Pleasantly surprised by this hotel, we had the ocean view king room . Room was clean and comfortable. The only issue in the room was the when you showered the bathroom would flood. We adjusted the shower head and was fine. The staff was quite nice. A perfect spot if you want to enjoy the night life offered on the hip strip Montego Bay, all in walking distance from this hotel. Will stay here again

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel 39 in Montego Bay! The rooms were super clean, and the entire property was spotless, welcoming, and very well kept. The staff were incredibly pleasant and made the experience even better with their friendly and helpful attitude. It was also very affordable while still being comfortable and relaxing. I would definitely stay there again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Montego Bay!

One thing I can love and appreciate about a place of business and entertainment; when customers have reviews, management considers them, apologizes if necessary, and vows to do better; leaving the customer feeling heard and appreciated.

Hotel 39 is an example of a luxury organization on the rise. Ideal location and a few elite staff determined to do better and give A+ service!

Huge shout out to Daniek and Tash - the face of this organization for me!! Coming in from the emotions of my Father's funeral, their warm, consistent attention to the needs of the guest when you first walk in made this place worth revisiting!!

The overall potential of the property and its intention to make it the quality hotel it will be definitely outweighed the few hiccups during our stay.

Huge shout-out to Twitter - Mr. Whitter - you're a breath of fresh air in that dining room, sir. I pray you keep that spark - you're truly working in your calling. Thank you for making my family feel cared for and fed right! OJ, that coconut run and pineapple juice will be my favorite drink at that bar! Thank you, sir!

The third-floor ocean-view room was my absolute favorite part of this trip!! The room was clean and the beds were comfortable! We stayed on the 1st floor fr a few days and it was also very clean and water pressure was superb!!

Looking forward to seeing the upgrades needed by the pool area - chairs, pool&bar. Updated menus, and all the other amazing amenities that you all will be working on!

No greeters to take our luggage 2 females had to carry up the stairs.
We asked for extra towels they said no house keepers to bring towels.
We asked for extra blankets saud the same and asked me to go downstairs to grab them .

I booked this hotel with the highest expectation of a short staycation. However, I got a faulty room instead. When I checked in, my tv did not work. It was reported to staff and I was told that the Ethernet was down. I asked for another room of compensation, I was told that I’d have to take it up with Expedia since I booked through them. So my room was like a cemetery for the night. No entertainment in my own room. Signal on my phone only worked whilst in the lobby. Some of the sockets had no power. I believe they knew the room had its issues so they coerced their responses since I was only spending a night. I can only say breakfast was good.

I would recommend staying in ocean view to really enjoy the sunsets and view of the ocean. Room was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was decent with a choice of continental or Jamaican - one day it took us 1 hour to receive the food as service can be slow. Next day we asked for it to go and came back 30 min later. Excelent location. Felt completly safe. Did not use the pool or other amenities. Would recommend and return.

Cons: Staff horrible everything for breakfast they ask like they don’t see u and take a while to give u a table, when is plenty of tables available they say they need to be clean first but 30 min ??? When is nobody on them. Front desk don’t even give me excursions option like they never know anything i ask some of them , no nice.

We had a very pleasant stay overall. The hotel is very nice, clean, and well maintained. The room was comfortable, and the bed was extremely comfy, we slept great. The location was good.

I rated it 4/5 due to a few issues that affected our stay. The TV did not work, the phone in the room was not functioning, and the Wi-Fi had very limited service. Additionally, the restaurant indicated it closed at 9:00 pm, but when we tried to order food at 8:40 pm, we were told it was no longer available. I wish we had been made aware of that ahead of time.

Overall, it’s a lovely hotel and we enjoyed our stay, but those details made a difference.

Due to the Hurricane, it was not open. No power and yet they have taken my money through \"Affirm\" and not returned it as of yet. However, we got to speak to the manager who happened to be there for security reasons.
He gave us some places in Negril to stay, and we had to drive in the middle of the night in complete darkness to have somewhere to stay. A 2-hour max trip took us 4-hours. Although the manager was pleasant the return of my payment needs to be returned immediately.

EVERYTHING WAS GREAT, THE STAFF, THE LOCATION. HOWEVER THE AREA OF THE POOL WAS AN INCONVENIENCE IT WAS LOCATED ON TOP OF THE BUILDING BEHIND HOTEL AND U HAD TO WALK UP ALOT OF STAIRS TO GET TO IT. PEOPLE WITH BAD KNEES OR HEART WOULD NEVER BE ABLE TO CLIMB THOSE STEEP STAIRS. ALSO THE BREAKFAST THEY OFFERED LACKED BREAKFAST. MOST DAYS THEY OFFERED LEFT OVER FOOD(NOT BREAKFAST FOOD) FROM IM ASSUMING THE NIGHT BEFORE? AND NO REGULAR SUGAR FOR COFFEE JUST BROWN SUGAR OR EQUAL.

Very nice area right on the hip strip. Amazing ocean view! Comfortable bed but you only get a sheet to cover so if the air conditioner gets chilly you will be cold. You get two little bottles of water.

The hotel was comfortable after my bed was fixed. The breakfast service was slow. I would have preferred a buffet service. There was no nightly managers reception as noted.
The common areas like lobby, hallways and elevator are not air-conditioned.

The Front desk staff were very helpful especially Onesha. My one major disappointment was the pool was difficult to reach for my accessible daughter.

The property was close to the hip strip and was footsteps away from the free beach. The service at the front desk was good. The cable TV did not work and they quickly changed out rooms. The breakfast was authentic. Hotel was close to Pelican restaurant and Margaritaville. Will be staying here again for sure.

I like the hotel a lot for its location, cleanliness, and front desk staff was accommodating. Some of their challenges are, restaurant provides a complimentary breakfast but I fine the service to be very poor. You seat yourself, the waitress took over 10 mins to get to my table. Only after I asked when will someone wait on my table that is when she attended to me. After placing the order and waiting another 15 mins I told the waitress I am leaving to purchase my own breakfast at the restaurant nextdoor. She expedited my order which did not make me feel good as two other tables who I met there did not get their meal but because I said something I got my food pushed to the front of the line. Additionally, there is a pool, not greatly advertised. I would recommend the ocean across the street to bathe in than the pool. No elevator to the pool and there are two ways to get there, via a very steep hill or stairs. The pool was not well constructed. It is unusually sloped without stairs or rails to hold on to when entering. Can be dangerous for small children as they can easily slip into the deep based on the slope. And the floor was a bit slippery, I mention to the front desk folks that the may want to put down some sort of anti-slip coating to the pool floor. You must try the pork pit for the best jerk chicken in town. The also do jerk pork and baby back ribs. It about 6 mins walking distance from the hotel. Enjoy!

The property needs more maintenance and cleaning staff. The few I encountered were pleasant. My tv worked the last day that I was there and I would have to request things several times before the front desk supplied what i requested. Also the vent in the bathroom fell when I was taking a shower. When customers check out the front desk attendant didn’t even ask how my stay was- which was concerning. The breakfast was great. The pool umbrellas were not installed properly.

If you’re looking for a quiet place to stay, this is not it. the ocean view room is right by the road where you can hear cars playing loud music, honking, loud motorcycles, and everything else. the room is definitely not sound proof. there’s also a park that sometimes holds events. you might want to look into what’s going on in the park because they were playing extremely loud music until almost 4am one day during our stay.

their rooftop pool was located in a separate building and has a very limited view (you see more of the other building than the ocean view) and was pretty dirty.

the king size bed we had only had two flimsy little pillows and 5 decorative pillows you wouldn’t want to sleep on/with. they also only give you a thin sheet like you’re an inmate in some lush prison. there’s a bunch of different switches that aren’t labeled so you’ll have to switch them all and find out for yourself what they turn on/off.

we stayed here for 10 days and their elevator was broken since day one. we had to walk up/down 3 flights of steps every time we left the room. there’s also no ice available on each floor. the front desk was not accommodating at all and made us walk the 3 flights down to the bar to get ice and 3 flights back up. i have a preexisting knee injury and this was less than unacceptable.

Overall a great property. Front desk gives a lasting first impression. We came when they had an event across the street in the park and the windows were not soundproof, they were so loud when trying to sleep after a long night. Otherwise great property, great staff, great breakfast, great drinks from bartender and I will be back.
