Beautiful grounds: The resort layout is clean.
Pristine beach: The beach is wonderful and free of seaweed.
Great activities: The pools, lazy river, and daily app-tracked activities are excellent.
Fast check-in: The midday arrival process was quick.

Cons:
Outdated rooms: Accommodations need remodeling, showing cleanliness issues like stray hairs and cockroaches.
Subpar dining: The buffet is repetitive and lukewarm, while à la carte restaurants have long waits and low quality.
Restrictive drinks: Premium spirits and light beers cost extra at the bars, and pool cocktails are poorly made.
Inconsistent service: Good service and friendliness require heavy daily tipping.
Aggressive sales: Staff aggressively push daily timeshare presentations.

The property was beautiful, and the staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we had questions. A special thank you to Obrian at the front desk for his excellent service. The entertainment was great, especially the Motown night, which was one of the highlights of our stay. The food was good overall. We ate only at the buffet, which offered a decent variety of options. However, some items would occasionally run out, and guests had to wait for them to be replenished. It wasn’t a major issue, as there were usually other choices available. One area that could use improvement is beverage service, as I often had to get up and find someone to refill my water. The beach was absolutely wonderful. My aunt and I spent most days there from 10:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Enjoying the beautiful water and relaxing atmosphere. Overall, we had a great time.

Our experience was in sharp contrast to the majority of positive reviews. The hotel was tired and dated with serious maintenance and deep cleaning needed. There were cockroaches in bathroom and feral cats wandering the halls. Guest services were rude and unhelpful, the staff in the restaurants were friendly but incompetent. Not sure what training they receive, as they made racially and culturally inappropriate comments. We got locked and bolted onto our balcony by the house keeper, when we were banging on the patio door to be let back in, she just laughed at us. Reported the incident to front desk, no action taken. There was constant noise from building work, we understand hurricane Melissa hit hard but don't re-open your property if repairs aren't complete. Food was ok, as the remainder of the resort geared towards North American clientele. Hotel staff were worse than hawkers on the beach, always trying to sell something. Don't recommend and wouldn't return.

The property was clean. The room bathroom door would not latch so it never closed. The room from the bathroom area to the bedroom did not close. It only went 3/4 of the way. We were not too concerned as we only spent a little time in the room. Our 2nd room there was no safety latch. Pool area was clean and nice. General buffet area was always clean, nice, lots of variety of food and the staff here were the best. The rest of the service especially in all the bars was super poor. It seemed like it was a chore to be at work. No acknowledgment of your presence, whether you tip or not. The game staff were good too.

We recently stayed at Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites and overall had a good experience. The location was convenient, the room was clean and well maintained, and the pool area was also very clean and enjoyable throughout the stay. Staff were friendly and the resort itself was kept in good condition.

The main downside for us was the food. There were decent options, but after a few days it felt pretty repetitive and we were hoping for a bit more variety.

The beach was also smaller than expected. Going in, I had pictured a larger beachfront area, so that was a bit disappointing.

Overall, it’s a good resort and we enjoyed our stay. That said, I’m not sure I would return specifically to this part of Jamaica as I think I’d try another area next time.

As a mom traveling with young children, I really wish I had read a review like this.
This trip was far more stressful than relaxing because of the service, lack of attentiveness, and overall experience with kids. Jamaica they don’t worry about nothing.. things move slowly, food options open late, and when we arrived there was almost nowhere open to eat. We ordered room service and it took nearly 3 hours and that’s the norm.
The biggest issue was the attitude from many employees. Staff often seemed annoyed or bothered, requests were forgotten, and things we ordered frequently never came. As a mom traveling with little kids, I hoped to feel cared for at least a little, but instead felt like we were inconveniencing people by asking for basics.
There were also several concerns for families:
- Pool floors are extremely slippery
- Large step in the room that felt unsafe for little kids
- High chairs often unavailable
- Baby items advertised were “not available”
Housekeeping often felt more like rearranging items than actual cleaning.
Beach vendors were very persistent and approached children directly selling items, including drugs. Some continued with sad stories after being told no. One vendor had profanity painted on his boat.
The food was underwhelming, staff called the room during naps/bedtime, and the coffee shop constantly ran out of basics.
Positives: the ocean view was beautiful, and the kid-sized buffet/play area at check-in was thoughtful

Our stay at Iberostar Selection Rose Hall Suites was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, everything was spotless, well-maintained, and beautifully presented. You can tell the staff takes real pride in keeping the entire resort incredibly clean and welcoming.

What truly made the experience special, though, was the level of respect and hospitality we received. Every team member we encountered was kind, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our stay enjoyable.

A very special shoutout to Victor Montel — he went above and beyond in every interaction. His professionalism, positive attitude, and attention to detail did not go unnoticed. He truly elevated our experience and is a big reason we’ll be coming back.

I have nothing negative to say at all. Absolutely amazing! The food was good, there is frequent activities throughout the day and night shows appropriate for kids, no reservations needed for restaurants, plenty of chair availability at the pool. Everything was clean. The staff are so pleasant and engaging. Ruth with activities does a fantastic job, shonyae our concierge was awesome and so helpful. April was an awesome time for this resort we absolutely loved everything. Highly recommend a private driver to go to Duns waterfalls, excellent experience and safe trip.

The highlight was the staff hands down. The layout of the room was great, although the decor could’ve been a bit more aesthetically.

The food at the buffet was decent. The okra was perfect every time though. The triangle hash browns at breakfast were delicious. Sole Mio was a great Italian restaurant. Quaint, intimate, good food. A great date night option. I love that it was small inside.

Great magic show. Great pool foam party (drinks did the job!). The DJ played good music at the club BUT the crowd was not plentiful.

It’s definitely more for families and to those who want to chill and relax as opposed to those who want to party BUT we got good info on where to party off the resort and had a great driver and a good time.

Overall 9/10 experience.

The property was in great shape considering the hurricane that hit the island in October 2025. There were a few areas of maintenance going on but otherwise the property looked great! The food was only average. Some staff were so so nice while others were just meh. They tried to do the sales pitch for a time share and tell you it was mandatory. They said it was mandatory to see the transportation services desk the day after we arrived but that was just to try and sell tours and excursions. I read horror stories from other Iberostar properties so thankfully the sales pressure here was not as bad. It still overshadowed the whole experience though.

I cannot thank the staff enough for the incredible service that they gave my family, especially the staff in the Miranda Hall Buffet! We were there celebrating our babies 1st birthday and the entire staff was extremely accommodating and showed so much love to our little Marlee. Our baby had a great time every time we came to the buffet to eat. Everyone there loved Marlee and on our last night, the supervisor/manager allowed the staff to make a small cake for our baby and the experience we had with them singing happy birthday was absolutely amazing. We thank each and everyone one of them from the bottom of our hearts. We will forever recommend this resort and the Miranda Hall Team. Thank you!

When we arrived our room wasn’t quite ready yet but we were able to change into bathing suits and go to the pool. The pool area was large maybe needed more chairs but there were many activities going on throughout the day. It was very windy which without the sun was a little chilly at times. We ate at all of the restaurants and the food was very good. It was first come first serve so we arrived when they opened and we got right in. We went on a free shuttle to a shopping area. Not many stores, so it wasn’t really worth the trip. There was a lot of seaweed on the beach, but the hotel did a very good job of clearing it out as best as they could. There were people selling items on the beach but they did not approach the guests. They kept their distance and if you wanted something, you went to them. The staff asked us upon arrival to come receive our package (which I think was to look at timeshare) but we never went and they never bothered us to go look. Overall we had a very nice time.

Food inconsistent, ranges from a “B” to an “A minus.” When we were there the property was at 100% capacity, which created real problems finding a beach chair. Same with the restaurants. If you weren’t in line by 5:45 your seating could not occur for nearly two hours. Could be due to staff shortages due to the hurricane.

The rooms are at most 3.5 stars and the service is hit and miss. If you could book the Joia Ibrostar property it is noticeable better ! It is a 4.5 star.

The Jamaican people are wonderful and all the staff are super kind and wonderful.

Our first room, you could not see any of the beach in the concierge told us it was a ocean view, but you had to look very hard so they finally moved us and put us in a room with a view that we had to look to the left to see the ocean. Unfortunately, the elevators were having major issues and people were getting stuck.

The room was good size with the balcony. There is the small fridge with mini bar inside the room. Because of limited availability, some drinks were not replenish whole stay even when we asked. There was a limited ocean view from the room. The room was cleaned daily.
The pool is good size and very clean. Bars at the pool and in the lobby always had some ingredients for drinks missing. Staff in the hotel is excellent.
If you like the Caribbean Sea with nice and clean waters this hotel not for you. Bottom of the sea is completely covered with sea grass so you can not swim and enjoy the waters.
The Greek and Aunt Ruby restaurant were good. Buffet was average.
Average Hotel should have 3.5 stars.

Beautiful grounds & common spaces Lovely lazy river and main pool with fun swim up bar. Wonderful bartenders & pool/beach servers with a special shout out to Jamie who really stood out. Daytime pool entertainment was great(if you choose). Ocean front suite was spacious with great views. Had a few issues like a troublesome shower door. Also had outlets fail a few times but Maintenance was prompt. Food & service at Buffet for breakfast/lunch was best food experience during stay but usually had a 10 minute wait, Had a nice lobster at Rubys but the steak was bad. Went back a 2nd time for the lobster- seating there open to the outdoors was very nice. The Greek spot was the nicest venue but food was meh. The Italian was the only place we ran into grumpy staff all week & the food was bad. The coffee shop near check-in was outstanding. Great specialty coffees /teas with tasty finger foods available all day. There's a limited room service menu but service was quick and friendly -found a decent small pizza which was handy most nights later on as the al la carte restaurants limit food orders to a 3 course menu(no extras dishes). Nice spacious beach with comfy lounge chairs and good drink service. Water shoes helpful for swimming. Overall good experience within a short distance to airport

We had a little one (5 yrs old) with us and was really hesitant about putting him in StarCamp so that he could meet the other little kids, but it turned out to be the best decision! The security was great, He never wanted to leave the camp, and bawled his little eyes out when we had to leave.
