This hotel is beautiful, I highly recommend it. We were on the 8th floor with wonderful views of the sea and islands. We took Ubers into old town for touring, yet there is also a bus that comes to the hotel that is an option. Walkable to a nearby promenade filled with restaurants, a little uphill on the way back for less than half a mile. The breakfast was great, many options in the buffet. We went in late October and missed the crowds, which we liked. Glad we chose to stay here.

What a wonderful stay! The view from our room was amazing! They upgraded our room which was awesome! The restaurant was delicious! Easy to take the bus to the old City, right by the hotel entrance. You can even but your city pass at the hotel. The staff was incredible as well. Perfect 10/10!

The breakfast was top notch. The best feature is the pool area that leads to ocean. You can just sit and watch the sunset…which is what we did. It felt like you were on a cruise ship.

The room was nice and clean with a balcony with same view as the pool. In fact this felt like any good hotel in the US with all the amenities. But the breakfast, balcony and pool take it to the next level.

The one drawback is the proximity to city center. There are convenient ways to get there via taxi, Uber or Bus. But definitely not walkable. I am not counting this as a negative as long as you know this beforehand.

I would highly recommend this hotel. In fact, my cousin is already planning to comeback to Dubrovnik and this hotel.

Beautiful hotel in a fantastic location. The views of the sea from every bedroom, restaurant, swimming pool and bar were breathtaking. The staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly. Breakfast was incredible - so much choice and delicious. The 10 minute bus ride from right outside the hotel to the old town every 15 minutes was perfect. We had such a glorious time. ❤️

Love this hotel its closest enough to old town where you can hop on a bus right out front for 1.75 euro and be there in 5 minutes but far enough away where you have privacy. The swimming area in the adriatic is fantastic and so is the spa. Also love the breakfast its so good and the views from the hotel are amazing not to mention the sunset. The rooms are really nice, spacious clean and have every amentity. Would highly reccomend staying here

Very nice property and great rooms. Air-conditioning blows ice cold. The staff are very friendly. Breakfast is just average. The lunch and dinner are very delicious and have lots of fresh fish and seafood. Highly recommend the restaurant next to the pool. Bartenders can make all sorts of drinks and the prices are reasonable for Europe. Staff at the front desk went above and beyond as did the bellman.

Stunning hotel. Views are outstanding. Only ate at the lanyern restaurant which was really nice. Drinks on the pricey side but it is to be expected. Bus number 4 straight into the old town every 15 minutes. Paddle tennis courts, pools, diving centre - loads to do.

Absolutely beautiful location. Stunning views and beach. Even in peak season there were plenty of sunbeds and and there was direct access into the sea for swimming Easy walk into lapad centre where there are lots of bars and restaurants with a good range of cuisine. Entertainment was limited. It would be nice if they had a bbq night with music but there was only a pianist . I would definitely stay at the hotel again .

It looks nice in the photo but I would not stay at this hotel again. It seems like a god hotel for families. Items in my room were dirty. Twice I ate in the restaurants and there was hair on my placemats both times. The food was not good. It states it has a spa but I don't don't believe it was spa. It does have beautiful views.

lighting of room is below expectation. shower in the bath tube is a life risk specially for the elderly. drain of water and foam in the bath tube is horrible. there is no place in the bath room to hang a hand towel.there is not a suitable place to dry up washed underware. women have difficulty to do make up. gluten free bread is bad. hot cafe latte takes too long at breakfast. room is clean and staff try to help.

The Palace Hotel, Lapad, Dubrovnik.

A lovely peaceful hotel with everything you could possibly want. Really lovely staff, good food, particularly the breakfast which was great, good rooms (go for the higher floors if you can) with comfy beds and sublime views ... lovely pools and you can jump straight into the Adriatic. Also, I got this stay for a really keen price through hotels.com. There are some beautiful walks to do, particularly from Lapad beach up the Promenade which is breathtaking and has some beautiful restaurants too. The Old City is also absolutely beautiful. We went to some lovely restaurants there, one called Rudger which was a truly beautiful place with great views and delicious food and also Proto just off the main drag which was excellent but not cheap. Back in Lapad, try Levanat for good food and a stunning setting.

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel minus a few issues. When we first turned up, they tried to check us into an inferior room we didn’t order but we resolved that in the first hour. Not a great start but we moved rooms. Room was noisy every night which negatively impacted sleep due to other guests stomping around for hours, slamming doors etc. but cleaners were great and everything was clean every day.

Staff were great, breakfast buffet was average along with restaurant food but fresh, sea was beautiful. Plenty of beds and towels at beach which was great.

Hotel guests were not the classiest at times but overall, great experience. Beautiful location.

The location of the hotel is superb and the team attitude is second to none.
Also, getting to the old town takes only 10 minutes from a very, very close bus stop.

Amazing sunset views from the room balcony. Quiet, relaxed atmosphere away from overcrowded Old Town but very easy to get to and from on bus line 4 that stops directly in front of the hotel.
One of the best hotel stays, will be back!

PSA: buy the Dubrovnik pass that includes city wall and museum entry as well as local bus travel. 1, 3 or 7 day pass for £40, £50 or £60. It’s very good value for money, the buses are regular and so easy to use.

I like the fact there were many options for food. There were restaurants within the hotel and outside by the pool. I also had a nice updated room with a great view. It was very quiet during the evenings and end at nights. I especially like the fact I can use the indoor pool or the outdoor pool depending on the weather. Everything was nice and clean.

One of the best and most relaxing vacations we have had as a family. Stayed for 9 days with adult children and made Dubrovnik Palace Hotel the base of our operations, easily accessing the Old Town and the port and going on multiple trips. Hotel is just excellent with great breakfast, outstanding and very welcoming staff, beautiful views from every room, inviting lobby. Our favorite though was the beach; even though it is a rocky beach typical for Croatia it felt like just an amazing place to relax and unwind. As soon as we left Dubrovnik all of us wanted to come back.

We booked 3 rooms in December for this hotel, looking at pool amenities available. When we got to the hotel we were told that they had given our rooms away, we checked in at 4pm, and there was nothing they could do but put us in a different hotel.
We were told it was an upgrade and despite looking it up and telling them that it absolute wasn’t they would not honor our booking.
Having no choice we went to the other hotel, the pool area had zero amenities, was full of dirty towels. We had to get our own loungers, umbrellas, and it took over an hour to get any drinks as there was very limited service.
We were offered dinner in the hotel but we didn’t travel to Dubrovnik to eat in the hotel.
All together a serious lack of respect from the Dubrovnik Palace. This was not the experience we expected or paid for. They should be ashamed of their behavior but they seriously just didn’t care.

The property is well kept . Its location is pretty close to the ocean promenade with many dining options . In addition the bus to the old city stopes in front of the hotel and only takes like about 20 minutes to pila gate and runs from early in the morning to late at night for 2.5 euro per person

The hotel is at the top end of the bay with lovely views out over the sea and along the coast. It’s around 15 minutes from the Lapad town centre where there are a nice selection of restaurants and bars (caution - it’s at the top of a moderate hill so not for those that struggle with walking).

Old town Dubrovnik is a 15 minute (cheap - around €9 each way) taxi ride and very much worth a visit.

Don’t be fooled by the star rating - there’s nothing 5 star about it. It’s perfectly pleasant but missing the nicer touches you would expect from a higher tier property.

My wife and I stayed at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel for our anniversary — our third time visiting Croatia and our second time returning to this hotel, eight years after our first stay. From check-in to checkout, everything exceeded our expectations.

The entire team — from the front desk and housekeeping to the restaurant staff — were exceptional. We’ve stayed in many five-star hotels, but this one stands out. There’s a genuine warmth and down-to-earth humour here that you rarely find elsewhere, and it made all the difference.

A special thank you to the General Manager, Hrvoje, who went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Your kindness and attention to detail truly elevated our trip — we’re so grateful.

Not five star and very poor air conditioning

The so called air conditioning in the room remained fairly constantly at 24 to 24.5 degrees. It was 30 or over outside at the time of our stay. The first person who was sent to fix it said it was working properly by waving a probe right by the ceiling vent and then left. We had a deluxe sea view room, perhaps in a smaller room the system may cope better.

The second person confirmed that the system was working but you can only get 3 degrees below a certain temperature. He suggested we keep the curtains shut and leave the system on constantly. It was uncomfortably hot at night. It felt like we were staying in a cave with the black out blinds shut in the vain hope it might get cooler. We could not appreciate what is a lovely view or use the balcony.

Rather than trying to give us another room we were sent a bottle of prosecco and a letter saying the system would be fixed. It never was.

Its not five star on a lot of levels from the cheap fixtures in the room, the buffet breakfast that was plentiful but not great on quality to the general feel of the place. It's tired, old lifts, the windows in the restaurant looked dirty and the plants outside the restaurant looked half dead. Its like a very busy four star conference hotel. The staff are generally curteous, but some on the front desk were quite abrupt and sadly ineffectual in helping. The location is good and the view beautiful if you can enjoy it, but I wish I had stayed somewhere else.

Fantastic views and well maintained hotel to the north of the old town. Convenient access to bus into the old town which runs until late. Nice pool and direct access into sea. Plenty of sun loungers. Rooms were quite narrow with limited space for large cases. Breakfasts were disappointing compared to other 5* hotels I’ve stayed in across Europe. Whilst we didn’t eat on evening, the food looked equally disappointing.

Absolutely loved our stay at the Dubrovnik Palace Hotel. It was the perfect place to escape the crowds in the old city of Dubrovnik and to enjoy the beauty of the Adriatic Sea. We particularly loved all the different areas for sunbathing (or in our case sitting under and umbrella) and for swimming. The staff were all so friendly and welcoming and the hotel itself lovely and relaxing. I even got a birthday cake delivered to our room on my actual birthday! So thoughtful! And the city bus picks you up right outside the hotel, so it's super easy to get into the old town. We'd definitely stay here again if we ever return.

The people were very nice, and the location on the water, plus the pool area were all great. We booked a sea view room but there were 3 large trees blocking our view! So ask for unobstructed view specifically.

Also, the decor felt very “cruise ship” and the breakfast was pretty bad - cold coffee, bland food, and I saw people stocking pastries with their bare hands. If you’re used to upscale hotels, this will fall short.

Beautiful property with gorgeous sea views from the rooms. Comfortable and clean rooms. Staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. Uber was there in 2 minutes when needed.

My main comment about the Dubrovnik Palace is the Staff. They are so friendly and cannot do enough to assist you. The location is also perfect overlooking the beautiful Adriatic Sea and the hotel oozes serenity and calmness as soon as you enter the reception area.

That old saying ‘You get what you pay for’ is certainly true here. Paid for balcony room and it was worth it. Wonderful indoor and outside pool. Inside with jacuzzis. Easy parking at the hotel and no need to take car into city centre. Just catch the number 4 bus literally outside the hotel which is the first and last stop. 2.5 euro. Reception is on the 8th floor, beach 1. Highly recommended. Only slight negative, not enough coffee, tea and milk sachets in room.

The property itself is gorgeous and the accommodations were above and beyond what we expected. Everyone was friendly and helpful if needed. The location was a little far from Old Town if thats your primary interest BUT there is a bus that leaves the front of the hotel every 15 minutes, the public transporation was very easy to use. Very resort feeling with easy accessibility to the hustle bustle of the Old Town. Also, their daily breakfast was phenomenal.
