Requires a lot of improvements. Not recommended.

Hotel exception st was rather nice, but reluctant to solve issues. Lobby smells bad - feels like something is wrong with sewerage or ventilation. Room was not clean - dusty and sheets had holes.
And judging by water paths on the walls - it probably has fungus. When I asked receptionist about shoe cleaning machine - if it works - they were unable to make it work by connecting into socket.
I am disappointed with this place. We moved to another hotel right after our reservation finished. I would suggest to hotel owners to pay more attention to the cleanliness of their property as well as motivation of their employees to pay attention to costumer's concerns.

The room is very dirty and the cleaner doesn’t want to clean even when I asked her to do so,and the window without a curtain and I asked them to install one they say they will do but every time I asked them why you didn’t do it they tell me they will do until I checked out they didn’t fixed it the receipt pretended he can’t speak English to ignore the customer

The location was so convenient to the tube station and the breakfast is also enough to start a day.
I was disappointed to see the room because the door to bathroom was broken and could not be closed (they fixed soon) and water from toilet was leaking (they did not fix).

Right on Taksim

Rooms are clean and cheap, given the area. The staff is fantastic. Everyone is very friendly and most know some English. That being said, they're really very willing to help you practice speaking Turkish. I had some great nights sitting on the porch smoking a cigarette and practising with them.

The staff make this place. Rooms are a bit small, by American standards, but they're clean and comfortable and the internet connection is (barring one day I was there) totally reliable and secured by an off-site provider. In any case, the location is great and I would highly reccomend it to a solo traveler or a couple on a budget.

Very warm and clean room. However, xxx mells of cst litter and tobacco are present.Sippery snow is not cleaned around the hotel, making it dangerous to get to the entrance of the building. Frond desk people vary from super friendly to very rude. Upon check out they refused to give me a copy of my receipt.

Near at Taksim Square

This hotel is just a few minutes walk to Taksim Square. The hotel is ok. It just that when I arrived late night the staff were sleeping at the couch and they just help me to carry my luggage when I was already at the lobby.

overall this hotel is great for tourists since everywhere is reachable from taksim square its 2 min walk from taksim however the first floor rooms are not comfortable because u can hear ppl talking and walking early the higher floors are better everything else was cosy so yeah ill visitnthe place again but not the first floor

I really enjoyed my stay at express star hotel. room was too small but good, if u want to sleep and travel all day. Its near taksim square taxi,bus stand, metro, subway is very close, 5 mintues walk. Mr.kenan at reception was very helpful regarding making a plan for my short trips.

I did not enjoy my stay at this hotel. The room was on top floor and very strong wind was coming through the door - from the corridor into the room as the windows had gaps around them. There was no hot water for a day. .... I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please do not stay at this hotel.

Great location, good rate

Lovely refurbished hotel just steps away from Taksim Square. Nice staff, good breakfast. You do have to walk up a rather steep slope to get to the Square, so it may not be a good choice for someone with mobility issues.

Where to start? First the room! Very small! 3.2x3.2 meters with a double bed and a tiny bathroom. If you are travelling with more than one bag, not a good ideaa. Second the noise! Very noisy, you can here the guests from two rooms talking even when they are not yelling. Also you can hear everything that happens on the street, even when you are at the third floor. Third, the staff! Not even the intention of delivering s good service. Is asked for a direction, they dont know and wont care finding it out for you. If you want a shuttle service to the airport they would say there is only one (Vip shuttle) that costs USD 170, when I got one 3 block away for USD 7. When i asked for a taxi at 5 am, they said there was no one willing to take us for only a few blocks to the shuttle station... I had to carry my bags outside and walk 20 meters to get a taxi on the street. No intention on helping at all. Im sorry I took Expedias suggestion for this hotel.

Although not very far from Taksim Square, it was hard to find as not many people knew where it was (not even the taxi drivers or police). Many other local hotels were charging extortionate prices due to being the high season plus a champions league match being played (the purpose of my visit) but I was charged what I considered to be a very fair price, which included (continental) breakfast.

I was terrified from the hotel reading the reviews, but what it's true;

1. excellent location, 2 min from Taksim sq. I just took the Havatas bus from Ataturk airport (10 TL) and didn't need to take a taxi.

2. Typical 3 stars hotel as in Egypt (not european standard), but so small, only 4 rooms in a floor, very small rooms (i didn't care i just wanted a clean n comfortable place to stay for the nights) would be fine for those who don't seek a great luxury.

3. only the receptionist who knows english, a bit poor english. I overcame this problem with other staff, downloading google translate offline languages( turkish & english) on my tablet, i wrote what i needed in english , it was translated n the turkish staff could read it, and did what i wanted.

4. yes, the street where the hotel is located is narrow and steep, but that's the way most of streets of Istanbul, the city is already eslablished on a hill.

5. to reach the hotel
- make the marmara hotel on your right
- turn right just after marmara
- at the end of this street you'll find Taksim star express hotel

6. the air condition worked properly
the hot water was there all day n night
the room was clean
the wifi worked
the sheets didn't have holes as what it was said in other reviews.

Finally, a good value for the rate paid, and yes i would come again.

hi everyone,the hotel is nice,close to Taksim, the heart of Istanbul, In a narrow half lighted street, but very close to a bus station. the hotel is convenient for a low budget travelers, who are looking for a place to spent night. the breakfast is horrible, the elevator is very small, the beds are 90 cm wide. one the other hand, the rooms are nice and the sheets, toilets and carpets are clean, the bathroom is very small. overall i will use it again if i visited Istanbul for a couple of days stay.

NIGHTMARE !!!!!

Its incredible how the pictures in the internet can easily fool you. First the hotel gave me adirty room with a lot of mold in theceiling of the room, stans in our cover / pillow and swab in the floor .... TERRIBLE !!!! The windows can not close totally and you can hear a lot of noise coming from the streets and sometimes a horrible sewage smell. The mattress is so small and horrible that can not sleep weel and you almost don;t have space to walk in the room because is so small ... you feel that is in a dollhouse. I really do not reccommend to stay in this hotel ... unless if you don't mind about cleaning , noisy and space. The god things is the location near to Taksim Square ... few meters only ... high speed internet and the breakfast is not s bad.... Tks

Rooms are quite small but who wants to stay in room except for sleeping when you are so near from Taksim. The best thing is location, 3 minutes walk from Taksim square and Taksim metro station. Rooms are smaller but clean. Lift is the smallest one I have ever seen and my wife feel suffocation each time we use lift (room was on 7th floor). Breakfast menu is limited but healthy. house keeping is not that good though. I will definitely stay again if Istanbul ever calls us back ;)

Asked for full size bed, got two tiny twin beds, the free wifi did not work, the phone in our room did not work, the TV in the room did not work! Beds were incredibly uncomfortable. Front desk was very unhelpful.

If you want to spend your time happily while on tour, this is not the place to stay. First thing I observed is that the rooms are very very small than what I expected seeing their photos. Next is the staff, who are as cheap as porple there and greedy for money and tips. On the top of those, you will have to pay unexpected extra charges and parking fees, everyday. Breakfast had nothing but a piece of bread. I would strongly discourage staying there.

I stayed for 1 nıght ın November. The room was adequate as I only slept there. The breakfast was adequate. The hotel staff all spoke Englısh and were very polıte and helpful. Everywhere was clean. The locatıon ıs super, very near maın drag also not far from ferry boats to Prıncess Islands, whıch I hıghly recomend.

becareful when asking the hotel for help.

I recently stayed here and asked the front desk to help get me a fixed rate taxi to get to the airport (a service they advertise for). I was very clear with which airport I wanted to go to, including showing them my ticket with the name of the airport. However, the taxi ended up taking me to the wrong airport and then charged me $150 to quickly drive me to the correct airport. I called the hotel to ask what had occurred and they were incredibly rude and told me it was my fault and that they didn’t care.
Otherwise the hotel was nothing special and needed several repairs. The sheets had holes, the phone line was dangling off the wall and the toilet had difficulty flushing. Also if I was to go back I would not stay in this area. I would stay closer to the main attractions in old city.

Lovely service and great location!

Really clean hotel and we were surprised to see how central and perfect the location is. Near Burger King in Taxim square. Amazing and very helpful staff! I have been to Istanbul before and I would say this is by far the best hotel i have stayed in. Not doubt were I will stay next time i visit the city!

Convenient location two blocks from Taksim Square. The rooms are extremely clean. Hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Usually at least one person on duty speaks English. The only issues I had were (1) the street it's located on spells like urine; (2) when you ask for tour suggestions, the choices of companies are limited; (3) the rooms have free wi-fi but they have to set up a separate account for each guest, which I had issues with every time I had to log in. Luckily there was someone on staff who could fix the problem each time.

Room and bathroom are very small, equipped with the basic facilities. Suitable for short stay.
Breakfast was quite average and the coffee very weak. The Staff of the Breakfast room was very friendly and helpful.
Only one electric socket in the room.
Very noisy at night, as is very close to a fast traffic moving road. Also the walls are non soundproof, they are like paper. Difficult to sleep, if your neighbors are erotic active.

On plus side is location within walking distance of Taksim Square. 300m away from Hotel on Taksim Square you find the Funicular which connects to the tram to the main Tourist hotspots. More conveniently on Taksim Square next to McDonalds are economical + fast Havas bus services to both major airports.
Hotel has all the basic facilities and is safe.
Downside is rooms are cramped and some not so clean. Apart from one member of staff I found a smile hard to come by.

Taksim Star Express Hotel - Near Taksim Square

Bathroom tiles extremely moldy. So moldy that it made showers uncomfortable. Beds are okay, towels are okay, but the shower and bathroom is gross. There is no business center even if the website says they have one. Communication is difficult with front desk and they do not take messages. Our tour company would call and leave pick up times for us but front desk never gave us that information. Family called one day to see how we liked the area and front desk said they could not take a message and that they would have to talk to the manager.

The website also claims a pool and laundry. Taksim Star express does not have a laundry and charge SOOO MUCH for dry cleaning.

Do not stay here.

Close to Taksim, rude staff

The hotel has a convenient location ,but the staff speak very poor English, they are very pushy about selling transfers to the airport at higher prices that need to be. You can negotiate the price with taxis standing one block away at the corner of the Marmara Hotel (35 Liras), or just cross the street and walk to the McDonalds where the shuttle service tot the airport (Havas) is available for 10 Liras. Be very careful about laundry service, I was offer the most economical price of $ 50 US dollars for a small bag of clothing, and they try to raise in Liras by arguing that the exchange changed. I had to be strong by quoting the exchange rate at the time of the agreement.

Overall good experience, nice location, I booked single room but i got a twin room so very spacious for my requirement.

If you have got a good deal, this is a good place for your budget (50-60 Euro per night). Metro is close by and so other tourist requirments, coach to airport, nightlife nearby etc....

Only that all historic places are at least 25-30 mins journey via tram and metro.

staff was good but more geared to sell you some tourist attraction tickets. They wanted to sell a map of Istanbul for 10 Lira, which was available free of charge at other places.

If you want to be near \"Times Square\" with all the activity that entails, and you don't mind the construction that must take place at night -- this is a good roomy hotel. Vardığımda otelde tatilat varmış, önceden bildirilebilirdi. Başka otellerine yönlendirdiler. Otele giriş yaptım zor bela. Neyse etkinlik için seyahat etmistim. Geceleri geri geldiğimde asansör bozuktu, bir özrür bile dilenmedi. 8 kat yukarı yürüdüm, sabahlarıda indim. Kahvaltı ortanın bi tık altı. Kalitelerini kendi düşürmüş, belki de misafir profilineen kaynaklıdır. Genelde gittiğim bu otel bu sefer beni istediğim ordanda memnun etmedi. 8 kag merdiven ayrı bir durum.

Zimmer sind schmutzig und werden kaum gereinigt. Handtücher werden nicht gewechselt. Kühlschrank ist ohne Stromanschluss und innen noch nie gereinigt worden, Essensreste und Dreck lagert darin.
Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr gut aber ansonsten nicht zu empfehlen.

Hallo Zusammen

Empfehle das Hotel niemanden fangen wir an das Hotel Stinkt nach Abwasser Kanalisation die Zimmern wurden mit Raumspray eingesprüht damit dann das im ersten Moment richen Soll.

Desweiteren Sind die Bettwäschen Feucht und dreckig Matratze voller Schimmel Badezimmer genau so Schimmel beschädigt Spiegelglas beschädigt Föhn Stromkabel beschädigt das Hotel hat keine 3 Sterne sondern -3 habe das Hotel 1 eine Woche gebucht Bekommen jedoch nach einem Tag gezuwunger weise übernachtet.

Mitarbeiter bzw der menager richtig unfreundlich versuchte Laut zu werden und zu bedrohen.
Wo er sah dass er nicht weiter kommt hatt er Sein Ton geändert.

Beschwerde Bei Expedia wurde eingereicht menager teilte mit dass das Hotel nicht uns gefallen hat und hat dabei gelogen.
Daraufhin habe Ich mich mitbeteiligt am Telefon und habe dehn Sachverhalt geschildert.

Desweiteren Internet kein Empfang.
Fernseher ohne Funktion sehr schlechter Empfang.

Im kurzen werde Rechtwege einleiten empfehle keinen das Hotel.

Bitte fernhalten und Geld sparen.

Sehr nahe an der Innenstadt und Metrostation. Hotellobby roch zwischendurch immer wieder unangenehm nach Abfluss. Zimmerreinigung war ok. Zimmer sehr klein und man hört alles was auf dem Korridor passiert. Rezeptionisten sind zwar freundlich sind aber auf einen Vorfall nicht wirklich eingegangen.

Havlu istedik gelmedi el havlusuyla aile boyu dus aldık.
Su istedik gelmedi indik resepsiyondan biz aldık.kahvaltı gercekten cok kotuydu. Hayatim boyunca yaşadığım en kötü otel deneyimiydi tavsiye etmiyorum. Ha birde ilk gün klima ve dogalgaz odamizda calismiyordu.

Otel konumu ile hem beşiktaş stadına yakın hem taksime yakın. Personel ilgili ve yardımseverdi. Odalar temiz ve rahat. Memnun kaldım.

J’ai passé une semaine dans cet hôtel Du 18au 25 octobre 2019 vraiment un bon choix l’hôtel est situé au centre de Taksim pas loin de toute les activités est surtout sur la rue İstiklal le personnel est sympa les chambres sont petites dont très calme et propre Le petit déjeuner est varié je conseil fortement cet hôtel.

it was a very dirty hotel. the location is very remote. the breakfast was terrible, the same and hard bread every day. I would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

Wasat hostel kıvamında parasını haketmiyor

Otel konum itibari ile güzel olsada otopark yok ve dar bir sokaktan geçmek zorundasınız. Banyolar restore edilmiş idare eder. Temizlik eh işte. Odadaki telefon çalışmıyor ve sakız gibiydi. Televizyon ve klima kumandası yok odalarda. Hizmet vasat emanet arkadaş baksın diye birini bırakmışlar sanki resepsiyona. Mümkünse kalmayın. Benimde mecburi ilk ve son kalışım oldu. Eminim hosteller daha iyidir tek kalalım diye mecbur kaldık.

Sadece bir gece kaldık ama gördüğüm kadarıyla temiz ve iyi bir otel. Taksim'e yakın ama pek sokak gürültüsü olmayan bir yerde. Odada her şey çok yeni olmayabilir ama temizdir.

La literie est bonne, les murs sont fins. Il n'y a pas de chauffage dans la salle de bain mais une fois l'eau chaude enclenchée ca rechauffe un peu
