This is a terrible place, completely misrepresented on Expedia. The problems were so many and severe that we did not stay there after going to our room. We worked with Expedia to have the money the hotel had already charged refunded.

The room was clean but the cat urine smell wouldn’t go away. I could smell a very strong Mr Clean odour that I assume, was used in large quantities trying to overpower the cat (or dog) urine smell. I left the window wide open for 5-6+ hours when I checked-in but smell never went away. I had to close it to be able to sleep since it’s on a busy street. I asked to be moved to another room. The request was accepted but there was no other room available on my 1st night and I had to suffer through the night dealing with the strong smell. Then in the morning the cleaning staff advised me the room wouldn’t be ready before 4-5pm. So I went away for my 2nd day (and last) of a short 2 day vacation. When I came back, it was after 7-8pm and I was tired so I opened the window again, and fell asleep in the same room for a nap. I figured: what’s the point of moving all my stuff for this one last night… And nobody followed up with me to give me instructions on how to proceed with the move. (It’s a staffless establishment) so I was disappointed and just dealt with it. The location is great, very close to walk of fame and other attractions and restaurants. Price was fair. I didn’t even know there was a pool, I would have probably tried it.

The property had a feeling of an apartment vibe. It was interesting how many different codes you needed to get to your room. That would probably be the only downside. Communication was super fast and friendly. GREAT location and even better that it was dog friendly. The room was super spacious and had everything we needed - minus a wine opener :)

This place is a bit odd. As far as I can tell it's a small apartment complex that has some rooms rented out as hotel rooms. It wouldn't be bad place to have an extended stay at because there is a small washer and dryer in each room and a kitchenette.

Big downside to this place, it's very noisy. So noisy they provide ear plugs in the room and I used them. The street is right there and there are lots of noisy cars and motorcycles driving by at all hours of the night.

It is nice and clean though. The bed was surprisingly comfortable too and the linens were nice.

The parking situation is also a bit odd. You have to call them ahead is time to reserve one of the few spaces they have available for the hotel guests. It is only $25 a night and it's gated and well lit. You access the garage through a not very obvious gate located on West side of the building. You have to jump out of your car and type the code they give you into the keypad. Luckily this side street isn't too busy, but it is narrow.

Everything is contact free so pay attention to the email and texts they send you ahead of time. You'll need the elevator code to get up to your room level, plus the front door code if you go out on foot. There is no front desk.

Communication with virtual front desk was frustrating. There was a significant delay in getting information. The option to check in early was confusing and didn’t work at all. The pictures of the outside areas didn’t match the actual space in the least. They charge for parking, which is not mentioned at all when you book. However, The room was nice and very clean and centrally located to the Hollywood walk of fame. But the virtual check in was not the best.

It felt more like an apartment building and all the different codes made it difficult. Also the door to the room did not go all the way to the floor so my dog was going to bark at every noise. We ended up changes hotels. The staff was extremely helpful and apologetic about the issues.

Fantastic location, secure property, big kitchen, very comfortable bed. Ideal for a stay of a week or so. Communication was also terrific. TV was in a bit of an odd place in the room where it was not possible to actually sit anywhere and watch the television. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed in room 107. The room was clean and cozy. The bed was comfortable. The room was equipped with more than the basics. It was definitely a studio apartment feel which I loved. If you’re looking for 5 star hotel accommodations, this is not the place for you. I felt safe during my stay even though there is questionable activity in the area.

The kitchenette was not equipped with plates, bowls or utensils but not a deal breaker for me. I did not use the pool but did walk down to it and it was clean as was the area. The outside patio/lounge area is not as photographed on the website, it was pretty dingy and the furniture was sun worn. Not a big deal as I wasn’t there for this amenity.

My room was next to the stairs and at some point was noisy but not a big deal as it did not bother me. Franklin Ave is a busy street and can get noisy so if you’re a light sleeper, this is not an ideal place for you.

The room had a slight mildewy smell to it but not a deal breaker.

The hotel is in close proximity to a lot of things so definitely a bonus.

I used El Cerritos place for my Lyfts because Franklin Ave is impossible.

I took trips to Warner Bros studios and Universal Studios and it didn’t take much time to get to either place. I hopped on the train and at some points rode the bus and the Lime scooters. All easily accessible from this property.

Great hotel and convenient location. Fair warning, this hotel is in the middle of Hollywood, so with that, there’s a lot of traffic, parking sucks, and it can’t be noisy at times. But, you’re nearby a lot of really cool spots in Los Angeles so it’s a worthy trade off. The room was clean and the record player was a nice touch. Had a slight hiccup when I checked in, but it was quickly fixed.

I stayed here for two nights and gave it 3 stars mainly because of the virtual “Front Desk” & check-in and lack of onsite staff. While the idea of a contactless stay sounds convenient, it quickly became frustrating in practice. There was no one available to help with issues, housekeeping, or even basic questions.

At one point, the keypad door lock to our room malfunctioned and locked us out around 1 a.m. for around half an hour leaving us to sit in the hallway for any kind of assistance, The only help available was someone over the phone who said they would “reach out to management and hope they answered.” When I asked how long it might take to resolve, I was told there was no time frame. No one ever came to assist us. Eventually, we managed to get back in ourselves by jiggling the doorknob repeatedly while hearing the lock engage—which didn’t exactly inspire confidence in the room’s security.

The advertised rooftop lounge was also disappointing—just a few chairs on an empty rooftop with no atmosphere. Throughout our entire stay, we didn’t see a single staff member. Every access point (the front door, garage, elevator) required codes, which made the whole experience feel impersonal and off-putting.

It’s unfortunate, because the room itself was great—spacious, clean, and comfortable. With an actual onsite staff presence and better customer support, this could have been a much better stay.

I love these apartments, well located and great value - i think this is my 4th stay. That said this was my first time in a room on the main road side and i massively struggled to sleep it was LOUD. Would also benefit from proper blackout blinds as it gets light away to early with the thin blinds there.

We were looking forward to staying in a 4 star hotel and were severely disappointed. It was a struggle to find the poorly lit entrance, and we never did find a \"Fenix\" sign inside or outside. When we found the entrance it required multiple codes (which we 1st had to locate) to even enter this so-called hotel that is not a hotel at all, just a studio apartment. There was no parking available at all and no front desk to ask, so we had to park illegally just to get our luggage to the room! The room itself was clean, but plain and horribly noisy all night. I feel like I was tricked into paying for something that this was not.

Great communication, clean rooms and common area, one street away from Hollywood Boulevard. Parking is confusing at first and a little tight but overall felt safe. We loved that the entire property was gated with code entry. A little scary to walk back from Hollywood Boulevard in the dark, especially with a four year old but we managed. Pool was too cold for us but would have been great if the weather was warmer! We loved having a washer and dryer as well as a kitchen. The beds were comfortable but there is no real lounging space in the room so when we had food delivered we sat on the beds. We had a great stay and if we ever come back to LA, I would stay here again. Seriously great communication especial considering there is no front desk and all communication is digital. It was a major positive note for us!

The room is clean, tidy with washing machine & dryer in the room, but it is completely different from the picture shown and they refused to switch room for us because they said the picture online are just for reference and they have double checked the room they assigned is correct.
On top of that, things like the shower head and chairs are wobbly. And they have single layered window, so it was super noisy during night because the building is next to the road.

Great and responsive staff via online though, which is an excellent thing.

Overall the room is spacious, clean and liked the amenities of a full kitchen and laundry. The neighborhood is ok, and right next to all the landmarks of Hollywood. However, if you intend to park at their property make sure you reserve parking. Arriving late at night and lugging your luggage from Ovation parking isn't the safest or most convenient at all to walk to the hotel. Still a good place to stay.

Rhe space works great. I was had two seperate reservations in the same week. Both rooms had very comfortable beds, plenty of space, very clean, and useful kitchen. Nive to have a washer/dryer in the bathroom and there was plenty of space. Not crammed at all. Very secure hotel as well. Rooms along the street can be very noisy, especially at night. Ear plugs were provided. It was pretty bad. Our room facing the pool did not have this issue at all. I would stay again, but only if i could secure a pool facing room. It is very close to all that Hollywood has to offer. Just a 4 min walk to CVS , Target, coffee etc. Great location. Parking, if chosen, also secure and useful. Be sure to connect if needed as spaces are limited and must be reserved.

This hotel is not actually an hotel but an apartment that is being rented out. All issues that you may have must be addressed through a phone call and explained then you have to wait for a response. Parking is not as advertised. If you wish to have it which I suggest due to location, you better make sure way ahead of time that you actually have it. Then be prepared to move your car to different spots daily as they adjust for whatever reason. The spots are tight but the large SUV we rented did fit.

The good things are it is clean, safe, and basically a studio apartment. We appreciated the parking (once it was resolved), the washer and dryer and kitchenette area. It is easily walkable to Hollywood Bowl and beats the crowds trying to get out.

We would stay again but wish that hotels.com did not advertise none hotels because it caused some unnecessary issues.

Only downfall is that with cleaning only offered once a week or fee charged floor got really gross, we ran out of toilet paper and had to wash our towels we ended having to buy a broom and more toilet papers would be nice if clean towels and more toilet paper were provided every few days and broom was provided in room :)

Cute room, but we were awakened constantly by loud elevator and vehicle noises all night long (got no sleep). They provided ear plugs, but those don't fix the problem. Next time I would request a room away from the street and not next to the elevator. I.e. NOT rooms 100 and 200 which are next to the elevator and with windows facing the busy street. Otherwise it's a cute, self-service place. Let's call it a funky stay near Hollywood attractions.

Regular access gate had been down and guests were only allowed to use side door. Trash and poor maintenance condition around main gate. Hallway smelled creepy with mold. Room smelled better but lighting was bad, no functional lamps working in the room. Right adjacent to a major roadway with trucks and other through traffic during the nights. Towels are not clean - found a few blonde hair on them and I have dark hair :( No gym here, community room is piled up with furniture. Pool area is badly maintained. Nobody answered my call when I contacted them. Also no staff is on site to assist with anything. Not a very pleasant experience.

An old apartment complex converted into a hotel. Bed is firm and not comfortable. Pillows were awful! Could hear noises throughout the room all night from other guests.

Worst part of this hotel is PARKING! They apparently have reserved spots you can book I don’t know how far in advance? I asked a couple weeks ahead and it was all booked already. We had to walk 15 minutes away and park overnight in a parking garage for $70. So while this hotel may be a good price, be very aware how much you’ll be charged for parking.

Fenix Hotel is a modified apartment complex that is now run as a hotel. The concept is cool, modern, and honestly works great! It is very close to walk of fame and Chinese Theater! There are gates with codes all around the property, it is very safe. The rooms are clean, and well stocked with everything you need and more. Several families that were staying in the hotel were very clearly launching there for days at Universal and Disney. Overall, it’s a fun, unique stay in the heart of Hollywood.

This is a clean upgraded facility. Some rooms are facing busy Franklin Avenue, which was not terribly bad compared to the Hotel itself. The place is loud. Hallway traffic is noisy and it seems the rooms are not well insulated from each other. The contactless system worked fine. I would recommend having all your numbers handy to ease moving around. A perfect location to walk to the Magic Castle.

This would’ve been a great place to stay but the directions to register your car for parking were confusing and the steps were desperate from registration in the app. Also when we returned from a theme park after a long day finally got to the room to ants in the bed. They moved us to a much smaller room. The general manager was supposed to contact us directly to address the parking issues but we never heard from them.

The property is located close to most tourist areas and since it was my first time in LA that was great. The place is nice and the staff is very responsive. The only thing is if you rent a car and would like to park it in the premises, call them as soon as you make a reservation to reserve a parking spot; other wise you have to park about 2 blocks away in another private parking.

Nothing but praise for this hotel. It’s more of an apartment to yourself which I liked. Rooms were cleaned frequently, the pool and rooftop bar were always accessible. Walking distance for the iconic Hollywood landmarks.

The only issue I had was needed a code for everything. Other guests had the same issue. However any issue you can email and they reply back very quickly.

Cannot recommend this place enough.

Make sure you have a charged phone with wifi, or else print your information, there's no one there to help you outside the locked gate, nor is there a person to buzz you in. If you get someone on the phone, they will only send you info to your email or text, not tell you codes on phone, so you need a working phone.

We stayed here last month for 8 nights. We love Hollywood! We have stayed in Hollywood on numerous occasions but never this close by to The Hollywood and Highland centre!

Room was fab, took us a while to remember the codes, but once we knew the main gate and entrance we were fine.
Felt very secure here and the rooms were equipped with washer and dryer, microwave, coffee machine, full sized fridge/freezer, cutlery etc

The only Slight thing, if I really HAD to pick something is that there maybe is not enough hanging space for clothes, but I find this the same in most hotels!

Messaged the hotel on a few occasions to ask questions etc and considering it's a contactless hotel, they are super efficient at replying to emails etc as I waited no more than ten minutes each time I asked anything!

Can't wait to come back here next year thankyou!

This is an apartment complex, not a hotel. The walls are extremely thin and the room was on the first floor so very noisy tenants above us. Sun shined right through windows and the shades were minimal so if you hope to sleep in, good luck.

It was a very nice room. Close to where we wanted to be. Comfy bed, a lot of pillows. Comforter was a little small for the bed. Full-sized refrigerator with freezer, ice tray and a bag of ice, stove, microwave, sink, dishes, plates, bowls, coffee cups/maker, wine glasses, dishwasher, detergent and pods in kitchen. Kitchen faucet changed color depending on the water temperature.
Plenty of towels. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower. Stacked washer and dryer. Record player with various albums (one was missing, and one was too warped to play). Elevator from garage.
We were near an exit door that slammed shut. Parking was limited. High profile vehicles might not fit.
A nice place to stay. I would stay here again.

Great property. Room was very spacious (just like the pictures). Close to public transportation and the Hollywood strip. Very safe because every door has its own code. Always someone walking around to help you if you need it.

It's very near Many things. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. . It would be nice if they gave you a list of places of where you could get things you might need. Like a local grocery or Bodega. We were wanting like water and dinks for the roomor bandaids just .things that may not have been thought of. But it was wonderful!!!

It wasn’t easy to communicate and I was under the impression I would have a full working kitchen. Also, we ran out of toilet paper towels and paper towels and I had to call them each time I needed something. I understand we were going out to eat quite often but there was about 2 pans and no oven use. Everything was quite hard to communicate knowing that I had to call everyone I needed something. Also, they didn’t change the sheets in a week stay that we were there and the trash was only taken out once so we had to continue using Walmart bags as our trash cans. Otherwise, the property itself was nice and the fact that we needed codes for everything made me feel safe, absolutely no one could get onto the premises without all the codes. Overall not bad.

The room was excellent. Having a washer and dryer in the room was extremely convenient. A 5-minute walk to the Walk of Fame was also very convenient. Although checking in without an in-person representative was somewhat challenging, obtaining the necessary codes facilitated a smooth entry. We will definitely be staying here again.

Wonderful family friendly hotel!

Great location, excellent for traveling with our 8-year old since we could have snacks and even meals at the ready. In-unit laundry was amazing as well. It was cold during our visit but we still used the pool. The hotel was convenient for sightseeing and allowed us to have a truly memorable trip. Guest services were very responsive and speedy.

Excellent customer service. Extra blankets brought on the same day that requested them. Bottles of water were restocked, as were toilet rolls and toiletries. We were also offered clean towels, despite having a washer and dryer in the room. I lost my phone on the 2nd day of my stay so didn't have access to my email to retrieve the door codes, however Customer Service were very quick to help me get back in ! Great location, 5 minutes from Hollywood Boulevard and metro line for getting around without a car. We took the metro to and from LAX, Santa Monica and Universal Studios. Would highly recommend!!
