We had a great stay at the hotel. The employees are excellent friendly they made our trip special. The bus stop is right there in front of the hotel and it takes you right to Valetta. The breakfast was excellent. We looked forward to it every morning. Very nice swimming pool on the roof with a view of the ocean. The hotel is very close to the ocean and there’s a boardwalk where you can take a walk around the bay with a lot of restaurants. St. Thomas beach is close and very nice. Highly recommended.

The staff are humble and nice, but the room and property conditions are not good. The sink is clogged and the water does not drain properly. I booked a single-bed room, but they gave me a three-bed room, and each bed is too small for even one person. The most disturbing part is that the beds are very noisy whenever you move during sleep.

Amazing holiday

The service of all the staff is excellent and very friendly. The entire place is very clean and organised. Different choices of breakfast and all so tasty every morning. Excellent restaurant with choices for dinner and bar has a wide range of drinks for everyone. Loved the pool as it was a perfect temperature. Definitely refer anyone to stay here. stayed at cervoila for over 3 weeks, i booked it has it had a pool , but the pool was always full from people the ain’t staying at the hotel the pool opens at 10 am you go 5 min before and all the sunbed was always fool with people who stay by the pool for the day , i found it not fair people who stayed at hotel couldn’t even get a sunbed, every night when i go to hav ed a shower there was hardly hot water , and cervoila needs to change the mattress on the beds they are bad so unconfertable the breakfast after a week got sick of it it was the same thing everyday

A lovely hotel breakfast a really good choice. Bedroom was lovely with bathroom. Would be beneficial with new mattresses as the one we had wasn't very comfortable. Over all a fantastic place to stay.

the hotel Cerviola was the only one we could find with single beds.
it was comfortable eventually after 2 changes of room.
the breakfast was superb - the best bit.
i would like to see an option in the filters for 2 beds on the booking form

Stay for family wedding

Hotel was good,but was disappointed to be informed that we had been moved across the road to the apartments without any prior notice,separating us from the rest of our family.also check out time is 11.00 and not noon as stated by yourselves.

We stayed fr 3 weeks and was amazing. Staff were very helpful and amazing. Hotel was always clean. Bus stop just a few steps away from hotel. Breakfast was good. The pool a bit too crowded with local people but okay. There is no shopping around area. Lots of restaurants and pubs down by the promenade about a half an hour by walk. We would stay again!

I booked my my stay at the cervolia hotel and when I went to check in they told me there was no rooms and I would have to stay at the boutique hotel 500 meters down the road which belongs to them but when I said that i didn’t book the boutique there reply was it’s still the same. But doesn’t have a pol or bar I’ve stayed at the cervolia several times in the past and I won’t be staying again the customer service was disgraceful.they offered me a discount as I was going to book 3 extra nights it was actually cheaper to book online which was an insult.

A bad start turned good.

Arrived at the hotel near midnight and was given a room that was like a basement! I booked a deluxe double with balcony. We complained at the time but were told there was nothing he could do that night, so we just had to sleep there and then see manager in the morning. Awful night. Noisy hum all night. And when morning came no daylight in the room. THANKFULLY we were moved the next day to a lovely room with massive balcony and sea view. Lovely and clean. Only slight complaint was things were a bit 'tiired' and bed spread was threadbare and furniture on balcony was bady damaged and couldnt sit on it.
Breakfast was lovely. Friendly, efficient staff waiting on.
Roof top terrace, bar and pool was great, the food was fabulous and very well prices. Mega portions so beware! Drinks very reasonable priced. The pool was, again, a bit tired and felt a bit unkempt. Was rather dirty.
I would love to return to this hotel but would want the same room and that makes me nervous to rebook, as i truely believe we wouldnt get it. It seems a bit random when you book. Although you book specific room, i think you are basically given what they have got when you get there!!! And arriving at midnight to a tereible room, is not my idea of a holiday.
Its a shame as it could be a little gem.

Incredibly friendly staff

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making me feel right at home from the moment I arrived, especially the front desk staff. The room was also very clean.

The location was convenient, with easy access to local transportation.

One minor issue worth noting is that there was some noticeable noise from the hotel renovation. However, the renovation was almost done on my last day. Moreover, it did not overshadow the positive aspects of my experience at the hotel.

Overall, I found the hotel to be a delightful place to unwind, and I would recommend it to others seeking a convenient and hospitable accommodation option.

Had reserved their top room but was given something less. It worked out okay as one of our party did not stay. Was given a refund of the difference of the cost of the rooms once I spoke with a manager. I would expect that to be the minimum in terms of service and they met that expectation.

Nice clean rooms with air conditioning. Did not get to use any of their amenities. Ran out of toilet paper and could not find a spare, which is odd. Other than that, nice place.

Relaxing comfortable hotel.

I enjoyed my stay. The reception staff were charming and very helpful. The pool bar young man was also delightful. I thought the pool bar area was quite messy, and not cleared regularly. It was extremely busy. The bedroom was comfortable but the light fittings next to the bed were VERY dusty. The bathroom was fine. The bed reasonably comfortable. I had zero view from my room, but I suppose that did not really matter. I do prefer natural light. (ROOM 204). Breakfast was perfectly adequate. Dining room was fine. Location was good. Overall the appearance of the hotel was very nice. I would recommend it to anyone going to the area.

Caution

Our stay was ok. However on occasions there was a terrible smell on entrance to the hotel. Sewage ? The beds were also noisy. Creaked when ever you turn over. Very dissatisfied with the pool area. On Sunday and the recent bank holiday, Maltese who were not guests at the hotel were allowed to use the facilities such as the pool and bar area, and there was no room for paying guests. We also smelt cannabis being smoked. A private function also took place ,which felt almost as if we were crashing the party, when we wanted a coffee following a night out else where. Breakfast was ok, but the same choices everyday, more variety needed! I would hesitate to recommend this to my family or friends It could be a lovley place to stay, if it was only paying guests using the facilities.

A good weekend break

The staff aren't friendly. They gave me a horrible room initially. When I protested, they put me in a better room, which I was very grateful for but were all very cold and unfriendly towards me after that. My room wasn't cleaned on day2 and
They stopped leaving a bottle of water in my room.
The safe didn't work and they never fixed it.
Breakfast was very basic. I asked for a boiled egg one morning instead of fried or scrambled, they said they didn't do that.

Perfectly located hotel

Brilliant located hotel, bus stop outside and a short walk to the sea front and beach. Extremely clean inside. We had a coffee machine and free water daily. Breakfast is amazing - proper cooked English!! The roof top bar/restaurant is fabulous - the food is excellent and the drinks are soooo cheap!! The pool area is very clean and comfortable. Looking forward to returning again soon.

Amazing staff and owners

This is honestly one of the best hotels I have experienced, the owners and the staff cannot do enough for you!

I only stayed one night but I’ve never felt so welcome and taken care of, every staff member went out of their way to make me feel at home. I will 100% be coming back.

The room was clean, modern and had greet air conditioning, everything you need but the devil is in the detail as they say, it’s all about customer service and they have it nailed on.

I cannot recommend them more than to say this is the only hotel you should stay at in Malta!

I have just got back from spending 13 nights at the cerviola hotel. The staff were so nice from reception staff to the cleaners and the kitchens staff all smiled and welcomed me and the children on every occasions. They went above and beyond if you needed anything. The rooms were cleaned every day and fresh towels put out. The breakfast was basic but nice and for the price I couldn't complain. The only thing maybe that could have been improved it the policing of the breakfast area due to it being self-service and in the current climate what with covid, maybe staff could have ensured all food was covered or even serviced by staff. In addition, not sure if this was due to the current pandemic but would have been nice to have some events or pub quiz at the hotel in the evenings.

I requested mid-way through my holiday to change room so I could have a balcony, luckily there was one available and they allowed me to change the next morning without hesitation which was amazing.
I have heard that this hotel has just gone through refurbishment and was not that great before, however, as this was my first time I can't compare it to before but I would happily stay here again.

Good hotel, terrible staff.

Hotel has undergone renovations. Room is modern and gets cleaned everyday. The room had a window, but unfortunately no view as pointing to the next building 1.5 meters away. Some other rooms do have a balcony with view. Breakfast is oke, but a bit boring as everyday the same. Check-in desk staff (of course not all of them) is highly unprofessional. Ignored at check-in desk until staff is finished with their phone. And being shouted at for accidentally stepping on a wet floor (no sign). And after check-in desk staff swearing about guests thinking they do not understand Maltese swearing words.

Been to many european places over the last year, but unfortunately worst experience was here.

Overall, good hotel, terrible staff.
Keep in mind I am not writing about all staff as there are exceptions.

Lovely hotel and staff.

We have stayed here a couple of times and have always found the staff very, very friendly and cant do enough to help. The hotel is very clean and well maintained, the breakfast is fantastic, english and continental. The rooms are comfortable and well kept with a coffee machine and little fridge and a bottle of water daily.

STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY AND ACCOMMODATING. I WAS GIVEN A ROOM WITH A BALCONY FACING THE STREET. THE VIEW FROM THE 4TH FLOOR POOL WAS VERY NICE. NOT MUCH TO DO AROUND. I spent a very comfortable stay at Cerviola Hotel .The accomodation was comfortable and clean at all times and tended to daily by excellent housekeeping staff. . Staff throughout were polite and extremely helpful at all times during my stay. Since my last stay a number of years ago at Cerviola I was very impressed at the vast upgrading which has taken place throughout in the interval and the degree of significant investment incurred to achieve this objective is very evident.. My intention would be to pay a further visit at some point in the future..

Arrived quite late and there was no booking for me - but a quick call to the manager and my booking was found... Lovely clean hotel with a good breakfast variety, bus stop outside goes straight into Valetta

Very impressed!

Very impressed with everything. We have stayed in this hotel in the past and there is no comparison. The decor, the facilities, the breakfast were all first class. Will definitely stay here again. If this is a 3 star hotel it must be at the high end. Many extras provided - bottled water daily, safe and fridge in room, towels changed daily (not necessary). Sky television for sports enthusiasts. Plus, bus stop outside hotel.

Outstanding hotel in Marsaskala

This is an excellent small hotel with some splendid extras. The air-conditioning works, there is a pool on the top floor with great views, the hotel is near a bus stop (91 or 124) which takes you to the main bus terminal on Valletta from where you can take buses to anywhere in Malta - so the location is really tops. Then you can take a walk (or jog) along the front for miles if you want to (it is just one short street down from the hotel to the seafront promenade - where there is another bus stop 93). They also have an excellent taxi service, great complimentary - all you can eat -English breakfast and for only 10 Euro a limited menu dinner. There is a shop (owned by the hotel) connected to the hotel and there are grocery stores nearby. Fridge and coffee maker in the room and they include water every day.

Nice hotel

Nice hotel but double room for two adults and child was to small man at the reception wouldn't do anything for us. Overall nice hotel for one night or two no longer.

Satisfying and pleasant

The hotel stay was very good. Nice clean rooms and friendly service and nothing much to complain. Special mention for the awesome breakfast and dinner. If I have to nitpick,
1, May be I can say that the dinner windows was very small (7 - 8.30 PM) and quite a few items were almost gone in the first 45 minutes.
2, The hotel was a little remote and going anywhere involved catching minimum 2 buses, but I knew this before and it is not the hotel's fault. I am just nitpicking may be because the public transport was slightly below expectations and made this place feel a bit remote.
3, Much more of the room floor area could have been covered in carpet. As I was there mid april, the floor was pretty cold

Having said that, if I have to go again to Malta, I would again pick this hotel :)

Weekend at the Cerviola.

I enjoyed my stay.... the staff were helpful when needed.
The room was good value for money.
Breakfast was a lot of choice.
The hotel was very clean and comfortable.
10 minutes walk from the town centre.
I was only there for a couple of days due to a family funeral, but I would be more than happy to stay there again for a longer break.

I accept it is low season so work was going on and I did not mind that in the least. What I did mind was being woken up at 6 am by the workers that were working in the area, who insisted on greeting each other in the corridor at 5:30/6 am.

Breakfast is fine, room was very clean although there were more TV channels blocked than available? I was working, not on holiday so in the evening a few more channels would have been better.

The hotel is at the top of a hill, .5 miles from the port. Locally there are shops but the area only wakes up at the weekend. Weekdays you need to walk down and then up to the \"action\". Some good restaurants there.

Nice hotel.on bus routes.

Recent refurb. Needs more work to rear and sides blown concrete render and cables and piping in poor condition. Change needed to allow a proper bar/lounge area.the small bar never open.roof top bar.snacks never open.no gentle music on roof top pool area. Access to harbour area and main centre via side alley about 10 min walk. Or straight along main road.parts of alley were very run down and scattered with dog poo.

Great Value

Hotel close to family.

We chose the Cerviola because it was the best accommodation close to where my son and family live in Marsascala. The hotel has recently undergone a major renovation but there are still a few things required to raise it's rating.
The reception and dining area are really attractive but there is a definite lack of a comfortable seating area. We had some bad weather during our stay and it would have been nice to have a lounge with TV to wait out the rain rather than being confined to your room.The rooms are nicely decorated and have good facilities however the twin beds are very hard so sitting on them during the day was uncomfortable. We could have sat on the balcony however it rained so hard that wasn't possible. The staff were lovely and when we had to move rooms the day after arrival as the first room was too noisy, this was quickly rectified.
People have complained about the breakfast, I think for what the hotel charges per night this is totally unreasonable. Cereal, fruit, yoghurts, cold meats, full English, tea, coffee, fruit juices and croissants what more could you expect?
I have down graded cleanliness merely for the room, unfortunately the floor of the balcony wasn't swept and therefore the bedroom floor was constantly dusty! I think the bedroom floors should be dusted daily, especially as there is building work going on right next door. On getting out of the shower your feet immediately didn't feel clean.
This is being very picky, the hotel is excellent value.

A little gem in marsaskala.

Upon arrival the hotel had been recently refurbished and the hotel reception area was very impressive ( beautiful even).the first room we were given didn't have a balcony, this for us on holiday was a complete no no,so bear this in mind when booking,we ended up in what I assume was a family room and was absolutely lovely,breakfast was adequate but a bit more variety would of been a bonus,maid service every day which was excellent, roof top pool which again was excellent, all in all a most enjoyable stay.

Very nice hotel!

Stayed for a brief few hours overnight before onward travel to Gozo.
Very nice hotel recently renovated with a very pleasant and accommodating night porter.
Large family room with 4 beds, immaculately clean and quiet with balcony and aircon and a stunning bathroom.
Good buffet breakfast both hot and cold.
Would certainly recommend.

Very quiet area. Hope to visit again.

We were looking for a quiet holiday away from the normal tourist hot spots and this was just right. Enjoyed every minute. We hired a car but bus stop just outside hotel when needed.

An incredible 3-star hotel

Spent my first holiday to Malta at this wonderful hotel where the staff, both during the day and night, were lovely and so welcoming. The hotel was very well placed in the town of Marsaskala, which was at walking distance to beautiful bay areas. Overall, me and my friends had an amazing time both at the hotel and getting to know the amazing surrounding area. Would definitely recommend this hotel!

Best Hotel Staff you can hope for

We (family of 4) just finished our 2 night stay at the Cerviola Hotel. Throughout the entire stay every staff member went above and beyond with a smile on their face to address any question we had. To top it off, they even came to our rescue, when I had left my passport in the hotel and only realized it when I was already at the airport. I called the hotel and they were able to locate my passport and offered to rush it to me to the airport. About 20 minutes later they arrived at the airport with my passport. When I offered them 40 Euros as a Thank You for their time, effort and help, they showed true human spirit of support asking me to donate the money rather to a charity.... Left me speechless and made my day and symbolized the character of the great people of Malta ! Thank you again !

Victor at the front desk made us feel so welcomed and the staff couldn't have been nicer. The room was cleaned daily but an expert team that really cared to do a great job! The hotel was recently renovated, very nicely done. We spent 8 comfortable night here and would highly recommend Cerviola!

Decent hotel with recent refurbishment

NB - When you arrive you may ask yourself \"where is the swimming pool shown in the brochure?\". There are no signs. Get in the lift and go to the highest floor, you'll find it there on the roof. There are great views from there but just be aware with small children. Sensibly the whole roof has artificial grass which is good for grip.
Good points - Hotel is recently (still finishing minor stuff!) refurbished with marble floors, glass doors etc in reception area. The buffet cooked breakfast we had daily was very decent. The bathroom in our room was all very new and our room was comfortable enough. The hotel is a short non-flat walk from Marsaskala centre and a longer but do-able walk from St Thomas's bay (try the Zion bar there) which has some small beaches. There are multiple bus-stops near for travel by bus. From marsaskala you can get a direct bus into Valetta.
Bad points - The room corridors do not muffle sound and all the room doors are classic key doors with double locks so every time someone goes into there room it is click-click, bang, click. You are awakened from the time of the first person getting up with no need for an alarm clock. The TV interface is for some reason very complicated and the ability to get certain channels varied randomly. We had to call reception to understand it.
Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are staying in this area. If they fixed the doors it would be near perfect for the price.

Almost totally new hotel

In the process of being renovated first 3 floors are finished to a 4 to 5 star standard only the top floor to go plus the roof area where the pool is. Staff were very friendly and did what you asked.

Great hotel with friendly staff

The hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. The rooms were recently renovated so it was in a very clean and new conditions. Bus stop is just outside of the hotel to go into the town. A few mini grocery stores just around the corner. About 10 mins walk, there are plenty of good restaurants. We had a good seafood at the restaurant called Ximo which was recommended by the hotel staffs.

A Really Nice Hotel in a Convenient Location

This was our second stay at the hotel with a four week time span and, as with the first stay, did not disappoint. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment and the rooms are updated to a very high standard with energy efficient lighting and air-conditioning systems. On this visit we were allocated a room at the front of the hotel which had a nice balcony complete with two chairs and small table. The buffet breakfast is excellent with a wide and plentiful choice on offer. The guest rooms are quiet and beds very comfortable. Buses to from the airport stop adjacent to the hotel's door.

Very nice hotel with excellent staff.

My wife and I stayed 10 days for our holiday in Marsaskala in August. All the staff were extremely helpful throughout, offering guidance on local amenities and booking excursions plus much more. The room was modern, very clean with fresh towels every day and has a good air-conditioning unit. A good sized breakfast buffet was laid on each morning consisting of cereal, full-english and continental. The swimming pool and sun loungers on the hotel roof were a nice place to relax with stunning views across Masaskala Bay and out to sea. Again, very clean with a snack shop available too for drinks & ice creams.
The room we stayed in had been refurbished, to a high standard, and other areas in the hotel had plans to upgrade. These included the foyer and bar area which were perfectly functional but would definitely enhance the hotel even further.
Overall, we had a fantastic stay at this hotel and would highly recommend to others and hope to re-visit ourselves should we return to East Malta.

Clean and comfortable

It was good. Very helpful staff at check in especially Nirvana. However, the bathroom did not have a good odour but the staff came in and sprayed it and it was much better. The rooms were clean and breakfast was very good. Close to a bus stop to take you directly to Valetta where u can make good transfers. Also the beach not too far.

Cleanliness of room/hotel was very good, we had towels changed every single day.
Staff is lovlet, breakfast was very good, we even had a chat with the chef on few occasions.
Hotel amenities: coffee machine in the room, unforunately there was no fridge (as advertised on the Hotels.com website) also room was smaller and defenietly not a king size bed as adverised too.
Hotel location was brilliant, at least for us. Bus stop outside the Hotel, supermarkets, St Thomas Bat just we minutes away. Over all we had a very good experience, we will go back there for sure!

A hotel with potential

Oh my; showers that run cold, rooms not locked after they'd been serviced daily even after complaining, clear away your dishes and scrape the plates yourself, reception not able to indicate on a local street map where the hotel is situated or even find the correct street, window whited out, renovations ongoing from 7.30 am including removing ceramic floor tiles and cutting new tiles, no bath mat for first 3 nights, bath towels with a large hole.....
This hotel has plenty of potential but it will remain potential only until these issues are addressed

Welcoming and friendly.

Not expecting to stay in the Cerviola, but transferred here, it was the best thing that happened! So welcoming and friendly, as soon as we walked through the door. Breakfasts included, continental or full english, omelettes to die for. We had dinner there too. Awesome. Used public transport, bus stop outside the door. Traveled all over the island from there. Hotel a bit tired, but they will be sorting that out soon apparently? All clean though! Such a relaxing holiday, would definitely stay there again.
