We truly enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt Zilara, although we cut it a day short due to Hurricane Melissa. This was my first trip to Jamaica. The staff was friendly and customer-centric and the views of the beach and ocean were beautiful! Only dined at the buffett for breakfast and lunch (Choicez) but breakfast was soooo good. The Italian restaurant was our favorite specialty restaurant and our server, Ashonie I think his name was, gave five-star service! He was the sweetest and fulfilled every request with the brightest smile on his face. There was even a point where I got dehydrated (drink plenty of water if partaking in the incessant flow of alcohol!) and a nurse gave me some tea and offered suggestions of what to eat to help replenish my fluids. I was back to my happy self again within two hours! I’m keeping everyone at Hyatt and all of Jamaica in my prayers as they embark on this road to recovery. I will DEFINITELY visit again in the future since I had such a great time!

My spouse and I stayed at Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall in Montego Bay from October 23 – November 2, 2025. What was supposed to be a four-day getaway turned into eleven days when Hurricane Melissa became a Category 5 storm and grounded all flights.

Even through the worst of it, the staff and management were outstanding. The General Manager Adrian and team provided clear updates, kept guests calm, and restored Wi-Fi within 24 hours and water within 48–72 hours. Despite the storm, they continued serving hot Jamaican meals, drinks, and even nightly entertainment to keep spirits high.

Employees such as Callela, Unique, Seanah, and Ro showed incredible kindness and professionalism—always smiling, even while worrying about their own families. Once airports reopened, the hotel arranged safe transportation to Kingston so guests could catch emergency flights home.

I can’t say enough about the leadership, compassion, and resilience of this team. They turned a terrifying experience into one I’ll never forget for all the right reasons.
If you’re visiting Jamaica, Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall should be your first choice. 🇯🇲💚

I have so many positive things I can say about this place and the staff. The staff has been so incredible during this tough time in Jamaica. Taking care of me and being away from their families. I’m really appreciative of everyone here doing their best after a category 5 hurricane. I said I wouldn’t come back to Jamaica ever again but I will definitely be back at the Hyatt zilara in a few years. I hope Jamaica can rebuild and citizens can get back to their lives soon. I’m sad for this island but the hospitality from everyone is top tier.

First room shower handle kept falling off. First night was great entertainment at the “club”. My son woke up next day with some bites on his back. Thought mosquitos got to him. This day we had booked an excursion through the vendors they offer at the hotel. More bites the next day down the side of his back and legs. I reported it to the hotel and they changed our room. They also gave him medicine, Benadryl and a steroid.

We paid for the Adult side but most restaurants are on family friend side. Food was blah. They don’t switch out or stir to keep food looking fresh. Ice machine was broke on our floor. Rooms took to long to get cleaned. Restaurants and bars to spaced out felt like I was on a marathon. Gym was very nice.

The hotel it self and common areas like pool and beach areas and restaurants were great but the room its self and hallways leading to rooms were dirty. Rug in hallways looked like it needed to be cleaned badly. My room which was a swim up room smelled musty. There was hair in the shower, the chairs in room were stained. I was greatly disappointed in the cleanliness and presentation of the room. As for the remainder of the hotel it was beautiful. The service is great. Everyone is very kind. Food and drinks also very good. I am not sure i would return to this resort due to cleanliness of it.

This visit was so very important for my husband and I as it doubled as a surprise Birthday trip and our anniversary getaway. And the staff didn’t miss a beat. They were kind, discreet with each surprise planned and extremely on point not to mention super hospitable. And the rooms surpassed all expectations especially when it came to cleanliness. The food at each restaurant was amazing. The drinks kept flowing and the lounge at night was an excellent place to vibe at or turn up. Also get the spa experience it is a true experience Tenisha has healing hands. Hands down one of our best resort experiences. My husband isn’t a fan of repeat trips, but he expressed more than once that he wants to come to the Hyatt Zilara Montego Bay AGAIN. So that says a lot about our experience.

Let me start by saying that the resort itself is beautiful and has wonderful potential. However, my recent stay was unfortunately filled with several serious issues that caused major inconvenience and concern for my safety.
First, there was a ceiling leak directly over my bed, followed by finding roaches in my room. I then had to repack and move all my belongings, only to discover that the new room assigned to me had no functioning air conditioning. On top of that, there was flooding throughout in our building, forcing guest and myself to use the stairs. During this time, I slipped on the wet stairs and almost fell, which was very alarming and unsafe. Because of all these issues, I had to cancel my excursion not once but twice. Despite these repeated problems, I was assured by management that I would be refunded for the two affected days. However, I have still not received any confirmation email or refund as promised. I am requesting an immediate update and prompt processing of the refund. Given the level of inconvenience and safety risks involved, I believe this is a fair and necessary resolution. Please confirm when I can expect to receive the refund.

This is one of the nicer resorts in MoBay. Lots of swimming and eating options. Very large and spread out. The room was nice and several of the staff were very good, but some were not friendly or helpful. The adult-only and family properties are joined so the adult-only was not completely separate. I would not want to come in high season as I think it would be too many people - it was crowded enough in the off-season. All that said, we would go back - didn't get to take advantage of the water sport activities.

Cons: I disagree with the 5-star rating. While the rooms are acceptable, they are extremely humid, and there was a strange smell coming from the AC vents. Additionally, the hallway carpets are filthy, showing clear signs that they haven't been replaced in quite some time. The food options were decent, but at every restaurant we visited, they were almost always out of something or missing ingredients.

I also noticed that room service trays were left outside doors; for instance, a guest next to me left their tray out at night, and it was still there in the morning. While this may not be a concern for everyone, to me, it's a red flag—potentially indicating a roach problem. Lastly, the hallways leading to the rooms have an odd smell, and the lighting is quite dim.

Pros: resort's outdoor areas are beautiful, and I spent most of my time there. I loved the beach, the pool, the swim-up bar, and the entertainment. The staff provided excellent service, showcasing great Jamaican hospitality. The spa is outstanding as well. I had a massage overlooking the beach, and it was amazing. The spa facilities are very clean, and the staff there is incredibly friendly.
To sum it up, I would definitely stay here again. Personally, when I'm on vacation, I only use my hotel room for sleeping. However, if you prefer spending more time in your room or plan to stay for an extended period, I would not recommend it. For me, the beauty of the resort's outdoor spaces outweighed any drawbacks I noticed..

I heard so many wonderful things about this resort but must admit I was somewhat disappointed in our room. It was a but dated yo say the least. Honestly I would have expected and would have liked a more modernized room considering we selected a swim out room. Another thing we were not use were the cost of food items in the restaurant whereas every other place we have traveled was definitely ALL INCLUSIVE. One of our days there we were not greeted with a server for breakfast so that too was disappointing. I will honestly say that another those hiccups were disappointing, this doesn’t deter us from visiting again prayerfully with at least the accommodation of a modern room. The food was delicious and as stated in many reviews. Shoutout to Nesha in Urban Eatz and Chaze our poolside server and another bartender (something McCoy) we called him the REAL MCCOY. Their level of service was definitely top tier

Not enough daily or nightly entertainment. Until the resort fixes this, they will be light years behind other resorts. For the price, I expected better. Buffets were good, restaurants were not. Very dull at night. Very small lobby where people just sit and listen to piano or music. No excitement. All restaurants on family side except 1. It makes sense you get access to the other side, if you didn’t you wouldn’t have anywhere to eat honestly.

I absolutely loved it, I came here for my boyfriend’s birthday it was a surprise, he also loved it, staff is very friendly and nice. The only thing I did not liked was I don’t feel like there’s much going on, it is very quiet which is nice but if you want a bit more fun or nightlife they don’t have. It was such a pleasure staying here with our family and other relatives. We had the most amazing servers and other staff. At dinner we had Atasha and Sandra, on the beach we had Renaldo as our Cabana Butler, at Calypzo Sharlene and Shantel and Trisanne were spectacular. At the front desk, Kimberly was just awesome. Duty Manager Paul was super helpful and accommodating. We will surely return to this property and are truly appreciative of everything and everyone that made this trip memorable.

I’m not happy with the property my daughter was supposed to come with me, bust she was electrocute by lighting through her working computer, her job is the location where the incident took place, she couldn’t join me on the trip and she didn’t come on the resort. When ask for an emergency refund I was denied. This place has a lot of visitors throughout the years and they couldn’t refund my daughter who battling healing out of work in the process. My whole family come there every year but I will make sure we never choice this establishment that don’t care about their customers.

I was very disappointed with this property. I have been to many all inclusive resorts and this was by far the worst one. Would not recommend to anyone. What is advertised online is not even remotely close to the condition of this resort. It is severely outdated. Rooms are dark and depressing, not nearly as many bars and restaurants as they claim to have, and the female workers are very rude. The food is stale and not great. Only one or two good places to eat. Will never be coming back.

The Ziva/Zilara is an amazing property with beautiful beaches, stunning pools, and lush greenery. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the grounds are kept spotless. There are plenty of dining options, but unfortunately, the flavors felt muted, clearly catering to certain palates. We tried both reserved and buffet dining, and while the food was decent, it took away from the overall experience. That said, the staff went above and beyond especially since we were celebrating an anniversary and made sure the occasion felt truly special.

Staff was great, room sub par cushions stained on couch, slightly musty smelling which is strange since the common hallways and bathrooms all have scent dispensers pumping a nice floral scent into the area why not the rooms? Outlet cover in bathroom not secure, carpets in hallways are very worn dirty and stained also the Limestone walkways and pool decks are dangerous saw numerous people slip and fall most in shoes….Swim up room was next to walkway to building zero privacy, cigarette butts in planter, rooms are very noisy not comfortable.. Beach was so so and the pools were clean and clear the entire week didn’t use swim up pool to our room once due to privacy waste of an upgrade since there was zero privacy…
Overall the Resort shows a lot of wear and tear rooms definitely need to be updated….I would not stay at the Hyatt Zilara again will book with a more modern resort next year…

Beautiful facilities and some fantastic employees. The ladies at the spa were wonderful, Tyare our server at Di Roza and Chantel at Calypzo were fantastic and very hospitable. Other than that, I’m not saying the employees were rude but as someone whose been to Jamaica numerous time, the hospitality you look for in a high end inclusive resort wasn’t there. In a 5 day and 4 night stay,
Not once did a server by the beach and pool ask if we needed anything and the one we called over one day avoided eye contact and continued to service others. In addition, some of the wait staff at bars and restaurants were very noncholant and too many times ran out of things. Like why does the island vibes pool run out of mango by 3pm everyday? Just stock more in the morning. The Ziva side certainly has the better and more hospitable staff but we stood on the Zilara end. Little things go a long way, like robes, bubbles for the tub.. we had a swim up room and oftentimes had to ensure we had the things we needed to enjoy, including getting out the water (pools don’t connect) to be able to get drinks, but others certainly had workers coming over to them. It left more to be desired despite me really loving the facilities and some of the workers.
