Thing I remember having to ask for was more towels other than that the ac worked loved and I enjoyed the patio area too. I also loved that the pool was open 24hrs. I definitely would come back here! Budget friends

The property was very outdated! The staff at the front desk were very rude and not helpful at all. This is my first international trip and luckily I only stayed here one night because this was a bad experience. The food was amazing! The drinks were good and strong!

This was the best stay. Every staff member we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and well taken care of. I was travelling with my daughter with special needs with special food requirements and the staff in the restaurant were so amazing and so accommodating. Well done Toby's Resort.

The room i booked gave me a smoking option which I choose and when I arrived they said its non smoking ...also the room I booked looked great in the photos lots of storage space ....the room I was given WAS. In Mobay around the airport, dining in restaurant is an easy choice. Parking is tight but doable. Friendly staff and amply staffed kitchen to produce food for enjoyment.Astute servers. Nice fans for cross breeze. Maybe make a smoother process at checkout?

This tiny resort is near the airport. The staff are very helpful and polite. However, the property is not properly maintained and looks rundown. We stayed in a deluxe room that needed a good overall cleaning. The sliding doors to the balcony were very difficult to open. We had trouble getting into our safe and when we asked for help, no one came so we locked our valuables in our suitcase for the duration that we were there.

The main advantage is that it’s only a few minutes from the airport. It’s cheap and cheerful, making it suitable for an overnight stay rather than a holiday destination, as there’s not much to do nearby. Shops are just around the corner, and the hotel is located close to the sea.

The property is in need of significant updating. I mainly use it for a one-night stay when my flight arrives late, and meals are not included, so you’ll need to buy your own food.

I’ve stayed at this hotel twice and will continue to use it because of its convenience. However, the pictures are somewhat deceiving and make the hotel appear better than it actually is.

So, we've stayed at Toby's several times, and they have an efficient check-in process where you get a small clear bag with your AC remote, TV remote, room keys, and Wifi password (and then you pack it all back in the bag when you leave your room to check-out). I like knowing the batteries are working, and I can control the AC upon arrival!

I enjoy staying at Toby's, because it is close to the airport (MBJ), offers parking, and has a restaurant, which makes for an easier trip. (This was a holiday weekend, so it was a bit noisier down at the ocean than on previous stays, but it sounded like everyone was having a good time.)

I noticed a couple of maintenance items in my room, like a lamp not working and the shower shampoo dispenser was out, so I mentioned these to the front desk at checkout. They appreciate hearing how they can make the room better for the next guest.

The restaurant has delicious curry chicken, pepper steak, curry goat, and more options, so even if you don't stay here, do come for lunch or dinner!

We have stayed at Toby's several times, and each time we get a different room location so a different view! (Sometimes it's the various garden areas or the pool; sometimes we're on the ground floor or the second floor. Note: Stairs only, no elevators.)

Toby's restaurant serves breakfast (American and Jamaican), lunch, and dinner. It is air conditioned, which is nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

i can tell you that the location is great! The guy who is the cab driver for the hotel he is great too and I found him reliable and trustworthy when we booked him to go to a few places.

The hotel itself is not for me at all. I read the reviews before booking and others seem to like here but it is not for me and I would never return. I'm just not used to staying in motels. If I'm honest their website pics of the place look so nice and new but it didn't meet reality but maybe its just the room we had and maybe they will get around to making it all nice, clean and new one day.

The staff seem cool but I will say they are very forgetful or purposefully forgetful/don't communicate because we would make a request I.e there's ants all over the bathroom toilet and bath and they would say they would send someone but never did. We went and told them our room phone didn't work and since we paid for a deluxe room which could order for room service so needed a working phone they said we will come and sort it but never did. We would go and ask the restaurant directly since no working phone can we order and have room service they made up their faces saying no but we would see them bring food to other rooms but that's ok.

Breakfast was hit and miss. A couple things we ordered looked really yummy but tasted so bland it was annoying cause there was no seasoning in the food not even salt! Once we added salt and pepper ourselves it was alright. The pancakes was delicious yum

This was our first time staying here. The stay was exactly what we were looking for. Located minutes from the airport, easy access to hip strip and local beaches. The property felt safe and there was always staff visible on the property. Our bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The restaurant was a favorite. All the menu items that we tried were consistently good. They have many items to select from daily as well. I will be staying here again.

Our room was clean but wasn't the room we were supposed to have reserved, because obviously Expedia doesn't book the room when you pay for it, so you get whatever you end up with. It all worked out because we got a bungalow suite. It was in the center of the resort, we had an amazing front porch, with great views of the resort. They are very greedy with the towels, so if you need more towels then the number of people in your room you are not getting them. I person = 1 towel. You have to pay an additional $150.00 deposit upon arrival for damage protection. I added trip protection to my package but still needed the $150.00 deposit. The room didn't have any extras besides a mini fridge. The on-site restaurant is a great place to eat with great food and an amazing staff! The front staff was not very friendly but got the job done. Don't show up before 3pm, because you are NOT getting in. The house keepers were very friendly and did an amazing job.

We stayed at Toby’s resort in April 2026. Due to the recent hurricane in Montego Bay, our usual lodging was greatly damaged. I looked on the reviews from Expedia and decided to give it a try.
The check-in process was not bad. The manager was very pleasant and inviting. Once we began walking to our room, there was a long flight of steps to go up. We booked the “DELUXE” room. Sad to say there wasn’t anything deluxe about the room. The room was definitely outdated, the bathroom door was a sliding door. We didn’t have a dresser to put our clothes in. The iron leaked, the iron board had no iron padding and couldn’t be removed from the wall. The bathroom had a scent from the sewage that was backing up from the pipes, they gave us coffee beans to cover the scent.
The room needed a paint job. The king-size bed was 2 twin beds put together.

I must say that our cleaning lady was great, she gave us fresh sheets and fresh towels daily. She was friendly. She apologized for the scent in the bathroom and said that since the hurricane, everywhere had issues with sewage back-up.

Check-out was easy. Will I stay there again? No. This “resort” needs a complete makeover. The reviews were very misleading.

Location was great! Less than a 5 min walk to the beach, a store for snacks and beverages, and a local 24 hour jamaican restaurant. Located on the hipstrip. Pool and bar was nice. Staff was friendly. Budget friendly. The resort is more of a hotel if you will. Clean hot water and comfy bed wifi spacious relaxing shower. Room was up to date. Fresh towels on demand. Has a small balcony. I think all of them had a balcony. So thats a plus. Check in was at 3. Didnt have to have deposit on card. 9.5/10 the only thing is my tv didnt pick up channels. If your pn a budget and want ro stay in thw hipstrip BOOK! You won't be disappointed. Staff was very friendly which is a plus.

Nice room with good ac, mini fridge and comfy beds. Coffee, tea etc. my 2 main complaints the room is near dining hall so the noise from their ac was loud thou it is off when restaurant closed. Also they were mopping entry way and reception and didn’t help my partner who was on crutches and seemed annoyed that we were passing thru. Didn’t even hold doors open for him. But have stayed many times and will return. Close to beach and airport and reasonably priced

The two pools are nice, the staff are friendly & helpful, and I like having a balcony. Breakfast (stew fish and an omelet) was delicious!

This property is NOT on the beach—you can walk a couple of blocks to get to a tiny sliver of beach. We started walking to Doctors Cave and were accosted by so many people on the first stretch of the busy road that we decided not to go and returned to the property.

The beds were comfy and the AC worked, but there were issues with our room. The water didn’t get hot—maybe room temperature at the warmest. A colony of ants came out almost immediately to enjoy food we had out. Thankfully we had a fridge to hide what we didn’t throw out. (I was told fridges only come in the deluxe rooms.) Someone came to spray and the ants went away.
They must’ve had issues with theft—we paid a deposit for pool towels ($20) and also for the 3 remotes/incidentals when we checked in. They give you the remotes in a bag with your room key and you return them when you check out.
I would stay here again the night before flying out, but am glad we had other accommodations the rest of our visit.

Just depend of the unit they put you in. Nightmare beginning. TV didn't work. Floor was rough and discolored. Not like the first time I had the deluxe suite. However I'm going to give them grace I think they were fully booked. Tutor credit they did correct the problem with the TV and always the staff is accommodating.

The name for this place is very misleading.
This is nowhere close to being a resort!
Its more like a motel.
Place is old and jaded. Rooms have very basic items: no lotion, shower gel conditioner,coffee maker etc.
You had to return the TV remotes to the front desk. Very strange
Our room was next to the busy street so very noisy.
No blackout curtains so you cant sleep in
Basically you get what you pay for.
Not my choice next time Mobay.

This hotel is a backpackers in the shape of a resort. We knew this going into it and it served us exactly what we expected once we were in the correct room. We were given a standard room in error the first night and once we bought it to the hotel’s attention the following morning we were quickly moved and offered a free breakfast for the error which we appreciated. The breakfast was pretty good, I can understand why they get decent reviews for food. The deluxe room was much better and somewhere I was comfortable -ish enough sleeping (with knowing what I had chosen to book expecting a backpackers). The standard room wasn’t good - we both got bitten by bed bugs on the queen bed, the shower was unusable, the floor was dirty and hairs (not ours) were found on towels, bedsides etc the tv didn’t connect, the room was under an exterior sensor light that would turn on constantly throughout the night with see through curtains (for light). We had a room facing the road which was very noisy - not just due to traffic noise but music blaring from their cars and horns going at anytime of night. The pool had water in it and we saw a few people enjoying it. It’s extremely close to the airport, taxi’s (along with most things here) are very expensive though. 5 mins or 15 mins = $20 USD.

Great place to stay on budget - close by beaches and downtown clubs - everything is walking distance. Bring towels, they only give you one a day, buy a big bottle of water for your room because there’s nothing on site. They also charge you $2 delivery food and tip if you wanna order anything to the room.
