The food, the food, the food reminded me of a school cafeteria or TV dinner. The best meal we had was at the hibachi and Italian food. The bar tenders were friendly, a few were angry that they had to work. Overall, I had a good trip, but I wouldn't visit this resort again.

Due to the hurricane Melissa airports were closed and there were no accommodations given or offered at the resort. INSTEAD the resort manipulated the situation to gain more money from visitors. We we all given different rates just to stay one or two more days at the resort. There was no empathy, given our situation they even increased the rates for transportation. Night staff didn’t do their jobs for room service I’ve had to ask over 5 times for simple supplies like so or even a hair dryer.

Checking in - the line wasn't long however it took an hour to check in and get to my room.
Dining - there are 11 restaurants on the property but not all are opened daily and its limited availability for reservation, i was only able to reserve one restaurants and the food was undesirable. The buffet had limited daily choices.
Room mini bar did not include alcohol and the drinks at all the bars were watered down.
Activities- therr is nothing to do at hideway, it is truly just room, and bars.
The only saving grace for this hotel is that most of the bar staff is friendly and made the experience worthy. I wont visit the establishment again

The property was beautiful! From the time we entered we were greeted with staff that offered assistance with our bags. We had about a two hour wait until our room was ready. I’m the meantime, my boyfriend and I decided to explore the property to see what there was to look forward to doing. We immediately dinned at the buffet and the food was immaculate every single meal time. Not too much room for improvement aside from telling guests the hours of operations of the buffet. The concierge were constantly hustling for people to book excursions which could be a little overwhelming when relaxation is the ultimate goal but hey, I get it. Overall, Markeeno as well as the other staff at the Aquarius bar, Ruchelle at the giftshop treated us with the utmost respect and kindness. For this, we will definitely return.

Beach view is nice and maintained well. Not enough beach chairs. Buffet food pretty similar everyday and less options. Hotel room needs to check regularly like bathroom sink and mini fridge. We had to change room because of bathroom sink leaking and mini fridge wasn't working or cold. They don't restock cleaning products or room coffee or tea products unless you ask for it. Hotel went black out couple times while we stay there. We had to eat over cooked steak. Some restaurant food or buffet food were super salty. Rice was really dried.

We visited for our wedding anniversary and it was just what we needed - a quiet getaway that allowed us to get great rest and meaningful time together. While there were activities available every day, they did not interfere with our alone time as the property was large enough.

Toni-Ann at Scoops provided memorable service and we went back daily just to interact with her.

The buffet was expansive and the food was tasty. Room service being available 24/7 was a huge benefit since we mostly stayed in.

Overall, we had a great experience and left refreshed. It is evident that they continue to work towards improving the experiences of guests and that great to see!

The food was very good for a resort. They actually served Jamaican cuisines daily which I enjoyed. The pools and beachside were also nice and spacious. The elevators need maintenance, there were multiple days where they were out of service during our stay. There was also a day where the power and water was shut off for several hours which was very inconvenient and unfortunately it stormed during that timeframe as well. Not sure what the cause of the outage was, but an announcement was made prior, so this appeared to be a scheduled thing.

The room was not clean nor up to par. The floor had cracks in the cement and dirt residue buildup in between the tiles. The shower’s nob kept falling off. The room also had small insects crawling in corners/counters. Mosquitoes flying around the room in which I mostly got rid of using my OFF spray. The staff on our floor, 500 level, (we stayed in room 536) was racist and made a comment mentioning “why don’t I just go to KFC, don’t I like and rather that type of food” because I was a Black African American, they assumed I wanted fried chicken. I should have reported the young woman who mentioned that to me. It was three young ladies sitting at the desk when you first get off the elevator on the 500 level. They were all laughing at me as if it was funny but it was rather humiliating. All I asked them for was a microwave in which they all looked at each other as if they were lying and proceeded to make that comment and say no. This incident took place on 9/18 at around 2-2:30pm. The pool side/ beach scenery was very nice. The excursions and tour guide was very nice. The waiters at the restaurants did not provide warm and welcoming service. Most restaurants we wanted to book in advance were not available which was also frustrating. Overall, we did not enjoy our experience in Jamaica at the resort and most likely will never be returning.

The property has a lot of potential, but there were some major drawbacks during our stay.

Check-in was very slow — we eventually had to ask the agents to speed things up by simply collecting IDs from each guest in line. The staff also seemed a bit disorganized, with different employees giving different answers to the same questions.

By early evening (around 5 pm), a strong sewer smell spread across the property, which made the atmosphere unpleasant and hard to ignore.

On the positive side, the food was excellent and the white sand beach was beautiful. Special mention must go to Sharlene from Guest Services, who went above and beyond to make sure our needs were met. Her attentiveness and professionalism really stood out and made a difference in our experience.

I came here hyped for some real Jamaican vibes, and honestly… the beach and property delivered, but the food and service left me shook and very disappointed.

Pros:
•Beach: Beautiful. Sandy, swimmable, straight up paradise.
•Score’s DJ: Talented and dope—club nights were lit.
•Property Grounds: Gorgeous layout, lush landscaping, perfect for strolling.
•Rooms: Modern and comfy, though the paintwork could use some love.

Cons:
•Food: Terrible. Not authentic Jamaican at all. As a Yardie, this was my biggest letdown. Jerk hut, breakfast, Dorado—none of it hit right. How do you mess up bully beef or porridge?!?!

•Staff: Hit or miss. Anthony and Akean (butlers) and Sean (the bartender) were top-notch, personable, and helpful. But some staff looked like they wanted to be anywhere else. Case in point: I asked for towels, and one staffer just stared and when I asked how are you, she said, “I’m tired.” Like… really?

Bottom line:
If you want a stunning beach, a great DJ, and chill grounds, this place is decent. But don’t go expecting real Jamaican food or warm hospitality—those are major misses

Love it, my husband and I really enjoyed our vacation there this summer. The staff was amazing however sometimes they can be a bit harsh. We ordered room service once and we felt like the server who brought it up was a bit rude and snappy. As we were about to tip she walked out and didn’t even answer us when we said thank you. I guess it’s the heat lol. Hopefully next time around we won’t have to experience that because we still think about it today. Food was great but sometimes it felt like it was limited in options! Jerk chicken was great. Room service was a 5/10. If we left our room at 8 for breakfast and spend the entire day on the beach and at the pool until 5 we would come back to our room not serviced as requested. Twice! But we didn’t really care about the utilities as much since we were mostly there for the beach, food and good vibes.

I stayed at Royalton Hideaway from August 4–10, 2025, and this was by far the most disturbing travel experience I have ever had.

When we arrived three hours before check-in, our rooms were empty and ready, yet the front desk agent told us we couldn’t enter unless we gave her one hundred and fifty in cash each directly to her. She then asked for more. This felt like outright extortion.

When I finally got to my room, my key didn’t work. The door opened from the inside to reveal a man smoking marijuana in my bathroom. Minutes later, another man let himself in saying he needed to patch the ceiling. I told him I wasn’t comfortable with anyone entering while I was away, yet they still went in without permission.

My room was connected to a group of loud guests who partied all night, returning at 4 a.m. I complained multiple times, but nothing was done.

Throughout the trip, I was constantly harassed by male staff, including lifeguards who followed me and repeatedly asked for my phone number. On my second-to-last day, a cleaner ran toward me demanding her tip immediately and told me she would wait for me to come back with money.

To top it off, my credit card was skimmed by the gift shop, so a large charge appeared the next day.

This place is unsafe, unprofessional, and completely ruined my trip. I will never return to this property or to Jamaica again.

The property is very nice. A lot of the staff were friendly but there is limited staff as it is such a large resort. Celebrating our honeymoon and selected adults only, wasn’t expecting kids to be everywhere.

Dinning Selection is limited due to the app you have to download and put in your room information once you arrive for any reservation.

Over all it was very nice with always activity to do on or near side the resort.

This resort has the most rudest staff I have ever encounter. Customer service is the worst I’ve ever encountered and I’ve been to 28 countries. The men don’t stop staring and the women have attitudes and mean mugs out of this world. From check in all the way to check out. My room was dirty and had hair everywhere. When I went to ask to have it clean I was met with an attitude and it was never cleaned. Even when you greet them with a smile they just mug you. If you hate your job why apply to work there.

The property is beautiful and the service is top tier. My only concern would be the availability for restaurants. It wasn’t easy to get a reservation unless it was after 9pm.

This property is beautiful however my vacation proved to be very underwhelming.i spent quite a bit of money on this trip as i booked two ocean view rooms.Our ocean view room was really small and the floor had a decent size hole in the tile.the bathroom floor was stained by the sink and the patio door was broken. Maintenance never came to fix it despite report.it was impossible to get into quite a few of the restaurants.we were offered a room change however it was located on a lower floor next to a stinky swamp so we declined.the general staff courtesy was hit or miss and they seemed so unhappy for the most part.Chantel and carine from the seafood and buffet were awesome as well as Deandra and Jacquline from the spa.management weren’t polite when you passed them on property.royalton you can do much better.

Resort teied to out me in a weird room in a back corner that was not upgraded nor looked like the advertisements. The room was half the size of the regular rooms.

I complained to the front office and the lady quickly allowed me to checm a new room and move in.

When i firsg areived at 245 my rokm was not ready was told to come back at 3. Came back at 315 and was told my rok. Was not ready but a note was on my account to just assign me to a new room. This is how i eneded up in a less than satisfactory room.

Food was decent. However at the habachi spot a huge concern for me was cross contamination. The chef put raw chicken on the grull right next to cooked rice and veggies. He then proceeded to use the same utensils on both the cooked rice and raw chicken. This is a huge no-no. Luckily no one from my group got sick. But please conduct a new healthy and safety class for all your kitchen personnel before this becomes the norm.

Let me tell y'all. Please believe the bad reviews you have read. I came with a group of girls and will all had issues with our room that they took over a day to fix. One room the electric outlets didn't work and they kept insuring they would send someone to fix, one room no ac and full of mosquitos, as well as the room views are horrible. As soon as you open your door you see trash and an overgrown site. The beds are smaller than the twin beds in America. Now let's get to how the bars open and close late. This is supposed to be all inclusive but you can't drink all day only when they feel like opening the bar. When I first arrived the lady told me I had to pay her because she was checking me into the room 20 mins early. What kind of scam is this. Then let's get to when my friend checked in everyone stood behind the counter for 20 mins talking without assisting anyone. Also the room purchase came with points which they said they were out of the books so we would have to try to get one another day. Which means we never even got to use the points. Another thing is please be aware a lot of excursions do not pick up from here so you will be paying even more to get transportation to and from everywhere.

This is my third time at the resort and it’s the worst experience i’ve had so far. The check in process was extremely slow even though there wasn’t alot of people at the time. We finally got to our room and everything was nice and clean except for the bathroom, the toilet had tissue in it and the shower wasn’t clean.

Moving over to the restaurants there was limited options available with the fact that every restaurant now needed a reservation besides the buffet and everything else was fully booked but thanks to a wonderful staff, Olivia, she assisted us with our dining experience and she was wonderful. Alex and Yanique also did a terrific job with making our dinner dining experience worthwhile.

The bartenders at the swim up pool bars are terrible, they stare dead in your face and still ignore you when you try to place a drink order. After yelling and waving for a while that’s when they decide to take your order as if you are begging them. I usually tip but if i have to tip after every drink in order to get service, i’m not going to do that.

Overall the property was lovely but the service needs improvement.

This was the worst resort experience we’ve ever had. While the amenities were already underwhelming, the real issue was the shockingly poor service and rude staff. Our room had a termite nest. Oceanview had no view the ocean.
The front desk was impossible to reach by phone - calls went unanswered, and when we went down in person, we saw the phones were simply left on silent and blinking.

We had two serious issues during our stay:

1. Medical Help: We needed Tylenol urgently but were passed around from department to department for over three hours without ever seeing the nurse. Calls repeatedly dropped or were transferred aimlessly. We never got the Tylenol - for a senior guest who badly needed it.

2. Room Problem: Our ceiling was leaking and lights on that wall flickering, and again, after 2.5 hours of waiting and calling, nothing happened even after we were told that maintenance will be coming in 15 mins. We had to go down to reception twice. On our way, we noticed that the room underneath us had broken concrete (possibly the same leak). The first time, the staff literally walked away. The second time, we had to approach from two different directions just to get someone’s attention. Eventually, we were moved but to a room.
The only redeeming aspects were the beautiful beach and the kind housekeeping staff. Otherwise, this was an incredibly frustrating and disappointing stay. Would not return and really regretting not listening to the countless reviews that warned us.

I would never again pay the money I did to stay at this resort. The service is terrible, the food is bland and half of the time the plate was hot while the food was lukewarm. I can say there were a handful of staff who made our stay enjoyable including Raymond, Dominique, Kesreene, and David. Good luck if you miss breakfast - from 10:30 to 12:30 there are no food options as well as from 3 to 6 when the restaurants are transitioning to from breakfast to lunch to dinner. The cafe only had ice cream the first day of our staff and after that it was never restocked. The buffet doesn’t let you take food out. Restaurant service is slow. Expect to wait over an hour for food and they will probably tell you they ran out of butter and dessert like they told us. The pool and beach was nice. Clean (surprisingly).

The hotel was okay. I was not impressed by anything during my trip except for my wonderful bartenders who took care of my group and I almost every night. Thank you specifically to - Raymond, David, and Kesreene for making our trip so much better. My group and I are so happy to have met you three and can't thank you enough for your generosity.
The food was terrible and when you did like something they were \"limited\" and you are unable to get more. You can't take food to-go during the lunch buffet which kind of defeats the purpose of a lunch buffet....
Also, not sure what they expect you to eat during the hours of 10:30-12:30 while they are preparing for lunch or from 3:30-6:30 while they are preparing for dinner. If you plan on sleeping in, you will have to sacrifice missing breakfast.
The jerk hut was always out of something, whether that was sauce, rice, or chicken and chicken did not have any moisture it was like you were going to choke before you finished your meal.
Some staff was very helpful and others were not interested in your reason for being there.
The pool was very nice, but the service around the pool was hard to find. You either had to ask someone or they would never come up to you, which they were going up to other larger groups so I didn't see what made our group so different.
Taj and Zen are my top two restaurants, did not care for any of the others -- food was very bland and staff was rude.
Overall, I will not be returning to this hotel.

Sanoy and Akeem made our stay so stress free and amazing! They were the best! We really enjoyed just relaxing at the Infiniti pool and looking at the beautiful view. The diamond club beach had cabanas for us and it was perfect.

After reading reviews from others, I was skeptical. However, my experience was great. Of course there were a few things that could have been better. But overall, I was pleased. Check in was easy, room was clean with a great view with upgraded ocean view, food okay, reservations were a little difficult, beach was beautiful, chairs by the pool facing the ocean we’re usually full, however other pools were vacant with chairs, we always had towels, and enjoyed the activities at night both family and adult side. Lamoy a worker onsite was very helpful to us. He was very nice and he helped us get reservations at one of the restaurants we wanted to dine at. My best friend and I came together by ourselves and never felt fear or out of place. I have traveled to other 5 star resorts in Jamaica and Hideaway met my expectations with a 4 star.

The vacation started poorly with a 3 hour check in for my entire group. This was due confusion, short staff, miscommunication and constant interruption. We had a total of 6 room changes for various issues and some of the staff were attitudinal. However i will say that after the formal complaint was made, the hotel manager was very respectful and treated us with dignity. His team assited in room changes, booking the restaurants though the most important one we were looking forward to was canceled and therefore the birthday celebration happened in the buffet but was competing with Jamaica night...which was disappointing. Regarding the food, the jamican dishes were on point. I wont speak of any other dishes. I think they are transitioning and i would want to visit again without a group and give them another opportunity to showcase their 5 star qualities.

This property has a false advertisement as far as the adult and kids side being separate. It’s not located in Montego Bay but actually located in Trelawny(45 min from aiaprort) I had multiple issues with my room. My first room had no AC, had to sleep with no air the first night. The second room, the electricity didn’t work and the door was broken. They fixed the issues but they weren’t in a hurry to fix my issues. The food was a 5/10. The resort itself is very beautiful and very clean. It’s nice for a couple’s vacation but I was on a girls trip and didn’t have the best experience. It wasn’t terrible but it wasn’t great

The overall property was magnificent, well kept, and enjoyable. Very welcoming and a lot to do on resort. My only take away from it was the buffet restaurant. Items didn’t taste too fresh and not much of a selection. I always think all closed spaces should have more fans or windows the buffet restaurant and the sports bar was extremely warm. The flys would also help with the mosquitos. Overall I yet would rate the resort as great place and I will return. Lastly my most favorite restaurant was Zenn, the live crew were very enjoyable, and all workers were very polite and friendly.

The property was beautiful, however the staff wasn’t the most attentive. Our butler didn’t provide us with our tote bag. The check-in staff was too busy talking to each other to ask how they could help us. On several occasions I found myself waiting for them to finish talking before I could request something. At one point, I just got tired of waiting and asked if they wanted us to come back. The Diamond Club ocean view suite was not ocean view. After checking in I requested to be moved to an ocean view room and showed them a picture of what I was expecting. I was told they can’t control third party pictures and if I wanted to know what their hotel looked like I couldn’t use Expedia. I then told them I also looked at the rooms in the Marriott Bonvoy app because I am a member. I was told that was not the right place to look either and that I had to look at Royalton’s app to see what their rooms looked like. I was put in a double bed instead of king which was requested. My husband and I had to sleep in separate beds while on vacation. This is the 3rd or 4th Royalton that I have stayed at(all Diamond Club luxury suites) but the 1st time I’ve had this type of experience.

I personally had a great time at the property, staff were nice, and attentive, there isn’t much to complain about other than a few small things like the water temperature in the shower going back and fourth from hot and cold. I do have to single out the employee Nabraska from the margarita bar. She made the overall experience at the property above and beyond and we hope to see her again when we come back. Thank you for the great vacation!

There was a mix up with my reservation. I’ve paid twice. The electricity went out I was suck on the elevator, I paid for a romantic dinner that was nothing like it was advertised. I requested for room decoration for a birthday that was not decorated but went in my room and left my door open. Had a poolside cabana that the jets on the pool did not
