They cleaned the rooms around 5pm most days, when you have been gone since 9AM! The food was not very good and the shows were not very good.
And the customer service is nonexistent!

This was amazing room, the staff was amazing. The only thing I would complain about is the one elevator and how far it is from so many rooms. But it is what it is. I wish they would build another elevator at the east end of the resort.

TThe entire staff at the property was extremely helpful and pleasant. Guests can access the beach 24 hours a day. The nightlife options are enjoyable, and you have the opportunity to schedule fine dining experiences.

My only issue was, my group consisted of myself, wife, two daughters and niece. On Wednesday my niece had too much to drink and threw up in the pool. Your staff decided to bully and extort my wife who is the only white female in the group, my daughters and niece are all black of $500.00 USD. I was in the hotel resting at the time. I wasn't aware of the issue, she was coerced, bully into paying this bill before I found out about it. My wife didn't threw up in the pool, my niece did...Why was she liable for this bill??

The rooms was lacking the needs like towels robes. I got locked out my room and I was told by staff to come downstairs and get the key. I got woken up in the middle of the night when they didn’t want to replace or give me towels in a roll. Staff was very inconsiderate when I told them that I had just gotten locked out of my room and they wanted me to come get the key and I did not have any clothes on thank God. My sister‘s room was next-door to me and I stayed in her room until I was able to get in my room.

Nice facility. Entertainment staff were lovely and made you feel welcome, the other staff did not do a great job of that. The excursion that we bought on the resort to go snorkeling turned out to be a scam. I will not be going back to say the least.

I didn’t want to leave at all ! Come back to room beds made. ALL THE MEALS WERE AMAZING. The drink throughout the resort were so tasty.

If you make reservations at restaurants on the resort, ask for the Rose Moscato

The room was clean, fresh, and smelled pleasant upon arrival. The property itself was also well maintained, and the food was both delicious and attractively presented.

Unfortunately, the customer service was very poor and is an area that needs significant improvement. While the accommodations and dining experience were enjoyable, the level of service negatively impacted my overall stay.
Having stayed at all three of their Montego Bay properties, I found this one to be the weakest overall experience.

Price does not align with what you are getting. It’s too expensive and you get the bare minimum of what an all inclusive is supposed to offer.

Considering a natural disaster occurred only months prior, I will say the staff did their best with what they had. Moldy vents and smell of mold is what was most concerning during our trip in terms of cleanliness.

Entertainment did their very best and was the highlight of the trip.

The beach was beautiful and well kept. However, we were annoyed with the beach vendors as they were harassing nearly everyday of our trip. Saying no one time is more than enough. This prevented us from being in peace and enjoying the beach portion.

Pools are outdated and need some minimal repairs and cleaning.

Food lacked flavor and wait staff were mostly rude. Asking for basic needs like utensils or drinks was always met with attitude or rolled eyes.

Not the worst experience, but not the best - i can’t stress this enough - it was not the best especially for the price.

Check in and check out was smooth. Would not recommend to friends or family. Would not be visiting this location again.

If i paid half the price i did then i would be somewhat satisfied. Luxury pricing for moldy vents, chipped pool tiles, and annoying beach vendors on the resort. Not worth the pricing at all.

The resort was beautiful and the staff was great. All of the staff were helpful and greeted you with a smile. It rain several days and there was not much to do. I wish the activities they did have were posted in a general area daily. The App time and the time the staff gave were different. There should be more inside activities. The glow party was great and the dancer’s was entertaining. Mr. Pineapple was very entertaining, and provided any info we needed. The general food was Ok. The Dolce Vita Restaurant and the Steakhouse were excellent.

I have to start by saying the food is terrible.Front desk staff isn’t very welcoming or as helpful. The day we arrived we weren’t welcomed. Nobody helped ous with our bags no welcome drinks. We had to drag everything over to the counter. Entertainment wise not a whole lot. But they did keep at it with the pool entertainment. Had problems with walls plugs TV never worked the whole stay. The people serving drinks behind the bars were amazing though! This was our first time trying RIU Resort’s aside from our normal resort brand we use. I have to say I’m disappointed.

Overall good stay at Riu Reggae! Took niece for graduation trip! Rooms looked exactly as described and were certainly clean. Housekeeping does great job cleaning up the beach sand every evening. Hotel entertainment was ok. The virtual videos at night at the stage area wasn’t too great. Main issue was I lost two nights of quality sleep due to possibly the roof ventilation system noise going for hours at night when we were moved to Room 2011 above the Ackee restaurant. Knocked off a star for the disturbance. Also the balcony views aren’t the best from this room/building location. Before we were switched to this room for the double beds I selected garden view (kept it basic). On balcony for Room 2011, you are looking at the entrances to the opposite building and the roof. You have to turn at an angle to get the partial ocean view. Next time I’d upgrade to ocean view . Enjoyed Ackee buffet and Dolce Italian restaurant for the ital breakfast food and the well seasoned mussels and calamari at the Italian spot!

The property and the staff was phenomenal, what I didn't like is the fact that when I booked I was told I'd get a certain amount in US dollars to spend at the resort but when I got there and asked about it they barely explained and told me it's coupons for different stuff but never explained how I would get them or what I needed to do to get them. This was misleading and I was under the impression that I could use the funds on whatever I wanted to.

Room was very nice and the staff very to notch. The beaches were wonderful and the evening entertainment was very enjoyable. This was our second time to Montego Bay we were married there in 2001, this was our second honeymoon our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a great time at the resort and would definitely stay there again, 7 days and 7 nights were not enough lol. Thank you RUI Resort to you and all your wonderful staff for making my wife and myself 25 honeymoon a time full of wonderful memories.

It was clean. Only thing that really made me not want to go back was we were supposed to get a 634 credit when we got to the hotel. Never received it ! They gave us the run around until we just stopped asking. And our room had ants had to get bug spray for the time we were there. Food ok. Next time I think it will be a house rental with private chef. Met a lot of them while was there. And it will be much cheaper. Yes the resort got to keep over 1200 of our credit we were to receive.

Riu Reggae is a very clean property. The grounds are very well maintained as well as the rooms. The beach is beautiful and well maintained as well. This year the vendors in their little boats sitting off the beach were much more numerous and more invasive. In years past they were not allowed to come into the roped off area within being requested by a customer. The food is good, not great. The atmosphere is always upbeat and lively and always inviting to everyone.

I called over a month in advance to the resort personally to ensure a room with 2 beds over a king bed. I was told ( and can show phone records and call recording) I woukd have a room with 2 beds as was a trip with my daughter. At arrival, there was zero record available of this resort direct call.
I travel often to the carribean, and admit I had not been to Jamaica in over 20 years, but can say the staff and treatment of this all inclusive facility consistently outwardly showed distain and annoyance to guests (i tiptoed around requests after seeing others treated poorly and hearing bar staff and front desk openly insult other patrons without apology or an attempted whisper).
The food at the resort was probably the largest offense. Luckily we were 2 girls who are not big foodies....but the food was so bad we struggled daily to find edible choices that were tasteful over physical neccessity.!
Who ruins eggs and breakfast???( answer, Rui). ( runny, wet egg substitute,)
Lunch and dinner was worse!

Our room was very clean and looked brand new everyday after the cleaners came. The servers at the restaurants and especially the breakfast buffet were so sweet and kind. The gym is a little basic which wasn’t a huge downside and it was still very well maintained. We got a garden view room which had a wonderful view and balcony. Overall, felt very safe and welcoming. Only issue we had was with our minibar refills. It wasn’t refilled the entire trip and our request for water bottles wasn’t fulfilled even after my request on the app said it has been resolved. Overall a great resort experience just be mindful you may have to ask the front desk for water bottles or minibar concerns.

This was my second visit to the hotel and it was better than the first. I did not do any excursions just activities on the resort. While Sunday's are more relaxed I wish it was more things to do. Other than that between the games and the shows I throughly enjoyed myself. Staff is amazing. Bar staff keeps the drinks coming anll day and night. Entertainment staff exceptional. The shows were great loved them all. Special shout to the entertainment staff. Especially Nahzie, Nika, Gabby, Bubbles, Rihanna and of course Pineapple.

So, we have stayed at many Riu properties and each time it’s been great. However, the Riu Reggae falls to the bottom of the Riu properties we’ve stayed at. To start we assumed they had room service like every other Riu we stayed at, but they didn’t. They didn’t replenish your fridge each day, it’s every other day which was strange. The property had plenty of lounge chairs, not one on the beach where the temp could get to 100+ so be prepared to get cooked badly on the beach. The buffet didn’t change their menu each night like most other Riu hotels. Not sure why, perhaps it’s just a lower end hotel, but these mentions were never an issue at any Riu we stayed at before. Now, I’m not saying it was terrible, it was just meh. The staff were very friendly and the Jamaican people as a whole were pretty awesome, but if any of those issues I mentioned would bother you, I’d recommend looking at another Riu property. This one has to catch up to the exemplary service we’ve received elsewhere.

We spent most of our time at the poolside Margarita bar. Delroy, Rodgeroy, and Samanda were incredible bartenders! This pool was quiet and chill, and we met a lot of great people! We did not spend any time at the other pool, where all the activities were going on, so I can't say anything about all that.

Honestly, we weren't *as* impressed with the buffet staff - some were ok, but quite a few just weren't happy or friendly, ever. Food at the buffet was good, with a good variety. The jerk chicken at the chicken hut was delicious - beware of the spicy sauce!

We had dinner at the Italian restaurant one night, on my birthday, actually, and they surprised me by singing to me and bringing out a cake! The staff there were super friendly. The food, eh, it was good.

My only complaint is there are no umbrellas by the loungers on the beach. Poolside loungers tend to fill up fast, so one day I grabbed the closest beach lounger to the pool. By midday, I was needing out of the pool and into some shade, but none of the beach loungers had umbrellas. That made for a really hot day, for me at least.

They were offering free rides across the street into the shopping center, so we took advantage rather than walking. Do this is you want to get off property and do some souvenir shopping!

Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Reggae!

If you’re looking for a fun but relaxing place to go to Rui Reggae is the place for you. You’re also able to go to the other neighbor hotels that have different vibes. Rui Reggae is by far the best place to vacation. You have 3 different pools, the beach, swim up bars & fun games throughout your stay.The cleanliness of the rooms were excellent & also comes with a balcony. The STAFF was amazing whether you’re at the lobby bar/front desk, the buffet for breakfast, lunch, dinner, entertainment staff EVERYONE! You’ll feel welcomed, entertained & at home. Thank you Rui Reggae!!!
