I enjoyed my stay at RIU Palace. I particularly enjoyed the access to the other resorts. I however felt watched by security and felt inconvenienced a lot by some staff. It seems a lot is done through app. We didn’t learn how to use it til day 3 when head guy at dinner showed us. Then we had the hand gel hookah and it rained a lot and as I sat at pool at Reggae security approached me when to my left a man was smoking weed and 2 rows in front a women was smoking her hookah both were white but he felt the need to approach me walking past the super strong smell of week. Then we were in Palace pool by Elite building and it started raining so most everyone rain to food place right beside pool it’s like 3:02pm and they refused to serve us and made us run over to aqua lounge. Let’s talks about elite. We paid for the upgrade but it was certainly not worth it and the service that we thought came along with it was not up to par. We couldn’t get reservations or too much of anything with the elite bracelet: one shining star was Japoria at Vogue Bar. She was always pleasant and made great drinks. Let’s revisit me with my hookah with 5% nicotine and flavor. I’m sitting on the beach alone and the chairs still wet and here again security harassing me to move 5 ft literally 2 steps over in the open air to smoking section.. Ridiculous! Would I stay again sure, because we had a good time. Would I upgrade not for service if I did but for that amazing room. But this wouldn’t be my first choice.

Some of the staff were amazing however we found the staff at breakfast to be inattentive and felt ignored. The bartenders were all amazing. The resort was very clean. The food was good. The buffet felt like a repeat everyday however the specialty restaurants were amazing. We did the Italian and the steakhouse which were both excellent.

The food at the buffet was consistently good, the rotation of the menu was great. The specialty restaurants were serviceable, the real start is the buffet. The entertainment staff were very courteous and fun, the support staff were friendly and very helpful. We loved the full strength drinks served up at the pool bar and the Aqua bar, I would definitely recommend this resort.

We had an absolute blast at RIU Palace Montego Bay. Staff, Pool, entertainment, drinks, food, were all really excellent. I only have one issue... The Beds are THE WORST IN THE WORLD. The all have to be destroyed immediately. My neck and back are in complete shambles after trying to sleep on them for a week.

My husband and I went there for my birthday, I never liked the fact that my husband and I were told on the same time we checked in that all the restaurants were unavailable for reservations for the three nights we were spending or one of us would have to go for dinner at six thirty pm and the other at seven pm because there was only seating for 1, which didn’t make sense
However we were venting and a staff heard us and we explained the situation and she told us that she would help and she never failed us.

The pros FAR outweighed the cons. The fact that it is a small resort with everything so close together was a HUGE plus. Nothing was more than 50 steps away. The party at the sibling resort was SUPER FUN. The staff were VERY friendly and helpful. The food was DELICIOUS. Restaurants were GREAT. Daytime pool and nighttime evening programs were extremely well done. Even the fact that beach beds are first come first served and not for $$ is AWESOME. Cons? It is very close to the airport (upside is a cheap taxi) so planes do fly out everyday and you see/hear them but never at night. Rooms are a little more Holiday Inn than Hyatt but the resort is going under renovations soon and it will be fab (and probably more expensive so I’d go now!). The weather was amazing in May. The only other annoyance that didn’t ruin anything is that restaurants and buffet only serve wine and soft drinks. You have to go to the bar and bring a mixed drink with you. Not a big deal. Everything is so close it doesn’t matter. That’s it! I say go!

One of the best hotel, I've been in Jamaica because of it's many access..Quick access to the airport, plazas, KFC, local cuisine, taxis, grocery store and more..The staff were amazing, helpful, thoughtful and accommodating..my excursion was canceled and they found immediate resolution which worked out better than the initial activity because it was private instead of a group..So romantic for me and my spouse..Overall the vibe, the food, the mood was everything I needed.. I stayed at the Rui Palace because I wanted a low key vacation but again access to everywhere which for night life Rui Reggae and Rui Montego are the places and they never disappoint...Palace is more for grown adult peaceful, relaxing vibes..I loved every bit of it..Will be going back again but stay at the Reggae..

We recently stayed at the Riu Palace Jamaica in Montego Bay. Overall, our stay was nice, and the staff was generally friendly and accommodating.

One thing that was disappointing was that when we booked, it was advertised that we would have access to the two neighboring Riu properties. However, upon arrival, we learned that there were limitations on what areas and amenities we could actually use. This was not clearly communicated beforehand and was a bit frustrating.

To be honest, after seeing the neighboring Riu Montego Bay property, we wish we had booked there instead. While we were not able to see every room, the property itself appeared more updated, cleaner, and closer to the overall atmosphere and aesthetic we were looking for.

The food was another area where we felt improvements could be made. If you eat at the main dining hall, expect to see many of the same options day after day. There wasn’t a lot of variety, which became repetitive during our stay.

That said, we still enjoyed ourselves and made the best of our trip. The beautiful location, relaxing atmosphere, and friendly staff helped make our vacation enjoyable despite some of the drawbacks.

Overall excellent vacation. Overall the Staff was awesome especially the bartender’s. Shoutout to Winston at the pool bar and the lovely lady at the cafe who made us excellent iced coffees. Food exceeded our expectations. Very good for an all inclusive especially a RIU.

A few negatives though

1. There is definitely some wear and tear. The shower head and mirror in the bathroom have seen better days (it was clean but definitely needs an update). The mirror had these weird red marks.

2. Not the best experience at Zen. We were sat and our drink orders were taken then we were completely ignored for half an hour. No one took our orders or brought our drinks until the host eventually came to refill our waters and must have sensed our irritation and asked if something was wrong. I explained that it has been half an hour and we were still just waiting for someone to bring our drinks and take our orders.

First time to Jamaica and we will definitely be back. The Riu made our experience memorable for all the right reasons, the staff was great, they were accommodating and attentive. I loved how there was entertainment every day/night between the resorts you have access to. It made leaving the resort unnecessary, but if you wanted to they had staff there to hold your hand through the process.
The only thing I would change is how late house cleaning comes each time. My husband and I ran into our room being cleaned after 4pm on a couple of occasions. Not a real concern, glad they were there to clean.

The staff are lovely, very friendly and accommodating. We enjoyed the pool activities - shoutout to Genius, Astro and the DJ. The buffet has something for everyone, and our table server took good care of us every morning. The Jamaican BBQ on the beach was a nice touch. The food at Zen was great and the atmosphere and food at Krystal were unique. The white party next door was fun! Bingo at the main bar was good fun and Archer the bartender is great. We had a wonderful time and will be back again sometime!

AMAZING STAFF! Sheldon at the front desk was so helpful and accommodating. All the staff members were so nice. Jemar in the buffet area is adorable and has great recommendations for Local food, and activities.They remembered your name, every time they saw you. I went for my birthday and they sang happy birthday to me multiple times. The food is amazing. The buffet is simply delicious. It is the best buffet I’ve ever had in my life. All the ingredients are fresh, and organic. We stayed at the palace, which was nice because it was the calmer and the more relaxing of the resort, but we still had access to All 3 resorts. They had a ton of different events, like foam parties, an all white party, disco party, and Michael Jackson tribute. There’s always something to do on the resort day or night, and the staff is very friendly and interactive with the guests. The rooms were clean and had beautiful views of the ocean.

Just got back from RIU Palace Jamaica, and overall this was an amazing trip and absolutely a worthwhile splurge. Jamaica was warm, beautiful, and welcoming, and the staff were truly a standout. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and attentive, our room was kept very clean, the atmosphere was relaxed and fun, the Elite food was excellent, the specialty restaurants were also great, and the location made it easy to walk to the other RIU resorts for parties and activities. We also booked a private van through the lobby desk for a full day of bamboo rafting on the Martha Brae, dinner at a local restaurant, shopping, and the Luminous Lagoon, which was a highlight for our group.

The one major issue was an incident at the swim-up bar where a piece of marble fell and seriously injured our friend’s foot, which affected a large part of his vacation. What made it more upsetting was hearing from another guest that this had apparently recently happened before, which suggests it was not a new issue. The lack of concern, compassion, or meaningful follow-up from management/corporate after such an expensive trip from the US West Coast was extremely disappointing.

That said, the amazing staff and the beauty of the resort are what we will remember most. It is just unfortunate that the handling of this incident left us feeling that, despite how much we enjoyed so much of the trip, we will likely explore other options in the future.

My one and only complaint was being asked to leave dinner because my dress was too revealing😳😩 only to come back to shorts exposing the literal buttocks, crop tops, biker shorts…,, weird right💁. We were given the wrong rooms upon arrival and the drinks were not strong and served with bottom shelf liquor. The parties were OK until somebody threw up in the pool. At the Italian restaurant there was roaches on the table to which we were upgraded to the elite club dining for the following night, but this was towards the beginning of our trip so we had to eat out for the majority, the buffet was stale. The breakfast buffet was decent, and the views were beautiful, but I wouldn’t travel here again.

1st day they put us in a room that had roaches so they switched it for us and gave us a diffrent room which was better. The second issue there was roaches at the buffet i tild the waitress and she just stepped on it and walked away. But my overall stay was ok palace is a classy place if u just want to relax if u want to have a good time and be entertained go to riu montego bay or riu reggeah. Be mindful when booking. Ocean view and ocean front are two different categories. Ocean views are considered partial views of the ocean at the resort in reality it is really facing the center grounds of the property. From the initial room I was assigned You have to be on the edge of balcony scrunched in the corner to see a sliver of it. Ocean front is elite club and requires expensive upgrade.
