This hotel is beautiful. Some of the decor is a bit outdated but the grounds are beautiful that is makes it worth it. You will be spending all of your time outside at the all inclusive swim up bar and the beach you won’t be seeing much of the room anyways!

The hotel seems old but we'll kept. Front desk, 5 stars, specially Lewis and Camille, they were great. Food was ok, nothing special. Streak house was the best. The rest of the restaurants, 2 to 3 stars max, specially the Italian. The room was ok. Very clean.TV was old, no streaming apps, just basic TV. No espresso machine, just a percolator. Staff in general, 3 stars. They were not very welcoming or friendly. Only a few were great.

We managed to secure a good deal through a third‑party vendor; otherwise, the stay would have felt quite expensive for what was offered. The restaurant and reception areas were well maintained and clean, but the rooms and corridors could definitely use some TLC. Attention to detail seemed to be lacking — the lifts were dirty, and the walls along the corridors were marked and worn, giving more of a back‑of‑house feel rather than a guest‑facing environment.

The room had an unpleasant sewage smell and didn’t appear to be well cared for. I’m not sure if this is a result of the recent hurricane, but the property would really benefit from the level of upkeep and guest experience delivered by the teams in Cape Verde, who clearly know how to maintain their hotel to a high standard.

The food was okay, but I feel that RIU focuses too much on quantity and ends up sacrificing quality. At times, it felt more like they were serving in bulk rather than catering to guests. That said, the selection available was quite good.

The entertainers were great and constantly interacting with guests, keeping everyone engaged both day and night. The catering and bar staff were also very friendly and always attentive.

The swim-up bar was the highlight of our trip. The bartenders were amazing and so patient and kind. Shout-out to Winston for being the best at it!! We split our time between two resorts and I could tell you the foos was comparable, if not, better than the other more expensive resorts. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Others complained about noise, but that doesn't bother me much. It's a vacation, people are meant to have a good time. Only minor issue was that if you slept in, often times, the best loungers were all taken (near the pool with swim-up bar). Also, not the best beach front if that's what you're looking for.

The staff at RIU Palace Jamaica is phenomenal! Everyone from the entertainment crew, servers, cooks, bartenders, cleaners and front desk bend over backwards to make sure you have the best time! The resort is clean. The food and drinks are great! And the entertainment is the best we have ever experienced!

They downgraded our room reservation without notification resulting in a loss of our Elite Club privileges during our honeymoon. We were told the refund would be sent to Expedia and we were not offered any form of compensation. The Rooms were dated and on our first night found a ROACH! The only bright point was the service staff, they were great! However, we will never stay at anothher RIU again. They certainly lost a frequent workd traveler.

Rooms were clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, and staff was friendly, fun, and helpful. It was difficult to make dinner reservations so we were only able to eat at two of the specialty restaurants but the buffet food was good. My only complaint was the snack bar. Even though it’s on the beach and near the pool you couldn’t go in there with a bathing suit on, which was a little annoying during the day when you wanted to get a snack while being at the pool. Otherwise we had a great time and would definitely choose Riu Palace again.

I attempted several times to contact the hotel prior to arrival to make our stay a little more systematically sound versus chaotic. My wifes birthday was the check in day and i was trying to get accommodations to make it more special as it was our first time in both the hotel and Jamaica. Our sheets weren't changed until we went to front desk to request a second time. Also, we utilized the hotels tour rep and paid for a bamboo and atv excursion for everything included. Come to find ourselves paying again after we arrived as $240 was for the transportation not the excursion but wasnt informed that and ended up paying over $660. The hotel tour rep should have been clear on what everything was for so we could have made a much better decision. We felt like deals were being made because we are tourist and not from Jamaica.

I want to start by saying that the most important thing for me is that I always felt safe during my stay. The resort was very clean, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which I truly appreciated.

That said, the biggest disappointment was the dining experience. Making reservations for the specialty restaurants felt nearly impossible. We arrived late our first night due to weather issues and were forced to eat at the buffet, and unfortunately, no one was willing or able to help us secure a reservation for any of the restaurants afterward. I don’t feel like guests should have to fight to get a reservation during their stay.

It was especially frustrating that the Asian restaurant is only open on Saturdays for about 2.5 hours, and most of the specialty restaurants are only open 2–3 days a week. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend booking this resort with the expectation that you’ll get to experience the specialty dining—chances are very slim.

Would I return? Not particularly to this resort. While the cold weather obviously isn’t the hotel’s fault, there was little to no entertainment offered to keep guests engaged due to the weather. There was only one party on Friday night, and that was it.

If you’re considering a trip to Jamaica, I’d strongly recommend checking the weather in advance. If food and dining options aren’t a priority for you, then this resort may still be a good fit. Otherwise, manage expectations accordingly.

Room and staff were great EXCEPT for housekeeping. I had 2 bottles of expensive cologne and a watch stolen from my room. Apparently that wasnt enough, i thought that it was strange when housekeeping was knocking on my door at 9:45 pm .. neither my daughter or myself responded. Housekeeper let herself in claiming to deliver hand towels and handed my daughter a strip of paper with a bible verse on it.. good thing we had decided not to go out that night. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Overall the stay was great, I do not think we would stay again, but the staff, amenities, restaurants, service was all expected for a 3-4 star resort. Our favorite restaurant on the palace resort was Krystal, with the seaside steak house coming in a close second. Make sure you book these immediately upon your arrival to the resort. They let us book 3 days in advance and then you book additional if you are staying longer as your stay continues on the RIU app.

The guest rooms are extremely outdated with cheap poorly executed finishes that do not reflect a resort experience. More concerning was the conduct of the front desk and management.

During housekeeping minor makeup residue was noted on towels and sheets which is normal wear and tear for a beach resort. Nothing was excessive or damaged. Despite this housekeeping never replaced our towels or changed our sheets during our stay. Just left a pile in the room.

A day before checkout we received an email stating we owed $520 for towel and sheet damages. That same evening around 7PM security and housekeeping repeatedly knocked on our door and called our hotel phone back to back.

When we did not answer because we were napping housekeeping unlocked and entered our room without consent to address the charge noticed we were asleep and left. This was frightening and a serious violation of privacy and safety.

We do not mind replacing towels if necessary but $520 is unreasonable. During checkout we were refused the ability to leave the resort and were told the hotel would call the airport to prevent us from leaving Jamaica if we did not pay. After back and forth the charge was reduced to $200 which we paid under pressure. They then attempted to charge $240 contradicting the agreement.

Multiple staff members could not explain this policy or why it was not disclosed at check in. This experience felt predatory particularly as two young women traveling together.

The thing that makes this hotel worth the extra money and revisiting is the entertainment team DJ Unstoppable, Stringbean, Astro, Denerio. Also they have tip boxes at the buffet food stations, at an all inclusive😤. They also mis advertise rewards that do not exist and take no accountable for their error.

No knocking just walking in the room. The staff were wonderful, great amenities, clean room, & great food/drinks! The biggest downfall was that we didn’t get the garden view booked, only the entrance lobby of the RIU MoBay! That was disappointing as we couldn’t enjoy our balcony due to the noise from the loading/maintenance area or whatever.

While room service is 24/7, ordering through their app isn’t beneficial. I placed an order & almost 2 hours later it still showed as pending. Housekeeping is great, but slow. As with room service, requested service through the app for housekeeping, as advised during check-in, only to not receive the items I requested. When I called the front desk, I was told to submit the request with them & they would forward it to housekeeping. In addition, our room did not have washcloths, so I had to request them. For some reason or another, when the room was serviced/cleaned, they would be removed - as they should, but not replaced. This led to us having to submit another request for items.

The food is great, but my husband felt the food at MoBay was better. While you can visit & enjoy the other properties, you can only dine at their buffets. Not a lot of entertainment at the Palace, but you can see some at the other properties.

When it comes to aesthetics, the vibe of RIU palace is slow & quiet. I chose the location for that reason, but it was too slow & quiet. We thought it was due to the hurricane. The overall look & feel was better at MoBay & we plan to book there next time.

Small property, specialty dining very limited, app for resort didn’t work well. Food at specialty dining menus are very limited and not the best. Getting reservations very difficult. Food at buffet was better. Room service items not very good. Only cold items available for room service and all items listed not available.
Some bar tenders were very good some not the friendliest.
Staying at palace allowed us to visit the other resorts next door which was nice
Entertainment was very limited and not much going on during the day.
Rooms need some upgrading. Wash clothes were limited
Property well kept outside and housekeeping was daily if needed. I’ve stayed at other adult only resorts in Jamaica and other countries first time at RIU but this one was by far the least impressive

The staff at this resort was amazing! Huge shoutout to bartenders David and Odain! They made the trip a great time. The entertainment crew is amazing as well. Too many great names to list. I saw a lot of negative reviews about the food but I thought the buffet was great with lots of diverse options. Maybe they were looking for chicken tenders, idk. The steakhouse was amazing. Steak was cooked well and tasted amazing. the lobster as well! No ATM on the property. Lots of locals sitting outside the gate. Got grabbed twice walking to the shopping center. So I just suggest going in a group of three and only during the day time. That aside we cannot wait to come back.
