This was not an expensive hotel so not luxurious. However my en suite room was clean, the white sheets and towels were freshly laundered . The air conditioning worked fine, there was a safe, a fridge and a hairdryer. Had to run the hot water for a while but when it came through it was hot. The lift worked.
Taxim Square was a short walk.
A bit rough round the edges but good value for money. If I was in Istanbul again I would be happy to return.

It was looking like a one night stand place. Not clean. Shower head didnt work, air condiotener could not heat. There is a heater in the window side wall but it has not enough power to heat the room. Blanket was a too tiny.

El staff es lo mejor que tiene el hotel, son super amables y colaboradores y lo segundo es la distancia caminando a Taksim son al menos 10 min, no es un hotel de lujo pero la relacion calidad-precio es correcta, se siente un olor a cigarro, pero creo que eso es en general en toda la ciudad, tambien no hacen desayuno… recomiendo el hotel mi estadia fue muy buena.

Very small hotel with only a few rooms. In the Old Section of Istanbul close to eating. No TV Very Small Bathroom & shower is built for small people. Reception Desk guys always there and helpful. Owner there everyday and super nice. If your the Venturous type and like great price and don’t mind low end comforts it’s for you.

I'd definitely recommend Retropera Hotel. I really enjoyed my stay there. My room had everything one would need - kettle, hair dryer, tea/coffee, etc. The bathroom had complimentary shampoo and soap, which was also a very nice touch. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The hotel itself is less than a 5 minute walk to Taksim Square. I will stay here again when I visit İstanbul in the future.

This was my second stay at this hotel, this year. I like it for the sake of its location. It's convenient for buses and the metro and a short F1 trip to get to Kabataş port. Only point to note, the towels need to be replaced. They're worn and stained. Apart from that a good stay.

We got the room with the balcony, it is personally only for your use however there is no nice view, it’s just a view of other buildings next you the hotel that are hold and broken. There is a cleaner that came to clean our room 1 time in the 4 days we stayed. There is no food or room service in this hotel! They don’t provide anything but the room for you to sleep the night in however the location is in the middle of the center which was great for shopping and food

Tugba (she was claiming to be the manager) was no help at all and it is what is is and I have to deal with it. Reached out to customer service and they said they won't refund me even if I leave.

Room was clean and lady at the reception was kind. However, at the time we were trying to sleep late in the night, we heard a lady screaming and making a lot of noise inside the hotel with her friends. It was 1.30 a.m in the night and probably she was drunk. She was handled by the hotel staff after 20 to 25 mins.

Solid choice at great price
Retropera was a great stay at an unbeatable price very close to Taksim. The rooms were simple and clean and had everything that we needed to be comfortable. Front desk staff was very friendly and was willing to help in any way that they could. Our room had a fridge and air conditioning that helped a lot on a couple hot days that we had in Istanbul.
Overall, it is not anything flashy but for the price it was better than anticipated!

Geldiğimizde oda tertemizdi. Gıcır gıcır temizlik kokuyordu odada en beğendiğimiz ayrıntı temizliği, buz dolabının çalışması, saç kurutma makinesi olması, su ısıtıcısının olması , 7/24 sıcak suyun olması, gündüz vakti perdelerin çekildiği zaman karanlık olması. Oda ilk girdiğimizde soğuktu kalorifer perdenin arkasında olduğundan dolayı biz farkedemedik siz odaya ilk girdiğinizde kaloriferin derecesini 5 e alın. Onun dışında her şey çok güzeldi. harikaydı personeller çok yardımcı olmaya çalıştı beyoğlunu keşfetmek için harika bir konumda.

Una de las peores experiencias que jamás he tenido en un hotel. Estuve allí durante los días más fríos en Estambul en los últimos 15 años (según ellos mismos decían). La calefacción de mi habitación no funcionaba y hacía un frio horrible dentro de la habitación.
Ya que al parecer el problema solo era en esa habitación, pedí cambio de habitación pero no tenían disponible, así que amigablemente les pedí que me reembolsaran el dinero y me marcharía a otro hotel y todos contentos, que un problema lo puede tener cualquiera, pero para mi sorpresa me negaron al reembolso (incluso a los agentes de Hoteles.com a quienes expliqué el problema).
Entonces pedí al hotel si podían facilitarme un calefactor eléctrico pero tampoco tenían, solo me ofrecieron una manta extra.

Además el mantenimiento es deficiente y está más bien sucio, con moho negro en la ducha y el baño.

Akşam 10 gibi odaya girdiğimde kalorifer yanmıyordu, oda buz gibiydi. Resepsiyondaki görevliye bildirdim, kalorifer 20 dakika sonra ısındı. Ancak Ocak soğuğunda bütün gün yanmayan kalorifer nedeniyle oda doğru düzgün ısınmadı. İki yorganı üst işte koyarak uyumaya çalıştım. Ancak gece 1 gibi oda tekrar soğudu ve soğuktan titreyerek uyandım. Resepsiyondaki başka bir görevli basınç düşmesi olduğunu ve kaloriferin bazen yanıp bazen söndüğünü söyledi! O iki battaniyeyi 4 e katlayarak pantolon ve kazakla uyumaya çalıştım. Odanın sürekli soğumasının normal bir şeymiş gibi söylenmesi çok tuhaftı.
