The Mirador is a good 4 star hotel. It has excellent location near downtown. The place is clean . Good restaurant. Very attentive service.
The rooms are comfortable but extremely hot. They have floor heating and somehow they cannot regulate the temperature well. It was truly suffocating and we had to open the windows in extreme cold to make it bearable. They said the setting was in low but boy that was a steam room and dried your airways a lot
They need to do something about it because otherwise the place is very comfortable.

Overall enjoyed our stay. The housekeeping service was excellent, like walking into a new room every time we returned from our outings. The staff were helpful and mostly friendly. The hotel is located outside the downtown area but close enough to walk into town. There’s an excellent panaderia/bakery just half a block away. One critique was that we paid for a lake view room and i would describe what we received as a semi-partial view. Next time I would not pay for a lake view room since the lake is a 5 minute walk.

Overall a good hotel. The name mirador was a littel disapointing because the view of the lake was okay but not special. i.e. there is a view and its a genuine viewpoint just the lake is far away from here and the elevation isn't great for it to be a great view. Overall friendly staff and good hotel for the area and price point

This hotel is located at the west end of town, surrounded by good restaurants and one block away from the fabulous pedestrian walkway along the water/wet lands ( great for birdwatching).
Our room was on the first floor, very small, dark, poor ventilation, unfortunately. It was the only room avail when I booked online, also the cheapest.
The young man ( evening shift til 11am) was fantastic! He was friendly (always big smiles), helpful and spoke good English. He was excellent at problem solving.
Breakfast was good! Multiple tour groups stayed at the hotel while we were there but there was room for everyone in the breakfast area. Wish they had drinking water available in the lobby but no big deal.
I really enjoyed the hotel and will stay here again but in an upgraded room. Do not recommend rooms on level 1 (lower level)

We loved this hotel, located at the end of the town. You need to walk a bit to get to the restaurants and shopping, but it offers quietness in return. The beds were comfy, breakfast was fantastic, with really good pastries. Shower could use a renovation.

Check in was good and a pleasant warm welcome. However room was extremely hot with no option to adjust the temperature and coupled with thin walls (we could hear neighbours talk), made it a terrible night’s sleep. Reported the heat and the failing door lock the first morning befits going on tour. When we returned nearly 12 hours later, nothing was done, and same hot room despite opening the window for a while as recommended. Not acceptable considering how much we paid for this room.

This hotel is conveniently situated about 1 mile west of town towards the glacier. We stayed 2 nights in a superior room which was a good size. Rooms were very comfortable and clean, but felt a bit dated. The worst was poor sound insulation between rooms so we could hear the conversations of the group next door both evenings.
We had everything we needed, very good breakfast buffet but could have done with water fountains in the hotel (might have had them but didn't see them)
Good service from reception staff, very attentive and helpful.

Lovely hotel. So cosy, very homely. I upgraded to a superior, lake view room. It wasn't expensive. Would highly recommend doing this if you can. Huge and spacious room, big bed and a view to die for! Lovely to wake up to each morning. Clean. Housekeeping was done well each day. There was a fridge in the room, tea and coffee and a hairdryer if you need it. WIFI worked well. Breakfast buffet was lovely with a good selection of breads, pastries, fresh fruit, cereal, eggs and more. Staff were friendly and pleasant. Good location on Avenida del Libertador which is the main thoroughfare in El Calafate. Come out of the hotel, turn right and literally walk straight. You will then start to find loads of restaurants, shops and a few bars. One small negative, the hotel especially the room was very warm. This is from someone who always gets cold! It is winter at present so I get the need keep the premises warm. However, it was just a little too hot for me and I couldn't seem to adjust the temperature control. Would recommend otherwise.

We loved our stay at Mirador del Lago. The hotel is beautiful, and our room was clean, spacious, and well-equipped, with one king-size bed and two twin beds. Good base to explore the Argentinian Patagonia.

This hotel offers a great base to explore the Argentinian Patagonia and Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. It has a rustic feel to it but it is clean and the rooms are comfortable.

As a base for adventurous tourists, they need better breakfast options. Most tours depart at 6 am and their restaurant opens at 6am. There is little to no flexibility in terms of preparing breakfast boxes or opening the restaurant earlier, so they need to work on this. We missed our breakfast on one occasion precisely because of this.

We ended up in El Calafate following a week of hiking across the border in Chilean Patagonia. In the end we decided not to stay an extra day in El Calafate to travel to the Perito Moreno glacier because we had seen a number of glaciers in Chile, so we had just one night at the Mirador del Lago, but it is a very nice hotel. In fact, the hotel was the high point of our visit to El Calafate -- even if the view of the lake is actually across a street and through some trees. A check of other dining options in El Calafate also led us to eat dinner in the hotel restaurant as well, and we were not disappointed.

I booked two rooms - one Superior with Lake View and one standard. As I arrived, I was told the lake view is not good since it’s on first floor and hence was asked to take a superior room with no view. I had no other option. The second room was so tiny that it was difficult to move around. The room smelled bad and I complained to the front desk. Someone came and sprayed air freshener.

Excellent ambiance and service. We were immediately greeted at the door and helped with luggage. Laundry service and lunch boxes excellent. Outstanding breakfast. Both homey and elegant with multiple lounge areas. Happy hour in airy room. Beautiful grounds front and back. Situated at the end of the Main Street so not in the heart of town but nicely at the edge of it. We enjoyed the spacious family room with lake view with great bath tub for three nights and would return again. Only week point that didn’t bother us but the room walls are a bit thin.

The hotel is beautiful and well located. However, at the lobby we were offered tours at \"market prices.\" We booked one tour, only to later discover they almost doubled the price of the tour. Makes me really angry when this happens. Maybe it was my fault for not calling their bluff. They do great as a hotel nonetheless.
