas tienen TODO para ser un super hotel, gente amable, vista impresionante, cerca al centro, alrededores verdes con un parque enfrente y se pierden en lo facil 😩 los amenities en los baños son de muy baja calidad y ponen un mini JABON DE PASTA para la ducha imposible en estos tiempos !!! El desayuno fue muy pobre en variedad pedi unos huevos fritos y fueron grasosos mal presentados no quise probar el restaurante por miedo al desastre !!!

Great hotel within easy walking distance of the centre El Calafate. We stayed in September and, while it was cold outside, all areas of the hotel were nice and warm. All the staff we encountered were similarly very warm and friendly.

The buffet breakfast was a little limited in terms of savoury options, but was perfectly adequate. The pool area was clean and the water was a good temperature; it's just a pity that it's not open in the morning for days when one isn't heading out early.

Overall though, we found the hotel offered very good value for money and would certainly stay there if we visit the region again in the future.

Great hotel! The staff is amazingly friendly and helpful. The breakfast/restaurant/bar is very good. Easy to walk to town. My only suggestion is to add a refrigerator to the rooms. The only negative I would point out is that there is no air conditioning and the rooms get warm/stuffy. This would not deter me from staying at the Esplendor again.

I recently stayed at this property, and while the overall experience was ok regarding the cleanliness and location, a specific incident has led me to provide this feedback.

Upon check-in, I inquired about local tour companies, and the staff was helpful, helping me to book one excursion for that day. However, my satisfaction waned that evening with an unexpected room service follow-up around 11:30 pm.

A staff member arrived with a tray containing a cheesecake, two spoons, two glasses and mini champagne bottle, stating it was a courtesy from the property manager to which I asked if all guest were receiving that and she answered no.

This gesture left me uneasy, especially since my reservation was for one, and such gestures were not extended to all guests. At that point I had already a pretty tight schedule with the excursions I had reserved for the next couple of days, reason why I couldn’t change hotels, but made me feel unsafe so every night I was making to use something to block the door just in case.

I value privacy and respect during any of my stay, at any hotel, and this unsolicited intrusion felt uncomfortable. I hope this feedback helps in refining the guest experience. I tried to contact Expedia to report the incident but couldn’t find a way to do so, but would appreciate if an option to report this was built in the app.

Cleanliness was ok and staff was good but my concept room was hot. Hard to believe I am complaining about excessive heat in the room Patagonia even without heat on but true. I had to go down to front desk to talk about switching in the middle of night. It took awhile but staff was kind enough to switch my room which is mountain facing but more importantly it was comfortable to sleep for four nights.
