The room did not have the three beds set up. But they were very good about bringing one up. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was excellent very noisy because of construction and we were not told the pool was not available before we checked in. I don’t think the neighborhood was very nice, but you could walk to very nice supermarket.

I was quite happy with my stay at Mercure Pamplona. The room is very spacious and comfortable, the location is excellent - near attractions, metro and good restaurants - and teh condition of the facilities is great. I would only say that hot food options for breakfast are not the best. But this may be a case of preference only. I would be more than happy to stay there again nonetheless.

Great hotel, great location

Out of 5 stars I rate his as a 4 simply for the reason that the reception staff spoke little or no English. The same staff however were courteous and proficient at what receptionists do.
The hotel location is great as you are in the heart of São Paulo. The area is a mix of residential, business and retail with a great Sunday market just up the hill from the hotel.
The hotel was very clean, the room was a great size with a very comfortable bed, a balcony, a small office counter and a wonderful shower.
We didn’t eat breakfast here as it wasn’t included in our package so I can’t comment about the food.
A great hotel in a great location that provides a very comftksbrl stay and value for money

Very well located hotel, the entrance and communal areas look a little dated and cramped but they refurbished the rooms recently and they’re great. Huge King bed positioned in the centre of the room giving a great feel to the room. Good room service. I would stay again!

They didnt change the bed linen (which was dirty the day I arrived) during my 5 nights stay.
The bathroom is dirty.
The room key had to be replaced 4 times during 2 days.
The wifi connection wouldnt be stable.
Breakfast was poor and on the last day I had to set my own table. No one to help.

The hotel had the main features needed. However, the fact that one of the of the elevators was out of service maybe the lives of the guests difficult.

Not sure how this hotel got those 4 stars unless they were fake reviews. This place was a mess. The carpets in the hall way were so disgusting I couldn't believe it. There was ONE elevator for the whole building that the staff kept busy and wait times approached 10 minutes. My last day there the elevator door jammed with me in it. I was stuck inside for over 10 minutes ringing the alarm - no one came. I had to pry the doors open. The rooms were average and the bathroom was very small.

Arrived at 9:30 am, check in is 12:00pm yet front desk said we couldn't check in until 2:00pm, we decided to wait in restaurant and we're finally given a room at 12:45pm
The first night we got a room with a non working air condition, I let hotel know of the problem as we left to do our shopping and sightsee, front desk said they would take care of the air condition. When we returned about 6 hours later we were told air was ready, we went up to room and nothing was different room was very warm, I called front desk again and told them about air condition front desk clerk said he would move us to a different room...after 20 minutes front desk called only to tell me they had no rooms to move us to and kind of chuckled when he said that, which I thought was very unprofessional. He said to check in the morning and would have us a different room the next day. One night of sleeping 30-40 minutes at a time only to wake up sweating and having to take a cold shower like at 3:00am to help me sleep. Unforgettable and never here again

The hotel is conveniently located in the Jardins area of Sao Paulo, but unfortunately, was without any elevator for 8 hours, and only one functioning for all 16 floors, for both clients and service personnel.
The personnel were courteous and responsive and the gym area on the top floor a plus, (unless you had to walk up the 16 floors). I would only recommend Mercure to travelers willing to experience some inconvenience, until its elevator problem is resolved.

Pictures of hotel look nothing like actual hotel

This hotel looks very rundown... What I saw online must have been when the hotel just opened.... I had mold in my bathroom, there where stains on the wall... The hardwood floors were dirty... Accent pillows had stains on them... Every attempt I made to speak with the manager he/ she was never avail, I made a special request for the manager to contact me... Never once did I get any feedback... The staff was ok... They tried to help me... The ones that spoke English !! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone!!

Room looked great & the bed was a gigantic king size.
Staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful.

Affordable hotel right in the middle of the upscale Jardins neighborhood in Sao Paulo. The hotel itself is in a residential area, but it's only a few blocks from Paulista Avenue, which has many restaurants, bookstores, shopping malls, museums and cinemas. Walking distance from the Paulista subway line. The hotel is very well kept and clean, and it was renovated not long ago. My room was larger than usual (it felt like a NY studio apartment), with nice designer furniture and modern accents throughout.

Mediocre hotel

Internet didn't work in the room half of the time; otherwise an average hotel that doesn't stand out in any way. Rooms are decent size and clean, but not really luxurious in any way. Breakfast for R$30 is somewhat overpriced, but then so is the rest of Sao Paulo. Qualitywise, the bread and croissans were not fresh every day; neither was orange juice (didn't try other stuff), but if you're hungry, they will do. Rooms are somewhat dark, due to a huge amout of highrise buildings surrounding the hotel, but that again is a standard feature in Sao Paulo.

Best Location

This was my 4th time to visit Sao Paulo, but my first time at this hotel. Jardins is the best neighborhood in the area, and Mercure hotels never disappoint. Very clean hotel and great staff. Room had really great design. I do not speak Portuguese, so one piece of advice: The day staff speak very good English, so make your special inquiries during that time. This property has the traditional Brazilian electricity plugs, but the front desk has adaptors to borrow. If you are a regular, I suggest buying one for yourself. There was some construction nearby in May '14 (this is one of the fastest-growing econs in the world afterall). That is why I always travel with earplugs. Breakfast was not included in the price, but was still a good value. I will absolutely try to stay here again.

Ok for money but NO internet working ever!

Bed was great a true American king size, like shower overhead spray and water pressure. Very noisy location and not sound proof window, and construction going on early in morning including on a Sunday which I was told by locals was illegal. Biggest problem NO internet, so if you need internet that work and not just for five minutes in lobby then this probably isn't your hotel until they replace it.

quite new hotel

Decor or room is nice, quite spacious double bed room. Only selected receptionists speak English tho, but it is ok as they can quickly direct you to one who does. Room cleaning only do an OK job only (like change the towels and empty the garbage bin), as they won't sweep the floor or change the bedding if you mess it up. About 10min walk to MTR station but you need to walk a rather steep road to get to Avenue Paulista.

Although it is a Small Hotel, the location is excellent. The stuff was very kind and helpful all the time. The breakfast very Brazilian style, what I really love. A special thanks to the front desk attendant, she was the best. Unfortunately I forgot her name, maybe Nicole. She helped me with my printings on a day that all the lan houses were closed.

I would give this hotel a 3, instead of four starts. In terms of location, it's very convenient. it has a metro station just a couple of walks away, and a good number of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel's lobby and overall public areas are just horrible, but the rooms are very comfortable with an interesting and functional decoration. Has a really nice bed and spacious working area. I would recommend to stay here only if you don't mind not having nice public areas and want to have access to everything.

Great hotel and staff

Stayed in this hotel during my first visit to Brazil and had a great
experience at the hotel. We were coming from the US to Brazil
for my cousins wedding and the hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating
to the many wedding guests staying there. The rooms were
modern, upgraded, and clean. Air conditioning units in the room
worked well and the beds were comfortable. My mom and I shared the
two twin room. Did not have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that.
You can get pastries down the street if you want and some restaurants within walking distance,
but at least 15 min walk to street with more restaurant options.

Recommended for a stay in Sao Paulo

I visited 3 different cities in Brazil, and I stayed in 3 hotels during the same week this May 2012. Definitely the Mercure in Sao Paulo was the best. Particularly, regarding value for money: well located, easy access with bus service from the airports; extremely clean, just renovated with smart design even if you want to work on your computer; excellent service, ample rooms with plenty of light, even in the bathroom. You can't ask for more.

Sao Paulo Mecure on Pamplona

The rooms are clean and modern and we felt relatively safe. The neighborhood abuts the a very wealthy one, but Pamplona itself is not chic in the least. It's not nearly as close to the main attraction of Avenue Paulista: there's a long, uphill walk involved.

The staff leaves much to be desired. They smiled nicely when asked questions, but did not demonstrate any real desire to help. The WiFi is free but it does not work -- AT ALL. I remember 14.4 bpm modem connects that were faster (I jest, not). Would much rather pay for it. They supposedly have a pool and gym on the roof but the elevator never when up to that floor. Were it a priority we would have pushed, but it wasn't so it was just another disappointment.

Stayed there twice on biz trips.

Upside: Location good for inner-city biz appointments. Rooms are really big, nicely decorated and very well equipped. Breakfast fine for the standard of the hotel. Staff helpful and speaking a reasonable English.

Downside: Slightly antiquated in-room safes work with a key & sort of padlock. During first stay I had to hunt down a padlock for 2 days before they found spares in housekeeping. Also express laundry (same day delivery) didn't arrive express at all. Had to chase the following day. But at least they didn't charge me for the laundry then.

Super Italian restaurant just opposite the hotel.

Nothing that would get you excited or make you want to return, but if you had to you would not mind it either. The staff were very friendly and helpful - the best attribute. Stayed June 24-28, 2011. Well priced mid range hotel in the Jardin District. The rooms are updated and clean with modern decor although this IS a 3 star property. Do not expect luxurious soaps and linens, etc. The smallish bathrooms are workable with the shower and toilet in a separate room leaving the sink next to the closets and open to the rooms.

Localização boa, limpeza boa, equipe extremamente atenciosa. Ao fazer check-in, percebi que o banheiro estava com um vazamento e me trocaram de quarto. O novo quarto estava OK, mas o cartão de acesso não conseguia desbloquear o elevador, sendo resolvido apenas dois dias depois. Além disso, o vaso estava entupido no segundo quarto, sendo necessário chamar a manutenção.
Poderiam melhorar a qualidade das toalhas, que já estão bem velhas e gastas. Fora isso, o quarto é confortável, cama boa e o atendimento é excelente.
