I recently stayed at a hotel that left much to be desired. The overall cleanliness was appalling, with grimy surfaces and questionable stains. To add to the discomfort, the absence of a bathroom inside the room was inconvenient and disappointing. The shared facilities were no better, showcasing a lack of maintenance. Definitely not a place I'd recommend for a comfortable stay.

You need to know that the shower and the toilets are NOT private as it may understood from the pics and the concise text, they are public, and in each floor. That is my only problem with this hostel. And it was a surprise, because i didn't get it when i booked a double bed room. Besides that, the stuff was SO nice and welcoming, they clean all the time so even if the toilet and the public area become unpleasant, it is very quickly being fixed, and they make sure that people will be quiet and consider others in the evenings. The location is superb. The guy that work their most of the day's hours is Shadmal, a beautiful soul, very kind and friendly. He made the entire experience into a pure pleasure.

I had booked the property via different website but the review would be same. To start with I had booked a single room. Instead when I arrived they gave me an entire dorm room for myself. So I had to share bathroom and toilet with others. The building is old, which is okay but not enough is made to keep it clean. Bed sheets were dirty. The toilet was dirty. Shower had water clogging. Not enough pressure on taps etc. And just one bathroom and toilet for 3 or 4 dorm rooms. Which is 12 or 16 people. I would recommend this place only if you have no other option.

Its an excellent place is the heart of Taksim and budget friendly. Staff was nice and welcoming. The only thing I would expect them to improve is in terms of service, there was no towel & AC remote in my room so I had to went all the way down from 3rd floor and 3 times to follow up for a towel, whle I was already late for my event. It took more than an hour to get the towel as there was only 1 person in reception and he was busy in checkin guests. Normally to arrange it better it should be kept in room in advance. The WiFi didnt work at a times at night, but otherwise it was fine. The place is small and not as shown in the pictures. I booked a single room but the bathroom was not attached. This information was not clear in the description while booking. The place was very clean

I like the way they behave with customers, it was our first visit to Istanbul so we didin't know alot about what should we do and where should we go, so we just asked them and they helped us with precious information.

The staff were really very helpful and the location of the hostel was tremendous. The beds were fine. For the money, I found comfort and security that I didn't really expect. Having a 24/7 reception is very nice. Best two star Hostel!

It sure was amazing and was my second time staying here. Istanbul is a beutiful city and when we missed our flight, we gave it another shot to Levanten and Istanbul. We didn't walked around this time but we had a nice night at the Taksim street.

My brother and I stayed here for three nights and we really enjoyed our visit. The staff was very helpful and quickly made us feel at home. The free family dinners each night were really good (especially the kofte) and were a great way to meet people. The rooms/facilities were nice, and the hostel is close to a metro to get to the more touristy areas if you aren’t up for the walk. Overall, we had a really great time and I would definitely recommend staying here.

One of my favorite hostel. I stayed here earlier in the summer and came back again for few more days in Istanbul.Hostel locating at the center as it gives me chance to explore best bars of this city.Plus it is just right by Taxim square and metro or 5 minute walk to sea.

Nice hostel, generally quite place near the Metro and Taksim square.The place i stayed in had no bath but the place was clean. On the downside the hostel has no elevator but the staff were friendly and accomodating with bags.I will recomend this hostel for those travelling on a budget.The location is very central and the condition of the hostel was more than satisfactory.

Run off hostel that does not have real kitchen
I have chosen this hostel because I had morning flight and need to stay close to Taksim Square. In reality it was not so close. I would better of if I just go around and book on spot. I tried to find this hostel for nearly 1 hour from Taksim Square. I have used all my data on cell phone to use Google maps but Google twice brought me to the wrong place. Nobody in the neighborhood knows English or this hostel. I was not alone, several people had to hire taxi after trying to find it on their own. Not mentioning awful road with stairs and steep dissent.
The room was like a cell with floors with peeled paint and rug in stains. The shower in the day time had only cold water. The shower hand just hanging down, hook is broken. There is no elevator, and the stairs are steep. The hostel staff took my luggage up when I arrived and helped me with it on the way down otherwise I could injure myself.
They really do not have a kitchen, just the sink. They do not have a stove or any kettle, they use one burner gas stove of my grandma youth. I never saw such run down hostel with such little common area.

I was shocked when I have seen the hostel, me and my family could not stay for one hour till I arranged for another hotel, they refused the money I payed, I left the hostel after they promised me that they will refund the money if they rented the 2 rooms I rented, till now after I left Turkey no body called up, they took my money of the 5 nights rents ispite that I stayed for one hour only, it is a hostel for poor singles, I don't advise any family to stay in it

Terrible old beds, hotel didn't honor my reservation for two twin beds, instead gave us something different.

We arrived late at the hostel and were warmly greeted by the staff and offered tea or coffee. We decided on tea and it was our first time trying Turkish tea!! Very nice!!
We were brought to our room and shown around the bathroom. We slept very well. The next morning we enquired about a trip to Cappadocia and Oskan kindly took a lot of time to book a hostel, flights, transport and a hot air balloon ride.
Our flight was delayed and we missed our bus to the hostel but when we called Oskan he very kindly explained the best way to get there.
On the way home we were also delayed and when we called Oskan again he told us how to get back in time.
All in all the service was excellent and we highly recommend you stay at Levantel Hostel! Nice atmosphere, very good location and the best staff you could ever meet :)

We actually booked for only 1 night, but then we decided to extend our booking for 5 more days. Because the staff are really amazing, kind and helpful! and the location of the hostel is great! It's close to the main street calls Istiklall, all the main attractions are in walking distance. Bathrooms and common areas are always clean. So, we loved everyting about this place. Highly recommended! Thanks for everything love you guys! :)

We loved staying here! It is much more like a home but it still has atmosphere.There is a metro station right outside which takes you directly to the old city in just 3 stops(10mins) or you can walk which takes around 20/30mins but is a lovely walk. Staff were always super happy to help us.

I stayed at this little hostel during a quick visit to Istanbul. A five minute walk from Taksim metro station, it's a great stop off point for those visiting central Istanbul.My room was private single.Staff were friendly and helpful, and there is an all you can eat continental style breakfast for 4€
The building, rooms and toilets were all clean, as was the bedding.Don't set your standards too high when visiting this hostel, as it is truly a budget style place, which I had no issues with.

Istanbul was the last stop of my trip in Europe in 35days. I was worried of my budget since it would be my last stop so I needed a cheap place for staying. I stayed in 6 beds room. There were bunker beds and each bed had 2 beds. Mine was the bottom one and I liked it,there was enough free space for luggages so it was convenient. They seemed like they cleaned the hostel every morning. It was pretty clean. Overall, I was satisfied with my staying in this hostel.

A nicely located hostel, on the european side of istanbul. Had great help from the staff, very willing and able to answer any questions and always very friendly, even early or late in the day. Overall the breakfast for 4 euro was quite good, and the Wifi worked very well, much better then many places i've stayed where wifi is limited! Less then a 10 minute walk to the tram line that takes you to the historical part of the city, good local food places near by at reasonable prices, all recommended by the staff at the hostel! Only down side to the hostel was no A/C which was a bit tough in mid august with 35+ degree days! otherwise a great relaxed place to stay!
