Our stay was awesome amenities and staff were phenomenal. We give a big shout to the dining staff. One staff person in particular Ms Nafiesca her beautiful warm smile professional demeanor and helpful spirt made our trip that much more enjoyable & memorable. We will definitely return.

Staff were amazing! They went out of there way to make us feel welcome. Our room was always clean. Breakfast buffet was delicious with an array of different items. Swim up bar staff were attentive & friendly. Loved the Riu Palace Montego Bay and will definitely return! Yeah Man - a great place to stay! 😊

The staff was awesome but while we were there a piece of the bar fell off and hit one of our friends. The management did absolutely nothing and tried to blame him. This is the 4th RIu stayed in and was very disappointed in the management and their lack of handling the situation.

1st day they put us in a room that had roaches so they switched it for us and gave us a diffrent room which was better. The second issue there was roaches at the buffet i tild the waitress and she just stepped on it and walked away. But my overall stay was ok palace is a classy place if u just want to relax if u want to have a good time and be entertained go to riu montego bay or riu reggeah. At the palace is just a bunch of old people doing warer acrobatics no fun at all. The food was amazing ill give them that so mich to choose from

Be mindful when booking. Ocean view and ocean front are two different categories. Ocean views are considered partial views of the ocean at the resort in reality it is really facing the center grounds of the property. From the initial room I was assigned You have to be on the edge of balcony scrunched in the corner to see a sliver of it. Ocean front is elite club and requires expensive upgrade.

Resort was very nice. Staff as a hole was awesome from the time we stepped foot on the property. We will greet it with smiles luggage taken in and checked in with that. We were able to walk around the ground by our room was being prepared. And very helpful. Do not like you to leave without knowing where you’re going and if they can assist to get you to and from highly recommend.

We had a really enjoyable stay at Hotel Riu Palace Jamaica overall. The pools were clean and well-maintained, and the staff truly stood out — everyone was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout the trip.

The food was excellent for the most part. Nearly everything we tried was delicious and well-prepared. The only exception was the lobster, which unfortunately was overcooked and rubbery both times we ordered it.

The room was a bit dated and had a few minor issues, but nothing that significantly impacted our stay. Entertainment wasn’t their strongest area, but there was still enough to keep things enjoyable.

All in all, it was a great vacation. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives, and we would absolutely come back.

The overall rating 4.5 out of 5. The quieter environment is great if you get out before the start of cleaning the rooms around 9 AM. If late riser you will hear a lot of door slamming OMG. Also don’t waste your money for “Ocean View” All garden views OMG… Best if you want “ocean” get ocean front period. The standard buffet best deal and the 24 hour room service awesomeness.
Up grades not worth the buck unless money is no object.

This hotel is beautiful. Some of the decor is a bit outdated but the grounds are beautiful that is makes it worth it. You will be spending all of your time outside at the all inclusive swim up bar and the beach you won’t be seeing much of the room anyways!

The hotel seems old but we'll kept. Front desk, 5 stars, specially Lewis and Camille, they were great. Food was ok, nothing special. Streak house was the best. The rest of the restaurants, 2 to 3 stars max, specially the Italian. The room was ok. Very clean.TV was old, no streaming apps, just basic TV. No espresso machine, just a percolator. Staff in general, 3 stars. They were not very welcoming or friendly. Only a few were great.

We managed to secure a good deal through a third‑party vendor; otherwise, the stay would have felt quite expensive for what was offered. The restaurant and reception areas were well maintained and clean, but the rooms and corridors could definitely use some TLC. Attention to detail seemed to be lacking — the lifts were dirty, and the walls along the corridors were marked and worn, giving more of a back‑of‑house feel rather than a guest‑facing environment.

The room had an unpleasant sewage smell and didn’t appear to be well cared for. I’m not sure if this is a result of the recent hurricane, but the property would really benefit from the level of upkeep and guest experience delivered by the teams in Cape Verde, who clearly know how to maintain their hotel to a high standard.

The food was okay, but I feel that RIU focuses too much on quantity and ends up sacrificing quality. At times, it felt more like they were serving in bulk rather than catering to guests. That said, the selection available was quite good.

The entertainers were great and constantly interacting with guests, keeping everyone engaged both day and night. The catering and bar staff were also very friendly and always attentive.

The swim-up bar was the highlight of our trip. The bartenders were amazing and so patient and kind. Shout-out to Winston for being the best at it!! We split our time between two resorts and I could tell you the foos was comparable, if not, better than the other more expensive resorts. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Others complained about noise, but that doesn't bother me much. It's a vacation, people are meant to have a good time. Only minor issue was that if you slept in, often times, the best loungers were all taken (near the pool with swim-up bar). Also, not the best beach front if that's what you're looking for.

They downgraded our room reservation without notification resulting in a loss of our Elite Club privileges during our honeymoon. We were told the refund would be sent to Expedia and we were not offered any form of compensation. The Rooms were dated and on our first night found a ROACH! The only bright point was the service staff, they were great! However, we will never stay at anothher RIU again. They certainly lost a frequent workd traveler.

It was difficult to make dinner reservations so we were only able to eat at two of the specialty restaurants but the buffet food was good. My only complaint was the snack bar. Even though it’s on the beach and near the pool you couldn’t go in there with a bathing suit on, which was a little annoying during the day when you wanted to get a snack while being at the pool. Otherwise we had a great time and would definitely choose Riu Palace again.

I attempted several times to contact the hotel prior to arrival to make our stay a little more systematically sound versus chaotic. My wifes birthday was the check in day and i was trying to get accommodations to make it more special as it was our first time in both the hotel and Jamaica. Our sheets weren't changed until we went to front desk to request a second time. Also, we utilized the hotels tour rep and paid for a bamboo and atv excursion for everything included. Come to find ourselves paying again after we arrived as $240 was for the transportation not the excursion but wasnt informed that and ended up paying over $660. The hotel tour rep should have been clear on what everything was for so we could have made a much better decision. We felt like deals were being made because we are tourist and not from Jamaica.

I want to start by saying that the most important thing for me is that I always felt safe during my stay. The resort was very clean, and the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which I truly appreciated.

That said, the biggest disappointment was the dining experience. Making reservations for the specialty restaurants felt nearly impossible. We arrived late our first night due to weather issues and were forced to eat at the buffet, and unfortunately, no one was willing or able to help us secure a reservation for any of the restaurants afterward. I don’t feel like guests should have to fight to get a reservation during their stay.

It was especially frustrating that the Asian restaurant is only open on Saturdays for about 2.5 hours, and most of the specialty restaurants are only open 2–3 days a week. Because of this, I wouldn’t recommend booking this resort with the expectation that you’ll get to experience the specialty dining—chances are very slim.

Would I return? Not particularly to this resort. While the cold weather obviously isn’t the hotel’s fault, there was little to no entertainment offered to keep guests engaged due to the weather. There was only one party on Friday night, and that was it.

If you’re considering a trip to Jamaica, I’d strongly recommend checking the weather in advance. If food and dining options aren’t a priority for you, then this resort may still be a good fit. Otherwise, manage expectations accordingly.

Apparently that wasnt enough, i thought that it was strange when housekeeping was knocking on my door at 9:45 pm .. neither my daughter or myself responded. Housekeeper let herself in claiming to deliver hand towels and handed my daughter a strip of paper with a bible verse on it.. good thing we had decided not to go out that night. TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.

Overall the stay was great, I do not think we would stay again, but the staff, amenities, restaurants, service was all expected for a 3-4 star resort. Our favorite restaurant on the palace resort was Krystal, with the seaside steak house coming in a close second. Make sure you book these immediately upon your arrival to the resort. They let us book 3 days in advance and then you book additional if you are staying longer as your stay continues on the RIU app.

The guest rooms are extremely outdated with cheap poorly executed finishes that do not reflect a resort experience. More concerning was the conduct of the front desk and management.

During housekeeping minor makeup residue was noted on towels and sheets which is normal wear and tear for a beach resort. Nothing was excessive or damaged. Despite this housekeeping never replaced our towels or changed our sheets during our stay. Just left a pile in the room.

A day before checkout we received an email stating we owed $520 for towel and sheet damages. That same evening around 7PM security and housekeeping repeatedly knocked on our door and called our hotel phone back to back.

When we did not answer because we were napping housekeeping unlocked and entered our room without consent to address the charge noticed we were asleep and left. This was frightening and a serious violation of privacy and safety.

We do not mind replacing towels if necessary but $520 is unreasonable. During checkout we were refused the ability to leave the resort and were told the hotel would call the airport to prevent us from leaving Jamaica if we did not pay. After back and forth the charge was reduced to $200 which we paid under pressure. They then attempted to charge $240 contradicting the agreement.

Multiple staff members could not explain this policy or why it was not disclosed at check in. This experience felt predatory particularly as two young women traveling together.

The thing that makes this hotel worth the extra money and revisiting is the entertainment team DJ Unstoppable, Stringbean, Astro, Denerio. Also they have tip boxes at the buffet food stations, at an all inclusive😤. They also mis advertise rewards that do not exist and take no accountable for their error.

But never in my life have I ever had multiple housekeeping people walk in the room and when I say walk in I mean they were acting like they were living with us... No knocking just walking in the room. I was completely violated at this hotel my wife and I were mortified when a housekeeping employee made their way right into our room when we were completely naked. Worst experience of our lives
