Everything about this resort was GREAT! We had so much fun, the food was so good, and there were so many fun things to do. The resort is right on a beautiful beach that is perfect for swimming. The staff were extremely nice and very helpful. The resort was very clean and up to date. Our room was cleaned and the mini fridge/bar was restocked daily. would definitely recommend this resort to anyone looking to go to Montego Bay!

I loved all of the activities that was right there on the property. . I do, however, wish that they would season their food better.. people from all over the world come to Jamaica to experience real Jamaican culture and a good 45% of that comes from the food. . I really wish I could’ve experienced the true Jamaican culture within the food.

This property does need some upgrades the customer service is horrible. The elevators and phone was down and we had no way to contact front desk for anything or housekeeping. I need to know if it's a way to contact front desk if there was an emergency.

All of the staff members were extremely nice. Always a smile on their face! Our room was always cleaned when we returned from our outings. The men and women who were part of all the night entertainment, were 🔥🔥🔥🔥! I had the pleasure of watching their M.J. tribute. It was Broadway worthy. PERFECT!!! The food was delicious. I will be returning.

Rooms were very clean as well as the entire property. Staff wasn’t as customer service friendly as expected. I know cultural difference may play a part. But there were a few that were extremely nice (Saneika at the inside bar and Jahmarie at Rosehall). True customer service friendly. Remembered my drink daily and my coffee and juice request for breakfast. The entertainment was lacking overall in the day. DJ plays for himself and the crew few years back was more interactive poolside etc. Entertainment needing some work updating their weekly entertainment and choreography. Food was overall good and lots to choose from. Sports Bar was lacking with late night food and some of the items sits there all day with self serve options. Not to hygienic in my opinion. I love the Riu, but I’ve out lived the Riu Montego Bay. Needing some work overall.

I liked the steak house, the golden dragon and the beach. I didn’t like the cockroaches by the oatmeal at the buffet, by the pool and in the hallways. Staff wasn’t friendly. Didn’t like that we weren’t able to have more than one beach towel. the chairs poolside were all dirty, some were stained with bird poop. Probably from the crows that fly around the dining area.

Staff is perfect. The food was good just the same thing every meal. Sometimes cold. I wanted to add a guest and was charged a lot more than I thought. The Montego bay resort guest are not allowed on the palace beach. Reminded me of Jim Crow it wasn't a good feeling when I was told I to leave the beach. Other than than everything else was good. Staff is excellent. Night life was good. Just wanted more reggae music vibes. But I enjoyed the music that was. I give this place a thumbs up.

My husband and I had a phenomenal time at the Riu Montego Bay. The property is beautiful. The rooms were really nice. The party crew were amazing, going around getting people involved and making sure everyone was having a blast. The staff were all wonderful. Trudy Ann and Chevelle in the main buffet went above and beyond. I watched as Trudy Ann worked that dining room, helping people get seated, and greeting groups with a fist bump and a smile. She was super attentive to us while we sat with her. Jamaican hospitality at its finest. Chevelle also immediately saw us and helped us find seating and was very attentive.

The guys in the kayaks on the beach had a great variety of souvenirs for great prices, as well as any other specific needs. Def give these guys some love when you visit.

Our room was kept spotless, and the property was kept very clean overall. We loved the food, the drinks, the Neon party, and steakhouse, etc. Best time here, and we will def return!!

Very relaxing and well maintained resort. Most staff were extremely helpful but there were a few who clearly did not want to be there… we tipped appropriately. Only complaint was not to do with the hotel itself but the guests. Our room was on the ground floor and we were woken up every night from 2am till 4am by guests going back to their rooms. The lifeguards did a nice job during the day keeping an eye on guests who had indulged too much but not at night.

The properties Common areas were not very clean.
The food was mostly good.However, quite often it was cold and dried out on the buffet. I would not visit this property again

My stay at Riu Montego Bay was fun overall. The resort was clean, the staff was absolutely amazing, and I had a great time. The one thing I felt was missing was a stronger Jamaican experience. Many people travel to Jamaica to enjoy the local culture, and I think the resort could do more to showcase it. For example, I would have loved to hear more reggae and Jamaican music throughout the resort. Even at the White Party, most of the music played was American. I also would have liked to see more authentic Jamaican food options. At breakfast, I was hoping for traditional items such as fried dumplings and ackee and saltfish, but the menu mostly featured foods I can easily get at home, such as eggs, bacon, and French toast. I understand that Riu is an international resort that caters to guests from all over the world, but at times it felt a little too Americanized. During my trip, I found myself leaving the resort every day to experience more of the local Jamaican culture, food, and atmosphere. That said, I still enjoyed my stay and appreciate the hard-working staff who helped make the trip enjoyable. With a few more authentic Jamaican touches, I think the experience would be even better.

If you’re looking for fun, great food, beautiful scenery than hotel Riu Montego Bay for you. Although we didn’t get a room that we originally paid for the stay was still enjoyable. My only gripe with this hotel is the beach. Please stop allowing local Haglers to come on the beach it ruined the experience at times. We would just be looking to chill or go for a swim and as soon as we step foot on the beach, we were immediately whistle that and bugged to come over and buy their trinkets and also drugs, even when we repeatedly said no.

It was by far our most memorable vacation. The room was very clean. We had a spacious balcony. The bar was well stocked. Food was so good and in large variety at the open bar that we did not even bother going to any of the nice restaurants. Service was excellent. The people working there are super friendly, always smile, and always happy to assist you. We took a couple of tours at the hotel and enjoyed those immensely.

I booked a room with double beds and got a king. The room was ok. You are allotted two wash cloths a day and two towels per person. Please bring your own. The sofa was visibly dirty. There are no microwaves in the room. If you are bringing food from outside of the resort good luck with warming up leftovers. My initial contact with staff member was pleasant when checking in. However, I had an issue with TV and when speaking to staff representative at the front desk. She asked did I turn the TV on. This was laughable. Of course I turned it on. They screen everyone who is coming into the resort. You must be on the reservation list and you must present your wrist brand. The food was ok but if you are looking for an authentic food experience. You will have to venture out to the local restaurants. Would I return to a RIU property. Yes, but perhaps a different one.
