The staff were very lovely friendly and helpful. There is stairs you must take to hotel but lift at the hotel. In saying that departing (upstairs) they staff helped me with luggage and to meet bolt.
Room was small and funny design but would definitely stay again.

What a FABULOUS little hotel! Perfect location for exploring Valletta, and within 10min walk of the main tourist attractions, the fast ferry to Gozo, the boats to the 3 cities and the main bus station. Great restaurants & bars close by.
Amazing buffet breakfast and very friendly and helpful staff. I felt at home from the moment I arrived.
Room was clean, well equipped, quiet, and comfortable. Free WiFi. I would recommend staying here without reservation, and will be back!!
Just know that it is on a stepped pedestrianised lane so you can’t be dropped off / picked up directly outside - not a prob for me - but you need to be able to drag or carry your luggage to the door.

A lovely boutique hotel very central and convenient in Valletta and everything is in walking distance. Room was clean and spacious. Breakfast had limited options but very adequate. Staff werr welcoming and friendly.

Only couple of issues why i didn't give 5 stars. We've had a room with no windows and the air con in that room is not powerful enough. We've turned it down to 16c (lowest you can set) and we were still too hot and had couple of bad night sleep due to waking up at night for being too hot. The air con seems to be a small old unit so not too surprising it is not powerful enough. We've asked the receptionist but seems that there were nothing much they could do.

The other issues we've had was the room not being able to open. The staff told us this was due to the battery in the lock being low. They did fix this the next day for us so it didn't cause too much inconvenience to our stay.

Overall nice hotel and would consider staying again if air con issue can be resolved.

The staff were very helpful. Pam and Ann Marie were great. Right in the heart of Valletta. The breakfast was amazing. In hindsight, too many cappuccinos were ordered 😀.

The downside is if you had large luggages that we had, many stairs to reach to the hotel. We found out later that the staff,if notified, would help with luggage….we used this service upon our departure.

This is a wonderful little hotel. The staff were friendly and professional. The location is great for proximity to restaurants and the sites of Valletta, although you need to be OK with steps and steep roads. It is not too far to the bus station from where you can get anywhere and only 5 minutes walk to the Gozo fast ferry.
The breakfast was excellent considering how few rooms there are here.
Finally, the hotel arranged a car to get back to the airport and the driver comes to the hotel and helps get luggage to the car.
Thanks for a great stay.

What a fabulous small hotel. Staff were genuinely friendly and very informative about where I wanted to go. Spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a wide range of freshly made options including local Maltese food. Very convenient but enough off the beaten track to make it quiet. Would highly recommrnd.

Wonderful stay
This hotel has a magnificent location, within walking distance of the most important places of interest in Valletta. Small, cozy. Comfortable room, excellent amenities. Indulge guests with cakes, muffins and fruit at the reception. Delicious breakfast. But most importantly, the staff, very friendly, help you with everything you need to be comfortable. My gratitude to everyone, especially Mary Ann. I hope to return.

The two lady receptionists were very helpful, e.g.: asked how my room was, then fixed the problem of the air-conditioning, though it took 2 goes; quickly offering coffee as needed; helped ordering transport to the airport, coming out to where I was waiting in the next street, to say the car was stuck in traffic, then waited with me until he arrived.
The balcony was pleasant but too busy sightseeing to use it.

Excellent/wonderful check-in young lady, she was just great. 19 Euro taxi ride from the airport, 30 Euro from hotel back to Airport. Great location, walk to all sites. Great A/C. Great Hot water. Beautiful hotel! We stayed on the top floor room which had an amazing balcony with a view of the Three Cities. Staff was very attentive and room was clean and spacious and stylish. Very close to the Upper Barrakka Gardens. Convenient location within walking distance of all major spots in the city, but the street itself was quiet. Would definitely recommend =)

Excellent hotel in great location

I had a really comfortable stay here, just felt at home. The hotel is pretty trendy, bed was super cozy and the breakfast is delicious. They provided a dressing gown and slippers, and having the nespresso machine in the room was great! They let me check in about 1-2 hours early which was very much appreciated after a 3am start.

The location is excellent, around the corner from busy streets and the harbour. Under 10 mins walk to the ferry terminal to Gozo and to the bus terminal. A few doors up there is really fun live music on Fri and Sat nights at a restaurant and its 3 mins walk to Upper Barrakka gardens.

Only negatives were that the safe in my room didnt work and wasn’t attended to even after asking a couple of different people to help. They replaced my towels every day which was unnecessary. Watch out for charges, I was charged for some snacks and not others and not for the water.

The staff was wonderful, they left thoughtful touches around the room after every cleaning, and were accommodating to my gluten and lactose intolerance. The breakfast was great: oats, dried fruit, freshly squeezed juice, cold cuts, eggs, sausage, toast, cake, fresh fruit... you name it. The only downside was the terrible water pressure in the shower!

Lovely and confusing

We stayed for 4 nights. We found our suite to be aesthetically gorgeous but ergonomically disappointing. There were not enough surfaces to place our personal items beside the bed or by the sink. The lighting in the living area and hall was lovely but you had to choose between having all the bright fixtures on, or none.
When we arrived in the room the heat was on and there were no instructions how to operate the A/C. The instructions were wrong for the safety desposit box. The hotel literature, including online, states they have Room Service...there is no room service.

Now, On the PLUS side: the beds were extremely comfortable., ALL the Staff are very kind, friendly, and eager to please, and the morning buffet breakfast is one of the best I've ever had .
The location is central to all of Valletta.
Remember, You must walk up about 35 shallow steps if you arrive by car. Let the hotel book a driver for you from the airport because they know how to access the area and will carry up your luggage. Tip is included, btw, and the charge will be added to your hotel bill. I would stay here again.

Family/Friends visit to Valetta, Malta

The hotel is in very central beautiful area in Valetta. The room was actually studio, with separate bedroom and launge with very big couch (where my son slept), and had balcony. It appears all the rooms are kind of mini studios with different theme. All design-furniture. My friend and her daughter stayed in the apartment in the top floor.
Everything in this hotel is perfect! The service was outstanding! I would strongly recommend this hotel!

In general I was quite satisfied with my stay in this hotel. I'd prefer they installed wardrobes in their rooms and provided kettles(instead of coffee making machines). But I suppose they think most of their guests don't care about that. Location is great(near major sightseeings). Several churches are also nearby(sometimes you may be awoken by their bells in the morning). Breakfast is good.. but absolutely typical for small 3-4 star boutique hotels(happily they serve some hot dishes and fresh fruits).

I booked this hotel for 6 nights on my solo trip to Malta and it’s probably one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. I had arrived an hour early than check-in time but the receptionist was very helpful with checking to see if my room was ready and letting me settle in.

On entrance to my single room, I noticed the really nice facilities provided. The bathroom was an open one which was ok as it was only me and complimentary items provided were: razor lit, toothbrush/toothpaste, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, shower cap, sewing kit and tissues. The sink was on the opposite wall of the room and the safe was underneath. A hairdryer and laundry service was also provided. There were steps to the main part of the room which had a fake grass floor which was quirky. There was a single bed, table and chair, luggage rack, hangers (could have done with a few more) with slippers and dressing gown, umbrella and alarm clock/iPod docking station next to the bed. On the table was a coffee machine with coffee pods, sugar and milk. There was a bottle of wine next to it but I found that this was part of the mini bar underneath the desk and not complimentary. The bottle of water next to the bed was free and replenished everyday. Outside was the patio area which was accessed through a glass door and there was a table and chair and also a swing chair. I loved the swing chair, the cushions for this were under the bed, but it was lovely to sit in it in the nice weather. The only slight issue I had

Fantastic little gem of a Boutique Hotel, perfectly placed in Valletta Old Town for exploring the City. All of the staff, without exception, could not be more helpful or friendly. The rooms (there are only eight) are spacious and quirky with everything you need - lovely towels, bedding and furnishings, water/tea/coffee facilities replenished everyday. Breakfast is perfect with everything you could want - even 'Fizz'.
Would not hesitate to stay again ourselves or recommend.

We have stayed in a number of boutique hotels in different European countries and so far have not been disappointed - SU29 continues that trend. It is perfectly located in Valletta and wherever we went was within a 5-10 minute walk of our hotel! While young, the staff were very friendly and helpful and I was very impressed before we even left the UK as I needed to ask for information on 2 separate occasions and the replies to my emails were extremely fast and gave me exactly the information/help I needed. The suite was a good size and comfortably furnished and there was adequate storage space for clothes and other items - a feature which is sometimes overlooked at boutique hotels. The breakfast offerings were excellent for such a small hotel and we ate there every morning of our stay. If we were going back to Valletta (we will definitely be returning to Malta as there is SO much to see!) SU29 would be our chosen place to stay! :)

Perfect stay in Valletta

SU29 was amazing in every way - location, staff, and room. Even though it was located on a set of stairs (which I personally didn’t mind) it was easy enough to get to and very close to the main area in Valletta. The staff was beyond great - very helpful and attentive. The room also made you feel at home in terms of size and decor. In addition, the breakfast they offer is exactly what you need to start off your day. Would absolutely stay here again in Malta.

This is a lovely hotel, with helpful, pleasant staff. There are many high spec design features and out loft room was spacious. The only downside was the breakfast which is mediocre and not at all up to the standard of the rest of the hotel. Only the coffee was good. Excellent location near the main sites and some lovely bars and restaurants.

Best Hotel in Valletta

One of the best experiences I’ve ever had at any hotel ever. Most hotels say they care about your experience, and will ‘do anything’ for you, but in my experience this doesn’t really happen.
However, this hotel was fantastic. Welcome drink, which was a nice surprise, and the staff couldn’t be more helpful. Booked taxis and excursions for us.
Complementary bottle of wine in the room as well. An open bottle of prosecco at breakfast to have with orange juice...All was fantastic.
Plus a lovely location in Valletta on St. Ursula’s Steps. Seconds from amazing views of The Three Cities, and lovely bars and restaurants in Valletta’s atmospheric narrow streets.
Would definitely stay there again.

One thing that might put some people off is there was no window in the bedroom, apart from one in the shower opening onto an enclosed shaft. Well situated to reach the main sites of Valetta and 10 minutes walk to the bus stop.

Luxurious room with a fabulous view.

The hotel room was spacious and comfortable. The bathroom was large and the kitchenette area included a dining table and chairs, fridge, mini bar, coffee maker, cutlery, plates, oven and kettle. The living area comprised of two very comfortable chairs, TV and chest of drawers.

Attention to detail was excellent, the décor very tasteful.

We also had a spacious balcony, with amazing views across Valletta and the harbour. There were sun loungers, a dining table and chairs, a night light on timer switch and a large sun umbrella.

The bath robes and slippers were a nice touch and the complimentary gifts super: a bottle of wine on arrival and two straw hats to keep.

The buffet breakfast had a good choice of food.

Staff were friendly and extremely helpful and courteous.

The hotel is situated half way up one of the slopes from the main town area, so a steep climb up a number of steps is required. This isn`t a problem if you are fit and don`t have too much luggage!

What a fantastic hotel, first impressions when you walk in....you have defio made the right choice. The staff are amazing, very helpful at anytime of the day (even at 3am in the morning!).

The room we stayed in was worth the money (I even mentioned to my wife that for the money we spent we got a steal) The room was spacious, elegant, stunning and much more.

Lovely boutique hotel

The SU29 Boutique hotel was a little more pricey that I like to pay for a hotel room, but I was pretty late in booking my night in Valletta and pickings were slim, however I'm very glad that I ended up staying at SU29. It's a beautiful hotel in a great location - just down the street from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, which is a wonderful place to enjoy the sunshine and the views of Three Cities. The staff were exceptional, I was brought a welcome drink after check in, they happily arranged a car to take me to the airport (slightly more expensive than a taxi, but worth it as the driver of which came to the hotel, rather than letting me lug my luggage up or down the St. Ursula's Steps), and let me check out of the room later - even though they had another guest due that afternoon - so I could have time to swim in the harbour in the morning. The room was very comfortable and the coffee machine, robe and slippers were a nice touch. The breakfast was good, though distinctly lacking in fresh fruit. They even provided a lovely sun hat for much needed use in the heatwave, which I very sadly left accidentally in the hotel bathroom. The only fault I found was that they recommend you don't drink the tap water, but do not provide any complimentary drinking water - only the standard mini-bar fair.

SU 29 was very nice; the staff were really helpful and the location is great. My room did not have a window except in the shower, and that made the room a little humid and sultry. Valletta is a beautiful spot but limited. There are a few amazing historical sights and a lot of touristy shopping and restaurants--some good, some not so good.

A new boutique hotel, minimalistic design; The room on the top has spectacular views and a large private veranda. Beyond that facilities are minimal but there are plenty of restaurants and bars within an easy walking distance. All Valetta attraction are nearby.

Hot water didn't work in my shower. Manager was rude instead of apologetic. He did offer a new room, but I hate moving rooms after I've fully unpacked, and the manager did not offer assistance in this process. So, it was cold showers for me!

Also, my carpet was astroturf. Make sure that's your thing before you book here.

Overall, not the relaxing hotel stay for which I was hoping.
