Staff refused to deal with screaming kids and loud music in room next to us. Said they would send security to speak with them, but nothing changed. Finally quieted down at 4am. No hot tub, no pool. The whole reason we booked this hotel was for the hot tub. Waste of time amd money. They said it was broken, but i believe they shut it down due to the large youth event they jad going on. Will not go there again.

Additionally, the cleanliness of the room was below expectations - there were visible stains in the bathroom, on the carpet and on the box springs.

The flyer provided at check-in listed operating hours for various facilities, but when we brought our son to the ice rink on Sunday, we were informed that it closed three hours earlier that stated. When we asked staff about the discrepancy, there was little concern or explanation, and no effort was made to resolve the issue.
Overall, the lack of attention to both room quality and guest service left us disappointed, and we do not plan to stay here again.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at the carousel. The room was nice and quiet. We could see the beach while laying in bed, which was great since the weather was too cold to be outside for long. They also had the ice skating rink, a big indoor pool area and a hot tub. I highly recommend staying at the carousel!

I was disappointed that we had to walk outside in the cold to get to our room and to the indoor pool. I also felt that the pool could've been warmer and the age limit on the hot tub was not enforced, so there was plenty of small children in the hot tub

Staff was friendly. Heat in room was not working upon arrival. Maintenance came and fixed the problem within an hour. Room was a bit rundown and the tub had a nasty rust stain. The maintenance man said they are in the process of renovating but hadn't gotten to our room yet.

This was first time I ever stayed down in OC and I booked room for family for my boyfriend’s birthday and the place was horrible. Kids running around everywhere jumping on elevators by themselves no supervision staff did not say anything. There was only 1 elevator for ocean front way and I can’t imagine how it is in summer it was beyond crowded this past weekend and had to wait for elevators forever! The Refrigerator was sweating it wasn’t cooling the bathroom had mold in ceiling . Pool area had kids running around and a lot of children under the age of 16 were in there and staff didn’t. Say a word, a boy that was around I would say 14 15 weighed at least 100 pounds did cannon ball in the hot tub! There was no towels in pool area and I went to front desk to ask for some and the lady at front desk was ignorant and told me go pool and when I get done to come back to front desk for towels! I said are u serious we’re suppose to run back out here soaking wet with it already being cold in there! I DONT recommend the motel at all! I checked out and girl at check out I told her everything she was gonna send it to manager and she was in meeting and she would call me in 20 minutes. I waited. Now it’s Monday I had to call into the motel because I hadn’t heard from her. It was Lisa that was suppose to call me. Well I call and guess who answered Lisa and I let her have it. I said well I’m glad u think of your customers! I guess you don’t care about what customer complains about your motel

Balcony view was cut in half by a post and when we tried to switch rooms we were told they were sold out which didn’t quite match the parking lot activity. The room has central air set for 72 and it got warm in there. The air unit had a constant high pitch ringing nose. The carpets were wrinkly and bathroom tub stopper appeared to be moldy.

Just as a matter of common courtesy, it would have been nice to be informed that the ice hokey events would be the last night and day. I would have changed our reservations to a few days before or later as we were there to rest and reflect on our 60th. Room 462 was not good. Had mold in the shower ceiling. Our fridge was broken and smelled terrible. The staff did respond and swap it out quickly. There was a scent of urine in the room that we couldn’t figure out or pin down. But beach front view is always great. Staff was friendly. I was down at Salisbury University for my 50th College Graduation reunion this past weekend. As an extra special treat for the event, my wife and I decided to stay at the Carousel Hotel on Friday evening, October 10, 2025. Part of the reason for the stay was that we had stayed there 47 years earlier on October 7, 1978, and we have always regarded the Carousel as special.
Unfortunately, that is no longer the case, we had a terrible experience on our Friday evening stay. Because of the reunion we checked in around 8 p.m. The check-in was easy and parking was easy. When we went to our room the temperature was 57 degrees with the air conditioning pumping away. I immediately set the thermostat to 72 but the AC continued to blow cold air. My wife and I then went to the front desk and we literally begged to be changed to another room. We were informed that all rooms were under central air and our only option was to turn off the air blower and use a heater that was in the room. My wife and I went back up and indeed there were two radiator heaters in the closet which we immediately plugged in after turning off the fan. We instantly blew a circuit and the room was plunged into darkness. We went back down and reported this new problem and we were told we should only have used one heater. I am not sure how we were to know this since there were two heaters in the room, and the room was very cold.

We paid for a an oceanfront room on a weekday night. The view was spectacular from our balcony and the beach and outdoor properties were worth the stay however the indoor pool and hot tub need renovating as do the rooms. The hotel has an old HVAC system that does not allow a guest to switch from air to heat without shutting off the noise cancelling fan which we needed to do on the cool fall night we were there. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. So a mixed bag but overall enjoyable.
