Everything about the hotel was great until I noticed there was mold all over the ceiling in the shower. All they offered was to cover the resort fee. After paying $189 for a one night stay, I wouldn’t come back.

There was an issue with the software that allows the keys to unlock the rooms. I had to wait for security to let me into my room which was a 30+ minute wait each time. My room was changed to a less disireable location, lost my view of the mountains. It was a bummer.

the pool was closed the majority of the time i was there. The sharks are kept in an inhumanely small tank for the entertainment of guests. The fish do not deserve to be so poorly treated. The room had no hand soap, lotion, or body wash in the containers mounted to the wall. There was crusty, hairy rags left behind in our showers. I can tell most things in the room were not even wiped down before we came. The lobby area is insanely loud and dystopian. There are no employees to be found anywhere. People are just plugged into their slot machines and are drinking and smoking. Everything was filthy. This huge hotel that boasts of having the largest gold nugget only hires people to clean that don't have solid immigration papers and they pay them so poorly! The CEO and share holders are clearly making a ton of money here and they provide low value, mistreat animals, abuse immigrants, and try to exploit people with loose morals to make their own pockets more padded. DONT STAY HERE.

Woyld be good to know ahead that the Rush Tower has noise from Fremont Street Experience bands pounding until 2 am. Earplugs were provided but weren't very helpful. Thankfully my husband doesn't hear well without hearing aids, and we were so tired we were able to get to sleep anyway!

We arrived exhausted and paid for early check-in expecting a smooth start. Instead, everything unraveled.

First, we were given the wrong room. After going back to the front desk, we were sent to another room that was completely unclean, trash everywhere and clearly not ready. We waited 45 minutes for staff. No one came. After calling again, we were told help was “on the way.” Still, no one showed.

At that point, we had to return to the front desk again. A manager eventually moved us to a better room, which we appreciate, but it doesn’t excuse the complete lack of urgency, communication, and accountability.

Other guests nearby said they experienced similar issues, which makes this feel like a pattern, not a one-off.

The shark tank, one of the main reasons we booked, was empty, which was a huge disappointment.

Positives: Claim Jumper was great for breakfast, Saltgrass Steakhouse was excellent, and Vic & Anthony’s is worth visiting. Erin at checkout was kind and removed over $200 in resort fees, which we appreciated.

But one helpful employee and good food don’t make up for a poor overall experience.

In a city like Vegas, there are too many better options. We wouldn’t return.

The GN hotel and casino was a great stay on our road trip from Texas to the California Giant Sequoia National Forest. Route 66, Vegas (baby)Golden Nugget, The Grand Canyon, 4 Corners and Window Rock Arizona and back home.
The Golden Nugget casino has pretty much everything you need. The PLUS, ********** 10 ⭐️- The Golden Nugget is pet friendly.

It was fun to stay on Fremont! The hotel was what we expected. The pool was closed our first day due to the shark tank having some issues. But it felt safe, and well maintained except our shower wasn’t draining. When they came to fix it while we were gone (as we had asked) they left the shower knobs off and the parts there. We had to call to ask to be switched rooms. It would have been nice if they had addressed the situation and not just left it there.
The shark tank was pretty cool, but the pool area was a lot smaller than the pictures.
Location wise I was happy. We could easily walk everywhere and Lyft to the Strip.

We chose to stay here for the pool, and unfortunately during our stay the pool was closed—the 1st night because of maintenance, and the second day the pool was closed again due to biohazard conditions. Did pay an upgrade fee to be able to check in early. Happy with early check-in accommodation. Our room was very clean.

Wasn't bad. The pool was closed the first day and cool fish tanks were down our entire stay which was sad.
Rooms were good, except shower could use updating and didn't drain well.
Great place to stay on Fremont Street. Though we wished we hadn't rented a car and just used shuttles, taxis, and whatnot instead.
Check shops on Fremont Street for less expensive items, food, and souvenirs

The room was clean and basically well appointed. Everything was there. They charge a “resort fee” but also charge you for extra coffee if you run out of the four they provide free. It does seem silly and nickel and dime for a big casino/hotel, but that is what Vegas seems to be about nowadays.
The pool was closed for two days due to a leak of some kind. They waived the resort fee for one day. When did that “resort fee” start to be acceptable anyway?

We usually stay on the new strip, but the golden nugget was actually better than what I expected. Fremont was such an easy access and the tables were great. Even with everything loud and crazy, we were able to catch some Zzzs. The restroom needs an upgrade, but we would stay again. Overall.. great hotel.

Pool was closed the only pool day we had. Requested neighbouring rooms and were told we were given neighbouring rooms but they were across from each other. Family next door had the same problem. Rave outside next door blasting until 2 am. Filming happening in the casino which was very off putting, no one told us this would be happening during our stay, and no one told us about the rave next door either. Not a great overall experience.

The location of the hotel is great. All of the staff that I interacted with always seemed busy/overwhelemed. We booked two rooms and one of them was dirtier than the other. We had to clean the tub before using it.

The pool closed way too early. We didn’t even get to go to the pool cause it was closed. It was beautiful. Would’ve loved to go swimming when we stayed one night but everything was great. It was in the perfect area for us to go to Fremont Street and walk around. It was a beautiful property.

It was fine but one main reason we stayed was for the pool and the pool was closed on Saturday for maintenance. Had to pay $50 pp to go the Circa pool and Golden Nugget didn’t do anything to compensate for their lack of having an open pool which is their biggest draw.

We arrived in town very late, around 2am. We came to Vegas for doctors visits as we live in rural Nevada. Check in was easy through the kiosk. From the kiosk it asked if we wanted upgrade. I was excited about an upgrade. HOWEVER, we got to the room and the tub had puke and there was cigarette ashes in the sink. If it wasn’t for the fact that my husband and daughter walked in and passed out immediately from exhaustion I would have packed up and left right then. I let my family sleep till around 7am. We contacted Expedia and the front desk. Showing them the pictures. They charged us for the night we stayed, BUT they did refund us for the other days we were going to stay. So…over all…it’s a no.

I gave an overall 2stars because of all the amenities inside and right outside the doors. The other reason I gave a 2star because the reception at the desk refunded me my resort fee after I asked about being refunded for the room. As soon as you walk in the staff will hound down about attending a 1.5hrs time share presentation for the Hilton. It was very annoying to be asked 9 times after clearly saying no thank you and we were asked every time we walked through that entrance way. They lack staff so of course the staff can’t be their best because they’re overwhelmed. Literally one staff member trying to help 6 different parties at the self check-in kiosks and no one at the check in desk. Literally one person at the “VIP” desk (if that’s what you want to call it) and that person continuously has a long line so of course they just have to work fast not welcoming or extra accommodative. The room was dusty; it disturbed my allergies. The bath tub was visibly dirty, towels were not white and the bathroom had hair from the previous stayers so that all instantly gave eeeehhyuck!! The bathroom is extremely small; basically a small person’s size. The drawers were broke on the tv stand; the 2 top drawers were open when we walked in and didn’t stay closed. Thank God my husband and I only booked the room at the end of our vacay to sit our luggage in while we hung out on freemont street waiting for our flight. We only needed the room for 10hrs but we ended leaving early. Don’t recommend!

From time we checked in- which was early & we got to get in, our trip was perfect at Nugget. We were there for a BDay which they helped facilitate. The rooms were clean and beds comfy. Considering we were on Fremont- we heard no noise and we slept great. We had dinner in Steakhouse there- awesome. Staff helpful with everything. Cant say enough about the very cool pool area- however we did go early to get in line to get in. They did control crowds which was good. Shark tank is sooo great. We will be going back again & staying there.

Clean room. Had to check out early and couldn’t get the kiosk to check me out. Tried to wait for the desk to help, but they took forever with another guest and I had to leave for my ride. Tried to call someone between my flights and couldn’t get the automated system to let me talk to an actual person. As a result, they left me checked in for an extra day. I should have at least been able to get their ridiculous resort fee back for the extra night.

Perfect location to walk out at center stage on Fremont Street
Reasonable prices for Uber taxi or lift to get around if not walking distance. The hotel itself was awesome, very clean, friendly staff and helpful.
The only thing I didn't like was my key card can only get me toy floor or lobby, my son was on the 21st floor we were on the 15th floor
Having to go all the way down to the lobby to all the way back up to either floor was a pain in the ass.

The bad:

I would return but would probably not stay in the Carson tower again. It’s older, which I don’t have a problem with, it was surface clean but the bathroom left a little to be desired. The bathtub had a some fair sized chinks of enamel out of it and was rusty where the enamel was missing. It also had other various rust spots. The spout looked like it was falling off the wall. Every time I turned the shower off I thought I was going to break the spout off the wall. I did mention it to front staff, they had no other room to move is to. They gave a $50 drink voucher instead which I never used, as I don’t drink that much. I would have preferred a discount in my room, to me that would have been the appropriate thing to do.

The good:
I really enjoyed the pool area. The loungers were clean and comfortable. The pool was a nice pool to swim in and was clean. The casino was nice. We only ate in one restaurant but that was good. I wish we had ate there more often actually. The hotel was clean and kept in good shape. We had a late flight so we were able hang out at the pool for the day and store our bags until we had to leave for our flight. I thought that was a great idea for people that have later flights and no where to go. I didn’t spend a lot of time in the casino but everything looked good and flowed nicely. The hotel had things to do and was easy to get around. Great location, So great to be right in Fremont street. All staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

Liked pool areas.. never enough chairs as always at any pool and cushions were well used, but no complaints!

You no longer have an option of checking in with a staff member you do it as self service at a kiosk. Not okay at all. The singular staff member that is in that area is not friendly or helpful. Valet Parking staff were great. Dined at Salt Grass and Chart House both were good. Room was comfortable. Wouldn’t stay again based solely on the Kiosk and self service for check in and out. Have stayed for years, but will find another facility moving forward.

The tub had sand in it. We are in the desert where did the sand come from?! The shower handles did not work properly however the water pressure was good. I usually stay in the rush tower . Moving forward I will pay the extra money for the rush towers. I was disappointed

Second time I have stayed at this hotel with both times having a shower that does not drain, did not get our room cleaned once during a 3 day stay while still being charged $52 a day resort fee and the pungent smell of seafood reeks in the corridors to the main lobby in Carson Tower. I will not being staying again during our annual family trips!

My first stay here was in the gold tower which was worth the upgrade and has mini fridges and a microwave and the rooms are very nice and comfortable and what you would expect from Vegas. My second stay was in the Carson tower and it was so horrible. The room had almost every maintenance issue you can think of including broken security latch and loud AC. Staff was good at responding to my complaints. The pool was amazing and very fun without being too crazy. The are is very loud though, hotel provides ear plugs in every room.
