We stayed here for four nights and were so happy with our stay. We started on an odd situation as Hotel.com made an error with our reservation. Hotel reception Ihab went above and beyond to accommodate our stay and more than make up for an error he wasn’t involved with. The breakfast was also great. The location allowed us to make spontaneous walks to explore the famous square.

It was a really good experience staying at this hotel. The personnel was very nice, the rooms were comfortable and the hotel was perfectly located. When we arrived, they changed our room to give us one with a view on the city, which was appreciable. Since it was our first time staying at this hotel, they also gave us free breakfast. They cleaned rooms and gave us free water bottles everyday. It might be a little noisy if you're not used to hear any noise at night, but you can still sleep well. The personnel offered many services and was always ready to help. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Who do I blame?
I was charged extra for a room with a sea view. Air conditioning in the room didn’t work and after waiting for hours to see if the room would cool down, a technician finally declared a fault with room AC. I was moved to a different room after midnight. The new room wasn’t soundproof and street noises kept waking me up. Of course the sea view was gone. When I told the manager about the extra charge for the sea view which I didn’t get he responded that all their rooms cost the same and that hotels.com charged me extra. He also said that free breakfast is included with every room but hotels.com charges its customers extra for it. This has really lowered my trust and opinion of hotels.com

The hotel in general is excellent and has a strategic location in Taksim, in addition to the staff being friendly, helpful and upscale... I also enjoyed the stay and one of the employees was generous with me and gave me an additional service for free as a tip (free breakfast throughout the stay)... Very unprofessional, dirty, right when we received the room there was a leak in the bathroom. We called to let them know they came to fix it and asked not to use bathroom for 2 hours, so I asked to move to a different room they said we can’t until tomorrow. Next day I asked they said hotel is full worse hotel ever very unclean the smell was so bad to the point u feel like vomiting. I would never visit this hotel again

No peace at the hotel
It was terribly noisy neighbours! A group of 5 people in the room connected to mine drive me up the wall! I called to hotel reception for feedback till I gave up! They were shouting, screaming, banging the wall for many hours a day! Then there’s other customers talking paving up and down the halfway at 4am! I got up, opened the door and told him to shut up!!! It’s 4am ! Go to your own room to talk!!!!!

It was an amazing stay. The best part is the Hotel’s location at Taksim square. Eventhough a few more hotels are located in this area this is the only hotel you don’t have to carry your baggage through a few stairs to the lobby as far as I could see. The second best part is the excellent service by all the staff through their effort to attend to guests’ needs promptly, something I have not seen anywhere else when I keep travelling all over Asia and Europe. Mr. Hussein, the manager at the breakfast restaurant gives personal attention and care to each and every guest which is commendable. Mr. Omar takes care of your needs with attention. The famous Istiklal street, tram, Metro and Bus stops are all at your door step! Multiple and top quality Turkish, Indian and Pakistani restaurants are within a fee metres of the hotel. I don’t think there can be better choice of Hotel in Istanbul for a tourist.

The hotel is perfectly located in Taksim with the famous Istiklal street round the corner. But the facility itself is quite disappointing. Very small rooms especially bathrooms, uncomfortable beds, lifts are old, front desk staff are helpful but not professional, quality of furniture is mediocre, guests are not allowed except if you pay a ridiculous charge. Overall, definitely not a 4-star hotel - barely a 3-star hotel.
