Hotel was in perfect location, clean and modern. We had a few slight issues in the room like needed more hangers, fridge didn’t work but after a few requests were sorted. The girls on reception were friendly but could have done a lot more on the welcoming front it was very much “there are your keys” and then back to their phones or laptop. A little more conversation and customer service required.

Really great area to bade yourself for a stay in Dubrovnik. Babin Kuk is mainly made up of resort hotels, including the Valamar group which meant you could use the loungers on the beach at the nearby President hotel. Only shame was that the al la carte poolside restaurant didnt stay open til 9pm as stated meaning one evening we found it difficult to find somewhere to eat. Our only other option was their €32 euro buffet restaurant! Really easy to get the bus into Dubrovnik as bus stops round the corner.

We stayed early October, pools and facilities still all open. Staff were helpful and very polite. Hotel is great, everything you could want. Easy 3 min walk for bus. 5 min walk to the most beautiful views on the coast promenade. Head to the Royal hotel and walk through to the promenade from there, it is stunning and also gives you lots more options of restaurants and drinks. Sunset from anywhere on the prom is stunning.
Breakfast at the hotel was great, everything available, quality fresh foods. Same for the evening buffet, so much choice and made fresh 35 euros if it’s not included in your stay.
The poolside restaurant has seats outside and in shade, it’s open and looks very modern, menu is good for lunch and snacks, pizzas are great and also the pasta.
The room was spacious, bed comfy, good size balcony, and we loved the bathroom, very modern and a huge shower. Clean and fresh.
We booked excursions through the hotel, concierge service was informed and helpful, very easy booking and felt confident we had everything arranged. They even made us a breakfast box to take away on an early morning start. Very good service.
Indoor pool and sauna were clean and very nice. Checked out the gym but didn’t use it, equipment looked everything you could need.
We would highly recommend the hotel and would definitely return here ourselves. Thank you to all staff.

A Dream Stay in Dubrovnik – We Didn't Want to Leave!
We absolutely loved our stay at this hotel and genuinely wish we could have stayed longer. From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views—everywhere we turned was another beautiful spot we wanted to explore or simply relax in.
The amenities looked incredible, and while we didn’t have time to take full advantage of them all, what we did experience was top-notch. One of the biggest highlights? The breakfast. Hands down the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had—what a spread! Every detail was thoughtful, fresh, and delicious.
This place has a magical feel and strikes the perfect balance between luxury and comfort. We can’t wait to come back and stay longer next time!

Over, it was great. Ines at front desk was outstanding. While we waited several hours to get our room, it was insufficient, dark, no view, overlooking a parking lot and a wall. Inez worked with us to accommodate us and finally put us in a room that was what we paid for. She was absolutely amazing and accommodate us thoroughly.

The view at the pool is absolutely amazing, honestly, dont know if there is a better view in Dubrovnik.

Overall, the service is pretty high a the resort I would say.

I would give the hotel 5 stars, however, the beds and pillows are HORRIBLE and the rooms and hotel itself is getting a bit dated.

Breakfast was 4+ star as well, which was nice, however, it could use a bit more labeling.

For the price we paid, I would expect better beds & a bit better condition property.

Bathroom designed by a child. Our group had 4 rooms and all of us had issues with the showers. Water all over the floor in all our cases. Poor quality pump soap. Only one soup for shampoo and wash. Paying $400 a night, let’s not be a motel 6… Prices don’t justify the hotel nickel and diming. I understand Croatia is a hot spot now, but hotels have gotten greedy.

Had a comfortable stay here. Staff were pleasant enough but not the most friendly I have experienced at a hotel! We arrived with a half-filled shower gel and broken pump, that wasn’t topped up for the 5 days we were there.

Food options during the day were limited, we ended up at Oliva’s almost every day. We were half board and charged €14 for two peppermint teas!

Dubrovnik old town is close enough, a 10 min taxi. We just got Ubers that averaged £7/£8.

Would definitely consider paying the extra and staying at the President next time.

The pictures on Expedia are lovely, this is the reason we booked. After arrival the hotel needs a make over. The rooms and corridors are tired and bit smelly in places. The pools, restaurants are the best part to this hotel.

After a couple of days of heavy rain, there was leaks all around the hotel, with random towels placed on the floor to catch the water.

All in all not a 4 start hotel. Average 3 .
The staff did help us with some inconvenience which made our stay a little more satisfying.

Overall a bit of a mixed bag. The room itself was a bit tired, the shower aimed at the glass screen rather than straight down. No orange/fruit juice at breakfast (just those machines that give you orange or apple squash).

The gym was small but an ok range of equipment, though light on cardio machines (1 treadmill and 1 cross trainer).

It's the end of a bus line to be able to get into the next village where there were some good restaurants and takes you to the old town. But if a nightmare getting back on as they were generally full however.

Pools were good with lots of sunbeds and lovely views over the bay.

Staff on reception appalling customer service. When I arrived I paid for public parking) having first contacted the hotel directly asking for information about parking during my 2 night stay . The hotel sent an email advising me to use public parking which I duly did. I was then told by the porter that the hotel had complimentary parking for guests. I courteously raised this at check in and was advised by the member of staff to show me the email which I did. No apology was offered or reimbursement but an abrupt and curt response stating it wasn’t his problem! I secured an apology only when demanding to speak to the manager. It appears that the response was from the head office but they have no knowledge of facilities rendering the question why are they responding to guest enquiries. I am fortunate to have never encountered this from any hotel I have stayed in before in 35 years On the last day of my stay I was chased after on the assumption that I was a criminal leaving without payment ( my entire booking was pre paid on check in with no incidentals) as I decided to load up my car at 9am as my parking ticket expired at 9.35 rather than leave breakfast and then again collecting my luggage before a check out of 10am. Again no apology rendered or acceptance that the situation may have been handled more diplomatically by asking whether I was checking out . I won’t be back . The hotel has amazing views of the Adriatic with some breathtaking sunsets to be seen. It's located quite a walk from the main town but is serviced by a bus every 15 minutes with tickets available from the hotel for a low discounted price which makes the stay perfect for those that want peace but also those that want to venture into the town. Excursions can be arranged from the hotel for competitive prices and the staff are always willing to help in any way they can. Plenty of seating around the pool and great food from the pool bar/restaurant. Nearby beaches are a short walk and there are plenty of restaurants with equally amazing views just a 10/15 minute walk along the coastline. We had a late flight home and checkout was 1000 however all amenities were made available to us including the showers in the spa area including towels. We really loved our stay.

I realllly enjoyed staying at Valamar. The pool view is incredible, and it’s nearby a few mins walking to a stunning beach. Their breakfast and dinner buffet was also delicious. The rooms are pretty simple, so if you want an elevated room experience spend a little more for the pool view. I can’t wait to go back!

Hotel had been modernised throughout and has a lovely breakfast/ Restuarant and bar area overlooking the tiered infinity pools, which overlooks the beautiful sea view and surrounding islands.
The hotels external paintwork needs some attention but overall quality of rooms and bed comfort is excellent.
Was less impressed with the smell of cigarette smoke coming from the office next to our room and throughout the reception lobby area.
Bar and food prices were exceptionally pricey compared to other European destinations.
Bar staff service was disappointing, for example wishing to charge 5 Euro for a can of Sprite when requesting a drink be topped up slightly.
Bus into the old town can be caught outside the hotel and is only 12-15 mins drive.

Staff were really helpful with local knowledge. Catching the number 6 bus was so easy and made travelling into the old town convenient. Loved that we were that little bit further out from the Hussle and bussle of the old town, but had great beaches/ beach clubs and some lovely restaurants close by.
Property facilities were great, having a bigger gym would have been a personal preference.

The staff work hard to keep the hotel and its amenities clean. The breakfast buffet was fantastic. One item that was consistently disappointing was how often we were told we were unable to have umbrellas at the pool due to wind. 2 of our 4 days we were unable to have an umbrella. There is no other shade on their pool deck whatsoever, so if you’re being safe with your sun exposure, you essentially eliminate a massive and expensive amenity you have paid for. Of course the wind is not in the control of the hotel, but the umbrellas they purchase is. The connection between the umbrella and the base is only about 12-15 cm and it is not fastened in any way, so of course the wind makes it dangerous; it can just slide right off. We spent days at beaches where the wind was much greater than the hotel (we actually checked the weather app and are not just guessing) and we were fine to use umbrellas because they were fastened properly. One other frustrating aspect was that they throttle your ability to use your room’s air conditioning. The room got quite warm one day, so I asked about it and they changed the setting on the thermostat so I could set it lower. They were very helpful with this, but it was frustrating we had to ask. Overall, we had a good stay, and the staff do truly take great care to provide you with a clean and enjoyable experience, but there were a few unfortunate aspects about our stay that we don’t believe we should have encountered paying nearly 350 euros per night.

Brilliant relaxing hotel. Beautiful views from the pool areas, loungers always available. Convenient bus number 6 outside the hotel taking you direct into Lapad and also continuing onto the old town in 20-25 minutes. Lots of quiet areas within the hotel and grounds to relax and chill out. Couldn’t fault it, brilliant holiday. Fully recommend. Not for kids, stay in the sister hotel Lacroma for this.

The exterior of the hotel and all communal areas need serious investment to bring this back to a 4* hotel. There’s no sound proofing, mould on the walls near the patio doors with paint flaking off, dirty bath mats and a curtain that isn’t actually wide enough to cover the full window. Whilst the rooms have been modernised, this hotel is more akin to a 3*.

This hotel was amazing. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, the amenities were great and the views were incredible. Being able to watch the sunset over the Adriatic Sea was one of the highlight of my stay. The only problem I had was the live music. Having live music is great and I really enjoyed it at 8pm but it was every night until 11pm in the courtyard right outside my balcony, which meant I couldn’t sleep until the music was over and everyone else had called it a night. Otherwise, a brilliant stay!

Overall I would say this hotel was a perfectly acceptable place to stay, but I feel it’s overpriced for what it is.

The good:

- Multiple pools including an indoor one meant there was always space for a dip
- The cleaning staff & lobby bar staff were friendly & attentive
- The hotel grounds were well maintained
- Eco-friendly focus
- The hotel fed the stray cats in the area
- The hotel had a good range of quality cocktails

The not-so-good

- Half-board included no drinks at all, even with your meal
- Most of the grill and buffet restaurant staff seemed to resent being there
- There was a bit of a breeze one day so they didn’t allow parasols which seemed like an overreaction for the mild conditions and meant we lost a day of pool-lounging
- The evening buffet was a disappointment - lots of food but no congruency between them, and all the meats weren’t seasoned. I also had an unpleasant surprise to discover fish in the focaccia one day! Weird pairings…

Overall not a bad hotel but I think you could do probably get better for the price.

The room was nice and the pool areas are great, staff were very helpful with sorting the parking and our luggage.
However, the place needs major improvement in several areas.
The hotel restaurant is very warm and hectic, as some dishes are made on the spot, we found the heat unbearable (probably 35 degrees), didn't enjoy the dining experience and really feel for the staff who have to stand over a hot stove! The restaurant needs to be air confitioned asap for the sake of guests and employees, as well food hygiene, as there are flies everywhere, including the food!

I also didn't like the fact there was no seperate shampoo, conditioner and shower gel bootles, just a cheap 3in1 one. I unferstand the hotel attempts to \"go green\", but if you're paying £250 a night, you really shouldn't have to worry about bringing your own cosmetics.

Also, the hotel doesn't really have its own beach , you have to walk to the president hotel-this isn't a problem as such, but the beach gets very busy in the afternoon and might not be suitable for people looking for a more relaxing environment.

Cons:
- there’s a bunch of tiny ants, even after we switched rooms. The cracks in between the walls need to be filled to prevent this.
- there were spider webs in a room that was supposedly ready for guests.
- they have about 4 pools but the temp for all of them were kind of the same, they didn’t turn the heater on for any of them which was unfortunate.
- no jacuzzi

Pros:
- hotel is beautiful and pleasant experience to stay in (aside from the ants which was the main reason it didn’t get 5 stars)
- the food is decently good, the breakfast buffet was my favourite. The dinner & breakfast buffet gives you many options to choose from like vegetarian, dairy, and dairy-free options.

Coastal hotel gem

Lovely and luxurious hotel surrounded by the sounds of the sea. Helpful staff at every turn. Hotel buffet had many delicious options. While far from the city center, the bus route was easily navigable - stay here to get away from the city and enjoy the beauty of the coast!

The Valamar Argosy is the most chilled out hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable with a beautiful view and the facilities were excellent. Thank you so much!!

Booked because it was an adults only hotel. However there were small numbers of children there. Not against children but I wanted the peace and quiet which didn’t happen round the pool on some days. Other than that it was very nice. Externally the building is a bit tired the food was excellent throughout.

Hotel is located in a very beautiful and safe area. Friendly stuff. Very nice room with sea view. Gorgeous views from the pool area! Great food at the restaurant and huge breakfast buffet. Bus stop is right by the hotel and takes about 20min to get to the city.

From check-in to check-out, everything was perfect. The room was stunning—beautifully clean, with a super comfortable bed. The down pillows made it feel like we were sleeping on clouds. We had a lovely balcony looking at the sea.

Both breakfast and dinner were exceptional (the Half Board option is definitely worth it). The dining area had the ambiance of a high-end restaurant, and the variety of food was impressive, catering to all tastes.

The entire property exudes luxury. It’s spotless wherever you go, and the outdoor views are breathtaking, especially at sunset. The outdoor pools are fantastic, and there’s also a spacious indoor pool.

Just a short walk through a lovely park, you'll find restaurants, bars, and shops. Plus, there’s a bus stop right outside with convenient access to the old town.

The locals are wonderful—there’s a laid-back atmosphere, and they don’t pressure you in the restaurants. The 3-island tour is an absolute must-do.

I fell in love with Dubrovnik and its people. We've stayed in many places over the years, but this is now our number one!

Resort hotel close to 2 beaches, that had public and private areas. Nice pools! Better to take an Uber than walk to the old town, because it’s a bit far, but a fantastic place overall with an amazing view at sunset!
