I think this is a great resort for families with kids. Food is very good, arrangements for kids are great , drinking options also great. The staff is friendly and tries to entertain you. If you are a swimmer or like quietness, this is not the resort for you. It is in general a noisy place. Swimming was practically denied for me though the pool was there. Regardless of the time of the day you would try to use the pool, because of the operation hours, is practically impossible. The ocean view from the balcony of the hotel room was great though...

We had an amazing stay! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome. Every employee greeted us with a smile, made eye contact, and genuinely seemed happy to help. That level of friendliness really made our vacation special.

The buffet servers were outstanding. They were always attentive, making sure our drinks were refilled and checking to see if we needed anything. Their excellent service made every meal enjoyable.

The pool staff was fantastic as well. They were friendly, helpful, and kept the pool area fun and well organized.

The entertainment team was one of the highlights of our trip! They put on wonderful shows every night and kept guests engaged with fun activities throughout the day. There was always something exciting to do.

we had a wonderful experience and would highly recommend this hotel. The exceptional staff and outstanding service made our vacation truly memorable. We can't wait to come back!

Great hotel and amenities. Very clean resort and rooms. Staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent service in all areas. Wide variety of delicious foods at buffet and restaurants. Entertainment crew was awesome with different activities during day and shows at night. Multiple pools including waterslides as well as kids pools were also very nice and happy to see lots of chairs by pools and on beach.

We enjoyed our stay. The check-in process was a bit chaotic and slow. However, the front desk staff were very friendly. The resort was family friendly. The shows were a lot of fun. Overall, the food was good. The buffet had a lot of variety. We enjoyed our meals at the Italian restaurant and steakhouse. The food at the sports bar could have been better. The coffee bar was excellent. The bartistas were friendly and were able to make whatever you would like to drink. The white sandbeach was nice, but rocky as you got deeper. The gym had adequate equipment. There was a tour company on site, and they were helpful at getting us transportation. The resort was rather far from the airport.

Overall, we had a good experience at this hotel. The property is not very large, which made it easy to get around. The beach was conveniently close, and the pools were enjoyable for both adults and children. There is also a dedicated kids’ area, which was a great feature for families.
The staff experience was mixed. Some employees were friendly and very helpful, while others seemed uninterested in assisting guests.
Making reservations at the specialty restaurants was challenging, but the buffet consistently offered a good variety of tasty food. The bars were conveniently located throughout the resort and served a wide selection of drinks and cocktails.
I would recommend this hotel, especially for families traveling with children.

Took the staff about an hour to get to my room to remove this monster. But Than I requested shower to be bleached and that was completed quickly. The room I had was actually really nice

Riu Aquarelle was amazing! Staff were helpful and friendly.

Food was 8/10. Buffet food was great for breakfast, lunch and dinner. And the view of the beach from the buffet was spectacular. Kyoto and the steak house were the best restaurants.

Alcoholic Drinks seemed to be really watered down but all the bartenders were great!

Would definitely visit again.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Service was impeccable, always there to get you a drink. All the bartender's are awesome, so many great ones. Shout out to Britney, Derwayne, Miguel - I’m missing so many more! Entertainment team is great and so talented! Michael Jackson and Silver Birds shows are must sees!! Kitty Kat, Miguel, Lily, Munga, TiTi, love you all!! Food was great- Pepe’s jerk chicken, patties and Steakhouse are stand outs!! The spa was also excellent. Only small complaint was that I was missing towels after room was cleaned. They were sent, but we did have to wait a little. Lastly, no ATM on site which was disappointing because I ran out of cash and wanted to tip everyone more so their awesome service.

Very disappointing experience.

The cleanliness of the room was unacceptable. We found hair, false eyelashes, and even the bed sheets appeared dirty, giving the impression that they had not been properly changed. The overall hygiene standards were far below what is expected from a hotel of this category.

In addition, the service was poor and unprofessional, and the cost of the stay did not reflect the quality provided.

For the price charged, I expected much better. Overall, a very disappointing experience that I would not recommend. ⭐☆☆☆☆ (1/5)

I would not recommend this hotel. We booked a room that was supposed to have a king-size bed, but when we arrived, we were given two twin beds instead. The beds were extremely uncomfortable, and to make matters worse, the A/C in the room wasn’t working. Thankfully, there was a lamp with a fan attached to it because the room was unbearably hot.

The customer service was one of the worst parts of our stay. Many of the servers were rude and disrespectful, even when we tipped them. They made us feel unwelcome throughout the trip. At the buffet, I had a towel over my shoulders and the staff approached me in a very rude manner demanding that I remove it.

The food was also disappointing. We tried the Italian restaurant, and the food was cold, lacked flavor, and was honestly not enjoyable. Room service was even worse. There was very little variety on the menu, and it took nearly two hours just to receive a simple sandwich.

Overall, this hotel was a huge disappointment and definitely not worth the money. Between the uncomfortable room, poor service, and bad food, I would not stay here again.

Our stay at the Riu Palace Aquarelle was enjoyable overall, but there were a few areas that could be improved. The rooms were clean, the food was decent, and the staff was generally friendly and accommodating. One recurring issue was room service. We attempted to order room service on three separate occasions, and unfortunately, it never arrived. Housekeeping also consistently forgot to replenish washcloths, requiring us to call for replacements each time our room was serviced. The entertainment offerings felt somewhat limited, and communication about resort activities could be much better. Events such as bingo, daily shows, and other scheduled activities were not well advertised, so we often didn’t know they were happening until after the fact. Additionally, the area surrounding the resort may be surprising to some travelers, as the approach to the property is not particularly appealing. However, once inside the resort, the grounds felt safe, well-maintained, and relaxing. Overall, we had a good stay, but addressing these service and communication issues would greatly enhance the guest experience.

Went for a girls trip from 6/4-6/9 and had a great time!! The rooms were clean and spacious with a nice large bathroom with double sinks and an amazing mirror!! The shower has a nice rain head and handheld shower head. We did have 1 day that we had only warm water, it didn't get hot but they let us know in advance. The staff were great, very friendly and welcoming!! The entertainment team was amazing!! From the pool parties to the shows at night and all the times in between they kept the energy up!! The bar staff kept the drinks in your hands in a timely fashion!. The pools were great, plenty of chairs available we never felt the need to rush and grab a spot. For being a family resort I didnt really notice the kids or were bothered by them. Food was very good at the a la carte restaurants, we didn't have any issues with reservations. The buffet was standard, tons of choices for breakfast. The only downside to the resort was the location and views surrounding it. A lot of construction sites and run down homes directly infront and to the side of the hotel. They have the neon party and white party but you have to travel off site to another Riu resort. Would definitely try another Riu resort in the future... already looking at Aruba!!

We traveled as a family of 3 with a toddler age 2. Overall, we enjoyed the all inclusive amenities offered at this facility. I felt there is something to keep my toddler occupied everyday -big shoutout to the kiddie water park. The food is fantastic at the buffet and the Sport Bar (24/7) and the drinks at all the bar are equally amazing. Since the resort is newer, the rooms are new and up to date with decors/furnitures.
There are few things that could have made the experience 5/5. First. As an interracial couple, beware you will get all kind of looks especially disgust from staff as well as fellow vacationer. Typically, I don't let these stuff get to me but when it's majority of the people you encountered give you the same look, things become uncomfortable. However, there are equally the same amount of people who are beyond great and we appreciate their kindness and friendliness. If you plan to book a la carte date night, not all the restaurant are equal and we were very disappointed at Kyoto. However, the steak house made up for it. We enjoyed the pools that allowed children and like that there are multiple pools dedicated for adults. Riu is very family oriented so if you want peace, I would suggest adult only. Our Oceanview room was beautiful. Big shout out to our housekeeper, Aliyah, for making the room extra special each day! Shoutout to Annalee and Kodi in the buffet. We're not a big all inclusive, but this visit might change our minds.

Riu Aquarelle has an amazing team! During my recent visit with my family, we all had a wonderful time. Every hotel staff member we encountered was friendly, welcoming, and a joy to interact with throughout our stay.

The entertainment was phenomena!!!! From the Michael Jackson Show to the History of Jamaica Show, the Rock and Roll Show, and the fun poolside activities. There was always something exciting to enjoy, and every member of our family found something they loved.

A special thank you to Tiffani at breakfast, Munga, and the entire entertainment team for creating such a memorable experience. Your energy, professionalism, and dedication truly made our stay unforgettable.

The only suggestion I would make is to improve the lighting in the 6th-floor hallway and ensure that the floors in that area are cleaned more regularly. I understand that many guests come and go throughout the day, but better maintenance of that hallway would be helpful.

Overall, our family thoroughly enjoyed the trip and would love to return in the future.

Fantastic entertainment team and good food. Staff were mostly helpful, the hotel was clean, and there were always plenty of sun loungers available. The water slides are great and the buffet was excellent, especially at breakfast. No problem getting reservations at the other restaurants- steak house is great others are average. The beach is nice, although we found it even better if you walk a few minutes away from the hotel. Unfortunately, I can’t give 5 stars because of some of the day pass and weekend guests. Large groups would arrive and be extremely loud and disruptive, with shouting, screaming, twerking and excessive drunken behaviour around the pool areas. On one occasion, a guest was sick in the pool, resulting in its closure. On a separate occasion, another intoxicated guest had to be taken away from the pool area in a wheelchair. This was particularly noticeable at weekends and did affect the atmosphere. We missed the foam party because the pool had to be closed after someone was sick in it. Our flight was delayed by an hour, but the transfer provider would not adjust our return transfer time. This left us with the choice of arriving at the airport around five hours early or paying $70 for a taxi. Be careful with your wristband- I was initially charged $250 when mine was lost, although this was later waived after I complained. Overall, there is a lot to like about the hotel, but the weekend atmosphere and transfer issue prevented this from being a 5-star experience.

If you’re looking for a resort with AMAZING entertainment and family vibes, this is it!! The entertainment staff truly made this trip unforgettable. They stay fully engaged with both adults and kids the entire time, and the energy around the resort never dies!

Parents… Riuland SAVES LIVES. Use it and actually enjoy your vacation!! Huge shoutout to Ms. Naynay — she entertained my kids the entire trip and they absolutely adored her. She deserves a raise ASAP! Also shoutout to Rooster who was SUPER entertaining, full of nonstop energy, and constantly engaging with everyone around the resort. By the end of the trip my kids were literally crowing like a rooster everywhere we went 😂

Every staff member we encountered was kind and helpful. Even housekeeping was amazing. I accidentally had the DND sign on the door, but when I opened and asked for towels, she brought them immediately and even took my trash so the room wouldn’t start smelling funky. Small gesture, but it meant a lot.

Overall the vibes, entertainment, and hospitality were top tier. 1000/10 experience and we would definitely come back!

The hotel was beautiful. Unfortunately, the staff wasn’t too friendly or helpful with accommodations. They weren’t able to get us into the steakhouse for our last night on the resort. The food wasn’t good, eggshells in the omelettes and hair in the buffet trays. We weren’t notified to coordinate transportation home the day after we arrived. We ended up having to pay for a taxi. Bartenders were amazing and rooms were fairly clean. There was a bug in the bathroom and some hair on my bed comforter one day. Excursions were far. The closest one was an hour away. Private transfer was great. They took us wherever we wanted to go.

Nothing wrong with it, but expectations were never exceeded. The largest negative was that you have to rely on the buffet for most meals and the food was OK to not great in the buffet. Following that - the elevator situation was a constant problem. Too slow and too small. A few members of the staff were great, but many acted like you were putting them out. The housekeeping staff seemed to be the best part. The beach was nice and plenty of chairs were available, but once you got in the water it was rocky and full of seaweed. Overall we had a pretty good time, but wouldn’t return to the RUI brand if this is their premier offering

We have never done an all inclusive resort before and this was great. We are drinkers but if you were this is your place although we didn’t have to deal with drinks either. It was amazing. The rooms are very nice and large. I’m a clean freak and it was very clean everywhere. The staff is amazing you’ll become friends with everyone very quick. The Capuchino bar in the lobby is the hidden secret. Amazing ladies. The staff is ver attentive from exercise classes to pool activities and shows at night. Highly recommend the buffet and the Steak House. We are now hooked and will be visiting other Riu properties. My last great vacay was at the Lotte in NYC for a weekend so that is my standard. Take a lot of small bill cash for tips and sunscreen. You don’t want to buy it there. Take the stretch classes with Spark. Totally worth it and necessary. Laying by the pool and standing at the pool bar is all you will be doing. The beach is perfection with lounge chairs, umbrellas and palm trees for shade. Take the trip. You won’t regret it!!!!

I really enjoyed my stay! Overall the property and staff were very nice. The entertainment was excellent. I did not like that wash clothes were not provided in the rooms. It took two days of verbal requests to find out you have to request them through the app. The distance from other popular excursions and attractions is the only draw back.

O quarto é péssimo. Eles vendem que são duas double beds, porém não passam de duas camas de “viúva”, ou seja, duas camas de solteiro grande. Solicitei para vários funcionários um quarto q realmente tivesse duas camas de casal e nada foi feito. Aliás os supervisors da recepção foram MUITO GROSSEIROS. Um total descaso. Estávamos em dois adultos e duas crianças, dormimos super mal, super apertados. Houve dias em que o quarto não foi limpo. Colchão velho, mole, com buracos. Barulho absurdo dia e noite de móveis arrastando no andar de cima, provavelmente era um depósito do hotel. Barulho bem alto tbm dos shows todas as noites, até uma da manhã, não há uma vedação adequada, ou seja, os vidros da varanda não são grossos. O ÚNICO ponto positivo é que mesmo que você não tenha agendado, é fácil conseguir uma mesa nos restaurantes de especialidades para jantar, porém a comida não é lá essas coisas. Resumindo, eu já havia ficado em Cancún na rede Riu e não tinha achado nada demais, preço muito alto comparado ao que entrega. Depois dessa estadia no Riu da Jamaica onde ficamos MUITO mal instalados, vendem que o quarto tem duas camas de casal, quando não tem, NUNCA MAIS me hospedarei em um hotel da rede Riu.

It was a very nice place. Room was cleaned every day! Kid friendly location and lots of activities for kids and adults everyday. 3 different pools plus a kiddie pool and slides area. Beach was very clean and a short walk from the hotel( accessible). Staff was very friendly. Food was not that great. Almost same or very similar menu every day. Drinks was very good and lots of options.

I stayed for three nights. The food was great, was seeing mixed reviews but enjoyed the different restaurants. Compared to other Riu a couple things are different like the Riu party isn’t a pool party. The pools do close @6. So next time definitely will be making sure what I’m booking they have a pool for longer periods of time. Other than that the staff was amazing and they kept the property very clean.

Welcoming team was excellent, Natasha was incredibly informative. The resort is kid-friendly (includes kids entertainment shows) and food accessibility is excellent. I personally want to give credits where it's due, food is available in almost every corner of the resort, so drink responsibly :). Shout out to the Buffet Team for their punctuality, good mood, good vibe, effectiveness and my bestie Adrian 💕
The restaurants are worth trying (my favorite being: Krital, French as the fish was beautifully cooked. My husband had an irk with Kyoto as the chicken satae was unseasoned :(. We also enjoyed Napoli and the Steak House, our boy particularly loved it for the service entrance 😀).
Nb: make sure to book the restaurants ahead of time as unlike the buffets, it is NOT a walk-in situation.
Make sure to checkout the spa, it's cute, the service is incredibly fast and efficient. I was taken care by Nadia and she was very professional and patient with me.
The views and the beach are definitely a 5/5.
Overall, a very pleasant stay!
I will recommend.
