When we arrived there was noone at the front desk so my wife and I explored a bit to find the pool was not available and has not been used in several months...we booked on hotels.com and nowhere did it state the pool was out of order.We finally found the desk clerk (was in the back washing dishes) and he was very polite...all the staff for our 2 day stay were great...it was other issues..the pool for 1 then the room had 2 burned out bulbs in the bathroom..the toilet tank would not fill up after each flush and there was no hair dryer which was listed as available in the ammenities...we were told there werent any because guest keep stealing them....I told him they should go buy some out of the 150 dollar deposit they charge at check in...after several hours the room issues were resolved and the rest of the stay went well untill the last morning of our stay...at breakfast,there were eggs but no sausage...the guy at the desk told us if the amount of guests was below a certain level they couldnt make sausage because they would be thrown out. not only does that not make sense, we were not told of such a breakfast clause....that was the last straw,we will never stay at that hotel ever!!!!!

Well first thing was we recieved a knock on our door at 8:15 pm from an employee that was sleeping in the next room and said my lady was talking to loud. She was on FaceTime with her grandkids and Like I stated we were not breaking any quiet time rules. I asked to be mived yo another room which i was and discovered that the TV was not connected to the cable. So I was then moved to a 3rd room eich was fine. But after that experience I dont think Ill be returning.

The front guy the day we checked is realky nice and respectful. The bathroom sick was broken water went everywhere when turned on. The fridge freezer door was broken. We went there ro go swimming and the pool has been broken for 4 months that should be on the app. And when we left everyone was really nice tooalways know to bring your own cleaning rags

The rooms are OK. Older, but clean. The staff were very friendly. It took me 2 days to get a hair dryer that should have been in the room already, also it took 3 days to get fresh towels. Also, the pool was STILL out of order. The website said it works be finished in December. Again, staff were awesome and really tried hard to get things accomplished for us.

Positives - room was clean, bed was comfortable, breakfast was good.
Areas needing improvement - pool was out of order and our room had two lights out. The entryway light wasn't working and the dial was broken for the bathroom heat lamp so that wouldn't turn on. Plus the drain plug was missing from the sink.

We've been going here for years. The pool was a huge disappointment because it's something my daughter always looks forward to on our annual trip. It should have been stated on the website especially since it's been out of order for months. The maintenance issues with the pool and in the room really should be addressed. It gives the appearance that the hotel is going downhill. We were pleased with the cleanliness and comfortable bed. We were glad that the breakfast was as good as it always had been. We're on the fence about returning again next year vs trying somewhere else. If the pool is fixed, we may return. If not, we'll probably try somewhere new.

Pool was closed. Ceiling was leaking in pool area. Our bathroom door wouldn’t close as door was warped and had screws holding it together. Light switches were below the door handles. Definitely needs renovations. Continental breakfast was not very good. No juice, no forks. After the first morning we went out to breakfast.

The property was dirty and in poor shape. The heating unit in my room was not properly regulating the temperature, I walked into about 100 degrees even though it was set at 71. When I tried to adjust it the controls did not respond. I eventually shut it off and let the room come down to temperature on its own but that was not a pleasant experience. The exhaust fan in the bathroom was super loud and could be heard in the hallway. The pillows provided on the bed were half pillows, not even full size or the 3/4 variety which makes it super difficult to sleep if you toss and turn. And to top it off (although not the property's fault) the hotel sat next to an active train line which woke me up 3-4 times. Would not recommend this property specifically, and I am considering leaving Comfort Inn out of any future planning.

We paid for a double queen and got a double full size.
Staff was more interested in talking to each other or being on their phone instead of helping guests.
They allowed people to smoke dope right outside the front door and the entire 3rd floor smelled like weed.
We will never stay there again.
Someone needs to vet the locations better.
Very disappointing stay.

Everything. Worst experience in a hotel in 15+ years at least. Drove 4 hours to get there, first thing hand written note that said the Pool out of order. Check in wasn’t bad. Directed me to park in the ear of the hotel and come in that door so I did. Walked in and the overwhelming smell of marijuana was just ridiculous. Went up the elevator to my 3rd floor room. Room across the hall was ajar with loud people in there. Room smelled like mushrooms or mold. Turn the fan on to help. Window would open with no screen (which I believe Is illegal). Bathroom faucet leaked. Left for a bit came back and the room smelled like marijuana so bad. Put the bathroom fan on to help it didn’t. Air conditioner then heat trying to get it out. Slept about 2 1/2 hours the whole night. Smell made me sick to my stomach. Called front desk. Was told she wasn’t allowed to wave the desk and go to certain floors. (There was 3). Said she’d tell the person coming in at midnight about the smell. Told her I waa Getting sick from the smell. Nothing happened. Doors slamming, shouting at 12:56am. Then started again at 6:07 am. My shoes turned black on the bottom from the floors. In the morning I went Down and told them I wanted A refund and not staying the second night. The staff never told him I’d called down earlier. They apologized. Said I’d get a refund. We’ll see I will Be contacting hotels.com to check on that. I have Photos of all. This place should be closed and knocked down.

Staff was very friendly and bed was comfortable; however, facility is in need of refurbishment. Plumbing didn't work well, there was crumbling drywall in the bathroom, pool wasn't clean and heater was out, carpet was nasty (and very ugly). Also right next to train tracks, trains passed several times a night.

Check in was nice, the staff on arrival was very kind. Room was pretty clean but sink was leaking all over the countertop. There were bugs in the juice and the milk was spoiled at breakfast. Very little variety of food options at breakfast. Both nights when we got back to the hotel our key card no longer worked and we had to go all the way back down the the front desk. This was very frustrating with small, tired children. Sometimes front desk staff was outside of hotel socializing and one time she was sleeping in the back at like 8pm. We’ve been a few times before this but this time felt like a different hotel and we won’t be returning.

Hotel was clean. Pool was nice. Room was nice. I am extremely disappoint with the customer service. My Mother in Law took our four boys to Alton to visit family. She is in the best health she's been in years and finally was able to make this trip. It is a trip she has been dreaming of going on for a while now. She is fully capable of taking care of our kids even though there are four of them. She is a full time teacher still as well. The kids were not at the hotel, but only 3-4 hours max a day as they were mostly visiting sites and family. They would leave after breakfast and a come back around 8pm and be sleeping by 10pm. We are in the resort industry and our kids know how to behave in public! The manager told my mother in law she was too old to be doing this and incapable of containing four children on her own. This is a family friendly hotel! Several times they threatened to kick her out for noise complaints. They were extremely mad the 7 year old was getting his own cereal in the morning with her present. She just felt extremely unwelcome and didn't know what to do about it. Very disappointing and won't be going back.

BEWARE do NOT stay here!!!! The hotel is so Dirty, windows don’t close all the way, pool was “out of service” green water, No cable tv, it was “out” whole time, WiFi worked one day. Front desk clerk was always on their cell phone, so rude. Returning to our room at 8:30 pm on our last 3rd night, Housekeeping didn’t clean our room, when we called and told front desk requesting clean towels, we were told towels were locked in a room and he didn’t have a key, it’s our fault, we must have left sign on door telling them not to come in, when we said we did not do that he accused US of being rude and hung up phone on us! We are a professional, older couple traveling for the weekend from out of state for a retirement party. The request for towels escalated into an argument and WE were asked to leave by the desk clerk! There was No manager on site and repeated requests to speak to a manager were denied. The whole experience was traumatizing! They refused to give us a receipt and charged us for the whole stay! Never in our lives has anything like this ever happened! Do not stay here!

However the swimming pool was out of order/closed yet I was still charged full price and not informed of this ahead of time. Also (a minor inconvenience) if you want to watch tv while relaxing in the room, it takes forever to change the channel and/or find out what is showing on any of the channels because you have to spend many minutes using the arrow keys on the remote slowly going up or down the channels to find the guide channels. Truly ridiculous how long changing the channel takes.

The room and bathroom were clean and the bed was comfortable. Things had been painted more recently than any other updates, but it appeared that most things were original to the building. The hallway carpets were very worn and probably beyond looking clean even if they'd been shampoos recently. The doors to the rooms and bathrooms were chipped/cracked/scuffed on both sides.
Breakfast was supposed to begin at 6:00 but at 6:15 the hot items still weren't out and we had to get on the road
There's are a few other observations (not criticisms as they didn't impact our stay)
It seemed like most other guests I saw there were laborers/workers staying there while working in town. The pool was closed and \"not working.\" H B Omni lol was
