I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. My room was very spacious and clean and had a gorgeous view of the sea. Oldtown area was so nice to walk about in. I would definitely stay again.

Excellent accomodation just fringing the old town, friendly staff, I also liked the request by the property to keep noise levels low after 10pm , we were beach front sea view with wonderful views , yes there is a road but never heard in rooms of an evening, but to be honest it's a 10 k an hour polocie and pedestrians are priorities, yes would thoroughly recommend,

Ashtray on balcony still had cigarette butts in. There were only 4 coat hangers, and one of them was on the cupboard shelf broken, do we only had 3 that we could use. The mattress had bad stains on.
We told reception about fridge, coat hangers and cigarette butts, they did empty ashtray but not clean it.

Everything was lovely as always, the only thing was the drain smell in the bathroom but it wasnt there all the time. It didnt put us off booking again and we will be back at Christmas, stayed 3 times this year, its good value for money and easy access to the old town which we love and not too far to go to new town for a night of entertainment.

The staff were very helpful. The only thing I didn't like were the bolster pillows. I am used to sleeping on flat pillows and these were far too high for me. I did ask at reception for an alternative pillow but they didn't have any so I had to buy one. Also a few hooks by the door to hang coats and bags etc would be helpful. Other than those 2 small things the hotel was very good and represented value for money. Hotel in a good location and they also offered a shuttle service which you could book at the hotel. They ask you to check in online which I couldn't do, but no problem checking in on arrival. Overall a very pleasant hotel. Would go again.

Great hotel on the beach but needs a little TLC and attention to detail in areas. Basics were clean but I found alot of areas in the room had not been clean for a while, skirting boards and corners of the room were dusty and dirty. Stuff still under the bed from previous guests. Towel were stained and old and need replacing. I think the cleaning handover needs to be checked/better. Staff are friendly enough though I did have a door issue which could have resulted in me being locked in the room which I ended up fixing myself as I couldn't wait any longer after not promise of anyone coming. Also had patio doors that didn't close properly or lock. Location is great

Another amazing stay. This is the second time I have stayed here in a 4 week period. The accommodation is perfect, staff are very friendly and helpful. Perfect location. Free safe, iron, ironing board, kettle, cups and mini fridge. Super clean, no issues. Highly recommend a sea view room.

We had a great 3 night stay at the Mar Blau. Had a wonderful welcome from Tony who was knowledgeable about the local area. He tried to accommodate us with a room swap to a sea view but it wasn't possible and we were given room 806, the attic room which had a town view.

First time staying in The Mar Blau, although we knew of the hotel and had often looked up and envied the guests sitting on their balconies with an unrestricted view of the sea. it is a two star hotel as it has no pool/gym etc etc but it is 5 star friendly/clean/comfy and in a great location in the old town. There are a number of very good café/ restaurants on the door step.

Taking into account this was officially a 2 star hotel id say it was excellent for it's category and could well grade higher. It was basic but had an excellent shower which some 4 stars struggle with. It was clean, excellent location a few steps from the old town yet little outside noise. Sea view was worth every penny. Room had TV, hairdryer inside. Clean and very friendly reception staff.

The major thing that lets this place down massively is the outside noise that is not dampened by the sliding door to the balcony. Constantly woken up for 3 nights i was their due to the road it is situated on which has constant buses , deliveries. On the first night at 3am i was kept up with a big truck blast washing the pavement.
Maybe in the future they reinforced the glass sliding door and make the room sound proof.

Things were in walking distances. Lots of restaurants to choose from. Plenty of bars around the area. Locals are very friendly. Not many activities to do die to it being a closed season. Manage to find things to do like a tour guide, a long walk to the la Cruz and exploring all the side streets finding restaurants and bars. Tapas alley was great, supper busy especially on a weekend plus it was tapas fest. Weather was warm and cool. Would visit again as there was more to explore.

Just returned from a week at Mar Blau....Room 701 overlooking the beach really big balcony with great views...Staff were great obviously no food option but Urban gastro bar nxt food was fine 3 mins walk to all the bars in the Old Town...just a shame that they dont open the bar thats in the Hotel......wud deffo book again but make sure to get a seaview not a city few at the back

We have stayed here before and the reason we came back is because it is very clean, there is a balcony facing the beach, the staff are lovely and very helpful and the apartments are very close to shops, restaurants and pubs. They don’t charge for the safe and they lend you an iron for free. It’s perfect.

I booked weeks in advance asking for a room on the 5, 6 or 7 floor knowing that the views would be fantastic.. But I got was a room on the 3rd floor with a sea view but with a row of trees blocking most of the sea view.. If I book and pay in advance I expect what I asked for unless the rooms are already booked and I am informed then I can decide whether my stay will be what I expect and not was I was given by the hotel..
