The staff were amazing and a highlight of my stage. Close to tram line but 30-40 minutes by tram to the city Center. The hotel was clean. Not sure what amenities are around the hotel as I did not get an opportunity to explore. Reasonably close to airport. Thanks the staff for a great stay.

Great access, great value

The hotel has great access from/to highway. There are several restaurants nearby, we went to Leon(3 min walk), had mussels and frites….great service, food above average.
It met out needs for our long road trip to Paris from Spain

Enjoy your stay, but avoid the in-house restaurant

We found the hotel accommodations at Holiday Inn Bordeaux Sud-Pessac to be quite fine. We also found the Reception Desk to be quite accommodating and helpful, even though we were surprised that they had no map of Pessac that we might consult for locating nearby restaurants. Consequently, we opted to have dinner at the hotel restaurant Le Bistro 14. That proved to be the undoing of what would have been a flawless stay. Our meal proved to be the worst of all meals that we've had during our 3-week holiday, beginning with tormentingly slow and unprofessional service to food verging on inedible. When you get stale bread in France, you know you've hit bottom.

Arrived late in the evening. Thankfully the front desk is 24 hours. The room was comfortable and clean. The bathroom was a little tired and needed some tlc. Apart from that it was a fantastic location for us and easily found. We will be visting again.

Hotel is a short walk from the tram station for a quick run into Bordeaux.
We had a Hertz car but was told parking is difficult in Bordeaux so we used the tram.
There are also a couple of nice restaurants just a short walk from our Hotel.
Hotel restaurant was not open on the weekend that we stayed.

Short break, wine tours and eating out.

Hotel location is perfect for visiting Bordeaux and the surrounding area, supermarket not far, coffee and nice bakeries in the nearby shopping mall, as well as some good restaurants and fast food outlets for burgers, chicken and pizzas. There is a tram service to the city centre and easily within walking distance of the hotel. Some of the staff are extremely friendly and helpful which is great. It's a little difficult to be served at the lobby bar as it is not always staffed. Understandable, because the hotel is more for business conferences than for staying on holiday. We use the location as much as we could. There is a good range of leaflets about the area and Bordeaux.

Holday Inn with only one staff member??? ALL TRUE

There were two reasons why I chose this hotel specifically. The first was it was dog friendly the second because it had an in house resteraunt.
I was incredibly dissapointed that it was closed on the evening of my stay as it was a bank holiday.This very important piece of information was never mentioned to me. On booking and not to several other guests either I later found out .
I was also utterly amazed that the young lady ( Charlotte ) who checked us in was in fact the only person running the entire hotel single handedly.She was at reception to greet and check everybody in.She was bar lady serving all drink requirements clearing the tables when they were finished. She did all these things with a smile and well without complaint.She was a complete star and should be the manager in my opinion,especially as he had obviously taken the day off.
My companion and myself were forced to find dinner needs outside the hotel and believe me when I say they were grim and expensive.
I am not happy and I shall be informing headoffice of this complaint.
A simple email in advance to tell us about the closed resteraunt would have been the least I would have expected.
After a 500 mile journey all my partner and I were looking forward to was a relaxing evening and a good meal, before we continued our the following day.
Thanks Holiday Inn for ruining that.my visit

This hotel is okay, the staff are rude and generally the quality of the hotel is poor. The breakfast is terrible they run out continually, no scrambled eggs, no pancakes, in the two days I stayed I did not manage to get what I wanted on either day?? As soon as they replenish the eggs, its such a small amount that it runs out again in five miniutes and thisbwas during a quiet period. The service for breakfast is also very poor, the tables were left uncleared and I had to search for a table that had a clean coffee mug. Overall this is not acceptable, I would not stay again and I would advise other travellers to stay elsewhere.

Bordeaux Holiday Inn could do better

There are no facilities to purchase any food other than room service. Could with some vending machines.
I paid local taxs on arrival, 4 euros but on checking out was asked to pay again. I was very disappointed that staff had no communicated that I had already paid. I did not pay again but felt that I had to justify that I had already paid. This was extremely disappointed.
Breakfast lacked choice unless you like cake. There was a lack of fresh fruit and cold meats. The Hoilday Inn's and Express's in Spain are much more equipped for late arrivals with vending machines and breakfast has a lot more choice. Should learn from these as the Bordeaux Holiday Inn could so much more better

Convenient location off the motorway. Area looks like an industrial estate. Hotel seemed empty due to Sunday night. We got there at 9 PM. The restaurant was closed due to weekend. Hence, we had to go out looking for a restaurant at 10 PM in the night. The next morning, the breakfast was a huge disappointment because the food was bland, lacked variety and yet the price for the breakfast was too high. Breakfast didn't look anything like the pictures and the description on their web-site. I researched the hotel before the booking but the reality is totally opposite. The hotel web-site is deceiving the potential customers. This hotel should be reclassified as 3 star. It is a rip-off.

Location-City away from Bordeaux!

The hotel is located in Pessac Although the hotel name says Holiday Inn Bordeaux. You need to take tram C from Gare St Jean stop at Quinconces (abt 15 min) to change to B tram going to France Allouet not Pessac Center. Get off at Camp Metiers. Cross the railway make a left then right to Holiday Inn (abt 1/2 mile).

Great hotel, but server spoiled this review

Very clean and comfortable hotel, friendly and helpful front desk staff. A great buffet breakfast which was spoiled by a non-smiling waiter who told us we couldn't eat out on the patio on a lovely morning at 9:30 am because he had already set the tables for lunch. The food started to be cleared away at 9:50 (breakfast ended at 10 am) although people were still eating. This service was definitely not customer-focused.

Walls are thin since I could hear the person next door cough and his TV in the morning. The hotel serves a lot o f local business as a lunch destination and parking during this time was hard to come by. Also, I feel the breakfast buffet is over priced. Great hotel with excellent staff

I stayed at the Holiday Inn for 2 night and really enjoyed the stay. Buffet breakfast was fantastic. The only thing to fault was the internet connection which seemed to be out of action allot although we were told the hotel was starting a new internet contract with another provide in 2 weeks time. Hotel staff were very accommodating and friendly. Overall I would have no trouble recommending the hotel to anyone.

Stayed for one night whilst travelling. We wanted a cooked breakfast. There was scrambled egg and bacon available in supposedly heated containers. Both the egg and bacon were virtually cold and consequently inedible. Having paid 16 euros each for this breakfast this was very poor value. I did inform a waiter and receptionist of this.

Although the room was clean and comfortable, the hotel service at the weekend was not up to the standard I expected from Holiday Inn. There was no bar service, not even to get a bottle of water. Information from reception regarding where to find a shop or a bar was very poor. Located in an industrial area it was not easy to find water to drink anywhere! Additionally, although this booking was prepaid, the hotel debitted the cost of the stay AGAIN using the card swiped at check in EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD ACKNOWLEDGED THE ROOM WAS PAID FOR !!!! Very disappointed.

Well kept, very comfortable room/hotel. In the industrial zone, but convenient location. Not far from the tram to go into downtown Bordeaux. Quiet. Pleasant and helpful staff.

The only thing that was negative about my stay was the inability to control the room temperature. The blower on the AC did not seem to work in the rooms. I was in 2 rooms and my colleague in another. None of the rooms would cool down adequately. It made for a very stuffy environment. The restaurant downstairs was nice. There are a few other places to eat within walking distance, although mostly fast food.

Holiday Inn Bordeaux Sud-Pessac hotel

The hotel was extremely clean and comfortable and the staff was great. I arrived early hoping to get a room and was accomodated even though it was before the official check-in time. This meant a great deal after an exhausting 7-hour flight! I also had the receptionist arrange for a taxi to the airport the next morning and it arrived right on time as scheduled. Thanks to the friendly and helpful staff, everything went very smoothly and I had a wonderful vacation!

We were in the region for a wedding, not as tourists. My husband is originally from there. We chose this hotel because it was centrally located to the church, reception chateau and the city of Bordeaux, plus near the auto route (but noise was not an issue at all, couldn't hear it). The quality/price was great. Clean, large room. Very friendly staff. I would recommend it for business travel, but not for tourists (unless it's just an overnight stay on a road trip) as there is nothing within walking distances, and the restaurants in the immediate area are chain restaurants.

Wonderful place to stay, great service!

The room was pleasant and very clean, air conditioned and very quiet. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Past experiences in other hotels near the airport have not been so good. We were pleasantly surprised when we found that the restaurant was open till 10:30. The menu at the restaurant was diverse and the meal we had was wonderful. I will definitely stay here again. The only thing that would have made it better was if there was a shuttle to the airport. We had to take a cab ($35 Euros).
