The two pools are nice, the staff are friendly & helpful, and I like having a balcony. Breakfast (stew fish and an omelet) was delicious!

This property is NOT on the beach—you can walk a couple of blocks to get to a tiny sliver of beach. We started walking to Doctors Cave and were accosted by so many people on the first stretch of the busy road that we decided not to go and returned to the property.

The beds were comfy and the AC worked, but there were issues with our room. The water didn’t get hot—maybe room temperature at the warmest. A colony of ants came out almost immediately to enjoy food we had out. Thankfully we had a fridge to hide what we didn’t throw out. (I was told fridges only come in the deluxe rooms.) Someone came to spray and the ants went away.
They must’ve had issues with theft—we paid a deposit for pool towels ($20) and also for the 3 remotes/incidentals when we checked in. They give you the remotes in a bag with your room key and you return them when you check out.
I would stay here again the night before flying out, but am glad we had other accommodations the rest of our visit.

Just depend of the unit they put you in. Nightmare beginning. TV didn't work. Floor was rough and discolored. Not like the first time I had the deluxe suite. However I'm going to give them grace I think they were fully booked. Tutor credit they did correct the problem with the TV and always the staff is accommodating.

The name for this place is very misleading.
This is nowhere close to being a resort!
Its more like a motel.
Place is old and jaded. Rooms have very basic items: no lotion, shower gel conditioner,coffee maker etc.
You had to return the TV remotes to the front desk. Very strange
Our room was next to the busy street so very noisy.
No blackout curtains so you cant sleep in
Basically you get what you pay for.
Not my choice next time Mobay.

This hotel is a backpackers in the shape of a resort. We knew this going into it and it served us exactly what we expected once we were in the correct room. We were given a standard room in error the first night and once we bought it to the hotel’s attention the following morning we were quickly moved and offered a free breakfast for the error which we appreciated. The breakfast was pretty good, I can understand why they get decent reviews for food. The deluxe room was much better and somewhere I was comfortable -ish enough sleeping (with knowing what I had chosen to book expecting a backpackers). The standard room wasn’t good - we both got bitten by bed bugs on the queen bed, the shower was unusable, the floor was dirty and hairs (not ours) were found on towels, bedsides etc the tv didn’t connect, the room was under an exterior sensor light that would turn on constantly throughout the night with see through curtains (for light). We had a room facing the road which was very noisy - not just due to traffic noise but music blaring from their cars and horns going at anytime of night. The pool had water in it and we saw a few people enjoying it. It’s extremely close to the airport, taxi’s (along with most things here) are very expensive though. 5 mins or 15 mins = $20 USD.

Great place to stay on budget - close by beaches and downtown clubs - everything is walking distance. Bring towels, they only give you one a day, buy a big bottle of water for your room because there’s nothing on site. They also charge you $2 delivery food and tip if you wanna order anything to the room.

This is a wonderful place to stay with easy access to the airport. The staff are friendly and efficient, the room was clean and felt very safe. Two clean pools and the grounds are well kept and clean. Great little restaurant with a variety of affordable options, including vegetarian and traditional Jamaican dishes.

We wanted to try this and save a little money since our flight was due in late. Read reviews and opted to do one night ant Toby’s and head to our all inclusive the next morning early.
While the room was clean and the staff we met nice. The location and community accessibility put our safety into question. It did have a privacy wall surrounding the hotel, but the police were very active all through the night driving past our room with lights and sirens.
Overall I will choose to spend the extra at San Souci for the peace of mind next time.

The room was comfortable and had everything we needed including fast wi-fi. It is centrally located and we felt safe there. The front desk staff was not very friendly and we often felt uncomfortable when interacting with them. There is a small beach that cost $8 and is a five minute walk away and the airport is super close. Not bad for a few night stay.

We love staying at Toby’s. It is literally 5 mins from the airport so we stay there for 1 or 2 nights before heading off somewhere else. The staff are so nice, the property is clean and very well taken care of. Restaurant is very good as well.

The staff is amazing and super sweet. My daughter and I had breakfast and dinner at Toby’s and enjoyed our meals. The pool area is always busy and everyone is having a great time. I felt safe and had no complaints. The AC was super cold and everything in the room worked well.

Great place to stay, & great location. Staff is friendly and so welcoming. Rooms are very clean and comfortable!
Big up to my new friend PET, she was a wonderful waitress at the resort and made me the best iced coffee!!
The only suggestion I would make for this resort is to make sure all rooms have a fridge & microwave. Other than that, it’s wonderful!!

We stayed for 1 night here. The front desk staff was absolutely incredible! They did everything to accommodate my family's stay and we so much appreciated it.
The room we stayed in was comfortable and it was perfect for our group. The location is such a winner. We were able to visit the Hip Strip and do some shopping and sight seeing and were minites from the airport so we never had to rush. My husband ordered food from the restaurant at the hotel and it was delicious. Will definitely visit again soon.

We stayed here after our flight was cancelled after a snow storm in the north east (USA) . We ended up being stranded in MoBay for 3 nights longer and Tobys was a great place. Very clean, cold ac, clean rooms, clean property, pool and restaurant. Also basically located on the hip strip. Security at the front gate at night was also nice and appreciated. Everything was pretty perfect to be honest. Would stay here again for a night before or after a flight. Not for an entire trip.

Toby’s is in the perfect location! Its about a 5-10 min drive from the Airport and right at the end of the Montego Bay Hip Strip. You have access to public beaches like Fletchers and private beaches like Doctors Cave) unlimited food options, shoppings, the BEST nightlife (Pier 1, Margaritaville, Taboo, Casino, 27/27) and more. The Staff is exceptional!!! Im Jamaican born in America and literally stayed in most hotel options in the area and Toby’s staff is #1. They aren’t being kind for tips, they genuinely interested in you and your stay. They make you feel like family. I traveled with my mom and my two year old who ran the entire property numerous times a day. Even the guest felt like family. Once you past the front hall you’re in “Community Toby”. They deserve so much recognition. From front desk staff to security to the servers, bartenders, cleaners everyone. Thank you for an amazing few days. With all that being said.. OWNERS DO BETTER! This place has so much potential but EXTREMELY outdated. The rooms do not come with a irons, one room has a full and twin bed, the pool area is still in the 1980s. Hotels can esthetically pleasing and still provide the comfortable low key vibe that I believe “Community Toby” looks for. Cleaning was a bit of an issue as well. I don’t want to say much on that but do better! Overall, Toby’s feels like home. I like to stick to the rivers and waterfalls that Im use to so Ill definitely be back!

I cannot express how much I love Toby’s! The staff and location are unbeatable! Rooms are average but clean and the bed was comfy, equipped with working AC/mini fridge, we even got to watch Netflix! We also loved hanging out on the balcony.

The whole place is painter in the cutest color, and there is even a mural for photo ops! There is a wonderful restaurant with great prices, two pools, (one right next to the restaurant to enjoy breakfast or lunch) there’s a bar by the pool with the nicest most accommodating bartenders (shoutout to Orlando!!) and the women at the front desk are absolutely the kindest souls. Saved us from being scammed to pay $150 more for a taxi to Negril than we should have! Bless those folks!
Also the walk to the bars (Margaritaville and Pier 1 on the beach) is less than 5 min! The beach at Docs beach club is perfect for everyday beach and fun or just stay at the pools in the resort and have a blast! Can also walk east toward sunset beach but there is a bit of damage that way right now from the hurricane (but this is why we go to support the locals!) Everyone in Jamaica is so kind, and fun! They love life there & now we do too!
Def would come back again! I already miss it!

One of my pillow cases were dirty. (This happened twice). The shower knob had issues once but it ended up working. The fire stick was not for if you didn’t have your own account. I was able to watch from whoever previous accounts were on there; however if it exceeded the limit of who was watching I couldn’t watch a show. No local tv stations which was unfortunate; not even the news. No free Netflix or anything so would not be able to enjoy tv. No microwave or complementary bottled water (even just two bottles for the whole stay would have been nice). The pool was dirty, I didn’t see any filters and there was always a constant film on top of the water so I never got in. No body wash and we didn’t get more hand soap until the day prior to leaving.

My stay at Toby’s Resort was good overall. The staff were friendly and responsive, and I had no issues during my stay.

However, at checkout I was asked to return additional key cards that I was never given. I received only one key at check-in, so being questioned about extra keys was frustrating and unnecessary.

Management should ensure accurate communication at check-in to avoid putting guests in uncomfortable situations at checkout.

It was a nice resort the food was a 10/10. i only didn’t like the Alfredo it was sweet. The food is no more than 20$. The only problem I had was the house cleaning staff tried to steal my wood I left on the balcony in the ashtray. She said she threw it away. I asked can she look for it or can you give me the bag to look. She came back with the wood which was not dirty or looked like it was in the trash. So I recommend not leaving anything out.

At check-in staff was courteous and welcoming. At checkout the staff was almost dismissive, didn’t ask me how my stay was, never invited me to come again. Room was ok…had some ants crawling around the kettle and coffee pot. The location to the airport is excellent and a short walk to the beach. The grounds are well kept and renovations were happening in some areas. I had a nice breakfast at the restaurant on site and the server was excellent.

The bedside lights could not be turned off from the bed. The room was a bit worn generally.
But as it was only for one night on my way to other parts it was good after a long flight. Reception Staff were great in the morning.
