After a long travel day, we were lucky enough to meet the supervisor, Hatice, at the front desk after we checked in. She was extremely welcoming and helpful with any of our requests. The rooms were spotless and beautiful, the spa was immaculate and the service was just outstanding! We are frequent guests of Sofitel in Dubai and San Francisco, so experiencing the wonderful service, especially by Hatice, has made us excited to come back in a few months!

Everything was perfect, till we had two family's move next door. They wouldnt sleep and make so much noises in the middle of the night. We couldnt sleep properly for 2 days due to these family and their children shouting and screaming. We told the receptionist but they still didnt stop

Everything about this hotel is first-class. The rooms are well-appointed and have great views (most of them). The staff is well-informed and unfailingly courteous and professional. Special praise for Muzaffer, the room attendant on the 4th floor. He was efficient, professional, and very friendly. I should that in general the location is excellent— many shops and restaurants within walking distance.

Beautiful Hotel, room was amazing (upgraded to a suite) with a large patio looking out on the Bosphorous, amazing bedroom with views. The staff and concierge were top notch. The breakfast had a vast selection of options to accomodate everyone.
The concierge (Kaan)went above and beyond - hit 5/5 on restraunt reco.mendations and helping plan our days, offering tourist suggestions and shops to visit.

The hotel location is in the heart of Taksim square. Easy walking to all the shops and Mosque. The rooms are beautiful, all new and modern. I loved the rain showerhead in the bathroom.
The staff is very welcoming and friendly. Candan and all the guest services staff helped us plan our days for the best tours, shopping , and restaurants.

Would not recommend staying here. I booked a luxury room for my family with a young child. This was confirmed! Arrived late night following a long flight to be told at check in at the hotel that my booking was cancelled. The reception staff was rude making out I cancelled it- why would I cancel it myself and then turn up at midnight! I was offered a standard room for one night instead of the four nights I had originally booked! Considering the mess up no one spoke to me the following morning. Definitely not 5star service and not Sofitel standard! Lucky I didn’t stay here longer.
I stayed at a much better hotel for the remaining 3 days! Would not recommend - chaotic and again ripped off over taxi arrangement to next hotel.

The room was clean and tidy and a decent space. Checked in and went to the roof top pool to relax after our flight only to be horrified by a dirty pool. Shocked to see this at the hotel. The staff were all friendly and the location is good.

Too noisy, as there is a restaurant on the rooftop. We change the room and be 2 floor below (Non smoking room) with a strong cold smok door.
Next day, we had the paper on the door to do the room, but we forgot the red light DNT...they chose the option DNT instead of the paper on the door...
We asked a cocktail at the bar, and we were said that the manager was eating, so they can't do the service (There was too persons). They suggest us to go to the dancing restaurant, but it we were just looking a peace place on the terrasse to sip a drink...We did not ask more for the rest of our stay

Whether it was arranging last-minute dinner reservations, suggesting hidden gems around the city, or simply checking in to see if we needed anything, Kaan’s attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction were unmatched.

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend you booking the premium rooms. Whilst the view is beautiful, I wasn’t able to sleep at all. There is a nightclub on the rooftop and the music was playing until the very early hours.

When speaking to reception, it seems that this is a known issue and the receptionist showed very little compassion. I question why sell these rooms at a premium price, if you can’t sleep at all.

The sound from the night club on the 9th floor is very disturbing to rooms with Bosphorus view (which are the most wanted and expensive rooms). We started our stay on the 8th floor. We wanted to sleep at 11:00pm but couldn’t due to the music. I called to complain about the noise and I was surprised that Guest Relations said “yes, guests complain about it and the music will continue until 12:30am. I asked for a different room for the second night onwards on the same side. I was given a room on the second floor. The sound was still be heard but less. I believe this is hurting the hotel and needs to be addressed. Secondly, the floor in the showers is not sufficiently sloped and causes the bathroom to flood. We experienced this in three rooms. The hotel facilities and service are very good. The above two areas and the doner kebab shops in front of the hotel entrance lets it down. Hope this feedback helps.

Even though I was disappointed when I arrived at the hotel, my room was not the room I requested, Staff especially Mr. Jon from the reception, was very reassuring that he will fix this problem the next day. To my amazement, he lived up to his promise and upgraded me to a lovely room. I was more than happy and for sure will come back to this hotel. One disappointment was the pool area where there was one help and he was not available all the time.

Don't be misled by the parking offer

Classy and well furnished and decorated apartment. Poor sleeping facility for the third person despite the pretty high price. We were attracted to the hotel for its parking, which was advertised on the website, but it turned out that it was not run by the hotel and we had to pay separately to a different company a lot of money for keeping our car outside the parking on the busy Taksim street all the time and we got stressed that it would be damaged by the flying by cars and bikes. There are cheaper, safer and more convenient parkings 50m away, so we felt misled and cheated.

The Sofitel Taksim has lovely views of Istanbul from the rooms, but like many hotels in the city center, the area it is in is quite busy.

The security and scanning at the main entrance is meant to provide safety but is, admittedly, a little unsettling.

Overall the rooms are nice - within what is expected from a Sofitel, and the food was good.

I am not happy with my overall stay at Sofitel for four nights rooms are small and there is no customer service people at front desk are very rude I got cut on my hand and I went to them for first aid box they simply said you have to buy from pharmacy no courtesy very rude not staying there next time I loved the location very convenient that’s why booked the hotel but won’t recommend to anyone.

Air conditioning not working first 2 days.
The fixed. This caused a large leak from air con vent.
Leak not fixed. Electricity tripped. Twice. Last tripped was when we were to leave so couldnt shower or pack.
Hotel gave us another room to shower and get ready.

The only thing that was negative is the breakfast, they close at 11 and at 10:30 they start removing the food . At 10:30 they were out of croissants and when i asked one of the chefs , he told me it’s 10:30 and it’s finish . Everything else was good and we enjoyed the stay there

Lovely hotel in a convenient location to walk around the hustle and bustle of Taksim. Staff generally helpful when asked, although a couple of members near reception a bit moody. Special thanks goes to Ertugrul Can Erduran for the lack of a facility not working but making up for it with a very kind gesture. Room service staff were also fantastic, keeping the rooms clean and tidy for when we returned and felt like they went the extra mile.

The place is well looked after. They need to do alot of work on their aircon system. I was there previously for 5 days and then also we had issues. I booked again for a one night stay and the ac didnt work. I requested them to sort it out and they said they would do it from the main panel but nothing was sorted. It resulted in a very very uncomfortable night.

A fantastic customer experience

We came to Istanbul for a joint birthday celebration weekend - the team at the Sofitel made our weekend really special.

The warm welcome on arrival from the front office and concierge was superb! They took care of us from minute one, helping us plan our stay, booking restaurants for us and sharing advice and tips on getting the most from our 3 days here.
The customer experience team gave us a great surprise after our first day of sight seeing with balloons, happy birthday wishes and cakes and treats in our room - it was lovely.

Our room was fabulous with views of the Bosporous, really comfortable and cleaned beautifully.

Special mention to Kaan from the concierge team - who is quite simply the best concierge we have come across for many years. Fantastic attention to detail, he went over and above to make our stay in Istanbul exceptional! Thank you!

I would think this is the best location in Istanbul. You walk out of the hotel and straight into Taskim Square - with hundreds of eating, shopping options. Getting to all the major sites is quick and easy. My only negative feedback of the place was, I had asked the front desk to keep a small bag for the next couple of days as we were travelling out of Istanbul and they just refused to do so. Have stayed in other Accor Properties and other brands but never such a request denied. Was quite disappointed due to this..

Great location, lots of food options around, the room was great but the thing that didn't cut out for me as a 5-stars hotel was the front of desk. They ain't very friendly, didn't even say hello when we met a couple of them in the main lobby. For the 2 days stay, the only person who greet us were the security staff, ironically. Don't think I am asking for too much, sometime service staff are being complacent.
