Hotel was a little bit tricky to find. really welcoming vibe though. Standart room is so small you cannot open the bigger luggage. But i was alone so it wasnt a big problem for me. Staff very friendly and helpful. It was nice to meet other guests in the lobby and chat.

I’ve had the best experience with this hotel. I’m a solo female traveler and I’ve felt safe the entire time, workers always acknowledge you anytime your coming into or leaving the lobby, check in was smooth, they had tea served to my room and Sam clearly explained everything. All the workers who I came across have warm and genuine hospitality. It’s close to the tram line so it’s pretty easy to get around. I will say the only part I was a little concerned about was the little ally walk to the hotel, it’s like a 2 min walk that could use some light once it get darks but besides that I would definitely book it again

The staff here are excellent. Incredibly kind and hospitable.
The room was clean and spacious. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The shower pressure and temperature were great.
The location of the hotel worked very well. I was able to walk everywhere I went.

Location is perfect. The staff went above and beyond to help us during our stay. They gave us lots of recommendations. My suitcase also didn’t arrive at the airport and they helped greatly with the delivery logistics by calling the airline for me ect. The lovely lady staff even gave me her jacket to use during her shift as I didn’t have any warm clothes with me which I truly appreciated! Highly recommend this hotel.

- Excellent location for public transport
Tram, buses, Kabatas ferry terminal were only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. 15 minute walk to Dolmabahçe Palace, and 30+ mins walk to Galata bridge

- Service and cleanliness was fantastic!
All the reception staff were fluent in English and other languages. I especially appreciated the heartwarming service from Sam, Abdullah, and Mia. They were all friendly, helpful, and thoughtful, checking in with guests regularly. It created a very welcoming community for all travelers to gather.

- Clean and spacious rooms
Housekeeping came every day to clean (and tidy) the rooms. 3+ electrical sockets in my room for charging. Plenty of storage space, cabinets, shelving etc. I've stayed in many hotels and this one bedroom was larger than most. Could imagine someone staying here for 2 - 3 weeks if needed.

- Cats
The hotel staff take good care of the cats on this street, leading to many strays (at least 6) who can regularly be found relaxing around the property. Many of the cats are friendly, clean, and well behaved, so I enjoyed petting them every night!

- Being on the first floor (above the lobby) meant my room could sometimes pick up street noise or other guests. But generally the area was quiet after 1am, and very safe.

- If arriving from the IST airport, I recommend taking a taxi to the hotel instead of public transport (3+ changes).

I chose Union Hotel Port because Google Maps showed that it was close to the area I wanted to be at and it had excellent reviews. Since I was traveling by myself those last two days, it was especially important to me that I feel safe.

My stay here exceeded all expectations. From the moment I walked in the door, I felt welcome and at home. I was greeted with tea and an invitation to sit down while the desk clerk answered all my questions, helped me map out the best route for where I wanted to go, and gave me recommendations for other well known sites and places to eat.

The room was modern, quite roomy, and absolutely spotless. It had the best bathroom of any hotel I have been in either in Greece or Turkey with a completely closed in shower that gave instant hot water, a long counter space, with open storage shelves beneath. An absolute delight. Bed was comfortable and cozy!

I appreciated the convenience and comfort of being picked up and taken to the airport. It was well worth the additional cost.

The customer service of this hotel is beyond excellent. One of the ladies on our tour had left her coat in a previous part of the country. Since I was staying on for a couple days, she had the hotel where she left it send it to me in hopes that I could bring it to the states. While it did not arrive in time, the staff bent over backwards to help solve a problem that was not at all their concern.

I highly recommend this hotel to other tourists!

We booked a room on the new wing that does not have an elavator (which was clearly stated by the hotel), the room was a nice size and clean. We had the highest room that came with a balcony but sadly it rained while we were there so we didn’t use it. The nice things about the Union Port was it’s location. You are 3 minutes from the tram, 10 minutes walking to Karabatas Ferry Port and we could walk to Taksim and Karakoy. (40 minutes)
The next best thing is the staff, especially Sam, he was always friendly and helpful. He arranged for our luggage to be brought up and down the room. For the price, it is a decent choice to stay at the Galata area.

First time in Turkey and grateful we stayed in Union Hotel Port for couple of days. As soon as we arrived, lady staff was so pleasant, nice, friendly and accommodating. All of them stand out, excellent and top notch with each own expertise of work. Sam was one of them. He was very helpful on our last day by assisting our transportation to the port. He was really a great entertainer not only to our group but also to other guests. The room was small but it was clean. No opportunity to avail the amenities. We so fortunate to have booked this hotel.Sam, the concierge was such a help to us as we arrived to the hotel with dead cells phones. Sam and the other staff charged the phone for us. Sam went above and beyond to assist us in getting to our booked excursions. Without his assistance and direction we would not have the great experience that we had in Istanbul. We appreciate your wonderful service and encourage any travelers to stay at this hotel and experience the First class experience we had. The hotel is in walking distance or using the tram to get to the famous sites. The hotel its self was very nice clean and perfect before a cruise. A bakery and a place for a full breakfast was just around the corner. Very delicious!. I had read previous reviews about the hotel and Sam. It was a pleasure to receive this type of personalized service.

The rooms were clean and nice. Sam made you feel at home right away and ensured you were always taken care of. When we got up in the morning he pointed us to great breakfast place/bakery nearby. My daughter was really interested in the cats that live in the alleyway, so Sam let her know which ones were ok to pet and which ones were a little more wild. Would definitely stay here again, as Sam made you feel at home!

I cant express enough how wonderful my stay was, from the wonderful staff Ardalan answering all my questions and booking transportations for me, Mariam for her warm good bye , Sam for the tea and carrying our luggage's. Absolutely incredible hotel. It’s so convenient to the cruise port, walkable to bridge to mosques. But what tops this hotel is the service. Very easy and short walk to the waterfront and Galata port, with easy access to taxis and public transportation. Not too far from Taksim but the walk is uphill. After spending 5 nights at Union Port Hotel, we traveled to Bodrum but decided to cut our trip short just to spend one more night in beautiful Istanbul. As 3 females traveling together, we already felt safe and cared for during our first stay, so we had no doubt about returning. The staff’s warm service and clear communication made everything easy—from arranging transfers to thoughtful gestures like bringing coffee mate at 2:30 AM. The location is perfect, just steps from the tram and close to Galataport and major attractions. This was our first time in Türkiye, and as three women traveling together, we couldn’t have chosen a better hotel. From the start, communication was outstanding—the staff reached out a week before arrival to confirm details, offered airport transfer (for a fee), and during our stay helped arrange taxis and gave great recommendations. The level of service was phenomenal and always exceeded our expectations. One night at 2:30 AM we mentioned we were out of coffee mate for the morning, and within 5 minutes someone knocked on our door with a handful of packs—that really showed the staff’s care and urgency. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and very comfortable. The location is excellent: steps to the tram, a short walk to Galataport, and only a few stops to Galata Tower, Spice Bazaar, and Sultanahmet etc. We felt safe, welcomed, and truly cared for throughout. Special thanks to the owner for ensuring we felt comfortable, Maryam, Ardalan AJ, for their warmth, great communication, and constant support. Sam thank you for all your recommendations and ensuring we’re ok during our stay!!. Because of them, we even returned to stay again after visiting another city. The Union Hotel Port is a boutique hotel. It is busy, but does not have the high-volume traffic that larger hotels experience due to their size. Consequently, it allows Sam, Mariam, and other Union Hotel Port staff members the opportunity to extend a personal touch to each of its guests. They certainly made me feel at home, although I was thousands of miles away from home.
Union Hotel Port is within walking distance of waterfront shopping, restaurants, boat excursions, the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, public transportation (tram and subway), and much more.
Simply put, the Union Hotel Port is a wonderful stay for travelers who want a hotel that is accessible to Istanbul's many entertainment, retail, and historical sites.

Sam really did an outstanding job as the Chief Entertainment Officer! One of the friendliest people I’ve ever met in Turkey. He made our stay so happy and stress-free—from arranging seamless hotel transport to offering us coffee every time he saw us, always making sure we were well taken care of and had everything we needed. Truly seamless service!

The hotel is great value for money, with a good location and excellent coffee offerings. Nothing more to ask for! It felt like home.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Sam and all the staff were so friendly. The service was excellent and perhaps the best we have ever had in a hotel. It’s in a very convenient area close to transport - trams, buses, ferries. Great selection of places to eat too. Our room was large for 3 people. Beds very comfortable. We were only a few tram stops away from the touristy areas. Only negative was the bathroom - it was dated and the shower was tiny.

The people working are like family, the bed was good (firm) nice pillows. Great water pressure. Really nice hotel room design with everything you need, blowdryer, slippers, soaps and lotions high quality great scent. They offer coffee, cappuccino, tea, luggage storage. It was perfect for me.

I stayed at the Union Hotel for about 5 days as a solo traveller. The room was perfect and had everything I needed, but the best thing about the hotel is definitely the staff. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Sam was especially helpful and I really appreciated all the recommendations around the city he gave me. The location of the hotel is also very convenient, albeit a bit of a workout sometimes due to the steep incline of the streets! All in all I would highly recommend this hotel and wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Amazing hosts, thank you Sam and Mariam for the amazing service.

The hotel was clean and situated in a very convenient spot with the kabatas ferry and M1 line nearby.

One thing I would say is this may not be ideal if you have a car as there is no parking on hotel premises; however there are paid parking lots nearby.

Overall it is a great place to stay and I would definitely recommend

Staff was very very friendly and accommodating. They understood the reason for my trip and took good care of me. 5/5 star service hands down, would definitely recommend. Walking distance to the train station and bus stop so be sure to take full advantage of the day passes because you will save alot of money on transportation

A good night stay in Istanbul

The hotel is located in a convenient location yet we need to walk up about five floors to our room. The room itself is clean and spacious and has a view to the ocean. The staff is very friendly and offered us cappuccino in the morning. He would also like to provide other information upon request.
