Staff provided welcoming service, were very courteous and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. Our breakfast were well prepared and tasty. The exterior of the property (lawn, building) is well kept and very welcoming. The interior is very clean, so were our room and bathroom. The view is amazing. The ambience is great, very relaxing, peaceful and quiet. Our stay was exceptional. So exceptional, we felt at home and that is rare. We felt at home and plan to stay here whenever we visit Jamaica.

It’s a very charming property, beautiful ocean view, very well maintained. Great breakfast options and overlooking the ocean. The property manager Laura was super friendly, very helpful, took care of all our needs. It’s also at a very convenient location, easy walking to Doctor’s cave beach and great restaurants. There is a shortcut path (as long as you are ok with stairs) which makes it closer to these popular places than it appears on Google map. Highly recommend this B&B.

I had a phenomenal five-day, four-night, mid-September visit at Polkerris! Laura and her team really rolled out the red carpet and made me feel so welcome. I had the entire place to myself for my whole visit as no other guests were there, and I felt safe and secure in the gated facility as a solo female traveler. The building and lush grounds were gorgeous, especially the 🏊♀️pool and spacious veranda where I had breakfast every morning. They gave me the opportunity to pick from the menu what I wanted to eat each morning. The Jamaican Blue Mountain ☕️coffee and fresh fruit were absolutely delicious, especially the fresh 🥭mango picked daily from a tree in the backyard. My ground-floor room was convenient, comfortable, and spotless. I enjoyed spectacular views from my window. This b&b is safely walkable to the Hip Strip including shopping, dining, entertainment, a casino, and at least three free 🏖️beaches within minutes. Also, the ground 🚍transportation Laura arranged for me was reliable and safe. Even received a sweet parting 🎁gift when I checked out. I would definitely stay there again!

Definition of a hidden gem. This place is awesome and very conveniently located close to hip strip. Perfect place for those not wanting to spend a fortune on resorts.

My husband and I felt very safe due to the security gates that surround the property. It is very clean and just so beautiful. The staff was absolutely wonderful, and the breakfast was amazing. We loved our stay here and looking forward to going back. If you are looking for a safe, clean, convenient place that feels like home, this is the place to be. They go out of their way to help you and assist you anyway they can. Thank you Polkerris Bed and Breakfast!!!!!! Oh, and the view while you are eating your breakfast is just so calming and breathtaking, along with the great service.

There was nothing overly unique about the property, and as I said in my other review, I overlooked the issues dues to the tremendous staff they employ that are in fact the reason people return.
In my opinion, the owner Laura is out of touch with her guests and chooses only to tolerate them, checking sporadically to let her ownership be known, but does little else.
My feedback would be to provide a couple of small plates or an area where guests can get a knife to cut a cake to celebrate a guests birthday, etc.
if this is in fact a home away from home, allow people a bit more flexibility to feel that they can help themselves to some things they might need while there.
As a world traveller and an experienced Airbnb super host as well as a former restaurant owner etc, I do not blame them for promoting their brand, but I rather appreciate transparency is such cases.
The place is a bit like a fortress, and I do not live there, but by the sounds of how the owner described the outside world to guests, you would get the impression that Jamaica is not a very safe place at all to visit.
Perhaps it is why it is like a museum, most things are there to observe and look at, but you get the impression that it's like that aunt you'd visit where you felt uncomfortable to move or touch anything for fear of corporal punishment, lol
Everything looks nice, but it does lack personality and a feel of true Jamaican style life.

The property is centrally located just a stone’s throw off the Hip Strip— exceptionally comfortable, with a relaxing view of the ocean. Breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully prepared, featuring fresh, all-natural fruits. Polkerris did not disappoint!
The owners and staff were warm, friendly, and kind, making us feel right at home. A special thanks to Mrs. Laura for her generosity in graciously allowing us to receive our grandkids for two hour prior to our checkout time on such short notice due to an unexpected last-minute change in our original plans.

My stay at Polkerris Bed and Breakfast was absolutely amazing!!! The hosts were very accommodating and hospitable. The room was big, clean and very classy. The most enjoyable part of my stay was the delicious breakfast. Every morning I had a plate of sweet, juicy fruits followed by a delectable dish. I’ve never been catered to in such style while on vacation. Most importantly, I felt extremely safe as the property has lots of cameras and access to and from the property was via an electronic system or using our room keys. This ensured that we had no uninvited guests on the property. When I’m visiting Jamaica again I know where I’m going to be staying. Polkerris Bed and Breakfast has easily become my most favorite spot because of the prime location, food, cleanliness, hospitality and safety!

My recent stay at the polkerris BED and BREAKFAST was fantastic! The room was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated, with a comfortable bed that ensured a great night's sleep. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, going above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. I love me some Crystal. She brightened my day each time I saw her. Her sprit so humbling The location was perfect for exploring the city, and the breakfast served each morning was delicious. I highly recommend to anyone visiting Montego Bay.
Last but certainly not least. Laurie and Peter were simply incredible people. We called Laurie almost everyday and not once did she provide bad services. Always was very pleasant and willing to help.

From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel at home. We were welcomed with cold glasses of homemade lemonade and sat on the porch to enjoy the view. We were then given a tour of the room and shared amenities. The pool area is gorgeous, surrounded by flowers, fruit trees and sunshine. The game room offered table tennis, a pool table, air hockey, video games etc.
We stayed in a premium king room. It was large and comfortable. The bathroom was equipped with a bidet. Each day we were offered fresh ice and water for our mini fridge. You can request daily house keeping, although we did not require it. Beach/pool towels are also provided.
Daily breakfast was offered with traditional Jamaican breakfast options and European options as well.
The b&b is away from the noise but only a short walk away. Although, the hill is a bit steep and the stairs can be a challenge. The b&b staff will call you a cab if needed. We walked to Doctor's Cave beach daily...about a 10 minute walk. We paid adult admission and we rented 2 chairs and an umbrella, al costing about $40/day.
There isn't a microwave or kitchen available at the b&b to prepare your own food, so it is good to keep in mind when you are put and about, to eat while you're there and/or being something back that you can prepare in yoir room.
So happy with our stay and we can't wait for our next visit.

Where do I begin; the room was decorated so beautifully and it was so clean, in fact it was spotless. What a wonderful place to stay! My husband and I enjoyed it more than I can say. Laura was very hospitable, knowledgeable, and always available. Charlotte and Crystal who work on the property were so kind and wonderful also. We did not want for anything. This B&B is clean, beautiful, peaceful, safe and the gardens are just stunning. We spoke almost daily to the gardener who was always busy tending to the lovely plants. And the breakfast meals….oh my goodness, so much food and so delicious!!! While we were there we took many short strolls to the beaches ( doctors cave and harmony beach), walked to go shopping, to restaurants, (our favorites; Peppas cool spot and Pelican grill) and a casino. The area is safe with so many friendly people everywhere we went. When needing a ride we called upon Kamar from Clarkes tours. He was an excellent driver and actually stayed nearby all day while visiting Negril. We just felt so safe and happy throughout our entire holiday in Jamaica! Thank you everyone!!

Polkerris is the best place to stay in Montego Bay. Laura, the manager, and all members of the staff are simopy magnificent. They are kind and accommodating with every part of the stay. The daily breakfast is served with a view overlooking the bay and there are a variety of options, including a traditional Jamaican starter. The facilities are clean and the environment is tranquil if you want to hang out and just go for a swim, play pool, etc during a longer stay. The location is a perfect for walking a couple of blocks to restaurants and shops on the Hip Strip. It's only an eight-minute drive to the airport. We'll stay there again when we go back.

First I loved the location! The place is as clean as can be. Very serene. The room was superb AC worked great. The pool does go from 3ft to 8ft. We enjoyed breakfast over looking the ocean. The place is in the perfect spot! This is truly a hidden gem. When coming back I definitely will book again. The only thing I wish is they get a microwave for getting your food in the late night hour. It was a shame I wasted so much .

Lovely bed and breakfast. The daily authentic Jamaican breakfast was the highlight of the stay, and options changed day to day. The owners were delightful. We were greeted with a fresh glass of lemonade, and the fridge was stocked with water. While the alley can be very dark at night, it is relatively safe. Another option is to cut across the sister property and go to the main road that way. The staff were sweet and welcoming. The view from the open and spacious balcony was just fantastic. The garden is beautiful. Overall the stay was excellent!!!
