The building itself was beautiful and very convenient for the onward journey back to the uk. A little disappointed in the room - there were 2 downstairs at the end of a corridor and it made it feel a little like a dungeon!! There was quite a lot of noise during the night - a boiler or machine if some description? One lamp didn’t work and the when using the shower the plastic runner at the bottom of the glass panel was non existent so water all over the floor. I updated the reception who were really pleasant and said they would get it looked into. The breakfast was lovely and plentiful and definitely the way to start your day.

Hotel was a beautiful old Chateau. Our Luxe room was on 2nd floor and a lot of stairs and no lift! I also would have expected AC. Being so high up into the eaves the room was very warm. The tea and coffee provision in the room was poor. We were kept awake well after 11pm by music and loud voices in the bar, amd on the terrace, even though we were told the bar closed at 10.

Not particularly cheap but if you are heading back from Alps or south of France and want somewhere close to tunnel it’s a brilliant option

Absolutely stunning property! The staff were super friendly too and very helpful. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. Large bathroom and also a balcony overlooking the grounds.
We didn’t eat here but the menu looked amazing. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely return!

Hotel is lovely, we were kindly given a compl upgrade as the room we had booked was so hot and this was very much appreciated.
We went for a swim in the pool which was very nice although pool area could've provided towels but didn't. The room was nice but the decor in the other build g was a bit rundown. Overall though it's a wonderful place for a stopover either going into France or back to le shuttle. Would definitely stay again next time.

Chateau Tilques is in a lovely setting and easy to find. Our Deluxe room was in the chateau and was spacious and comfortable with a view of the lawns from a large window. The Comfort rooms are separate from the main building, as is the dining room and pool.
We were slightly irritated that although we had booked dinner and had it confirmed via Expedia, on arrival we were told the time we had booked was not available.
The reception staff were apologetic and tried to help but it was an unfortunate start to our stay.
The bar and lounge were comfortable and nicely furnished but staff were hard to find and we waited several minutes for a drink.
Dinner and breakfast were ok and the staff were polite.
The pool area was clean and pleasant with. towels supplied.
There was a bird scarer going off every few minutes nearby, which stopped at night, but might disturb some people.
Overall an enjoyable stay, but slightly below our expectations.

French family adventures with the mad spaniel

Lovely place for an overnight stop from the tunnel. Quad family room is perfect as mezzanine space for the teens and lovely grounds to excercise the dog, with bowls and bed provided. Swimming pool open until 10.30pm and lovely and warm - ideal after a long drive. Restaurant looked gorgeous but fully booked, so top tip - book up. We will be back - thank you.

Charming hotel, very close to Saint Omer and only half an hour away from Calais. Quiet rooms with views onto landscaped lawns. The decor is a little dated with a few scratches, but otherwise everything was clean and tidy. Breakfast buffet (€18) is served in an adjacent converted building. Ample parking and dog friendly too.

Was disappointed to find out that the pool was out of service due to maintenance. Understand that this is required from time to time, but would have been nice to be informed by the hotel in advance and not upon arrival. Kids were disappointed.
Also, all 4 EV chargers were not working. Again, this should have been communicated in advance.
Bill from restaurant dinner was incorrectly added up, had to have it checked and then it was recalculated.
Room and view was nice, but overall was a disappointing stay.

Family weekend Away

I have stayed here regularly over the years, but havent been since befoe Covid hit. The hotel has been updated since my last visit and the rooms particularly have benefited from the makeover. The lounge and bar and new Orangery are welcoming spaces.

The restaurant has also had a similar makeover, the staff were attentive and friendly. Our mains coukd have done with being hotter when they arrived, but that was our only criticism.

A charming place to stay

This is a charming converted chateau. close to Saint-Omer and the A26, and not far from Calais and the Channel Tunnel. The property is in a very quiet rural location, with ample parking. Staff were most helpful and the rooms have character. The restaurant is not open on Sundays but delicious snacks are available from the bar.

Disappointing needs more customer care

Information from Hotels.com at time of booking was incorrect both on the price of a bottle of Champagne upon arrival (more than quoted) and Hotels.com said the restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday evening, the hotel is actually short staffed on both those days so only a very few spaces, it was however fully booked, so on a 3 night stay we had to leave the hotel and find a local restaurant for 2 of the 3 nights, considered this very poor.
The restaurant food isnt that well presented, I had fillet steak and it was very tough! Breakfast was a constant quest asking for the coffee pot to be re filled or for more scrambled egg. This morning a new batch of scrambled egg arrived which was stone cold. The restaurant is the most disappointing aspectn of the hotel and the reason we would never book here again.

Hotel needs to be more customer care focussed in my view.

The property and staff were lovely and it was ideal for our dogs with easily accessible walking areas and dog beds and bowl provided. Plus a ground floor room.
The dining room was attractive, modern and comfortable with lovely views of the grounds.
HOWEVER- The standard and quality of the food was poor and not what one would expect at such a nice hotel.
We would stay at the hotel again but would not eat in the restaurant. As it was, we decided to give the breakfast a miss!

Grounds are stunning but as others have said service was a big let down.

Had to wait ages to check in as no one on desk. Same happened later at the bar. We almost gave up ordering a drink.

The room seemed quite nice at first but the carpet was absolutely disgusting and we kept our socks and shoes on the whole time!

Food in restaurant was ok, nothing special. Service was better in the restaurant than in the hotel.

We used this hotel as an overnight stop on the way south but won’t be returning.

The hotel is lovely and the staff were excellent, sadly the restaurant was fully booked and we weren't aware we had to book in advance. It seems odd the restaurant doesn't have enough spaces to match the accommodation. We had to walk a couple of miles up the road to get food in heavy rain which after travelling from England for 9 hours to get to the hotel was disappointing. Aside from this everything else about the hotel was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel but beware you need to book your space in the restaurant in advance if you want an evening meal. Expedia doesn't tell you this.

Lovely stay at this hotel. Chose primarily due to its proximity to Dunkirk Terminal as a stop off on our return to UK. Chateau style was delightful. Welcomed by the receptionist and shown amenities which includes a pool,restaurant and bar. Room was small but clean and nicely decorated. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant. I would stay again.

The room was small, and stuffy but clean, with no place to put a luggage, perhaps it is suitable if you happen to be travelling with a cabin luggage.
Breakfast was good. There was an ample number of car charging station on site and you can use them at no charge. Parking was free of charge.
The hot water kettle was not demountable one, and every time you want to empty it, you will need to unplug it and replug it again and this was inconvenient.

We arrived at 16:25 after travelling 8 hrs and went to check in which was ok. The young receptionist was brilliant. We then asked if they could book the restaurant for 19:30 to be told they were fully booked and could not fit us in. After much discussion they finally called the restaurant and we were told by the now rude and unhelpful older member of staff that we could go at 21:45. Again much discussion as to how we weren’t told that we needed to book in advance they told us they were short staffed hence no table. I said that it’s not realistic to expect us to wait till then to eat and could they recommend at restaurant nearby. Again no proactivity and after 3 further visits to reception there was no progress on finding us somewhere to eat and I was given a leaflet to try myself and find a restaurant. Meanwhile I spent another 2 visits trying to find out why the central heating didn’t work to be told that they controlled the heating from reception and they promised to put the heating on. Guess what it never came on at all during our stay and despite calling reception on multiple occasions no one answered the phone in the evening

Delusions of grandeur.

The hotel itself seemed fine with clean comfortable rooms.

The restaurant however is very dissapointing with a complete lack of personable service. Very slow response times with us waiting 30 minutes to even order a drink. They seemed so consumed with trying to demonstrate that they belong within the ranks of fine dining establishments that they completely neglect the basic needs of the customer.

The menu is also disappointing with poorly constructed dishes lacking identity all of which were poorly executed.

The only thing worth considering is the cheese board, but how hard can that be...

The main issue though is the 'snooty' approach to service and lack of genuine attempt to make the customer feel welcome and looked after.. the basics.

Very disappointing indeed.

Clearly a restaurant that needs to go back to basics and realign its efforts towards a simple menu which is delivered well and ina timely manner.

Customers should not need to try and attract the waiter/waitress attention half a dozen times, to the be told to wait... deradful.

A real find and an absolute treat.

Amazing hotel. We were wary having read some reviews (after we'd booked) especially regarding the friendliness of the staff and the language barrier. Our French is nowhere near good enough and we thought we'd struggle. We needn't have worried and should have paid more attention to the positive reviews. The hotel staff were incredibly polite and super friendly, they couldn't have done enough and even helped with our poor attempt at speaking their language.

As for the hotel, the room was lovely. Everything you'd hope for from an historic chateau. It was beautifully decorated, spacious, clean and very comfortable. We had tea and coffee making facilities and bottled water every day. The pool was beautiful and very welcoming after our morning run. There were sun loungers around the pool and on a small patio area so you can enjoy the afternoon sun.

The hotel restaurant looked lovely but we didn't plan ahead so they were fully booked. We ate locally at Chez Ninie and can definitely recommend it. Other than that, you would need to go into St Omer for dinner, although you are spoiled for choice in the centre.

This is a superb hotel. We can't really fault it. We will definitely be returning.

Fabulous hotel, just a bit hot!

What an absolutely beautiful Chateau. The service was first rate from reception to restaurant. The rooms were a bit on the small side but beautifully decorated. The only thing that would improve them would be a fab in the room. It wasn’t overly hot outside but the rooms were baking. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

The property is isolated. I booked a room. I received a message to book the restaurant which was the only reason we were going. I was told it was full. The room was non-refundable. The reception told me they would send a list of close by restaurants. They did not.
My wife and I had stayed here before and found the staff responsiveness to be poor. We elected not to stay and accepted that we would lose the money. Never again.

Bar the food, a bit of a dissappointment

A ..beautiful chateau in a gorgeous setting.
We chose a traditional chateau room - there is no doubt our room was overdue renovation but was comfortable enough.
We used the swimming pool and this facility was an important reason for selecting this hotel. Sadly the pool was a huge dissappointment and in particular the changing facilities which were not clean or in good repair and impractical to use with nowhere to put clothes in the shower room except on the wet floor and the showers were either scolding hot or cold.
All that said, the food on the restaurant was really very good and reasonably priced.
We stayed here a couple of times many years ago ...it was in better condition then.

We booked last minute on our way back to the UK. The rooms was comfortable, clean and had easy access which was required. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The menu is limited. Unfortunately our food took a long time to come out and we had to ask where it was. I think it had been forgotten as other who ordered after us were receiving their food and finishing while we waited. Once we had asked it was very quick to come out. The food was lovely but a bit pricey. The staff were very nice.

Great location and handy for the tunnel which is only 30 minutes or so away. Unfortunately when we arrived at 10pm room was found not to have been made up and dirty towels and dirty shower were evident, hairs in sink, no water in room as before etc.

Just a single receptionist on duty who did her best to make up the bed and find some new towels. But shower was left dirty and we had to try and clean before using. Bar area appeared deserted as during first visit so difficult to get a drink while we waited the 40 minutes it took to find and put on sheets.

A great find

The hotel was somewhere we found at the last minute, but we couldn't have found better if we'd searched for weeks. It's a beautiful property, with friendly and helpful staff. Our rooms were great (perhaps a little hot, but the weather was unusually warm for the time of year. We had a delicious dinner (unfortunately, we didn't have time for breakfast) and if we were in the France again, we wouldn't hesitate to book another stay with a Najeti hotel. We'd just remember to pack swimming costumes next time!

All’s well that ends well

It started out with difficulty but ended well. The restaurant was amazing for dinner- beautiful outside setting and very good quality food.
The pool was good. The room on the second night was spacious and comfortable.

Best option in St. Omer

Probably the best choice to stay around St. Omer. Spacious rooms and lovely grounds. You must remember to lock your room, though - the door locks are not self-locking, which you would expect in this day and age.

This is our second visit. Hotel restaurant food excellent. Staff very friendly. Swimming pool perfect. Surrounding area lovely to walk round. Bed mattresses and pillows in the Chateau were awful. Hence, very bad nights sleep. When we stayed previously in the Pavilion, the beds were superior.

A very short shopping break in Calais

We only stayed one night at Chateau Tilques. Our room although not spacious was nice. The reception rooms in the hotel are lovely and welcoming. Our dinner was absolutely delicious.

First time we've stayed in the newer part of the hotel and it is definitely worth the extra cost if a room is available. Rooms are clean well equipped and spacious. You might get the added bonus of a peacock greeting you at the window. Don't forget to book dinner you can't be assured of a table even if you are a resident and although Receptionist will suggest restaurants in St Omer it's a fair drive and mesns driver can't enjoy a drink .
