The hotel’s location was good for those looking to stay near Taksim Square, but the room was relatively small and had no soundproofing. We could clearly hear people talking and their TV in the neighboring room, which significantly reduced our privacy.
As for the noise from nearby nightclubs, it was quite disturbing and lasted until the early morning hours, especially for guests staying on the first three floors like us. We were clearly informed that changing to a room on a higher floor was not possible.
On the positive side, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The cleanliness was very good, and the breakfast was good and varied.
Overall, the stay was relatively good.

Great Hotel

Wonderful Hotel at the corner of Taksim square, A must breakfast experience (rooftop) great food selection despite the vast variety of Turkish breakfast.
Only issue for me was dealing with the small bathroom awkward design , My employee nomination goes to Sardan,( Bellman) After late check out on the major Holiday night I was waiting for my time to get a taxi and get dropped off by the bus station but since the drop off location was very close distance, taxi drivers would not want to go or become available at the request of receptionist , So It was a stressful situation and having 3 suitcases and carry on as well to deal with, Sardan informed the receptionist at the desk which he was going to help me and walk with me to get to the bus station and he grabbed and wheeled two bags and another two for me to deal with, it’s not what he has done for me, it’s about how he has done it with utmost respect to my needs at the time, well done Sardan and thank you again.
And I am pretty familiar with Gonen Hotel chain. Fantastic and I will recommend this to anyone who wants to have a pleasant stay close the Taksim square.

The staff was very supportive and let me checked in at 9 AM which is very nice. During my stay, they helped me with luggage transfer and sharing with me the information about the public transportation which I found it very helpful. I highly recommend this place and I’d definitely get back to this hotel in the future.

Management and staff were amazing. Idris the manager was very kind, patient and accommodating. Others were working as a team to take care of the guests. They all deserve 5 stars.

I usually don’t like to leave a negative reviews but I had to do it this time because I myself depend on the others reviews for my selections.

Cleaning crew did not do a good job cleaning the room. They never touched sink. Left it dirty.

But the most disappointing of all was the breakfast. I have traveled many times and never seen breakfast as bad as I had there. Hard boiled eggs cut in half and were very old and dry, really looked discussing. Fruits were not washed and some were rotten. Glass milk container was broken with a dollar size hole and crack on the side.

I was feeling nauseated and couldn’t eat. We just had a cup of coffee from the machine and left.

How about noise. Could not sleep the first two nights. Our room was facing the street and was across another hotel with restaurant. Noises of moving items until 1:30 am, after that adults conversations, police car sirens and more. Lack of sleep was getting to us. I talked to the manager and he offered another room on higher level. Much nicer and yes quiet. That was our
Last night there. Idris make arrangements for our taxi pick up to airport next day. We truly appreciate his leadership and all accommodations he make for our comfort!!!!

We were flying back from Bodrum and wanted to stay one night in Istanbul before flying back home. The location of the hotel was walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. The staff was quick, efficient and allowed us a later check out due to our delayed flight.

Was very good the staff where very helpful and welcoming. We had no issues at the hotel. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting istanbul. It's close to the metro and has many nice places to eat quite close to taksim and also many shopping centres are close to the hotel. The swimming pool was also very good.

Istanbul Overnight

The Taksim Gonen is ideally located just a few minutes away from Tacksim Square and shopping district. The atmosphere was amazing, lots of shops, restaurants, street musicians etc., Unfortunately we only had a few hours there as we were making a connecting flight the following morning. The hotel arranged a car to bring us to Atatürk Airport at a cost of €20 which was perfect. I felt the bedroom was a little ‘tired’ but perfectly clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have time to explore the Spa/Swimming Pool. I will definitely return for a longer stay in the future. The journey to the airport took 30 minutes, but that was a Saturday morning. You would need to allow an hour during the week.

Stayed for just one night on 31st May. The reception area was fantastic, the staff were wonderful and fluent in English, the facilities were excellent, the restaurant for breakfast on the top floor, with fantastic views of Istanbul, was marvelous,as was the amazing buffet breakfast. This is truly a 4 star hotel, but,like most of the hotels in Istanbul, the bedroom was too small. But, I would definitely return, and I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel, especially for its location, with close proximity to great restaurants,and shops and Tacsim square.

For the price, the hotel can't be beat. Right off Taksim square in an area with lots of nice restaurants and shops. Just a quick walk to the main shopping district. The hotel has a great sauna, gym, and Turkish bath. All in all a great value and I will certainly return.

Very nice place to stay.

From the moment we arrived to the day we left, the staff was friendly, the hotel was clean and comfortable and the location was convenient. Taxi drivers pick up at Taksim Square, which is right down the street. Be sure to look at a map and roughly determine the route and distance to your destination, some drivers will drive in circles and charge you much more than they should. There are also small shops and restaurants all around the hotel.

1- The SPA staff in general needs more experience.
2- I had what they call it \" medical massage\" and charge me 200 TL, the next 2 days, I had the same massage ( general massage ) and they charge me 180 TL. I did not feel well for such treatment, 20 TL will not do anything for the hotel but it does harm its ma,e and services.

I found the hotel had good location close to Taksim, reasonable room, except was shown very small standard room, only to be charged for larger room (which was a standard room) this seemed to me a bit of hotel trick.to get extra funds.
The Gym while present in pictures seemed inaccessible partly because of hours, said 8 to 10pm, but when tried to gain entry in morning nobody around until 9.30am.
Felt intimidated in Gym full of macho looking men, had a strong boys club feel to it.
Prices for massage were unreasonable and over top.
If had a choice would not use again unless had to.

Great stay in istanbul

Was pretty worried about a 9 day stay in istanbul, but taksim gonen made all the difference. Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. Best part was the rooftop pool and bar which is quite under used but makes it all the cooler. Great views over taksim square the bosphorous and the rest of istanbul. Great hotel to stay for a few days, and at the rates charged you can't go wrong.
