Lovely property with friendly, professional and attentive staff. Great location, only a couple of blocks from all the restaurants and shops. Delicious breakfast with lots of choices. Spa, bars and restaurants on site. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in El Calafate!

The room was clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety of options. The pool area was a highlight! There is a big pool, hot tub, 2 cold plunges, sauna, steam room and individual soaking tubs. Overall, a very relaxing stay!

Great location close to town for easy walking to dinner and shops. Rooms were a bit outdated but clean. Restaurant service was so-so with very odd hours. For example, the libby bar was not open most of the time and no bars open on New Year’s Eve. Kinda strange.

Room was clean. Staff was lovely! Breakfast was very good. Room is warm and there is no way to cool it down. It was 55 or less outside and we were never able to lower the room temp. We always had the window fully open but it only opens a small amount. That is our only complaint. Beautiful wooded property. Great bartender at the bar. Comfy seating around the pool table and comfortable lobby. Lots of action with groups constantly moving in and out. Obviously a favorite property for tour groups, guides and individuals.

Excellent location very near downtown, with access to many restaurants. The staff are VERY helpful and the dinner options in the main restaurant were great. We enjoyed our stay here as a base to visit the glaciers.

The property is extremely well maintained and clean, and the staff was always courteous and accommodating. We also appreciated the large gathering areas in the lobby.

Room amenities were meager. Hotel has good bones but rooms are dated, bathrooms small with obstacles (small shower with a bar in the way), and room amenities sparse. Too many lights shining outside the property…too many motorcycles cruising the streets at night. Hard to get a good night’s sleep. Gym had adequate equipment, but no cleaners available so felt dirty. Breakfast decent but busy.

Posada Los Alamos is rated as a 4-star hotel and is often considered one of the better options in El Calafate. Unfortunately, our experience did not match those expectations. The room we were given was more in line with a 2-star motel, quite basic and disappointing, especially considering the price. This room is shown among the online room options, so it wasn’t a one-off issue.

On a positive note, the breakfast was good, and the hotel facilities overall were nice. However, the accommodation quality was far below what we expected, and we felt the price paid was not justified. I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

It was an excellent stayed at this hotel, beautiful surrounding, the staff where very helpful at all times, the included breakfast was one of the best I've had in hotels around the world, I would definitive stay here again, and recommend it to others.

The only bad thing, I guess it can happen to anyone, is that room service lost my expensive sleeping eye mask, reason for not leaving them any tip in the room.

Pros: Hotel grounds are really nice, room was also nice. Staff also helpful. Breakfast is good.
Cons: Bathroom was worn and tired. Overall the hotel is dated and tired. Probably a 3 star, definitely not 5 star. Had to wait 45 mins for room.

Everything was great about the hotel except the restaurant (the one that serves dinner). The food was mediocre, way overpriced, and really, really terrible service. Besides that, I highly recommend this hotel. The massage service at the spa was great and priced very reasonably. The general level of service all-around was good. Excellent buffet breakfast each morning was included and started at 6:30 AM which is great for those with a morning pick-up for excursions. I'd definitely return here and do recommend it, just don't eat dinner at the hotel, it is right in the center of town anyways with plenty of restaurants around.

This seemed like one of the more upscale hotels in El Calafate. The grounds were very pretty, the room was an adequate size and very clean, personnel were very friendly and helpful and the dining room food (breakfast) was very good. Restaurant was not good. Salmon was dry, trout inedible. Salad was boring. Bread was good. Breakfast buffet was more than adequate. We were four couples in total. There was a significant difference in our rooms. Not sure how or why as we all paid the same,. I suggest you request a renovated room.

This is very high standard accommodation. A large by Patagonian standards but doesn' t lose the personal touch. Staff in all areas are very pleasant and helpful, and make you feel welcome. Reception staff ( especially the gentleman there most days with the lovely smile) were particularly helpful. Our room was very comfortable & spacious, heating could be adjusted by turning radiator on & off (important in Patagonia where hotels tend to be over-heated) and the window opened. Hotel had an excellent location just a few minutes from town centre ( or the lake, in the other direction, and a few minutes along the road were several really good mid-range restaurants.
But book early - this hotel sells out quickly as a number of tour groups seem to use it.

The hotel didn't quite hit the mark for us. Whilst the communal areas are spacious and very comfortable our room was ok but there was an unpleasant smell from a drain in the bathroom floor. We did report this and some action was taken in minimise the problem but it was never fully eradicated.
The hotel is in a great location and the external grounds were beautifully kept.
The bar staff were really friendly and we must say a special thank you to Emma for the excellent service always delivered with a smile despite the language barrier.

This property felt more like a 2-star lodge, vs a 4-star hotel.
-The grounds, common areas and location are very lovely and 4-star level. Breakfast was decent.
-But the rooms and service were quite the opposite. Very dated, not very clean. The walls are paper thin so you can hear everything in surrounding rooms, including people using their bathrooms. It felt more like a dormitory or lodge, vs a hotel.
-My initial room had broken radiators leaking brown liquid and could not be turned off to eliviate the very warm temperature. It also had large bugs everywhere, (after the front desk snapped at me and said there were no bugs.)
-They moved me to a new room with 2 twin beds, of which one collapsed down when I laid on it.
-The staff was very cold to me when I shared my frustrations. There was also loud music playing from the golf club building that echoed throughout the entire resort. When I asked how long the music would last the gentlemen at tbe front desk said till midnight and then sharply said, “just wear ear plugs.”
I was traveling solo, keeping to myself and felt the treatment from the staff was cold. With the exception of the gentlman who checked me in. I wish he had been working the entire time. Iwas in tears the second night from the harsh interaction with the desk staff. I have never posted a negative review but the lack care from the staff with the issues I experienced and did not create, was very upsetting and left a lasting, negative impression.

About 5mins from the main street of El Calafate. The hotel has the feeling of a log cabin, which excellent spa-swimming facilities. The hotel is spread over 2 sites, opposite each across the road. Friendly staff and a nice place to stay for 1-3 days. Solid 4 star hotel.

Beauty is only skin deep!

The exterior of the complex is lovely. Great landscaping and area is lovely. The rooms are very basic - the bathrooms are tiny. The “free WiFi” continuously got cut out. Very disappointing!

Needs a facelift

I stayed at this hotel as it was the launching point for a vacation. However, my room (385) was not clean, the room was exceptionally hot even with the windows open and the constant noise from traffic and other guests prevented a restful sleep. I would not want to stay here unless I brought a fan to cool down the room.

Wonderful hotel, great location

Myself and two coworkers stayed there during a weekend trip to Calafate. It was in a really great location, walking distance to everything you need. Breakfast was good, the hotel staff was fantastic (very welcoming), rooms were good enough for what we needed. Highly recommend.

This is a beautiful property and conveniently located. Beautiful lobby area, spacious and clean. Friendly staff. Too bad bedrooms are small and as I had read, a bit noisy considering residential neighborhood nearly, could hear dog barkings in early mornings. Bathrooms are small and a bit unconfortable. But if I had to go again, I would pick this hotel because of it's proximity to town, airport and shopping, all within walking distance.
