We loved everything …., there was sooooo much to do there and the food well there were so many options even for restricted diets .The pool was amazing ,beach access , gym etc . The room was amazing , even when I decided to upgrade to swim out the process was seamless . Customer service was 10/10 . The cafe gave me my latte fix everyday lol ..The drinks … well let’s just say if you love to indulge on any level they got you . The food station by the pool kept our stomachs full while we stayed out by the pool and beach .We travelled as a couple this time but We will re visit with our kids next time .So much to do there .we absolutely loved it . Thank you Riu Aquarelle .

The 12th floor had water issues. Twice during shower I had to finish using water from the sink. This happened 3 times in 4 days. Explained issue to front desk 3 times. Maintenance says pump keeps shutting down

RIU Aquarelle is a newer property. Everything is super clean. Service and staff is super. Entertainment is excellent. They are also close to Montego Bay airport around 45 min. Couldn’t have been more happier with our choice. They catered and delivered on everything that a fun family vacation should and could be.

Small resort but very clean. The staff was excellent. 5 star quality service. There is one real pool the rest where the typical adult splash pools. But, that’s all everyone does anyway. The ocean gets real rocky the farther out you go so be cautious. The food was meh.. Sorry. Usually, that’s the best part of a Jamaica trip. Overall 4.5/5.

Just returned from an unforgettable stay at RIU Aquarelle Montego Bay, Jamaica, and I’m still in awe! The resort is absolutely beautiful from the modern design to the stunning beachfront views, every detail felt like pure luxury.

What truly stood out was the exceptional customer service. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and taken care of it really made the experience feel personalized and special.

There was never a dull moment! From entertainment and activities to relaxing by the pool or beach, there was so much for us to do every single day. And the food? Beyond words. Every night was a new culinary experience delicious, flavorful, and beautifully presented.

If you’re looking for a place that delivers on beauty, service, fun, and amazing dining, this is it. Already planning my return!

We had a wonderful time at this resort. Everything was clean, and you could always see staff cleaning around the resort. The food was delicious and refilled quickly. Staff was friendly and quick. We have two little ones, so we spent most of our time at the kids pool or the beach. They also loved the kids show at night. Our room was very quiet, and we got a crib for our 12-month old.

Nice place to stay, hotel is clean and most staff are great to work with, however, the entertainment schedule is really a headache for us: it last over 11 pm and really loud music, we have to wait until it completely stopped to go to sleep. Hotel does not have its owe shuttle to/from airport, and taxi is $70 plus tip, it is even more expansive then in US capital

I was excited but my excitement turned into disappointment almost immediately after arriving. Staff were kinda “so-so” with their attitude, not friendly, not rude. Just kinda “THERE”. They had more excitement for other travelers so maybe it was just me. Anyway, I asked a staff member at the ice cream bar on 4/28 between 9pm and 10pm if she could point me to the grapenut ice cream, and she just pointed in the direction, didn’t say a word. So I asked again. In the rudest fashion she removed the entire tub from the freezer of the ice cream and just sat it there on the counter. Still didn’t say a word. My daughter said she gave her the same attitude. There was mold in the shower at the bottom of the glass as well as mold growing on the over head shower. Volleyball was fun. The entertainers were great. Staff- NO 0/10. Cleanliness in the room for a 5 star resort?? NO. 0/10. Right outside of the property there is mounds of trash, potholes, sitting water with mosquitos. Do better.

This place was fantastic! My whole family REALLY loved the entertainment! All day, every day there were engaging staff all around providing activities for adults and kids alike. The nightly shows were incredible - I don't know how they do it!

First time in Jamaica and it has exceeded our expectations. We’ve stayed at Riu resorts in other locations before and Riu Aquarelle is definitely up to Riu standard.
The staff was great, food buffet had nice choices including a great fresh juice bar in the morning. We tried Napoli-Italian restaurant and really liked it. The steakhouse was ok, good filet mignon but the sides were lacking. Carrots were too sweet, fries are not my choice with steak and creamed spinach was not the greatest either.
The beach is beautiful, plenty of umbrellas and shade. Great entertainment team, kids club and activities for adults.
Would certainly come back to this property.

We had a wonderful time at this resort. We definitely would be back. The food, people, entertainment and beach in the area were great. I’ve been to Jamaica 5 times now, and the experience at this hotel was the best so far. The only suggestion is to add a mattress pad on top of the mattress for support and improved comfort.

Property is nice. The setting is rough. The view of the property directly in front of the building is very rough. The back of the hotel is ocean facing and much nicer.

The staff was hit or miss. Generally friendly but not consistent. The bathroom light was broken upon check in and I called the front desk immediately. I was told that a maintenance person would come immediately but no one ever did.

Housekeeping is very slow and our rooms were cleaned very late in the day right before dinner

We had a great time at Riu Aquarelle. The property is relatively new and has everything you need for a relaxing vacation: truly attentive staff, beautiful beach, pools for everyone, great and varied food, nighttime shows, fun games everywhere - and no time share pitch (thank you!)
Of course, the island is still rebuilding but you could not tell from just the hotel.
The only 3 things of note for other families:
- the hotel IS kid friendly, but it's also heavy on partying. It can get loud in the afternoon and at night with parties well past bedtime.
- the evening shows are hit or miss and start a bit late for kids. There was a fabulous ballet/accro show in the pool that was not advertised anywhere so we found it by chance.
- I didn't fully understand whether room cleaning was daily but if you put the tag on your door, they do come.
Overall, highly recommend this hotel and a big thank you to everyone who works there: they're truly friendly, kind and super attentive. Plus they have great songs all the time!

When I arrived the system was down therefore the room keys did not work and the staff had to let the visitors in and out of the rooms.
I was given a room that was dirty.
My phone broke the same day of arrival and I was unable to make reservations for the restaurants on the resort in which was very upsetting because I wanted to do something special for My Son’s Birthday! The staff would not make an exception!
MOST of the female staff workers inside of the restaurants were very rude and made me uncomfortable to even want to ask for anything. I thought my reservation included the Beach view and a tub. I could hardly see the beach from my side and was given a shower only with 2 small children.
The food selection was not that great. Overall, I would give this stay a 4/10!

The resort is in the middle of the slums. Broke down cars, houses and trash everywhere. The check in was ok. Had to sign a lot of waivers. The rooms were old fashion and just ugly. The beds didn’t have any blankets, only sheets. There was no small towels in the room. You had to request them. Room service was weird. They had a small menu and didn’t provide drinks. You had to call housekeeping for drinks. The staff here are amazing! They all seemed like they were walking on eggshells though. The views were nice in the back of the resort. The front looked like a 3rd world country. There is no atm on the property. Had to drive about 20 mins to another town to a bank with walk up atm. I stood in the line for over 30 mins. The food at the resort was amazing. Entertainment was great. The drinks had to be made with the smallest amount of alcohol, because I’m a light weight and never got a buzz even after 3 drinks. It was weird seeing the employees be searched after clocking out. They were checking to see if they stole anything. I was informed they search them upon arrival as well for drugs. The tour driver we had was very nice but we booked a ride to see dolphins about 25 mins away in Montego Bay, but the driver took us to the location that was 1.5 mins away in Ochos rios. Wasted hours in the car. Will never come back here.

Pool towel arrangement is annoying and elevators were super slow. Not impressed by the rooms and the tiny beds. Overall not a good stay and will not be back

The Riu Aquarelle is a nice resort. The pools were nice and clean but very loud!!

The drinks were just ok !
The biggest problem was our room smelled musty.
The shower was dirty and the floors were dirty, I think they need to clean better!!
The buffet was pretty good and had alot of choices.
The Ala cart restaurant reservation system is not good!!

This was an incredible vacation! The resort is brand new, the staff are kind and professional, and the food was great. We would definitely return. The entertainment team brings their all and there is always something going on. We travelled with our 5 and 8 year old kids and they were always entertained between the pool, the activities, and the splash pad. They were not quite ready for the water slides, but I saw a lot of 10 year olds and up going on them. The beach is not the best in the Caribbean, but it did what it needed to - super soft sand and lots of loungers available. We spent the majority of our time at the pools. The only thing lacking for amenities was there was no jacuzzi, I am sure they have one in the spa, but no jacuzzi in main pool area. Overall, it was an awesome trip and if you are considering going, book it!
